Or Rift challenges.
Yes to this. The amount of times I've left a trial and I had 1 left of my objective because I miscounted. It'd be a handy feature to have.

As I was reading your comment, I just got into a game where 3 people used cakes. Feels bad man...
I'm seeing a lot of them on PS4. They either don't know about the issue, or they just want that extra 140%. They're not too bad to use if someone on the team uses a party streamer alongside it, but it's mostly event cakes I see.
-
It's not just SWF that are doing it to be fair. I've had too many matches today with Solo players who get the crown, then proceed to sneak around waiting for us to each die on hook while they sit on the hatch. It's a pretty low way to earn a cosmetic when others in the match could also want to get it too. Events like this really do bring the worst out in people.
-
I'm saving all mine up right now. I'd prefer the stacking effect over 40% more than a normal cake, which is also now bugged. If the event cakes don't get a fix close to the end of the event, I'll just throw them all into matches.

Wow, just wow. As a huge SH fan, this is just insulting.
-
I've given up getting the crown on all my characters. I got it on my killers because who's going to care that a killers just wandering around the entire match. But Survivor is just a joke. The second some killers see you have a crown, they go into some kind of rage that makes you know, you ain't leaving with it.

@Bovinity said:
The SWF groups are doing it intentionally.
Set up a group that's 1, 1, 1, 20 and you'll get matched against rank 20 killers.
They know it, we know it, BHVR knows it, but since Killers aren't viewed as real players none of those three groups actually cares.
This. I get this crap all the time. My killer is always hovering around Rank 10 since I get this abuse to MM every damn day. And it's ALWAYS obvious it's a SWF when the results shows all Rank 1, and that single Rank 16 just sitting there. It's broken MM and it's SWF abusing the broken MM. But, the devs just allow this to continue, because 'SWF are a tiny part of the game players'. Yet, if that's true, why do I see them every single match?
-
It's not just DbD that is toxic. Anything that can have an internet following will always produce people who find ways to be toxic. Moreso because DbD is an online game, and people get enjoyment from acting toxic toward others. They thrive on the attention they gain because, as long as a screen exists between you and the other person, they'll feel powerful. And as long as the internet exists, and keyboard warriors reign supreme, it'll never stop. You just gotta keep hoping that you'll encounter some decent players who are just playing for fun and won't act like toxic keyboard warriors.
-
Let's face it, any single game that has an event where somebody can deny you said unlockable, will do it, just because they can. Wether they just think it's funny or they just don't want anyone to have it, it's going to happen. Me personally, I've actually shown survivors and killers the crown and they've been pretty decent about it. So there's at least some hope that some people can be nice.
-
I just had this against Clown, but without a crown. Literally, he would just dart for me instantly the second he saw me. Looped him a while, and hooked. Unhooked and he darted right after me, ignoring the injured Kate beside the hook. After he finally killed me, he didn't do it to anyone else. Really baffled why people are acting this way lately.
-
Are you only just realising this after nearly 4 years? Of course it's survivor sided. Why do you think killers hate going there?

I heard they intentionally disabled it. Either to limit harassment messages,or because of crossplay coming up. Can you confirm it's a bug?
No source or anything, just by what multiple people have said on here in the forums.
-
The not being able to access player profiles is 'a bug' on all platforms. The same as the bug with peoples loadouts not appearing. The pip bar I can't be sure since I just skip right past all that and check my BP scores.
-
He's not amazing overall, but in the right hands he can mess you up badly. I main him as killer and I'm far from the best Deathslinger player, but I can pull off some pretty neat trick shots when a survivor thinks they're safe. I guess it comes down to how well you can play them. I'm great as Deathslinger, but give me a Huntress and my hatchets will be flying 30m's beside you. My aim is god awful as her.

Nope. It's a 7% MS increase. So you move at 4.28 M/S with the buff. for a 2.8 meter total advantage.
Still important, every meter counts after-all, but 150% would be busted.

No, the haste you get is 7 %. So instead of 100 % you're running at 107 %. It's still good for looping, but you're not moving at 150 %.
Oh, MB, I just assumed it was like Adrenaline's Haste effect. Guess it's just a more temp Hope effect.

barely noticeble and still slower than the killer . very situational in use too. only when the killer might approach you when you just finished off your heal.
How is it barely noticable? You go at 150% speed, more than a normal speed killer. And it's for 10 seconds, enough time to get distance between you both. It's extremely handy if you use it corectly.
-
The crowns unlock a Head cosmetic for any original survivor or killer (Non-License). Survivors have to escape with it, and killers just have to end the match as normal.

So I've played 3 matches, 2 on autohaven and on autohaven I could find one almost every tile and in Haddonfield, there were 0, I must mention that Haddonfield was chosen with an offering.
They do spawn there. My friend and I played earlier and he found 2 spots. It just seems the locations are extremely random
-
From what I've heard they are actually stacking, but only a 4% bonus, not the 104% it's supposed to
-
Basically it appears randomly anywhere in the map. I'm not sure how long it remains in place, but after a set time, or someone collecting it, it will respawn somewhere else
-
I just wish they'd make it a little more obvious to find. I spent an entire match searching as Killer on Dead Dawg Saloon, and when I finally found it, it just teleported away.
-
I've had more cakes than anything. Had 1 Medkit show up, but no other event items. I just want the cakes overall. Grinding with these cakes will help P3 my favourite characters a lot quicker.
-
Whenever I play bonus BP items, I pretty much just let them all farm points. I'd rather we all get a good amount of points than someone wasting their item and getting less. It's just a shame that there are still killers who just go super tryhard. Events are supposed to be a fun time for everyone. Right now, it's more torture, especially since this stupid crown thing is in the game.
-
@xenotimebong said:
It’s not too bad. Once I grind out my killer crowns I’ll probably just let the survivors with crowns escape as well. I had a killer do this for me earlier too. Once people are used to how the event works I think more people will chill out a bit and just have fun with it.
I can only hope for this. So far I've had nothing but mega tryhard campers. Even when we all used BBP items. All I want is a crown, and that hope is really dying fast. Entity seems to be doing it's job right!
-
Chances are, this was a MM abuse. A Red ranked SWF who uses a yellow rank as leader to get 'EZ games'. It's sad but I get it all the time on my games. I don't understand why people do this. An ego boost because they crushed an inexperienced player?
-
I'm really confused how this crown thing even works. Do we have to play as one of the 4 orginals to get it or do we get it just from picking it up as anyone. I had it as Laurie and a Cherly also had one, but we died in the trial.
-
I main Deathslinger so speaking from experience here, you pretty much taught the survivor a lesson. I've done it a few times myself. Survivors like to get too cocky and think just because the exits right there, they're basically free. What they seem to forget is Mr. Cowboy can pull you away from safety and hold you there. So, it's on the survivor for staying knowing there was a chance to be killed, all because they felt the need to 'rub it in' about getting away.
-
I'd be ok with them being on the Rift, but outright buying them is pretty much just Pay to Win to me. At least with the Rift, you're playing to earn them by earning the experience for the Rift itself
-
Matchmaking seems to be working as intended then. Seriously though, this has gone on since last year. I get matched to ranks way higher than my own as killer, and see lower ranks as a survivor. They're just waiting to roll out the Skill based matchmaking, the 'magic fix' to all of it. Wether it works or not is another question.
-
Not 100% on this, but I think they said before the Rift was released that all cosmetics that were on the Rift will go to the Shop in the future for Auric Cells.
-
I always run Inner Strength, combined with Iron Will so I can make a quick escape and have a heal ready. I'll usually let survivors heal me, but sometimes time is of the essence and a few seconds is a better choice over the killer seeing/hearing the sounds of healing.
-
I always choose Inner Strength over Self-Care. A few seconds in a locker and boom, done. Self-Care is like a target on your back since a Killer could have Nurses, or be a Stealth killer. When I play Killer, I adore Self-Carers because they never see me coming.

But I mean is he dead or MIA in his universe? Keeping timelines/lore from source materials intact is like, the Prime Directive of DbD. If he's still in use it's a no-go. Is Jill still active in that world as well? She'd be my first pick also but I dunno if removing her from her universe would upset things.
I suppose it depends on the timeline of when she's taken. If she was taken around the Racoon City events, then yes, the timeline would be a little messed up since she gets kidnapped by Wesker in 5. However, if it was after those events, then I guess it's fine since she's not really seen after the events of 5.
-
SWF like this are the most altruistic players you'll ever meet, and if you should even think about interupting them while they rescue in front of your face, well you're a bad killer! Honestly, if you weren't just running down a unhooked survivor instantly, then you're playing normally. SWF's egos can't take a beating. When it does, their inner keyboard warrior emurges.
-
@SpookyStabby said:
######### yes! Although... I gotta ask... in terms of Lore, where is he(Nemesis)? Entity seems to grab people/creatures that wont disrupt their timelines. And who would the survivor be that the BH/RE universe could spare?
Well since the Entity essentially deepens dark feelings in a person until they're finally taken. Nemisis was a bio-weapon, and his only objective is to hunt down STARS members, making him a perfect killing machine as all he will do is destroy whatever stands in his way. Jill Valentine suffers with PTSD after the Arklay Mountains incident and the Entity could manipulate that within her to deeper her fear of becoming a zombie, thus, making her far easier to kidnap. I think they'd both be a pretty good fit for DbD and I really hope that somewhere down the line, Capcom hand over the rights for her. I mean, Resistance isn't exactly breaking any records right now in terms of Asymetrical games.
-
What's his power going to be? Jumpscare us to death? Sorry, but I'll take Ghostface doing that anyday. Fnaf had it's moment in the spotlight. And as much as I love Fnaf, it doesn't belong in DbD whatsoever.
-
I think it varies on time of day more than anything. For me, Killer matches on PS4 seem to take about 5 mins waiting during the day, but later in the day, they're pretty instant. Survivor remains the same most times with 5-10 mins waiting.

Gen rush? Hell I'd settle for being able to find a gen.
Man sometimes I wonder if Gens even exist on this map sometimes. Everytime I've gone to this level I seem to just sightsee around the school, taking in the nostalgia because I somehow manage to walk through the same room multiple times without realising I just went in a huge circle. But, it's a fun map anyways.
-
It's not really a great idea. You'd want the devs to implement a system that locks a character for a week despite some of them being characters we paid for. Yeah, that's not going to happen. They'd be literally denying us the ability to use the content we paid for. Now, if DbD was a Free to Play game, and all characters were free, then sure. But as long as we have to pay for killers and survivors, then nope.
-
That's good to know. I just saw that challenge, and thought it was going to be a grind, but if Ruin is counting it, maybe Surge can too? Makes it a little easier.
-
Dead by Daylight was released in 2016, Spirit was released 2018. Silent Hill's film was released 2006. Clearly just a huge conicidence.
-
Not 100% but I think it has been a bug for a while. I've encountered it myself where the killer seemed to have DC'd, and when I messaged the other survivors, only 2 of us got the same results screen, the other 2 were still in the match.

That's literally what the mobile game does every weekend. Sad that the main game can't do the same. Personally I would like to not run BBQ every single match but since I'm a newer player, it's the only thing I have in the way of being able to accrue more bloodpoints so that I can get the perks that I want.
I agree there. It kinda sucks that we have to use a perk to try earn more BP in a match, and even then, the perks don't guarantee you'll get the bonus. BBQ needs you to hook each survivor for the full bonus, and survivors must safe unhook for theirs. And sure, we also have the BP offerings, but again, it's not like we have those thrown at us. I really hope they add more ways to earn more BP, beyond the Rift and Daily rituals.
-
I went against a hacking Hillbilly last night on PS4. He was lagging around for all of us, he instantly knew where we each were, and sure, you ccan say 'BBQ Perk' but even when we hid in a locker, he knew exactly where to go. But what made it so painfully obvious was the post-game results. Last time I checked, Hillybilly doesn't throw hatchets, right? We all reported him, and I managed to record the entire match, but if hackers can just as easily invade PS4 as they can in PC, what are we supposed to do anymore?
-
IMO, he's not great. He's good sure, but not great. His power is easily avoided which negates a large part of him. But, even if you do manage to torment someone, the cage seems more punishment to him, than the survivors. The cage is always guaranteed to spawn oppisite PH at the other end of the map, where you can guarantee a Survivor is nearby, which in turn offers zero pressure. His Instant mori is extremely handy but again, extremely situational. His ranged attack can be good at a pallet, but he suffers harshly for using it, allowing a survivor to easily gain ground and escape. Overall, he is a fun killer, but not one that can be said to be strong.

This seems to always be happening with my random teammates.
Yeah it's unfortunate but I've had many teammates who just stay in an open area healing each other while he just watches on. I've done it myself as the killer himself. Some survivors just don't pay attention and that can be the downfall for the entire team.
-
Best advice is stay alert at all times. You'll either hear his breathing close by, footsteps, or he'll be standing a distance away. Always try do a Gen with some kind of cover blocking you. Try to use obstacles to avoid his stalk in chases. But, you also need to hope the teammates you have don't let him feed constantly too.

I would be perfectly happy if bhvr would incorporate blood hunt events every weekend, or at the very least every month. Hopping into this four year old game can be quite daunting for newer players considering the massive grind that lays before them.
I like the idea that they just hold a DBP event each weekend. You'd see far more players playing at that time because a lot more people come to the game to earn BP. Or they could even just add a system that each day spotlights a single survivor and killer that would earn more BP. It would maybe incentivise players to start using other killers/survivors and changing up how they play, rather than the usual stick to 1 single killer/build.
-
I can't tell on this. On PS4, you can still access players profiles in the pre-game lobby, but post-game you can't. It might be intended to stop the toxic messages, but console can still access the profiles via the 'Recently played with' menu.
-
Oh man, this is priceless. We need to see more pics of this kind of thing. This has made my day now!
