Yeah so an unnerving presence doctor can be used by every killer main and as soon as you get hooked and struggle you die, not to mention all the latency issues this game already has , it would honestly make me throw the game away because it’s not as much difficult to hit skill checks as much as it would get annoying really fast and the times where I did get screwed by latency or something totally out of my control I would be doneSkillchecks are clientside and not affected by latency. If you cant hit unnerving presence skillchecks, then you need to practice a bit more I guess

From catch, to unhook, hook, cleansing totems... this game mode gives you +50%BPs great dealI dont understand why totems dont have skillchecks anyway.
But I dont see a reason to put skillchecks on unhooking/hooking. Skillchecks on the killerside would be pretty devastating since you have to take care of a lot of things already. Also I believe the way how skillchecks work needs to be reworked

Does anyone else think its a little ridiculous that the payer beads bracelet removes the phasing sound? It is impossible to tell if she come to your gen so she gets a free insta down if they're people on that Gen. I think that this add on should be removed, I think it is way to OP and removes the ability to guess on how to react to her.Use Premonition or Spine Chil to counter her. (mind you, I'm only rank 10, but still... seems a bit too easy when I barely have to try as killer and have to work my ass off just to die as survivor.)
Footage of you playing against a competent SWF?
Oh rank 10.... nvm, i can 4k pretty much every game there too if I want

Maybe gens get done fast because the killer is too busy camping to put pressure on the survivors?
Go watch rank 1 streamers play killer. Notice how they're too busy chasing someone every second to be camping. You don't need to camp/tunnel to win games. There's a mental barrier around purple ranks that people struggle with in this mindset.
Camping is basically a killer saying "well you guys are too tough for me, I'm done, I'm just gonna get this guarenteed kill instead".
I do, happens quite regularly that at least 2 gens pop during the first chase. But yeah what an idiot baby killer without brain, why did he follow the survivor into the loops, such a camper, git gud

Stop throwing in random terms. If he camped you, then you woudnt have get tunneled, you would have died on the first hook. Then another classic lagg excuse and the classic ragequit in the end. -

no the game had just started and he decided to go after me and didnt want to leave i hate killers like that because i cant climb back down to low ranks.
killers camp for 1 reason and you probably wont like it. its because in high ranked matches or any game really the amount of hooks a person can endure is too much therefore one of the best strategy is camping survivor until hook phase 2 to ensure they dont become altruistic when rescued yeah its no fun but it is required to win against sfws
im a solo surv and i almost never see swf
Almost every game has at least one SWF group now.

You might wanna look into deranking, but I dont know how to situation is at lower ranks either because I decided to take a break after the halloween farming event

I actually have avoided pipping up to far. And from the streams I've watched, the sentiment is mutual for killer mains. I see a lot of people trying for black pips in green and purple ranks just to avoid gaining rank.
Me personally, when I decide to play, I do something like : Hag or clown (my faves on pc atm) then something I don't play because i'm almost certainly going to depip since almost every game i've been getting has been really hardcore SWF groups.
The problem is that even though I'm not taking the depip games to seriously, they are. And man do they treat me like utter crap for that time. Which makes me go back to hag, get a 4k, and hate myself for double pipping.
IE: Last night i Played Nurse. I'm really bad with her. The group ended up being a 3 or 4 man, not sure. And the last guy decided he was going to run loops with me for 5 minutes after everyone escaped.
I d/ced, and reported him for taking the game hostage (i couldn't hit him, and he knew that and he was just trolling me)

Yes, which is why we specifically dont share post game info if someone dies and dont hardcore troll. It's more of a "oh ######### hes on me" "lol sucks for you!" And being In the same game as opposed to everyone in their own solo talking about seperate games. Obviously theres a "I dont hear heartbeat you're probably safe" or "hes face camping me just go live your life". Even then, you fight a tryhard swf 4 man. That's GREAT practice. The best teacher is getting the ######### beat out of you and learning how to improve.
I have played SWF too. You alwasy share info via voice comms, even if you are not that "swat squad" like the depip squad

For the longest time that I have been playing Dead by Daylight, I've been dealing with rage quits from both Survivors and Killers. So, despite me enjoying being a Killer, I just do not appreciate seeing a Survivor rage quit on his team of other Survivors and I am sorry to anyone that finds this annoying, although you have to admit this is starting to get out of hand. Moreover, sometimes I like to let the last Survivor escape due to my cool hunt and enjoying the game for fun. Above all, I do wonder if DEVS are really paying attention to a lot of this nonsense and trust me, even as I play a Survivor, sometimes I notice some work with the Killer and some just drop the game. (regardless of disconnection, I see it more common on being caught by a Killer and rage quit.)
######### happens when DCing isnt punished, especially in competitive (semi-competitive) games. Thats why every other competitive game has DC punishments of course to prevent palyers from DCing. I dont know why BHVR doesnt understand that

if it wastes more time as a killer than yes lol. I think the main issue with being tunneled as a survivor is that you don't waste as much of the killers time as a chase and helping your team with objectives. If more time is wasted then the team can succeed more effectively. Killers can also use this as bait for other survivors to come in.
So you want to remove the only time efficient method for the killer such that you have more time for gens?

Lazy programming.
I'm starting to question why you're here when at this point you're just insulting the people who make the game.
It's not lazy programming, it makes sense. They're not the last Survivor alive when hooked onto their second phase, therefore why would the game recognize it and treat it as such? It's supposed to treat it as a second phase as long as there's 2 survivors alive.
Though, the people who do linger is those situations, are people who just want extra 800 BP (Waste of time but eh)
Why would the game recognize it? Well the game WOULD recognize it if the implementation was done properly.

We would need all sorts of animations (hiding places) for that and the devs even scraped the DS rework naming the reason that they would have to redo its animation.
Will the survivors aura be exposed if he leaves his hiding place during the game?
Personally, I couldnt see myself playing such a mode. Poor BP and probably really boring to check every dark spot on the map, I already made experiences like this when survivors held the game hostage in the endgame^^

The irony that killers say that looping is a unskillful thing to do, but yet they say tunnelling and camping is a strat.Oh no the survivor is trying its best to not get hit and survivor (killer proceeds to keep chasing this survivor instead of breaking off to check gens and go for others) 3 gens pop on and now killer finally catches the survivor and then proceeds to camp them because of a stupid excuse of 3 gens going off when they could've avoided it by leaving that survivor.
But I do understand when a killer has no choice but to camp at the end when gates are open but some games you'll get those killers who are purposely coming in with intentions to camp ppl and when survivors realize they'll gen rush and leave and then killer will complain about gens going to fast.
You know what.... I'm done.
Camping is unskilled too, nobody claims different.
Tunneling is just how you choose your target, it has nothing to do with skill or unskill. So you say its the killers fault that the game is designed the way that a survivor can loop for several gens? Yeah how could he dare chasing that survivor, he better uninstall
If you dont understand that this is exactly the core of the problem, then im done too

Current balance SWF >> killer > solo
All killers have heartbeats, but there are perks that remove it temoporarily. Also myers has an addon where he keeps in T1 the whole game and has minimal terror radius.
Yes the hitboxes at pallets are broken. The pallet stuns me even if I stare at it, dropping in front of me down. Pallets have larger hitboxes than the actual geometry, but it is what it is.
Yes you can hit through windows, there is no magical shield (that has always been the case btw)
You need to approach the window in the proper angle to get a fast vault.
Nope killers are at the same speed as always

If the survivors hide all game instead of doing gens, 10k can happen
If the survivors hide all game then they're not doing gens so in order to get out they have to come out of hiding. They come out of hiding you find them chase them, down them, hook them =profit. Now guess what you've got way more than 10k and you'd only get 10k for a match if you're playing badly.
In order to come out they have to come out??
If the survivors want to hide in some corner with their stealth cosmetic, then they can and in those games 10k for 15 minutes soudns quite realistic -

I am seriously trying to get my skill up with Nurse so I don’t just have this useless character hanging out in my roster that I never use. I know that will have plenty of you crying blasphemy and protesting that she is greatest ever. I simply have not experienced this AT ALL. For one, I play PS4 so I think the degree of accuracy I get out of her blink is minimized even after cranking up the sensitivity. From what I understand tactically speaking she more of a long range ambush character, pinpointing Survivor locations and blinking to score hits since chasing is useless and the fatigue gives them a chance to break line of sight. I’ve been running Insidious to capitalize on this, but at this point I’m honestly looking for feedback—tips, tactics, builds, anything other than “git gud”. I’m not looking to whine about it and I’m not claiming to be some great player, but I’m looking to get excited about using her again... thanks.Try upping your sensitvity up the maximum. Thats what other console nurses have suggested
Doesn't work I tried it back when I used to play on xbox. It doesn't help at all. Hopefully in the console patch they'll buff her in console to be as strong as Nurse on PC since she's unplayable on console. The slower turning really hurts her and Huntress.
I highly doubt that they will do two builds of the game
-
One thing I dislike about save the best for last is that you basically have to ignore the obsession.
Sure, with your suggestion you dont NEED to ignore certain players, but basically you want to. Also it is the obsession you want, not a non-obsession as in save the best for last. That leaves a "meh feeling" in my mouth if you knwo what I mean

Also since its an exposed status, the information would be given away as usual.....
Another thing, dying light currently slows down the game, your suggestion would speed it up instead and generally I prefer to have slower games. Currently we only have ruin (hex rng) dying light and pop goes the weasel (very situational) to slow down gens, dying light is the only reliable option atm (I still dont use it btw^^)

He has a point though.
And you know, the sad part is that all this "optimal play" only become a thing with SWF.
Back in the old days of DBD when SWF didnt "abuse" voice comms we died a lot more even though we had infinite loops, but it was still more enjoyable than the gameplay right now. -
@Avariku said:
I've mentioned this idea before and it always seems to get shot down, but I still don't fully understand why.if they had an in-game comms system that operated by radius(only able to speak to/hear those close to you) it would fix a lot of the issue.
players couldn't convey information from across the map as easily, they would have to shut up when the killer is nearby (realistic), and it would open comms up for non-swf players as well.
yes there would be toxicity issues, but that's what a mute/report function would be used for.
Discord is just superior.
We need ingame voice comms that work over the whole map and that the killer cant hear.
Then the game can be balanced properlySure, in an immersive horror game it would be better to have radius and that the killer can hear you, but please face it, DBD is not that kind of game

You have to pass a certain (high) percentage of DC/total games within a certain amount of time, then the system will trigger and you will get banned for some time that increases if you already got banned.
That rate is quite difficult to pass though and besides of that, there are no punishments at all. Thats the reason why DCing is pretty common in DBD
-
@Peanits said:
If someone disconnects excessively, chances are they will be banned. The game automatically flags and bans anyone that disconnects beyond a certain threshold in a given month. If they're disconnecting over petty things like going down, I'm willing to bet they'll be on the next ban list. DC bans start at a week and escalate up to permanent (1w > 2w > 4w > permanent).I think deranking them would be counter productive, as some of them want to be lower ranks to play against low ranked killers/survivors so they can BM and feel like they're good at the game. Banning them outright would also be a little much because you can never tell when someone needs to legitimately DC. For example, the game bugs out and you get stuck somewhere where the killer can't kill you and you can't escape, or someone is griefing or cheating and you just don't want to stick around for it. More importantly, that would mean that those who play the game more would be punished harder because they're bound to run into those situations eventually (if you play ten matches a month, no big deal, but if you play a hundred matches a month, your chances of running into something like that at some point are ten times higher).
We all know that the system with the current percentage doesnt work.
Even fogstreamers show us that you can derank by DCing and you are not harmed. We need INSTANT punishments after a DC, preferably queue time punishment like any other competitive game handles it.
-
@ShyN3ko said:
Many survivors and killer want derank.
Because shorter lobby time and easy enemys.
It would be nice if they get a lobby timer, when they dc.
Example:
1 DC per day = 1 min for 1 game,
2 DC per day =5 min for 2 games,
3 DC per day =10 min for 3 games,
4 DC per day =30 min for 5 games,
5 DC = bann for 1 week,
25 dc per month = bann for a month,Sounds reasonable, but I would up the penalty for the first DC to 5 minutes

I think making struggle phase more rewarding while in the killer's terror radius should fix camping. As in if you're being camped and you get to the struggle phase you get enough point to black pip or if you had enough objective at some point it might be enough to pip. This will encourage survivors who are being camped to stay and waste the killer's time. Being camped is not fun and in most cases players just suicide on hook when they realize they're being camped to just go to the next game and that in my opinion is why some killers still do it looking for the one hook kills and easy wins.
I think making looping phase more rewarding while being within a certain radius from the survivor should fix looping. If youre been looped and you follow the survivor, then you get enough emblem points as if the survivor didnt loop.
This will encourage killers who are being looped to stay and waste the survivors time. Being looped is not fun and in most cases killers just camp after being looped when they realize that they have been looped for several gens and just wiat till the game is over and proceed with the next game.
Btw, killers camp because survivors reward them for doing it and throwing each other at the hook instead of simply doing their objective, and yes thats an easy win if the survivors are stupid enough

Well maybe you need to be smarter and know when and where to break chase if someone is looping you for a long time then it means you're just being hard headed about that particular survivor instead of trying to look for other survivors who are not being pressured and doing their objective freely.
Not to mention they have nerfed looping to the ground with the vacuum changes and the fast window vaults angle. If you get looped for a long time then maybe you need to get better at the game.
So you suggest to not chase a specific survivor at all and search for someone that doesnt know how to loop?

I still think the only change that should be made is that if the Killer drops a DS user the Killer should go through the stun animation regardless as though DS worked, that way juggling would be erased. It's a pretty easy fix and a pretty sensible one, DS isn't all that powerful anyhow, just a "Get out of jail for a skill check" card.Guys like you are so adorable

-
1) BBQ gives you only a target (assuming they show up at all). That doesnt change the fact that with this idea you ACTIVELY want to deny safe unhooks or you will be hit by this ######### DS. I can tell you for sure that I would definitely adapt my playstyle if such a rework would happen. The impact of DS is too huge to simply ignore it.
3) The problem is that the risk only depends on the players skill. A beginner survivor will always fail DS and will get rekt due to that, but the irony is that you can catch a beginner relatively fast afetr DS.
DS only has a huge impact when the survivor is experienced, knows how to loop etc and for those guys the "risk" not to hit the skillcheck is laughable

I am pretty new to this game but I have managed to get my killer character up to level 46. I have noticed though that the game gets totally out of balance in these higher levels. Not long after entering a game I generally get generator repaired notifications 1 after another because players have become fast at repairing them and so the rounds don't last very long at all... In fact if I'm fortunate enough to hook someone you want to camp there just to get at least ONE kill before the round ends. IMHO I think there are a number of contributing factors.. firstly at higher levels I don't think survivors should get as many pallets to pull down and secondly maybe there should need to be more generators repaired before exits show?
My only other gripe is torches.. I notice that even if you are turned 180 degrees away from them they still blind you...I feel with you. You officially left the noob realm where the game felt like an horror game.
Do you use ruin and BBQ? If not, try to get them in the shrine or buy the DLCs. They really help you a lot.
Also you might wanna think about switchign your killer, some killers simply are not meant to be viable at high rank (which rank are you btw?) even if I dont understand why the devs have that mindset.
You cant dodge a flashlight. The survivor will always be able to blind you during animation lock unless they mess it up. Before you pick up someone, make clear that there is noone close or leave the guy on the ground. Thats called slugging and this tactic can help vs genrushers too
