@sensualsatan What you are saying is correct. To trap someone to land a hit and wait out Borrowed time is fine. I don't see a reason why a killer should trap somebody for a longer time than that.
Maybe @HorrorLover74 can clarify what happened.

"Everytime I message the killer after the game they are always say I'm being "TOXIC" or I'm "Bullying them" "
Why do you feel the need to message killers after every game? Just stop it.
If everyone says you're toxic then this should give you something to think about.

No one is going to be banned for targeting a survivor and mori'ing them. It's never happened in DbDs existence and it isn't ever going to. I don't care what the rules concerning griefing state. It's all fluff designed to steer people into playing nice.
The reality is that if the survivor is known to be a gamechanger, a great survivor, it is solid strategy to get that person out of the game. No one is going to be banned for doing so.
Now perhaps if in chat afterwards they made it clear they did it because they don't like the person things might be different. Maybe. Even then I still doubt it.
Read my post again.

If they target you and you get mori-spammed, record those matches and report them.
If the killers play normal and "just mori" you, play SWF like the others suggested.

When i play survivor i usually dont t-bag the killer b/c I dont want to be rude. But there is one main exception. I will t-bag the killer if someone gets face camped in the end game and we manage to get the face camped survivor safely to the gate. (if we have time to t-bag)
You realize that at the end of the match the killer has no reason to leave the hook? Are you expecting a free unhook/gifted escape?

The 8k cap per category should just get removed. This would solve so many problems.
(Keep the overall cap of 32k bloodpoints so we don't get never ending farming games.)
-
@VexTheHex Sorry, I don't think any of these guys has decent looks. And yes, we need a blond guy.
-
We know that more demanding games like Overwatch or slashers with nice graphics run well on consoles. In theory, it should absolutely be possible to have a nicely running DbD on consoles.
So why is this not happening? Either the devs put other things on priority or they can't/don't know how to improve the performance. Which other reason could there be?

Memory leak issue causing insane frame drops the more matches that are played in succession, a map wide game stutter that happens whenever someone opens a chest, low sensitivity on top of already imprecise movement, arguably more SWF groups due to the nature of console, ridiculously slow and clunky UI, random disconnects mid-match, losing points at the end of the match because of random "no network connection" errors...
It's rough. It was getting better for a little bit and then they stopped caring. Playing killer is 100% not worth it on console right now. Nor is solo survivor.
"a map wide game stutter that happens whenever someone opens a chest"
Oho, I think that's the first time I see somebody else realizing that this is happening. ๐๏ธ

With the current "balance", it's clearly survivor.
Edit: I'm saying this as a survivor main. It's clearly the role that allows you to make a lot of mistakes/play far from the optimum and still win.

Lobby bugs are super annoying. It's indeed insane how much time I spend with searching for new lobbies every time I come across one of these bugs.
I hope we will see a drastic improvement with the update on Tuesday.
-
I'm sure it's not intended and it's an exploit. However, if a downed survivor does this, just stay next to the hook. Camping 2 people for the price of 1 usually hurts the survivors pretty bad.

Forum etiquette: Most of what is and isn't acceptable is outlined in the official rules. I suppose the only piece of etiquette I can really think if is that if you're replying to someone's comment, you should always quote or at least tag them so that they get a notification that you've replied to them.
Now I'm going to be straight with you and answer your other questions with brutal honesty. The truth is, no, new players' or low ranked players' opinions are sadly not valued very highly by most people here. If you post an unpopular opinion or vent about something you came across in a game and let slip that you're new or low ranked, you should be prepared for a slew of "Git gud"s and "Play at red ranks and then we'll talk" or "You need to play the game more and then you'll understand". What you should be aware of when making suggestions is that people who don't agree with you may be quite dismissive or downright insulting, particularly if they suspect you of "maining" one role or the other and therefore being biased in that direction.
But the other thing you should be aware of is that in spite of the above, there are people on here who like to be supportive of one another and engage in reasonable, adult discussions. Having a keyboard and an internet connection seems to bring out the worst in some, but there are a lot of kind, decent people on these forums if you can find them. Welcome, and good luck. We're glad to have you.
To be fair, you usually can tell by the post itself whether the player is a veteran or new to the game.
And if a new player is asking for unreasonable nerfs/buffs, it's totally fine to tell them so. The important thing is that nobody starts insulting anyone.

Wiggling is fine in my opinion. There should be some effort for the Survivor so that he does not end up in the Basement. Hook struggling on the other hand has to be automatic with an option to give up.
And more Survival-BP are really needed for Survivors, the BP-Cap for Survivors is more like 29k than 32k.
Agreed.
But more survival bp only for leaving through the exit gates, please. (No need to encourage hatch camping any further.)
-
Either require both roles to get a double-pip (which I think is overkill but would be fair) or let killers get the trophy with a 4k.

I honestly doubt thatll do anything, but cause ppl to change how they immediately leave the game. Someone who wants to ragequit after being found and hooked too fast will still cause their teammates to suffer a 3V1 game by just suiciding and moving onto the next game. The only plus side is the killer gets his BBQ stack, but that match will be just as scraped as it is now.
Let's wait if this really happens. Could definitely be the case, but let's see first how this plays out.
-
Killers aren't coddled by the devs at all. This game is unbalanced and survivor is the power role.
If you believe only killers are toxic: You should start playing killer yourself on a regular basis so you can experience the toxicity coming from the survivors' side first-hand. This is not "good survivors vs evil killers". You can find toxic people on both sides.
I only read the first part of your post, so I might have missed something.
-
I wouldn't use Dying Light at all besides from fun builds. This perk got nerfed massively.
Calling + Sloppy Butcher is a nice combo for killers with a small terror radius.
-
The devs had planned immediate time-outs for players who dc too often for somewhen after dedicated servers are live.
Since dedicated servers are still not working properly, we will have to wait for this.

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. DS is the strongest it ever was.

"some people love the game being super vanilla and balanced, but like even the insta heals being nerfed now, #########!"
"insta flashlights and brand new parts were both super fun to use"
Killers want to play a fair game and have fun as well. If you are looking for a bully-simulator, you can turn your attention to somewhere else.
-
Freddy is a good mid-tier killer, that's all. Nurse, Spirit & Billy are much better. That also applies to consoles.

Lets see ruin, blocking 3 gens at the start for 2 minutes. I'd say that's pretty in the door.
That's not a foot in the door. A foot in the door would be a hooked or at least a downed survivor.

The devs disagree, and imma take their word on this seeing as how they have access to the actual stats.
Of course a lot of survivors play bad and therefore you can have a good time as killer on this map. I'm talking about the map's potential. Good groups will destroy killers on this map.
I had a 3-min-chase on this map yesterday. My 3 teammates did one single gen in this time. It would have been enough time to do all 5 gens. In the end, everyone died. So while this is a super-survivor sided map, the match confirmed the devs' statistics.
-
Those who care about their pips and play at the higher ranks need the 4k to pip. That's how the Emblem system works.
-
That depends on which killer you are playing and which kind of team you are facing.
See it like this: You don't have to force a campying or tunneling playstyle, but when it turns out to be the right tactical choice in a specific situation, you can go for it.
This is a PvP game and it is totally fine to go for your opponent's weak spot.
If you don't want to tunnel, you can also bring moris "just in case".

This. Sometimes your matches technically end at the beggining as killer. Didn't find anyone fast enough? You lose. Didn't bring RUIN (or it got broken immediately) and you had a lengthy chase with 2 to 3 gens popping? Well I hope you brought NOED/BW because if not you are probably going to lose.
Killer Matches are decided very early sometimes. It would be nice if they gave all killers a BBQ like effect at the start to give you a direction. And/Or had the entity block off gens for 30 seconds everytime a gen pops to prevent the "pop pop pop" effect.
I'd like to have a perk as a quick band-aid for now:
At the beginning of a match, see the auras of the 2 survivors farthest away from you for 4 seconds.
(I suggested that 3 months ago: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/75624/new-killer-perk-hunters-instinct )
-
@Peanits Gotcha. ๐๏ธ
-
@Peanits I feel like survivor queue times are usually longer than killer queues on PS4. Is this a platform-related thing? Or is the time of day the deciding factor? Would it be possible for you to share statistics with us?
-
I'd prefer it if we had a killer with an ability that helps getting the proverbial foot in the door in the beginning of a match.
-
Sure, why not. Would be a nice little QOL change.
-
I usually don't blame the killer for any of this. However, I'm annoyed by my teammates if they react un-smart (for instance all 3 survivors doing nothing and wasting time while I get camped).
-
You can camp & tunnel whenever you want.
From a tactical point of view, it usually makes sense to camp when the exit gates are open. There are also a lot of situations where it's a smart tactical choice to camp before the gates are open.
Don't feel bad for playing smart.

OP states anti tunnel and DS which implies being unhooked. Since the killer pulls you from a locker you won't be in the dying state to deactivate SW. DS the killer run away and SW will heal you to full.
Only problem is timing. If SW activates while on the killers shoulder then it won't heal you (or crash the game ๐ค).
I don't think it would work this way, see my post above.

Try play survivor and you will understand quickly.
Also it's a terrible strategy and you will get smoked by a decent team.
Pressure map / gens not hooks.
Tunneling is a very viable strategy. Nothing puts more pressure on survivors than reducing their number.
Also if you pressure hooks (or slug), survivors don't have time to take care of gens.
-
Sounds fun. Would probably be almost useless in a lot of matches, especially with SWF, but it could work occasionally.
I could see myself using this instead of a brown bonus bp offering.
-
Are you sure this works/have you tested this?
IIRC as soon as somebody gets grabbed from the locker, the survivor health icon switches to "downed" status. (And the downed status would cancel Second Wind.)

I've done this too... Though now my friend requests are full of abusive messages attached to insincere requests. Or in another game I had someone who died on hook follow me 200 times so that the rest of the game was plagued with notifications. I really don't understand the energy it takes to get that angry or the need to act on it in the pettiest ways possible.
I'd personally rather this stuff stayed in game if it was going to happen anyway- I genuinely think pc players have it better!
That's why I disabled friend requests as well.
-
Additional note: Maybe there was a circumstance you were not aware of like no hooks being near enough to hook the surv.
-
Slugging is not reportable. The bleedout timer lasts 4 minutes, after that the survivor is dead.
-
@Eleghost I don't see how matches that last 4-5 minutes are fine. However, we are not going to agree on this topic, so it's best to leave it at that.

While the map may be easy simply because Survivors aren't used to it yet, I'd like to point out that the map does not have a high amount of safe pallets. There are only like two safe pallets in the entire map, and they are both in one room.
All the other pallets are not safe.
This is simply not true.

You're not gonna convince me there needs to be a second objective. It's just not something that i feel needs to be added or is necessary for killers to have enough time to kill. Better secondary objectives is a more realistic option to the problem.
I feel like you realize already that I'm not that wrong.
No hard feelings, though.

okay so a second objective will fix what? the issues red ranks have when the killer isn't as good as them? Not sure if you know but most matches aren't 5 minute matches of survivors roflstomping the killer. I've played a ton of matches where only me and one other survivor are doing gens. The other 2 are urban evading around or hiding. i'd rather not lose a game because i have to do some extra nonsense.
You describe it correctly: Your team would lose matches with a second objective because 2 mates are just hiding and not working properly.
That you can still win matches while half of the team is spending their time urbaning around is a very nice example of what is currently wrong with this game.
Imagine killers could win their matches while being afk 20% of the match.

Umm, I don't know about you, But I get alot of kills on hawkins. Soo... try harder?
I'm talking about the map's potential: A high amount of safe pallets (there are also a lot of unsafe ones, I don't care about these) + insane loop potential with Balanced Landing + really big distances between the gens which make patrolling very hard.
This is a rational look at the map. A lot of survivors aren't used to the map yet, so you can still have easy games as killer.
Also I don't get why you instantly want to bring the discussion to a personal level with this "try harder" thing.

i don't think a second objective is the key. A more rewarding secondary would be better. If you add a second objective you have to adjust the first objective or else killers are gonna have an advantage with longer matches.
Yes, that's the sense of adding a second objective: longer matches.
I don't know about you, but I find those 5 minute-genrush-1 hook-matches super boring.
