Your build is meta, there's no issue with that. Maybe try Sloppy or Ruin over Whispers? Totally up to you on that one, but whispers is never a bad choice. If survivors are juking you, you're probably being too predictable. Get right behind them, like you said melee range. Try stalling your chainsaw right around 95% and wait for their 360. Once they try and 360 you, that's your chance to hit them. Also aim your mouse down a little bit (towards Billy's feet), you'll have a better view of the survivors when they try and juke you.

As for the window, I'm not sure I understand your question. Maybe rephrase it? As for Q and E, I know there's some pretty advanced moves you can do with Billy at loops, but those are pretty hard to do. I just M1 at loops honestly. I don't even see Zubat usually play like that and he's one of the best Billy's out there. Normally, use Q and E for steering across the map, but just use the mouse for normal chainsaws.

Pro tip. Instead of Q and E, use A and D to body block up close then hit your chainsaw.

    Thanks!

I will definitely practice aiming down with the chainsaw.

As for keeping the chainsaw revved at 95%, I don't really see Zubat doing that (as far as I can tell). If he spots someone, he just revs up the chainsaw without pausing and hits the survivor.

Is that because he wasn't being 360'd hard? From my perspective, it looks like his tracking is good enough to not need pausing.

As for the window question, I'll try and rephrase.
There are situations where I catch survivors out in the open. I pull out my saw and the survivor tries to jump through the window. Even though I'm close behind them, the survivor is able to dodge the chainsaw at the last second, causing me to hit the window.

Is that a situation where Billy is supposed to win or do you have to predict that they will dodge?

Moreover, sometimes I see Zubat chainsaw someone who is looping the shack.
As the survivor is heading through the doorway, Zubat pulls out the saw and catches the survivor before they can reach the pallet or window (without add ons).

Again, is Billy supposed to win this or is it all based on prediction. I.e guessing which way the survivor will fake.

Zubat is using Q and E, so he can react to sudden movements. If you use mouse only, you need some tricks to work around the wonky whip. Hold the chainsaw and see how the survivor jukes. They usually have a predictive pattern and dont change it up much. Some 360 forever, others do wiggles, some spin on the spot etc. Take 2-3 seconds and see how they move, then start the chainsaw when they're starting to turn. That's when they're most vulnerable. Keep on practicing mouse only, it may be inferior to q and e, but its honest and feels much better imo.

Those windows are predictive, you cant react and steer into him if they dodge at the last second. What works most of the time: Bad survivors take the window. Good survivors wont. If a survivors seems competent, just hold the saw and make them "dodge" the window and then you're right behind them for a normal chainsaw.

Also be patient in general. Wait with your hammer till the last moment, they may 360 a window and then you bodyblock it for a chainsaw. When they fall for a fakerev at a pallet, dont hammer him. Rev up the chainsaw and try to nail him if he keeps looping. If he turns back to the loop, bodyblock it. Try and bodyblock everything, really. Wait with your chainsaws aswell, you may get a safer chainsaw opportunity seconds later. They dodge themselves into a wall or tree and then one dodge direction is gone for an easy hit. Its all about consistency and getting chainsaws through bodyblocks.

And for your mouse settings, you need a low sensitivity to control the whip. If you're really into mouse billy and mastering him, you should probably be around 400-1000 dpi (im using 400 dpi 50%). I used to play him at 1200 dpi around the rework, but it lacks real control of the whip since its so sensitive to movement.

Thanks so much for a detailed response.

I will definitely try and catch survivors at those loops. And your window tip is genius.

The mouse setting tips are a tremendous help as well. Being mostly a Nurse main, I was used to playing on 3200 dpi in order to hit those 360s. I turned it down to 1600 but was still running into issues with the whip.

I will practice with 800 dpi from now on. Hopefully, I can start catching those 360s.
And I will certainly start being more patient with the chainsaw considering I'm only using the mouse.

I have no personal issue with using "q' and "e", it's just I can't control the killer lol.

I'm guessing you play Billy without using q and e as well?

The whole thing with q and e is to make it like a controller. I know how wipping is extremely easily overdone and the bindings are supposed to help you not over wip. Mouse is possible of course.

Ah okay, that makes sense. Hopefully, someone who plays with a mouse (no q and e) can better explain how I'm missing.

So no tips from console Billy main? Ok. (Seriously are you interested in my help even though I am console?)

Well I will answer your window question.
It's about prediction. Survivors love to bait windows they know they won't make with your insta saw. So wip away from the window last second. Another tip is you can hit a chainsaw through windows if they could be hit with M1. Rare but it happens to me occasionally. When you do Billy actually reaches through the window.

I appreciate your willingness to help, but PC is a very different animal.

  • For the most part, killers are still at a disadvantage verse good survivors.

    So yeah.

  • It's the go-to perk for toxic SWF teams.

  • Sigh

People should know by now that there are a whole sea of unskilled survivors muddying the waters.

  • A lot of killers are switching to the Enduring/Spirit Fury combo.

  • Nurse's Calling.

Killers with a smaller terror radius really benefit from NC.

  • You'll be fine.

Go ahead and buy it if the game play is pleasing to you.

  • I doubt the devs could get it to work.

  • No, get rid of DS altogether or change the effect.

    That perk is beyond infuriating.

  • Yeah, it was a tough journey for me.

I started learning her on console then switched to PC.

For me, the prospect of becoming a Nurse main kept me going.

  • I pretty much like all the male survivors.

The only female one I like is Laurie.

  • DS needs to be removed from the game immediately.

  • Dead Hard
    Self Care
    Botany Knowledge
[flex slot] - probably an anti-camp perk

  • As a gen warrior, I'd love to see a buff to Prove Thyself

    Small Game exists

    Thank you for mentioning it.

  • Survivors still run the show.

The survivor side is becoming less and less brain-dead, making it hard for survivor mains to cope.

  • There should be a killer perk that lets you call a Nurse main to help wipe out the survivors.

  • Survivors still have the advantage.

Just not as brain-dead as it used to be.

  • I doubt we will see any action from the devs.

Just do what I did. Learn Nurse and you won't have to worry about the end game woes anymore : )

  • Leatherface is notorious for generating salt.

  • Or, learn Nurse.

Survivors will basically never get the gens done again : D

  • Realistic survivor perks:

Thick Blood: While injured, press the activate button to stop bleeding for a short period of time. The perk will then go on a cool down.

Marker: You can highlight a gen or exit gate for the rest of your team. But you must interact with the object for it to be highlighted. And the object only stays highlighted for a limited time.

Likely OP perks designed for a priest/reverend/minister type survivor:

Wrath Of Heaven: Upon death, the following effects occur:

    • All survivors can see each other's auras for 60 seconds.
    • Repair and healing speed is increased by 25% for 60 seconds
    • All survivors receive the haste status effect for 60 seconds
    • The killer's aura reading is interrupted for 60 seconds

Guardian Angel: Upon death, you can take control of your spirit and aid the remaining survivors.
    As a spirit:
    -The killer cannot harm you.
-You cannot interact with any in-game objects
-All survivors receive a 10% increase to healing and repair speeds as long as you remain within 15 meters of a survivor
Your movement speed is increased to 110%

Laurie's voice actor is by far my favorite out of everyone. It's so shrill, and she sounds absolutely in pain/terrified! I've noticed with a lot of characters when they do their screams/grunts, they sound like they're smiling or trying not to laugh as they record them (Lookin' at you, Kate!).

Laurie, however, has screams that just send chills down my spine and her grunts of pain sound unflattering and distraught (How anyone would sound getting smacked with a machete and having to remain silent). I feel like people commonly make female voices in games sound soft and cute, but Laurie's is an exception. Her genuine voice was really refreshing, and apart of why I chose to main her alongside her personality in the movies and style. Too bad people see her as toxic!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeV-2o8ELJw

For instance, the scream at 0:12... Wow. THAT is a scream that belongs to a horror movie star.

I feel like it'd be a sin to not talk about the OG characters too. The actors they chose fit the characters to a T, honestly. Dwight sounds scared but determined, Claudette sounds timid and sweet, Jake sounds rugged and focused, and Meg sounds angsty and actually somewhat angry to me (I feel that fits her pretty well. I'd imagine she has somewhat of a rivalry with killers, and fights back).

When it comes to least favorite I totally agree with Feng. She sounds sorta wimpy, and not in a good way. It reminds me of a puppy begging for a treat, and it sorta throws me off lol. When I first heard it I was instantly reminded of an anime girl. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way!

    +1

Laurie has the voice of an angel.

As for the worst, I would say Kate's old voice. It was so bad the devs changed it!

  • You're my kind of guy.

I agree with everything you said.

" big, beastly and scary killers" - I understood where you were going with this ;)

  • Well, both sides I think have valid issues they complain about (killers more so).

Overall though, this game for the longest time has favored survivors.

Survivors have so many advantages and yet when they lose, whining and complaining ensues.

But i won't put it all on the survivors. As I said, they do have a few valid reasons to complain.

  • I haven't encountered killers punishing survivors that juked them.

Less looping and more juking is what I say.

What we have now is basically Tom and Jerry.

Sure, Jerry the mouse is having a blast, but poor Tom is irked to no end.

  • You'll live.

Killers have had to deal with worse.

  • I like playing survivor a decent amount.

It hasn't been fun lately because of all the disconnects.

  • There are a lot of really good survivor perks that you could be using.

  • I remember back in the good ole' days of having a bad reputation because of DbD.

Having a bad rep meant you were a good killer.

  • I'm sorry, but this game is a joke on console. And I'm not dissing consoles.

The fact is the game runs like crap on xbox and ps4.

Moreover, I wouldn't put much stock in the December optimization patch. The devs have had over a year and the game is still garbage. It's really quite sad.

I still have my Xbox One X, and I'll be checking to see if the game improves at all in December.

  • Yeah, borrowed time is pretty good.

Surprised that not every survivor runs it.

  • Nah, Nurse is fine where she's at.

  • The traps are supposed to turn your camera. That's the whole point.

  • Both Meg and Feng are not to be trusted.

  • This was painful to read.

  • I need to verse it in order to have a clear picture.

  • Yeah, I think those changes could make LF pretty scary.

Problem is he is still crippled by looping.

  • I'll give it some time.

But as of now, I'm not fond of this change.

  • Sennheiser makes awesome headsets (German company).

You should be able to find one in your price range.

You can even buy a PC headset so long as you buy a really cheap adapter to go with it.

  • Don't feel bad, most killers dislike SWF.

  • For Honor has been keeping me pretty entertained as of late, so I'm not sure if I'll give it a go or not.

  • Camping with Nurse always works : P
