  • I have to agree they're both badly used nowadays. I've never used DS, nor plan on it because I don't want a free 'immunity' to do a gen. As for BT, I run it combined with Kindred, so I watch to see the killer leave, then go for a save. BT is there in-case the killer returns. People who divebomb hooks and essentially trade hooks pretty much decide the outcome of the game imo. People who rely on DS are usually the ones who are doing said divebombing, or will make the killer chase them, and intentionally go down before the timer expires. If they just made the DS timer stop once they touch a Gen, or anything that causes interaction with other survivors, then it wouldn't be so bad. They can't cry 'Tunneled' if they managed to reach a Gen or survivor.

Pretty much. Some killers are so intent on tunneling they’ll wait outside the locker for 60 seconds or eat the stun.

I’ve said it before but if people are finding DS this much of an issue then they’re tunneling. DS rarely affects me because I usually chase other survivors.

Are you joking? I've had teams where I manage to down 2, hook them, find the 3rd but eat a DS. Am I tunneling in this case? Must be since I got DS'ed despite hooking 2 other players before going to get the final one.

  • it depends on the killer and perks tbf. Wraith can see you within 12 meters with his Add-On while Cloaked, Bitter could activate as a Gen is complete and the survivor is seen via Aura, Myer's can use Scratched mirror to Aura, or stalk with Add-Ons and see your Aura. I'm All Ears shows your Aura if you perform a loud action. BBQ could have activated and revealed you. There's many scenarios so there is no exact way to prove a killer has hacked unless you see proof of it from them. Basing it on that they found you hiding doesn't prove much really.

  • I have so many survivors who do this. If theres only 2 left and about 2-3 Gens, they'll just circle the outer edges of the map forever and the match just grinds to a halt until someone decides to put some big boy pants on and attempt a gen, or I manage to find one sneaking around. If survivors haven't touched a gen or totem for X time there should be some kind of notification to a killer because having to spend 10 minutes searching for someone who decided to locker jump because they got frightened is pretty annoying!

  • Kind of need more info than just 'It doesn't work'. Was the killers TR playing as you unhooked?

  • Let's face it. Survivors power comes from their loops and god windows. Now that they're being rearranged and changed, that said power has been lowered. So, survivors who relied solely on said loops/windows are now finding that they're having more trouble against average killers and this is a good sign imo. It's showing that now killers actually have some ability to actually slow games down instead of praying to the entity that a gen or 2 doesn't pop in the first marathon across the map. Of course, killers might have too much power from all this, hence it's a PTB and not live, so if they do have too much, at least it can be changed. But, we should also wait longer than a day before making any judgement calls on all of this.

  • For me, I stealth at the start of the game and patrol Gens. If I hear a gen I'll crouch and try get a grab, otherwise a sneak hit. During chases I shroud myself to remove the TR stain and catch them out when they're trying to use a pallet or loop. I'll very rarely actually use his Stalk since I feel it gives them a warning you're near and you're coming, and most times I get looped and the stalk ends.

  • I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of NOED, but at the same time, it can easily be stopped by destroying totems. But, at the same time, if you're solo, you can't know for sure all totems are destroyed or not. BHVR should add a Totem counter beside the Gen counter so survivors can see how many totems are left on the map. They should also notify survivors the second NOED activates, similar to how Rancor informs the obsession when it activates. At least this way, survivors can decide to either get out fast, or attempt to find the totem. Most games I just go into the match with the idea NOED is waiting at end-game, so I'll always hunt totems, but the same can't be said for everyone else.

  • I have to say, I've used this add-on multiple times and I've never noticed a huge change in shock timing. It just seems to hit survivors as normal with or without the add-on, so unless I'm just missing something, I don't get the change.

  • You still DC'd without good reason imo. Yes, it would be very annoying to have someone do that, but it's for 3 minutes. You could have just left the game for that amount of time and come back to the results screen. So really, there's zero excuse to complain you received a timeout for DC'ing.

  • Why should anyone not be given a penalty for DC'ing? A killer DC'ing denies players points and wasted time waiting for the lobby. Survivors DC'ing leaves remaining survivors 1 man down and at a huge disadvantage. Why should DbD allow you to rage quit because you don't like X reason and just let you continue to do so until you get what you want. Just play the game, if you lose, you lose. You still earn points either way.

  • 95% of my PS messages are DbD related, usually in the form of extremely colourful insults. I just laugh them off and move on. If someone has time to act like that, they're not worth acknowledging. Just don't lower yourself to their level and enjoy yourself on the game.

  • I've had many people do that on me. I'll be in front of them about to unhook and suicide. Or, I'll have survivors suicide because I'm hiding near the hook as the killer is still close by and they then complain I didn't unhook instantly. The only time I'll unhook if a killer is close is if I have BT, otherwise, no risking it! But, it just seems to be a mentality of many survivors these days.

  • Going against him is fun for me. It's fun because he's unpredictable, you don't know if he's going to teleport or come at you. If he uses Pallets, it adds the challenge of 'Is that fake or not'. It feels like you need more strategy to really face him rather than try the usual looping tactics.

  • @Deadman316 said:

Not true, I changed self care and gen repair to Triangle and throwing pallets/vaulting to Circle. I'm not sure what you're doing over there, but those two don't have to be on the same button.

This is a godsend for me. So many times I've gone to revive a teammate only to accidently pull a pallet beside them, or when someone decides to stay downed under a hooked survivor and screws me getting them off with BT. Never actually knew the controls could be changed!

If you implement mechanics to help, first person would be feasible. Like for example, in outlast you can look behind you while running. Do stuff like this for survivors and it won’t be completely impossible to win.

Oh then that'd work. Dunno why I didn't think of that. But yeah, with a way to look behind it would be pretty cool. The only time I really get any kinda scare on this game these days is if a killer sneaks up on me and grabs me. So your idea would really bring the fear back to the game!

  • You'd see nothing but 4k's and many many Pigs, Myers and Ghostfaces since zero TR = Grab since in a FPV you'd literally stare at a Gen for 80 seconds and wouldn't even realise the killer was right behind you. Maybe if the view was only during running around and not when working on gens, then I'd be down for it as a seperate mode.

I'm going the opposite way on this one; I love Doctor's chase music. His terror radius music + getting chased by him is amazing as well. I feel like they did a great job, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I have to agree. I don't find it great, but it feels like it matches his whole persona of 'Electro-shock torture'. It could have been a whole lot worse (Look at you Mr. quiet TR Deathslinger)

  • The 5% only activates if the survivor fails the skill check upon touching the gen, not when the killer kicks the gen if that's what you mean.

I mean, we were also supposed to have gotten a matchmaking fix where SWFs would go off of the highest rank player rather than the average between the group. I can verify that it still does not work this way, unless it was apparently disabled for the weekend some friends and I were actually dirty hypocrites for a few hours >:3

If it was disabled, it wasn't for too long because I got a fair few SWF groups while playing on PS4 over the weekend. But yes, SWF matchmaking doesn't match to the highest rank in that party, which I find pretty stupid personally, but survivors need those EZ Wins I guess.

  • Broken matchmaking is the cause, but there are also some survivors who will have their Red/Purple rank friends join them in SWF to essentially bully the new killers. I've had it multiple times but I'm not really new, since I transferred from Xbox to PS4 so their tactics don't work, but unfortunantly, it does for new players. And the sad truth is, this is the current state of the game since the devs are going to implement a skill-based MM system that will magically fix all these issues with matchmaking.

  • It's actually insane that it happens. I was originally on Xbox for a year, and switched over to PS4 recently, and most of my matches involve a 4-man SWF with their Rank 20-16 friend bringing in all Rank 1's. Now, I already have plenty of experience as killer since I hovered in purple rank on Xbox, so they get the shock of their lives when they realise their bully squad tactics aren't working on the 'baby killer', but the simple fact is, there are actual new players encountering this kind of thing and it could be their first ever match. Imagine how they'd feel when they just get stomped all over and think that's the entire game. And people wonder why SWF is so looked down upon!

  • I spent a year on the Xbox version and it's the worst hands down version of DbD. I switched to PS4 and you can see the major differences. Xbox seems to take way longer in loading, seems to slow down upon using the menus in lobby or Rift, and FPS drops are frequent. And as others have mentioned, there was always a weird bug with the party system where it would show one of us as not ready, or they'd be placed into a lobby for a match, but I'd remain in the main lobby as if still waiting for a match to be found. I hope Xbox gets some sort of optimisation at some point since it was said it was supposed to be done last year for console versions as far as I'm aware.

  • Unforuntly you will always get players like that during a bonus BP event. I've had my fair share which singled me out as the one to earn zero points as they let me die on hook, despite all of us agreeing (Including killer) to farm. The killer messaged straight away apologising for them since he thought they'd unhook, but as I say, you'll always get players like this. Best to just move on and hope for a better match next time.

  • DbD on Xbox was a huge pain for me. I suffered with constant frame stutters, FPS drops randomly on some maps, moments where the game literally froze for a second, the list goes on. I've switched to PS4 now, not that Dedicated servers are any better, but Xbox seriously needs to be optimised!

  • The speed boost last for a couple of seconds. It's not like it gives you the speed to shoot from one side of the map to the other instantly.

  • Tbh, since you admitted to quitting many times, I question wether you actually did crash, or you once again 'quit' because it was the Doctor you were facing.

  • It depends on the type of SWF team you face. A team just playing together tends not to be tryhard with killers, and mostly just mess around, but others can be the typical 'bully squad', Flashlights, OoO, Sabo hooks, the works. A perfect example is my recent match. I'm currently Rank 20 Killer since I just transfered to PS4 from Xbox and have plenty of experience on both sides, so I'm by no means a 'easy target', but a SWF had their Rank 16 friend match them (All Rank 2) into my match and it was clear what the intent was. That kind of SWF team that gives all SWF a bad name.

  • Lithe can be a good choice with a Iron Will combo. Get hit, vault and speed away to hide. You will be hard to find due to the speed you got, and the silence from Iron Will. You could also try We're Gunna Live Forever if comboed with Borrowed for guaranteed stacks and extra BP per match

  • They really should add a noise notification and a use bar as if doing a Gen or Gate. That way, the killer knows they're using the key, and have a chance to at least stop them. Right now it's just zero effort escapes with them.

  • If it's a toolbox, then it's supposed to run out fast, otherwise items are still working normally. I haven't had any issues with them from chests.

  • I've only used NOED in the early days of me playing, but now, I just don't bother. If survivors cleanse all totems, there's a slot gone instantly which could be filled with something much more useful. It's actually crazy how many red rank killers I see running it, which isn't bad, each to their own. But what makes me laugh more is seeing a Billy running it, alongside Haunted Grounds. As if his power wasn't enough of an Insta-Down!

  • Congrats! That must have taken some work. I'm about 80% of the way there on Xbox, though I doubt I'll ever get to it (Looking at you T3 Myers Mori!). But good work on the platinum!

Again, I'm not asking people to be depressed and stare at a wall for 15 days, you can play DBD all you want. Why a BP event?

But as I said before, I agree not to call it "The Coronavirus Bloodpoint Fest!" or something like that, but maybe "Awareness Event" or something similar could work.

I agree calling it a Coronavirus Event is pretty bad taste, but an event around it, maybe even a charity event based on goals set by the devs, would be great. With so many people going into lockdown across the world, they're going to have very little contact with friends and family beyond messaging or phone calls, so what better way than to create a fun event in a game where they can enjoy some time together, and maybe just for a few minutes, not feel the need to worry. It doesn't even need to be a double BP event. Just something where everyone can have fun, enjoy themselves and not feel like they have to worry about the crisis.

Interesting ..then that brings me to part 2..why? Why change the new killer this way as from some brutally honest feed back..he feels even worse and it wasnt feeling very good before with frame drops and already bad sense...every patch lately has been the bearer of bad news if I'm brutally honest

I just played a couple of matches as him and you can really feel the change. Just trying to aim and keep up feels so sluggish now. Even when I have the shot ready they can just move slightly and boom, you can't aim enough or they're out of range again. I get they're working with the sensitivity, but lowering an already underwhelming killer seems like a bad move to me.

  • For me, Discordance, Nurses Calling and Sloppy Butcher are very handy. Discordance lets me sneak up on a gen that's clearly getting more progress, and with Sloppy and Nurses, I can sneak up on people healing each other. The last perk is usually BBQ for me, just for the bonus BP

  • For me, I just like to use 1 or 2 survivors that I really like cosmetic-wise, and also the sound they make. For example, I love Feng, but her breathing is so loud! Jane is a fun one, but when she's injured she's taking that actress role a little too far on the pain side. So I like to play a character I like, but also doesn't give me away with OTT noise.

  • It sort of already has that effect, at least for me. When the screen goes blurry, I have trouble even making out what's actually in front of me and what's not, which isn't bad, it's a cool effect. The Blind effect could maybe be just darken the screen, rather than a full out white screen. It would certainly make Clown more challenging to go against.

  • If they did do this, 10 days seems very unfair to people who only have a couple of hours a night to play. Maybe a month would be a fairer choice?

  • @Steve0333 said:

I haven't used it yet but from its discription is sounds like a distraction perk similar to the pebble except more advanced. Definitely not a perk for newbies I wouldn't think. You have to really be smart about how you use it.

Agreed on that. I messed it up once after hopping into a locker to heal with Inner Strength, and the killer got the notification, while someone was already working on the gen, so it's a very time and place perk.

  • I'd love to see something like Community Challenges, like Surviovrs and killer have to earn X BP or X escape/Deaths. Something to just bring the community together in this time of crisis.

  • It still exists, you just need to be on the spot a killer has to be to get the prompt. I had a team block me and I couldn't get the hook on any angle.

  • SWF shouldn't be removed, but it really needs to be looked at. It's nowhere near balanced for anyone. Killers get abused by the fact they each know where you are and are going, then there is the SWF groups that are toxic toward killers. People say removing SWF will kill the game, but think about it. Whenever a toxic group abuses a killer, that kiler then leaves the game. Who's going to give you your matches at this point? Survivor times are already through the roof, and as more killers leave, it's only going to get worse. People can only take so much before they say they're done.

Reeling in t-bagging Survivors at the Exit Gate is probably the single most satisfying thing in this game. Agreed.

Oh I've had a few salty survivors who were not too happy with that. I think they forget I can drag them back as they try act cocky. The best part of it is when you see their teammates leaving. I imagine the harpooned survivor is kicking themselves at that point.

  • I just wish there was an option to remove it. It's getting annoying seeing it flashing every few seconds as I'm playing. I find it hard to beleive a green ping lobby turned into a yellow then red while I'm playing, unless the killer is using potato wifi (I'm on Xbox so no Dedicated)

  • Deathslinger because I get to shout in Scorpions voice 'Get over here!'. Also, he let's me get some extremely satisfying shots on T-Bagging hatch campers.

  • They just need to buff his speed overall really. I've been outrun around a small debris obstacle so many times it's actually annoying. If the harpoon could down survivors even when injured, it could make up for the lack of speed. Heck, even just reduce the Deep Wounds timer if you re-harpoon someone that already got hit with it. Right now, he has no real pressure or ability outside of perks to catch up to survivors easily.

  • It's actually crazy that when I play Killer, I get put against great players, but I play Survivor and I'm screwed.

I'm always guaranteed that one Claudette who MUST Self-Care in the basement/corner, a Nea Urban Evasion'ing around the map with no killer in sight, a survivor who must hook dive and die for it, and a survivor who fails so many skill checks, the killer pretty much has them on speed-dial for their location. I don't think there are many times I've ever had a decent team that works well together.

  • I had a Demogorgon waiting near a locker for me as I was healing with Inner Strength in Yamaoka. He walked away, and the TR vanished, so I assumed it was safe. Turned out he was waiting around the corner with Insidious. Best jump scare ever.

I know the map specific trophy/achievement is glitched on PS4, I've done it 5 times and no trophy, PSN says 0.0% of players have it so yeah its totally bugged to not unlock.

Seems that way on Xbox too. 0.0% have any of the new achievements. Hopefully they're fixed soon because I'm an achievement warrior!
