So it seems you usually send the killers messages if they don't play how you want.
This is one major part what makes the DbD community so toxic.
If you can't say "gg", just move on.
-
1v4 game balance is more important to me personally. Not having the same chances like my opponent to win a game is a real fun damper. (I see that from both sides: It's not fun when I'm at a disadvantage and it's not fun when the game is too easy.)
Doesn't matter whether the game I'm playing is an e-sports title or a party game.
-
It's easier to hide with the female characters.
We need a cute, not-so-tall male survivor!

But she was getting 4ks almost every other game.
Have you ever seen Nurses on yellow, green or even purple ranks? And how they ended up with 0ks or 1ks?
How is this possible when old Nurse was super easy and didn't require any skill?
To save time: It's possible because old Nurse DID require skill.
-
Old Nurse already took skill. Claiming something else is simply not true, otherwise everyone would have just used the good add-ons and 4k'ed all the time. I don't know about you, but I didn't see everybody playing Nurse.

MCote hinted there will be a new map
Yeah, ok, could be that there will be one despite the Roadmap. Or maybe additional variations of Yamaoka Estate?
-
It's possible that Rin's father is going to be the next killer.
We know that the next chapter is not coming with a map, so why not revisit Yamaoka Estate?

I thought we agreed on the Cool Killers Club?
How about OP Killers Club? ? Everybody is a member!
-
Exploiting.
-
He is the one leading the "Hookers" meetings, so why would we expect him to be anything else than op?
-
You clearly started this. I don't see the reason why you would want to provoke them and then post this chat here.
-
It's very sad but let's be realistic: Deathgarden won't make it to consoles. Right now, 25 (twenty-five) people are playing the game.
-
Happens on red ranks as well. Solo survivor can be a frustrating experience sometimes. There is no way around it: If your random teammates kill the fun for you, you have to play SWF.

If I remember correctly, someone told me the last update had a memory leak (according to what @NoShinyPony told me and correct if I'm wrong Shiny). ?
Since we (as the community) don't have the code, we can't know for sure but the symptoms heavily point into the direction of a memory leak. I'm sure the devs already heard about this assumption because a lot of people are saying this.
However, the assumed memory leak is not the only problem. Frame drops and lags have been a big issue for a long time, the last update only made it worse.
On PS4, there is always a lag when a status gets added (for example: Mangled caused by Sloppy B, Exposed because of a perk or Michael tiering up, Bloodlust kicking in etc.) or when an animation happens for the first time (first hit, sometimes even first time searching a chest). This is nothing new.

that build kinda depends on the factor how fast the killer gets down so he can get alot of dying light stacks. But swf can beat any build in the game imo
We weren't even good and some of us did their time-wasting Archive challenges, so it shouldn't be a problem for good solo players, either.
And yes, if it takes some time to get the first hook(s), Thana and Dying Light won't become relevant.
-
I have faced that build with a SWF group, wasn't a problem, we got all gens done.
-
1) I feel that a lot of people want Spirit to get nerfed, not changed.
2) Using perk slots to counter bad/imbalanced game mechanics is the killer's daily bread.
-
Seems to me that the real issue is that some people feel like they can dc whenever the game isn't going their way, and this ruins the game for the other survivors.
-
I'm definitely not clicking on random links.
Please post your concept here.
-
People who say that Spirit doesn't take any skill are the same who say Nurse and Billy don't take skill.

That window on pre school outside the main door and the one on Ironworks especially.
Honorable mentions go to Torment Creek blimp, Rancid Abbitor indoor metal bar area window and the storehouse window.
Nerf these please ty devs.
That window in front of pre school really angers me. This window only became a problem after the map rework, because that one door on the short side of the school got opened.
We did not have that door before, and the window wasn't a problem. If you do a map rework, why would you add such a loop?
I wonder what the devs will come up with for the Haddonfield rework.

most of my killer games are 4 kills.. I think playing killer requires strategy too.. you gotta know when to rotate when to drop a chase when to proxy a bit and etc.
Are you a red rank killer? I got the impression you main the survivor role.

I really don’t like the meta of “wait for the killer to show up before you leave.” You won, congrats, get out and let’s all move on to the next game. If someone is being chased then of course there’s cause to stay, but if not, you don’t need the scolding parent to chase you to bed. Used to be people would give a hit as they left, I don’t see that anymore. Just a final taunt to the killer.
Exactly. It's just wasting the killer's time for no other reason than to annoy them. And then people are surprised why killers don't play generously anymore.
-
Okay, let's add the flamethrower then. A couple more lags won't really make a difference.
-
There is one big problem with the flamethrower: I promise you that the lags + frame drops for the flame throwing animation would be worse than Doc's shock or Plague's vomit.

You did indeed. The matchmaking would be balanced for the rank 1 player, The two randoms should be rank 1 so the the rank 20 would probably throw the game off balance, being matched against a rank 1 killer.
As killer, I don't dodge, not because I feel it its wrong, but because I need to face the sweatiest, most toxic red-rank SWF squads to improve. I don't think it is wrong in principle.
A killer that dodges wouldn't affect the outcome of a match but a rank 20 in rank 1 game (or a rank 1 in a rank 20 game) would sway the game out of balance.
But these rank 20s will face a high rank killer anyway because of their high rank SWF teammate; it doesn't matter if you dodge the lobby or not.
The only thing that changes is that you personally don't have to play with rank 20s. Why not take the challenge? Isn't that a change to push yourself and improve?
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
I was about to say "don't do it", until I saw you meant as survivor. Yes I agree those are lobbies you should dodge.
When I play survivor, survivors dodge me ?
Why do you think it's okay for survivors to dodge, but not for killers (if I understood you correctly)?

Is there? I've been deliberately letting the last survivor go during double bloodpoints.
And then getting hit with "ez noob killer".
Oh yeah, I used to play a lot more generous as a killer. But since it apparently isn't appreciated, I don't do that a lot anymore. And I'm not the only one: One year ago, I got gifted with the hatch on a regular basis. Nowadays, that happens super rarely.
-
The gameplay around the hatch would be a lot more relaxed if there wouldn't be such a big difference point-wise between a 3k and 4k.
-
@BearWolf_51 We know that level already and we had some heated discussions here about the (im)possibility to get some of these challenges done. After a lot of discussions, the mods said these challenges are "placeholders" and not final.
-
I noticed that as well. Random teammates on a yolo save mission or spending the match looking for chests really impact the solo survivor experience. I definitely prefer playing with a full SWF team to avoid these matches.

I say this in every thread: restart your app once you start getting frame issues, or restart after every match (especially if you're playing killer). There's a memory leak issue that causes your framerate to start tanking and stuttering on successive games. It's especially noticeable on Demogorgon/Hag/Doctor/Ghostface on lean proc.
Hawkins is still bad by itself though. Thankfully it's a killer sided map so it's not that much of an issue.
Unfortunately, a huge part of this has nothing to do with the memory leak.
The lags/freezes have been in the game for a much longer time.
But it's crazy and sad that even the menu is laggy now.
-
Concerning the OP's ideas, this is the only one I can agree with:
"killer spend few seconds to damage gen, survs should spend few seconds just to stop regression"
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I think you are a Killer Main.
I think it's somebody who plays both roles.
"more gens with less repairing time - it will change survs sitting/repairing time to seeking/movement" and "DS is active for all time after unhooking till another surv is hooked" aren't good ideas from a killer's perspective.
-
It makes sense when several people work on the same gen and they can't hit Ruin skill checks at all.

ok so what about the mori part ?? LUL thats the whole point of the post
A good survivor team will still win against a good killer with a mori (Nurse & Spirit excluded).
-
Answer: No, this game is not killer favoured, quite the opposite.
-
@NMCKE The developers are not just "missing out on some things here and there". If that was the case how do you explain the performance getting worse and worse? And are you familiar with what a memory leak is?
-
@NMCKE I'm not that optimistic since the performance on PS4 is not on a constant low level but instead gets worse with pretty much every update.
The performance was a lot better 18 months ago.
Also the latest memory issue is surely not encouraging.
-
I've never seen a rank 1 killer asking for Ruin to get changed (besides asking for better totem spawns).
-
No, as a lot of survivors would simply dodge good killers they don't want to play against.
Survivors should not lose their offerings if the killer dc's, that's it.
-
DbD was already laggy on my PS4 Pro before the last update, and it surely didn't get better. (Yes, other games run absolutely fine.)
But what is new is that also the menu is now sometimes laggy.
The devs must have added at least one memory leak with the latest patch since closing and restarting the game helps a bit with the lags.
-
@MPUK If that was the devs' intention, it will not work. For example: Somebody mains the survivor role and rarely plays killer. Their killer rank is perhaps 18. Now they are going to play killer on rank 18. They will have an easy match against low-rank players and now come to the conclusion: "Playing killer is easy, no struggles."
If you really want to make players see the other side, you would need to make them play a lot more than a couple of challenges.

You're not required to play 100% of the game at all, but if you want the most from Dead by Daylight, it's a requirement. It's like working, you can't expect to get full pay when you only did half your hours. 🤷♂️
Also, the game wouldn't be dead because if both sides play both roles, they can always switch to the side that has the best queue times. That's why you don't want to encourage players to play only one role because they won't be flexible when they need to be (if they want a great experience). 🤗
Great that you compare this to working, because this is exactly my point: DbD is a game we are playing for fun. It's supposed to be the opposite from work.

This game isn't just a survivor or killer only game, so you can't expect everything in the game to revolve around what you want because there are also players who like the other role as well.
Besides, playing one side is highly discouraged by the community. Why would you want players (or the developers to encourage other players) to play only 50% of the game they bought? You can't expect to get everything if you only play 50% of the game. 🤷♂️
At most, I can agree with a re-roll for specific archive challenges, that's it.
Encouraging somebody to play only 50% of the game is not the same as not requiring somebody to play 100% of the game.
Also if everybody would play both roles equally, this game would be dead due to super long queue times. The survivor:killer ratio needs people to play one role more often than the other one.

I think making someone get "out of their comfort zone" is perfectly acceptable when a player is refusing to try a whole half of the game.
I'm sure the OP already tried playing the survivor role before they decided that it doesn't bring them fun.
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/100642/unique-challenge-problem
Personally, I would rather the game get you out of your comfort zone and try something else for once.
Only playing 50% of the game is not healthy because you only see things through that scope. Sure, you might have to spend some BP, but really, they can be earned back through play time. It's not like BP are a one and done type of currency. 😁
This is a game and not school or work. People are playing the game in their free time to have fun. I don't see the sense in why they would have to get "out of their comfort zone" here.
-
It's always the same when there is an event and the player count is higher than usual. The matchmaking servers can't keep up with the increased amount of inquiries.
Devs, please add more servers or improve the algorithm. This can't go on like this everytime when there are bit more players than normal.
-
Some of these challenges are even near impossible for SWF groups.
