That's constantly happening for me with survivor lobbies (solo and SWF) since the last chapter got released. I know a lot of other players have these issues as well. Sadly, it didn't get better with the mid-chapter patch.
It's so annoying!
-
It's easy: If the challenges are too dependent on luck and what the other players are doing, I'm not spending money on the rift.
-

This would be interesting to see. I'm all for shaking things up in a big way nerfing the top perks on both sides would be something else.
We know it's not going to happen, but it would be nice. Perks should only be a little help for the player, not deciding about win or loss.

So PC and Xbox got cross play? Idk if I need to be happy or sad
No they don't. It's only "crossplay" between Steam PC and Microsoft Store PC.
-
It's only crossplay between PC players.
Console still has a long way of optimization to go before matching PC players with console players would be fair.
I would like to have a nicely optimized version for console, and then crossplay would be fine. But the thing is: For how long have we been dealing with performance lags now? Any progress? No, it has been getting worse over the course of months and years.
Not to be negative, just a realistic view on the issue.

I don't think the challenges are too difficult.
I think the problem lies within only being able to select one challenge per trial when that challenge can take multiple trials - it's frustrating.
Not too difficult? When was the last time you unhooked 3 survs during the EGC?
-
These challenges don't give me any motivation to spend money on the rift. Quite the opposite.

@Snipes4You said:
Just typical survivor entitlement, just ignore it and move on.
"Just move on" will get really hard in a couple of weeks when the Archive wants you to do challenges like the one with the basement party. Survivors dc'ing will deny the killer completing a challenge.
-
😂
For most survivor challenges you need a SWF to help you. No way you get these challenges done as a solo player.
And for some of the killer challenges you need some really bad opponents. And on top, you have to pray that they don't dc. When was the last time you had a "basement party" and none of the survivors dc'ed?

You were paying 6,000 blood points for a one time use Bt. I think that was perfectly fair. There was no reason to cut the time in half. As for the needle. It's not even close to being worth 7,000 blood points. It really wasn't worth it when it was 8 seconds. But at least it was a fair compromise. No they're both trash addons. I never ran them before because they felt kind of cheap. Now I won't because they suck.
Still better than MoM.

Not really. They're trash now. At least the ptb versions were okay.
The purple one is now counterable by the killer and the pink one now requires at least some skill from the survivor (do not get hit for 16 seconds - which is totally doable).
I don't see a problem with that. Bonus health states should be the exception and require some skill, not be free.
-
Very good changes! 👍️

Great minds think a like lol I started around that time as well.
Just so you know I wasn't trying to suggest I came up with it first, but just trying to say that I have wanted this for a while now. It would work really well with survivor however I don't think it would work with killer.
Oh no, don't get me wrong, that wasn't about "who came up with it first" at all. It's such a simple suggestion that I'm sure the two of us aren't the only ones who mentioned it.
It was more like "oh, it's been almost a year, look how time flies".

Listen are you even on ps4 first of all instead of accusing me of playing toxic which isn't the case. I'm at rank 6 all that happens is I loop and then exit the game no tbagging etc, don't precieve that you know how I play just because you haven't had the same experience. The reason you don't get dc's is probably because you terrible at the game see its not nice is it to think you know everything. There is several posts on the ps4 bug section dating back 2-3 weeks even that this exploit has been around some I'm sure if it was 1% there would not be so many people having this problem.
I'm not accusing you of being toxic. I say that we must do something very differently if your 20% is true. There is just no way around it. I'm also on PS4, I'm currently on a similar rank.

It does I'm on ps4 I've been in a 2 swf who has also lost his points several times its a very unfair bug and its no longer 1% of killers like you said on my post its alot higher around 20% then that because they are exploiting the fact the survivors lose there BP.
If it's around 20% for you, then you must be doing something fundamental different than me.
Don't wait at the exit gate for the killer, just leave. If you tend to bm during the match (t-bagging, clicky clicky), stop that as well.
If you have such a high dc rate compared to me, there must be a difference in how we behave.

I suggested this a few months ago in someone's thread. I think for survivor it rewards a player who distracts the killer the whole game or just does the gens.
I'm not sure how well it would work for killer but i think it at least should be tested
I suggested this already in December 2018 when I was super new to the forum. Ah, the memories.
If anybody is interested, that was the old thread: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/37155/raising-removing-the-8k-bloodpoint-limit-per-category/p1

No I'm a Mikey and wraith main and got to rank 1 with them, even though it doesn't stay rank 1 long I'm normally hovering between rank 3-7 every season. I never really played nurse and spirit is just boring. I do like legion with a specific build I run.
You just wrote one post ago that you reached rank 6. This doesn't make any sense.
-
@GH0ST3D said:
I have reached rank 6 with killers like trapper and wraith. I have almost 3 years of experience in both PC and PS4. I gotten to rank 8 with pig, clown and Huntress.
You have been playing the game for 3 years and never played killer on red ranks?
Or do you mean you only played on red ranks with Nurse and Spirit?

Ok everyone goes into this game fully aware that it's a 4v1. Now let's put this in an easier way for everyone to understand. It's a 4v1 survival horror game somewhat like a playable horror movie. And in horror movies the survivors don't just run around oblivious to each other and not talk, or formulate some sort of strategy. They try to work together in hopes of everyone surviving. It's just skilled based in my opinion. I can wreck almost any SWF groups getting at least 3-4 kills, it just takes practice.
Try playing killer for a while and climbing the ranks with a mid-tier killer. It will broaden your horizon, I promise.

What's so imbalanced about it? Because we can communicate? Or because it's too difficult for most killers to handle?
The game is already imbalanced and favouring survivors when it's 4 solos vs 1 killer. The additional communication allows the SWF group to play even more efficiently, giving them an even bigger advantage.
I'm a survivor main myself and play both solo and SWF. I don't have any illusions and know that I'm playing the easy way with the advantage on my side.
-
It's not disliking people playing with their friends, it's dislike for the imbalanced state of the game.

They had to give you SOME reason to use Unicorn block. Blinding an OoO user is great, lol.
Now we only need to give OoO users a clown nose in the lobby so that I know which add-on to bring.
-
I think it's a great idea! 😁
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
I don't think it's so bad that it needs to be disabled but its definitely not a good map for killers.
It's obviously not getting disabled since it's not bugged. However it's incredibly bad when you play against BL users and can't teleport/don't have traps.
It's like Crotus Prenn Asylum or other buildings where you just have to abandon chases.
-
I would like it if they removed the cap of 8k bloodpoints per category. More bloodpoints don't help me when I'm getting chased the entire game and maxed out my Boldness already after 2 gens have been done. (Keep the overall cap of 32k bp.)
-
@Eleghost said:
was he using an addon to stay tier 3 the whole time? he's not broken on dedicated servers the only thing is the sounds for tiering up act wonky sometimes from what i've seen.
Not the sound is wonky, you get set back to actual tier 2. So that often means no tier 3 for Michael on dedicated servers.

Swap Infectious Fright for Spies.
Its a phenomenal perk on Freddy with his gen teleport.
I’m preparing an elaborate post explaining why Spies is particularly excellent on new Freddy.
Stay tuned.
Make sure to record some gameplay.

@[Deleted User] said:
Both @CrowFoxy @NoShinyPony are correct. New Freddy’s design comes with lots of upsides but they’re balanced with downsides.
I would prefer the old mechanic. Keep this BT stuff and don't let me have these issues with OoO and Infectious.

I Agree however this issue is more pressing losing all my blood points after a well deserved escape does that seem fair to you or is this not a issue that needs to be fixed right away, atleast with a survivor dc'ing you get points per dc what do I get nothing and lose my offering and item if it was used during that game.
After you escaped, a killer dc'ing doesn't rob you of any points.

Derp, forgot to mention that lol No I always play solo nowadays.
Than at least the survs got matched well with each other, I guess?
-
That's correct. But this mechanic also has downsides:
Try playing Freddy against an OoO user. It's ridiculous. Absolutely no chance for mindgames.
And my beloved Infectious Fright doesn't work reliably.
-
I keep saying the same thing, but it doesn't hurt to repeat it here:
One big problem is the 8k bloodpoint cap per category. If it weren't for that, survivors would often get more bloodpoints.
Remove the category cap, just keep the overall cap of 32k so that we don't get endless farming games.
-
Play 4-men-SWF. No random teammates, so you'll have real teamwork.
-
@Omans said:
It is easily the worst map in the game. I look forward to if it ever gets reworked.
It should be the map that gets the rework with the mid-chapter patch in January/February.

Did you play solo or is this SWF?
-
No, we aren't. This Xbox banner is an ad from last week.
This is not the first time this account has spread misinformation. If at least they would correct their statements instead of leaving it like this...

When my dev team misses a deadline we work through the weekend lol
I think most dev teams do that. However, I read in an interview a couple of months ago that employees at BHVR don't do overtime.

or they just started working on the broken things today
because if that's the case they shoulda started working on them yesteryday
They clocked in for the day, of course. I didn't think there was room to misunderstand that.
-
Pop goes the Weasel is not bad, but it's overrated. The reason is simple: The perk helps you when the match is already going in your favour, the perk doesn't help you when you are struggling.
-
No, but the opposite happens to me: When I know I'm facing a Pig, I get jumpscared by every survivor urbaning around the corner.
-
The devs gave us an update Friday evening. They just started working today.
Not to defend them, but I'm sure they will let us know when they have new information for us.
-
AFAIK the devs didn't state anywhere that the patch was ready and was sent to Sony, MS + Nintendo. The certification process usually takes a couple of days anyway.
There is a slim change that the patch could get released at the end of this week, but don't get your hopes up.
-
@usernamenotvailable said:
That banner on xbox has been up since the day the event was supposed to be released. It does not mean they approved the update just that they didn't bother to change it after it was postponed . Leaks are not gospel you know.
Also we know that the patch did not get submitted on Friday. Even if it got sent to Microsoft yesterday (what we absolutely have no indication of), the certification process would take more than just a few hours.

the developers knew the long time it takes and they still took a decent patch because it is certain that it comes with many bugs so the fault they have they had to have put to work before if they knew this would happen
Sorry, I don't understand what you try to say. Can you try to rephrase it?
-
It is not Sony's fault that the patch is getting delayed. The devs know how long the certification process takes.
If the patch doesn't get submitted to Sony in time, it's not Sony's fault when the patch can't get released in time as a consequence.
And no, it will only divide the community further if the platforms don't get the updates at the same time. We had enough examples of that happening in the past, we don't need it again.
-
The number of players is pretty constant. But what we can say now: The Stranger Things license did not increase the number of players permanently.
(If you remember, we were discussing this issue last month with worry - that despite having a great new license, new players would get scared off by the at-that-time very bad matchmaking and other issues.)
-
Pop goes the Weasel is an overrated perk. It helps you when the game is going well for you already, it doesn't help you when you are struggling.
Try slugging. When you down somebody and you know another survivor is near, let the downed person on the ground and chase the other survivor. If you down survivors fast enough, that's a good way to put pressure on them.
As a new player learning Huntress, you will still have a hard time. Don't get disencouraged and keep going!
-
Remove the 8k bloodpoints cap per category. (Keep the overall cap of 32k so we don't get never ending farming games.)

Its still garbage though. BL is almost useless unless you use the basement in the shack or run to the tree which is a dead zone...
BL not being useful doesn't lead to a map being bad for survivors when you don't need to run any exhaustion perks in the first place.
It's also okay for Lithe, it doesn't affect Sprint Burst/DH/Adrenaline.

It's okay for Lithe. You have several jungle gyms with windows. It's a bad map for Balanced Landing, though.
