Black banquet caused a lot of burnout on both sides. But killers got it especially bad. They had a survivor sided event, lots of losses, and a lot of killers resorted to hard tunneling as a way to win. Not a fun tactic and usually provokes a lot of post game salt from ppl in dms and postgame chat.
I think ppl need a week or two to settle down and get the frustration out of their systems.
I played killer almost exclusively during banquet and did fine for the most part, and i probably played it more than most people did.
-
You're not pressured into it, you can do well with any killer it mostly depends on your skill and the skill of the survivors, as well as the build you use and map even. Even with top tier killers you can still get gen rushed by survivors.
-
Does MMR even exist? my lobbies always differ. i think it's just like new player mmr then everyone else after a certain point.
-
This sounds kinda silly. Best option is to just buff the weaker killers tbh and adjust maps.
-
you know, there's these cool little things called sacrificial wards that prevent maps.
-
hard to say i've been MMR boosted when 9/10 survivor games i die or escape through hatch. pretty much the opposite for killer, almost always get 3-4k. I mainly play killer but have been playing survivor for the past few months exclusively to finish up challenges and it's a pretty bad time.
-
This reads like the mentality of "they did it so i have to too!". Okay so just because someone gives up doesn't mean you have to as well. I've had plenty games of survivor where I have gotten out after someone gave up on first hook for whatever reason. Just play the game normally and you shouldn't get punished.
-
The worst part is probably legion and rpd this time. If you get neither of those it's pretty fun as survivor.
-
very rarely see any occasionally see survivor at 25-50 even though killer queues are instant. I know they messed with the bp bonus modifier a while back and i guess never decided to change it back.
-
why? people have said that since the iron maiden one added a sight to his gun.

Every single event game, slug and tunnel without fail. The first one hooked gets tunneled out. We try to be altruistic and help out but we just lose because of it. This game doesn't reward survivors for working together when there's no incentive for killers not to tunnel. We just need to accept the fact that one person will get to wait 15 minutes for a game to start and spend the next 3 minutes on the ground or on hook. Rinse and repeat. Can there be an incentive of ANY KIND for killers to spread the hooks out? And now slug for the mori. Person 1 tunneled out person 2-3 is on the ground from trying to prevent the tunnel and the last survivor is hiding in a corner waiting for hatch. "Get rid of distortion to prevent hiding" ######### are we supposed to do when 3 are slugged? Try and pick up someone just to get downed ourselves? They wanted killers to get the upperhand and they got it in spades. Survivors are quickly losing reasons to keep playing survivor. No amount of X% bp is going to keep people playing for long. "60 million players" Most of which only come back for events just to get reminded of why they stopped playing in the first place.
You're not wrong, i tend to see tunneling a lot in general outside of events too. I would probably say just staple off the record and d-strike into your build to deal with it. Obviously not a great solution but it's one of the best i could think of.
-
People are still saying stuff is pay to win? I remember hearing the same stuff whenever bubba came out. Such a silly take on stuff with mediocre killers when nurse is free for everyone and is the strongest killer in the game.
-
My bonuses change so fast and they're never very high, i think the highest i've seen was a +100% killer for like 1 game and that was it. All i ever see on both roles is +25% usually. They've definitely cut back on bonus for whatever reason as i would see +100% survivor during the day and +100% killer at night.

Im not sure what you’re going on about. Just made a post about how some changes are needed, not sure where you are getting all this other stuff from.
The people who know and are familiar with the add on are probably the only ones who should respond to this anyways.I mean to be fair you probably should have lead with the killer being huntress as a few killers have pin addons. I do think she needs something still, when playing her it feels better but on certain tiles and loops it's impossible to throw or even tall short loops she struggles with because of her movement speed.
-
As killer I have grown over the years to expect the worst from survivors with how they will behave, I'm typically pretty right as if i manage to kill 3-4 of them they will flame and if they escape they will flame. Obviously there's people who won't flame and just say gg and be on there way but it's somewhat rare that i see that.
As Survivor solo que it's pretty bad. I expect at least 1 dc every 2-3 games minimum, killers who will tunnel or camp, bad teammates occasionally, and the same few killers every game. It feels pretty bad most of the time when playing though it's more relaxed but really annoying to deal with dcs. I also expect someone to be upset in endgame chat though this is the same on both sides. -

I agree that slugging for 4k was too common before the update, but now I'm finding more slugging for 4k as well as increased tunneling and proxy camping in my matches. It's literally reached a point where I expect the killer to either come at me during the unhook, or run straight back as soon as an unhook happens. I usually run kindred, and I find I have to wait extra long to even think about going for the unhook these days.
And I used to rarely see hard tunneling, but now I'm seeing it in a sizeable number of matches. I find I breathe a sigh of relief when I don't see those types of things from killers, and that sense has really only developed recently.
In general things have been progressively getting worse. The mori addition really wouldn't affect it much but there's little incentive to really go after other survivors without killing one. 3v1 is significantly more easier than a 4v1.

The most odd thing in the entirety of DBD to me, is that BP scoring events lose value or cap out at a max.
Huntress can only hit survivors with her hatchets 14 times before you stop getting bloodpoints for it, doctor has the same thing at 17.
Others just lose value, huntress also loses value after 9 hatchet hits the BP scoring event halves.
I can't think of a scenario that would be a reason for the scoring events to half/cap out. Playing the game normally would always get you more, and it's not like the BP grinding discord servers are a private thing with cross-play off.
Curious on if anyone else has noticed
Yea it's been the case, i made a point a long while ago with michael and huntress as it's almost impossible to max out michaels deviousness unless you use a mirror as stalking gives so little and even with hit brutality on 1 hits is only 300 while ghostface gets the 300 and an additional 500 for marking in brutality. Huntress is the biggest out of it without 4k with full wind hatchets and hatchet hit bonuses your deviousness will be lacking a ton.

you’re wrong. It has increased.
Idk how it could increase, i'd say prior to it i'd have 7/10 games a killer would slug for 4k and it's pretty much the same. This doesn't really give you much more incentive to slug if you weren't already for the 4k.
-
Yea i've noticed it a bit on huntress hatchets doing the blood splash animation and hit noise but not damaging survivors.
-
The smoke bombs in general mess with certain killers, if you blink near one as nurse you'll get the smoke effect all over your screen as if you're in it.

I would like an option to sell items and addons for maybe 50% of the bloodpoint payback?
It'd have to be lower than that more than likely 10-20%, even that is a lot considering there are people with thousands of items/addons/offerings they won't use and it would boost leveling characters a ton. They seem to be in a weird spot currently where they don't want to have bloodpoint gains super high again after having arguably some of the most wild blood point events in the games history.

A Sonic Scream Killer in Dead by Daylight could be a terrifying and unique addition, offering interesting gameplay mechanics. Here’s how this type of killer might work:
Killer Concept: The Siren
•Weapon: A jagged, conch-shaped blade or sharp claws.
•Power: Sonic Scream•The Siren has the ability to unleash a high-pitched scream that disorients survivors and damages their hearing.
Power Details:
•Sonic Pulse: The Siren charges her scream, sending out a wide cone of sound that disorients survivors within range.
•Effects: Survivors hit by the scream suffer from Deafened status (no heartbeat, distant sounds are muffled) for 30 seconds and experience slowed actions like repairing generators or healing by 10-20%.
•Exhaustion: If survivors are in the immediate blast, they become Exhausted and are temporarily slowed down.
•Shriek Dash: After unleashing a fully charged scream, The Siren can dash forward quickly, lunging toward survivors who are momentarily stunned by the loud blast. This allows for quick chases, but has a cooldown.
Special Ability: Echo Location
•Survivors affected by the Deafened status also have a unique sound cue that only The Siren can hear, allowing her to track them from a distance while their hearing is impaired.
Perks:
1.Echo Chamber: When two or more survivors are working on the same generator, progress is slowed by 10%. If one survivor is hit, the other survivors nearby scream and are revealed.2.Feedback Loop: For every pallet dropped within 16 meters, The Siren gains a speed boost of 3% for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 2 times.
3.Resonance: Damaging generators causes a loud bang, revealing survivors working on other generators within a 24-meter radius for 5 seconds.
This killer would thrive in disrupting communication between survivors and could create intense moments where survivors feel isolated from each other. What do you think of this concept for Dead by Daylight?
resonance just sounds like no where to hide but worse.

i know but those survivors keep annoying in the facebook comment section, in the end game chat, in the youtube cmt. Its annoying, just give them a candy or something to be worried about and they will forget about the mori in no time. And honestly bvhr will not remove the feature, ít their new money tree, unique mori. Thanks for joining me.
I pay no mind to them when playing. They will whine and complain about stupid stuff about killer but the instant you say something about survivor stuff they say "it doesn't need changed" or "it isn't as strong as you think!". I don't think the mori addition changed anything with slugging at all, people still did it for the 4k why is now any different?

And so the other 4 survivor paid for the game too. So this just a method to counter the most important thing now is the slug playstyle.
I know this will cause another trouble but it would keep the game alive, a dead game is when no one want to talk about it anymore
I think you just forget killers did that anyway for the 4k. Mori really isn't changing anything. You actually get more points for hooking someone during endgame than the mori.
-
Value wise you get a lot of information on where to go and what pallets are available still or even where the person being chased is from a pallet drop. It also has no deactivation built in like on vault or pallet drop so you just get a lot of free valuable information for 1 perk slot.

This patch has been a really problematic one for survivors with the Distortion nerf and worst part is the increase of slugging ti get the end game mori.
First of all, I’m a killer main, dont get me wrong, but even I think its annoying to slug 1 or more to go find the last survivor, its boring. But that didnt stand for others killer.
The problem here is the killer choose to slug and they are not being punish for slugging. So here its my idea to counter this playstyle.
- Basekit Unbreakable: now will be a seperate bar from the recover bar, it will goes up automatically after X amount of time, unlimited use. After getting up by this way you get the Endurance status for 30s. The bar will slowdown if another survivor come close like self unhook mechanic.
- If there are only 2 survivors left, and one being down by killer and slug, the gen will slowly repair itself and after X amount of time the speed will increase and block killer from kicking it.
- Adding control to give survivor method to sacrifice themself while in the dying state CAUSE by the killer. Sacrifice themself in this way will award the player with greate amount of bloodpoint and will not reward the killer for eliminate the said survivor.
- If the survivor sacrifice themself from the dying state and there are only 1 survivor left in the trial, all gen auto complete and there will be 2 hatch spawn in the match and the gate will slowly open itself and stopped at 99%.
- If the killer decide to slug more, all of the slug survivors can sacrifice themslelf and create more hatch.
I hope they will read this and make some change, i’m a killer main and I love endgame mori but it need to be work my ass down for that cherry on top not slugging.
The addition to the mori last survivor i don't think increased slugging, killers still did it for the 4k. The only thing i think they should have is some sort of basekit unbreakable that you can do after half bleedout and can only be done once.

not too sure then, i've not had that though i am on pc wouldn't be surprised if it's running that bad on a ps4. The game is horribly optimized and it could be a number of things just over rendering.

Are you just getting bad frame drops or something? i've had quite a bit of desync in some games. I know the servers weren't doing great a few days ago.

The Wereelk has a different one and so does Baba Yaga outfit.

I only dislike the down the second last survivor then hunt the last one like I did hate it before the change as its boring play style and in reality just waste of every ones time. Now its also those that wait for the other to die on hook to get the mori as it also wastes time. Like if they get it in normal gameplay that is fine but in the end I rarely even watch the mori even if I am the one getting moried as I have seen them so many times that there is nothing that interesting in them even when I play killer. Its like looking at the hook animation at this point. Only one I recently watched was the Dracula's new cosmetics mori because it was the first time I saw it in the match.
Can't wait for them to add more mori animations for killers so you can at least be surprised of what the mori looks like than just being the generic one for that killer.this was the case for the 4k before this was added. It was just you got hooked instead of mori'd.

There is no difference between you getting slapped up on a rusty hook than just dying to the killer. You're dead anyways. What does it matter…. They still have to use other moris if they want to pick and choose.
a lot of survivors are probably still take it personal that they get mori'd. They could also take the hook as less of a loss, basically hook = neutral loss, mori = embarrassing defeat.

again i said information functions just fine. i run the perk in memes builds and now it is somewhat viable again with dead man switch. The exposed part for nearly all exposed perks is not viable. the only two exposed perks that are any good is devour hope and haunted grounds but those are hexes perks in which i wish we could use NON hex perks to get exposed because those two are super inconsistent.
Information and exposed are fine as is for a lot of them.

I know we'll have a mixture of opinions, I will say I'm glad myself that the first discussion I saw on here was a similar point to my own but this event looked sick. The void looks awesome this time around, the new event power & item seemed fun but after 4 games of survivor (granted against killers that didn't really want to have ANY fun, make it 5 actually now), this event is a let down. I made a build without knowing certain things which then made it entirely pointless; Balanced, blood rush, second wind, otr, but in the void the build doesn't work at all, yet the killer can still use power, even gains undetectable & a new power, meanwhile if I'm even lucky enough to get one I get a smoke grenade that makes it hard for me to see too, realistic I guess but why would I use THAT.
I hate the conversation of is the game killer or survivor sided but this game mode, this event is entirely in favour of the killer, free information, buff for them outright & a total death trap for survivors. I think if I'm to play this game mode I'll be doing it on the killer side from now on. I was looking forward to this event & now this is what it's turned into. We're in it now so we won't see any changes & it's just so sad.
They tend to do that with events sadly. At least it's a separate queue and not forced in the main game now.

The dream is to have so many perks in the same tier that there is no one "meta" but many equally viable loadouts. I do think this is possible. For perks, killers, items, etc.: nerf strong and buff weak until variety is maximized.
It would be nice, but then people would still use the 4 that synergized well or whatever meta was whether it be chase, aura, or slowdown.

i wish dbd balanced perks vs good survivors and not mediocre that say every killer perk buff is overpowered. it is how you get rubbish perks like these. anyway.
The perks are more than fine, you're not meant to get a 1 hit down on a health survivor from them every time it activates. I use friends til the end in a few builds and it's pretty good for information alone.

i agree that aura reading and scream is solid for the perk but 20 second of exposed is insufficient number. hubris and friend till end should be 40 second duration. starstruck should be 45 seconds and Iron maiden should be like 90 seconds.
why? that's an absurd amount of time for exposed for how much info you get from it, also hubris would be a guaranteed down at that point even without spirit fury or enduring. I feel like you underestimate the value these perks have and why they're as low as they are. For instance with wraith it would be all but a guaranteed down with friends til the end.

and these exposed perks also need duration buff. most of killer perk needs slightly number increases…. instead we get genetic limits change and players complaining that predator is a perk.
I don't think they need any duration increase, 20 seconds and an aura read along with the scream when changing obsessions is decent enough.
-
Hard to say. All perks that give haste should be looked at closely before being released/reworked on both sides. Any little bit of haste can extend or reduce a chase by a few seconds. Hope does however have a pretty big pre-requisite to activate unlike how mft used to be.
-
@Akeeno said:
i play deathslinger and 20 seconds is not enough time to use the exposed stats effect so how is a m1 killer suppose to use it? timer always expires as i reel them. only time it would work is if survivor is literally close by. i would say 30 seconds just like every other exposed perk, such as starstruck, hubris, etc.
please survivors agree with on this one. 20 seconds is not it chief.
Hubris is 20 seconds, Starstruck is 30 but you don't get information with it. So would you prefer to just take away the aura read and give you 30 seconds exposed?

It's actually predictable because all of a sudden all the same perks are used and you sit there like which creator did this?
On the survivors side everyone uses a different blend but I have seen head on used a lot more and the one that pauses the hook.
Killer tend to stick to the same perks so it almost becomes easier to know which ones they carry and a lot don't stray from that.
oh yes i remember a week or so ago when otz released his magical unhook yourself and heal build. Was kind of annoying to deal with so i had to put on franklins.
-
It is very stale seeing the same perks over and over again, it's like seeing the same map or killer constantly. Variation makes the game more fun in general. The issue is even if the meta perks were nerfed or changed other perks would take their spot and be the new meta.
-
This is basically nerfs to some lesser used perks and over buffs or weird changes to others.
-
I think it's funny because i always have like 25-50 on survivor but survivor que is like 2 mins and killer is instant.

Open hand doesn't work on Wiretap. There are also a lot of survivor perks that are convoluted and just useless out of doing challenges.
True, The ones listed though synergize with other perks somewhat well. There's plenty of perks that are utterly useless on both sides. They seem to have been doing passes on the lesser perks as of recent with predator buff for killer and corrective action buff for survivor.

I agree there will always be less valued perks but there is no excuse for perks like Left Behind, Up The Ante, and Open-Handed to be in the state they are in. That’s just asking for the meta to always be the same perks even if they get nerfed. BHVR really needs to start looking at the less valued perks and change them to be able to somewhat compete with the meta perks even if they aren’t on the same level.
Those are pretty niche perks, they can be good if used in combo with other perks. For instance, Open-Handed with Wiretap or kindred is really good information. Up the Ante with slippery meat and a luck offering gives you a very high chance to unhook yourself, and if you pair it with resurgence + medkit you can unhook yourself and heal in a very short time. As for Left behind, it's very useful if you pair it with a key or even open handed. Obviously only really useful if you're trying to get hatch for a challenge but it's never been that great of a perk.
