  • I like the idea. It would make survivors really question on using pallets as much, especially the ones who wait specifically at one just to drop it for the hell of it. I'd still prefer the usual 'Hooked once' to be active to keep things fair, depending on how fast the rage was gained, but overall, it's a good and fair idea.

  • It varies on how good other teammates are for me. I'm usually that one idiot random that will sacrafice themselves just so the other remaining survivor gets out free. I'd say maybe 60% of the time I escape, but when theres only 2 of us left, I play the hero.

  • As far as I know, the 100% boost is the max speed you can have. I've never tested, but I assume it could also be combined with Autodiadact for some insanely fast heals, but I can't confirm it works. Also, rescuing another survivor while We'll Make It is still active just resets it's timer back to 30/60/90 to use again.

I agree there is no valid counter to OoO.

Chase the OoO user? He probably is the best looper among all and gonna waste a lot of time while others pumping the gens.

Tunnel him? DS comes into play. Slug him? Unbreakable.

Leave him alone? Free information about everything you do while pumping the gen himself.

The only counter is be a stealth killer. But for other killers? I don't know.

There's just zero counter to OoO. I've had 3 matches in a row with someone running it as Deathslinger, and I just let them carry on. I know what they're doing, and I just won't bother trying. The match is pretty much decided the second you see a aura pointing at you imo. All you can do is pray you get decent points.

  • Well, restarting does make the Lore appear on Challenges, but the ones already claimed remained locked in the Lore section. Hopefully this is fixed soon!

  • I mean, they're doing their core objective, the same as you. You can't blame them for being efficent and doing gens one each. When I play Survivor now, I won't use Gens when 2 people are on it. It's not worth it time-wise. Survivors are just doing what it takes to get out alive.

  • I've only seen the maps that were changed so far. I think the game forgets that other maps exist!

All those "slugging is fine" posts. Disgusting, but shows perfectly this ugly community.

It's a tactic for killers. 1 less survivor on a Gen, meaning the others must leave gens to get to the downed survivor, thus a chain begins. The killer is taking more risk of Unbreakable doing this or Survivors just continuing on gens. There's no real issue with Slugging unless killers leave you for a full 2 minutes to die.

  • I've destroyed a full Rank 1 team as Rank 11. Rank means nothing when they play like terrified kittens. Seriously, Rank 1's HIDING in corners of the map terrified to unhook anyone. I mean, really? The only Red Ranks that are actually good are the SWF teams, and the reason for that is pretty obvious. Other than that, most high rank solos play like yellow ranks.

  • Oh, well then I guess the entire thing is bugged. I'm just basing it on a post that showed the challenges with the Lore. I hate to be THAT guy but seriously. It's bug after bug with this patch!

  • There is Lore, it's just the symbol has bugged and isn't there. But challenges that have it should still unlock it

How are you getting 2k in Deviousness?

You can only get Deviousness through bleeding and it only provides at the most 70 Bloodpoints per Bleeding Period.

    You got lucky. =]

The survivors were constantly healing each other a lot so the match lasted a while. I assume that's where my points came from

  • Yeah I noticed that a lot of the cosmetics are just reskins of ones from the store, minus charms. Seems a tad lazy for the price of the Rift.

  • Same thing happened to me on PS4. 8K in the others, but only 2k in Deviousness. And I hit a fair few hatchets throughout the match.

  • The fog is defintly thicker than normal, on PS4 anyway. I tested a theory on Custom, and we used 4 thicken mist Add-Ons. Well, it was like something from Silent Hill. Fun, but so hard to see around you well. I like the change to the fog overall. Really keeps you on your toes more now.

  • You should yes. Any purchases made on your profile (PSN/Xbox/Steam) are tied to that account on the servers, so anything purchased via Auric Cells will be there.

This is a problem that keeps on not getting solved. I used to play killer more, but now going against players that are in ranks so much higher, makes things much more annoying. I'm also a green rank killer and the matches I have are almost always against full red rank teams, who of course are much better, give me a hard time and it usually goes bad for me, so I kept not ranking up (not that I want to, but that's a fact). The other day, mean, as a survivor on red ranks went against a killer that was rank 18! I could not believe it. Of course the killer did not kill anyone and I felt bad after the match. Not that I did anything to annoy the killer, but it's just unfair and unfun, especially if the person is not that good as a killer to start with.

Same thing here. I get all Red Ranks when I'm Rank 11 killer, though some Red ranks might as well be yellow ranked the way they play. And as you say, low level/new killers being matched to red rank when your survivor is so disheartening. I never go out of my way to taunt or anything, but when I see their rank on the results, I always message them and say they did a good job and to keep at it. I'd rather they get some encouragement than go away thinking they're bad or just don't want to play anymore. But, some survivors do use this as an advantage to bully those same players, and I don't agree with it personally. We were all there one time or another, and they all deserve a chance to at least learn or practice without being tortured all match

  • I tend to be a little of both. I use Iron Will combined with Resilience to try get slight boosts to healing or vaulting during chases, but I also try use Iron Will to stay hidden a little more since I tend to panic vault and mind-game myself against a killer.

  • I had a Huntress in a previous match today that launched a Hatchet toward a unhooked survivor, which I attempted to block for her and the hatchet flew right by me and hit a nearby tree, but a second later the hit registered on me. It was a funny moment, and I just had to laugh because it seemed even the Huntress was shocked it actually hit me too.

  • It's still as easy as always. I did 1 and a half Gens, 4 totems, got chased for about 2 mins total, since I'm god awful looping. Saved hooked survivors a couple times and escaped. Managed to earn 2 pips. Other games I've had similar and died but still pip. It's insanely easy, and I really wish it wasn't because most times, I feel I don't deserve those pips.

Haha thanks I knew that hex totems are in fire, Im not new to this game, just to killer side.

    Then maybe I wasn't clear.

OK so we can't know which one is which hex... bad.

And, haunting ground hex two totems, but when I use ruin and hg for example, there are not 3 totems but 2. What's the point?

And last question, if we only hex perks, all totems will be on fire? Or there are a limit of 2 skulls in fire?

The amount of lit totems is based on your perks. So 3 Hex perks measn 3 lit totems. Survivors won't know what the Hex was till it's destroyed and are hit with either the effect (Haunted), or Ruin's status disapears. So running both Ruin and Haunted gives survivors a chance to cleanse the wrong totem and be hit with Exposed. It's a gamble for both Killer and Survivor

The Lullaby is the same, but it is now not resetting when going into a Chase. Before she stopped humming in a Chase and started again when out of Chase, now she starts where she stopped her Lullaby. And the laughing is part of the Lullaby, just quite at the end.

(Before you were only able to hear more of her Lullaby when she did not found any Survivor for a longer time)

That makes sense. I thought it was strange I was hearing more of it. Never knew she laughed in it. Actually adds a creepiness to her now and I love it

If your objectif is to win and run all meta perks, yes, the game is toxic, but if you play what you like, you will see, it's an hilarious game.

Since I ran my own build, without meta perks, with my own playstyle, I don't necessary do gens, you will see, the game start to be very very fun 😉

Couldn't agree more. I've never used meta perks, apart from BT, but other than that, I like to mix up my perks, test out some new builds that work for me. I usually just do a gen or 2, totem hunt, treasure dive and try avoid being downed in chases. Even if I lose and end up dead on hook, I feel doing more than just gens and leaving is way more fun, and lets the game last a little longer. I also only play solo, so sometimes it's tricky to do this since you still get randoms who will focus solely on gens, but that's more points from totems for me I guess.

  • Wraith's cloak animation has also changed to seem slower with the bell ringing. And it might just be me but Huntress also seems different. Her lullaby seems much longer than before, and as she carries a survivor she laughs. I swear I have never heard Huntress laugh as she carried a survivor before.

  • I just had a match as Billy and there was no issues for me. Though I don't use him a ton, it seems all normal for me. Sound was fine, and his usual cooldown of missed/bumped chainsaw sprints. I'm on PS4.

I already said this 3 weeks ago here

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/142644/this-patch-isnt-good-and-here-is-why

This patch is making the game gen rush or die. and eveyone even killers will understand after time this is not a good change.

It's taken me 3 matches to see how survivors have gone to winning matches easily. No matter what, they all now stand on seperate Gens, and I'm no genius here, but it's impossible to stop the other 3 as you chase 1. All my games so far have ended in all 4 escape, or 1 death. I like the changes to the maps, but the changes to gens didn't do anything imo. If anything, the matches seem to end way faster now.

  • Same issue here, on PS4. Only thing I can think of is that we need to wait till tommorow, for a 'Fresh Log-in' when we get our daily 500XP First Match bonuses.

  • It's actually nice to see at least someone appreciates the time and effort the Devs have put into their game. Sure, there are bugs. Yes, some things will fail, but that's just a part of developing games and their updates. Too many people are quick to judge and only point out the negative, but don't take a moment to think 'Yeah, I'm happy these devs have continued to support the game I love'. And especially in these current times with the world in chaos, the Devs are working harder than before to keep us with a game we love to play. So to all the BHVR members, I say thank you!

  • My PS4 has done this since I bought it. Title screen, Archives and Lobby waiting (Pre-Match 60 second one) each make my PS4 sound like it's pretending to be a plane. The only game I own that causes it to do it too.

  • Matchmaking has been this way for months. Unfortunatly, you'll either have to continue playing with this matchmaking, or wait who knows how long for them to implement the new matchmaking.

  • I wish I had your gates honestly. Most of my matches usually have the gates on oppisite sides of the map, so I have a 50/50 chance to figure out which one they headed too before it's too late. But I would prefer the gates to be a little more varied, since when they get placed close together, the killer can just stand on one spot and watch for the red lights, and to a single survivor, that's pretty much game over.

If anything, my reasoning on forcing myself to stay is because I don't want to miss out on much.

Going to give a bad example here, please don't hate on me (because of the game I chose), but I have the Battle Pass on Fortnite too and I literally have no motivation to play that either, kind of like Dead by Daylight. And I'm far from Tier 100. It's like I wasted V-Bucks on nothing.

I don't want it all to go to waste just because of burnout.

I'm the same. I bought the Pass for the recently ended Tome and grinded the hell out of it, just because I knew if I didn't I'd leave the game for a while and not return in time. Now, I like to play every few days, but from now on, I won't be grinding out the pass. At least Fortnite has extended their season so it gives me a change to slowly make it to 100 since I lost all motivation to touch that game for more than 1 match.

What if they added the possibilities of lobbies? So randoms can join you and etc too?

That would actually be pretty nice honestly. I feel like, if there was a MM to custom games, then at least people could just freely enjoy themselves. They wouldn't be losing any items/Add-ons so everyone could just experiment or just mess around. Right now, killers barely get a chance to try before they realise gens are going like crazy. There's no real chance for inexperienced players to really get a feel for the game, especially with the way MM is at the moment.

  • I wish they would just turn the Custom Game/KYF mode into a sort of offline mode. Let people add Bots to the game then they can freely practice without any issues, and since it's custom, there wouldn't be points so theres no real downside. There's bots in the tutorial so it is possible for them to add them. Honestly, it would really help new players, or even players who buy a new DLC and want to practice before facing an actual challenge in-game.

  • Toxicity is pretty much the norm with this game, and it's a sad fact that it is really. I had a match earlier on PS4 as Hag where I managed to mori the entire team via Devour Hope. The response was extremely colorful to say the least. Too many survivors have the mentality that they must win 100% of their games, otherwise the killer is a camping tunneller. I do get some nice responses from some, so there is some hope for survivors at least.

  • Every match against Survivors, I'm guaranteed to see at least 1 survivor have Adrenaline, DS, BT and Dead Hard or Lithe. Others usually have something similar, with Self-Care mixed in. For killers, I rarely see PGTW anymore, it's usually now Corrupted or NOED.

  • For me it depends on the circimstances. If they manage to get the gate open and they're all pretty much alive, I'll down someone and carry them to the gate. I know a loss when I see it. However, if theres 1 survivor who's clearly lacking in any contribution, EG: The stealth corner survivor, then they're going to die hands down. As for the hatch, usually I let the final survivor have it as a act of kindness. I'm a merciful killer sometimes.

  • This has just become the normal night for me on this game in recent weeks. Every match as survivor it's just rainbows and it's always a low rank killer. Playing as killer is the same. Always red ranks mixed with low ranks. I mean, how can BHVR continue to let this go on? This should be a clear sign that the game is severely broken in matchmaking! Yet, we hear nothing about it, beyond the 'fix' they announced way back at the start of the year.

  • Whenever I see a Survivor T-Bag me at a Vault or Pallet, I just take it as some kind of morse code of 'Tunnel me harder'. They soon quit the butt dancing pretty fast!

  • @Lexilogo said:

You unlock them for 100 Dwight, Meg, Claudette and Jake kills respectively, they're those Survivor's faces for Bubba's mask. It is extremely old and it's been with Bubba ever since he launched.

Seriously? I never knew this. I've never owned Bubba and I've never seen a Bubba with a different face. Might buy him just to grab these for the lols. It's a shame they don't add the newer survivors to this list. Would give a little more incentive to play Bubba, even if it is just for cosmetics.

  • I have to agree, the TR of killers lately seems way too quiet. Deathslinger is a huge one with this. When I'm on a Gen, I can just about hear the music and usually get a harpoon for the trouble of not realising soon enough. They should either boost the TR music slightly, or lower the Gen noise sound since once that thing gets going, it's tricky to hear anything else around you.

  • I've never camped or tunneled, and yes, a fair few games end in 0 kills, but at least it was an enjoyable match. I don't see the point in playing if you're just going to stand having a staring contest with a survivor. Zero skill is needed to do that. Just play the game, if you lose, you lose. We can't win them all and far too many killers have this mentality that they must win. And sure, survivors may be toxic at times, but I bet they also appreciate the fact they can have some interaction with the killer too. It's not all about slamming out gens and getting 4k's. Some of us just enjoy the challenge and chases more than actually getting kills.

  • I like the idea of the second one. Perhaps make it a new perk on a new killer, and have it act like Overcharge with a difficult skill check that when failed causes the survivor to go into Deep Wounds or something.

Another idea I'd been thinking of was have survivors gain gen repair speed based on their contributions, so have it slowly rise to the current speed from something like -25% less. The more a survivor contributes toward a Gens repair, the more speed they start to gain. It wouldn't be ideal, but it could certainly weed out the survivors who like to let everyone else do the work and just wait to use a key/get a free hatch escape.

  • The only issues I have atm is when a killer downs another player or picks them up, I lag for a slight second. Not sure if it's their connection or something, but most matches run fine otherwise. This is on PS4.

  • @53nation said:

I hit survivor rank 9 last weekend and.. just sorta made a hard call to stop and not get into purple rank before reset.

The odds of rough teammates increase in yellow/green ranks, but I've never waited more than 5min for a match. It's unfortunate bc I'm pretty sure i could get rank 1, but eh.

I'm in the same boat honestly. It seems the higher you go, the less matches you get as survivor, and I hate it since I always seem to get matched to absolute potatoes. Purples literally cowering in a corner despite me running Kindred, yet a Rank 16 is in beast mode. I do enjoy the game, but matchmaking is so damn broken and we're still waiting for the magical skill-based MM to appear!

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

This one is only for one map but on the top floor of disturbed ward theres an opening in the floor you bait a swing then dead hard back and make the killer fall down

You can do the same on Hawkins too in the upstairs section next to the Gen room. Can't tell you how many salty killers I've produced from that!

  • @carolinadame said:

I'm having the same problem, I already sent tickets to them waiting for a solution, I can't finish any game and it happens to fall, I have a ban on my main account for 48 hours, I feel wronged ... it never happened before

I've had the same happen on PS4. Just playing away as killer and in the middle of a chase 'You require an internet connection' and boom, DC's me to the title screen. Luckily it doesn't happen frequently, but the fact it happens at all, despite the internet connection being fine since my PSN remains online says DbD Servers are slightly broken!

  • @KingFrost said:

My internet is slow, but this never happens to me as far as I know. Then again, my ping is usually good despite my crappy internet. I never play with yellow or red ping. Are there really people out there with worse internet than me playing this game? My speed is only 2.3 mbps.

I have around the same speed internet and I suffer very little to zero lag. It seems a lot of killers are using VPN's to mess with Dedicated Server connections and causing themselves to lag for survivors, meaning you get downed with their minds since they're about 30 feet away. Honestly, anyone who feels the need to cheat like this must be complete garbage at the game.

  • As much as I love new characters, Survivors are just reskins of each other and the perk grind is just stupid. New killers are always a boon to the game for more variety but again, too much grind. I find myself just remaining on survivors and killers who I already have perks unlocked for, rather than face spending 2m BP

  • Pig's Traps can be skill checked because it's essentially a 'Survivor interaction', like Gens or Healing. Hitting a Great gets the helmet off faster, since they only have 60 seconds to find the correct box after a Gen completed and the helmet activates. Demos Portals don't harm a Survivor, they just allow Demo to teleport around and take less time to seal, especially if another survivor is helping.
