    I try to do 1v1 with my friends from time to time but the rounds are impossible to finish. The reason is because the gens spawn too damn close to each other and the killer only has to walk 5 meters between the last three. When there are less than 4 survivors the gens should spawn more spread apart, not right [BAD WORD] next to each other.

    You should not be able to have any chance in a 1vs1.

    Working as intended

    If the survivor is not meant to have a chance then why does the game decrease the number of gens required based on the number of survivors? to give them a chance.

    So you want to balance the game such that a survivor can 1vs1 a killer?

    I thought blocking stairs to prevent gameplay was holding the game hostage/exploit? Hes not just camping, hes straight preventing someone from even attempting an unsafe unhook.

    If someone is hooked in the basement, then a timer is ticking down and it snot holding the game hostage

    I still enjoy the game and that's really what this is about. For every 1 bad match I get, I usually get 15 successful matches where I play reasonably fair and feel like I have some decent skill. Survivors do have too many strengths but their role isn't as satisfying as killer that's why they have to resort to being toxic or tryhards.

    So why come here and complain? In the "balance feedback" section no less.

    I have issues with how survivors can heavily tilt the game in their favor and ending the game immensely fast before I can put pressure on them and really think that max toolbox charges need nerfs and a small nerf to leader (since they buffed it for no reason), but this was just a worse case scenario. The only way I could've won that game was with nurse or just dodged lobby and paid more attention to the double toolbox swf.

    I also wish that Ruin wasn't a required perk for Killers either if they balanced the gen times or created another objective it would make killer perks way more diverse.

    You still haven't answered my questions regarding how you cut loops, did you respect pallets, did you just swing through them for no reason, did you zone them properly in chases, did you mind game tiles, did you cut though the L T walls correctly etc etc? I'm positive that there was "something you could have done besides being Nurse", BEFORE complaining about a loss.

    I don't think so, it took me less than 15 seconds to find the survivor and start a chase, I tightened my loop as best as I could and didn't respect pallets, got one stunned swinging through one pallet, the survivor didn't even loop the T wall just vaulted and tried running to another pallet before I downed him and i was zoning him to the corner of the map and by that time 3 gens got done. What amazed me is that one survivor did one gen on his own and 2 survivors with leader and toolboxes did 4 gens at roughly one minute longer in time.

    Just break the chase lul

    Even the argument "not everyone plays like that" and then trying to justify balance this way is laughable, but I guess you need to look at that from a neutral perspective to understand that

    @Master you literally started a topic in this forum asking what to do against being looped for 5 gens, while stacking bloodlust 3 (old mach 10 speeds!!!). This means you are absolute garbage and don't understand the fundamentals of chases. Yet here you are, thinking what you are doing is asking for balance instead of learning what to do differently. You were even told by several people what to do and that it was a "you problem" and yet you blissfully ignored them all. You don't have a leg to stand on buddy :)
    Nobody can argue with the likes of you, because you're so blind to reality and are so unwilling to accept other view points to improve a situation you might be facing in this game.

    You repeat yourself. But apparently you forgot that I was trying to follow advice and not break the pallet and bloodlust instead when the looper is too good. That simply didnt work out and thats what the thread was about.

    Twist it as you want, I really dont give a damn :wink:

    Your inability to face a discussion civilly, arguing on the merits, as instead @FoggyDownpour has done, is really unseemly. We are on a forum: explain your opinion, give a reasonable contribution!

    First you need to bring up some arguments, then we can have a civil discussion.

    I take the trouble to answer you analytically, since I have always discussed with pleasure and constructively with you.

    To argue means, in sequence:
    1) analyze and report the facts (premise of being);
    2) apply a criterion of value, justice, opportunity to these facts (premise of having to be);
    3) logically infer from the premises 1) and 2) a consequent conclusion.

    If:
    1) the description of the facts does not correspond to reality, then the argument is false;
    2) the applied criteria are not universally shared, then the argument is questionable;
    3) the process of logical inference is wrong, then the argument is invalid.

    Here is my topic:
    1) I analyzed the history of the sabotage of hooks, which today are regenerated in a certain period of time, and the different regime applied to the pallets, which remain broken (and is irrefutably true: just read the patch notes of the game, regarding hooks, and play it even once, regarding the pallets);
    2) I applied a criterion of justice, consisting of the principle of equality (perhaps you do not share, then argues, as others have done meritoriously: @FoggyDownpour @powerbats @ReneAensland @Mister_xD );
    3) I have logically drawn from the premises 1) and 2) the conclusion that even the pallets should regenerate.

    The existence of an argument is objective, while you pretend to consider this only the topic you share, as if to say that only the opinions that you arbitrarily decide to approve are debated, instead dialectic does not work like this: you do not have any title to disqualify the opinions of others, considering them non-existent ("First you need to bring up some arguments..."), instead you only have the right to:
    A) choose whether or not to spend your time for a replica;
    B) show that the argument of others is false, questionable or invalid;
    C) share the argument of others.

    1) Yes hooks regenerate over time, pallets are broken if the killer breaks them.

    2) Criterion of justice? Excuse me?

    With the same logic you can argue that the killer should have the ability to activate some kind of sprintburst because survivors can, or even a dead hard. Does that sound like a criterion of justice or equality? Or how about

    I want you to provide actual arguments why pallets should regenerate over time. In my opinion this would immediately break the game if implemented.

    And just a side node. Killers were ok with the sabo-meta and adapted accordingly (as usual). The outrage came from the survivor side because they were slugged and were left bleeding out on the floor because the "toxic killer" didnt let them wiggle out. Guess why we have regenerating hooks now :wink:

    Nurse is probably the best. You can finish the game real quick and get all BBQ stacks.
    Sure, you might get higher points within a single game with killers like wraith or doc, but its all about time efficiency, isnt it?

    How can I achieve my objective making no mistakes anywhere near the time survivors achieve theirs with no mistakes?

    I'm still gonna keep playing killer and improve, but it's weird when I get matched up against dcing potatoes that can barely do a gen then with swf squads that end the game in less than 5 minutes it makes the game wildly inconsistent and unfun at both ends neither feeling appropriately challenging.

    There is nothing you can do about this sadly. The depip squad showed the true unbalance of the game, the devs reacted and said they already have been aware of this and that it would be nothing new to them.

    One idea that may be helpful would be that we can rate each player when playing with them so that when we are in the lobby waiting to join it can tell us their ratings out of 100% or something so we know if they are going to be terrible or not, but that is just a suggestion.

    We already have such a rating, its called rank.

He responded by saying that apparently only the community managers check the forums and thus anything we discuss here is probably never read by the Developers themselves, which in my opinion makes this section of the forums a rather moot point. While I've never expected them to take our suggestions and 100% copy and paste them into the game (that'd be rather inane) the whole purpose of writing things up was to offer them the communities perspective and concepts for how to improve the game and give them a sense of direction to go toward, and if no one that actually works on the game objectively speaking is reading our ideas then there's little point to keep shouting into the void. Was fun for the brief while I was here, but I figured I'd let others know how pointless an exercise it is and has been before I peace out.

    I could have told you that too :wink:

    From time to time community managers (queen and now pat) check in, but the devs basically ignore the forum. Its a shame, but whatever

    Take the plants from the blighted event, turn them into gas tanks or whatever that you have to work on like the plants and the vial is a gas meter you have to fill. You have to apply a full gas meter to a gen to activate it and allow it to start being worked on. So, in other words each gen will need to be filled with gas before it can be worked on.

    Boom.

    How is a radiant fetch quest going to solve radiant quest? I don't think adding more steps to the gens is the way to go about making the game more interesting. Adding an alternative goal or generally something like that is a better option than adding walking back and forth

    Its definitely more interesting than just increasing the gentime. I already hold M1 for more than half of the match currently, such amazing gameplay....

    I think making struggle phase more rewarding while in the killer's terror radius should fix camping. As in if you're being camped and you get to the struggle phase you get enough point to black pip or if you had enough objective at some point it might be enough to pip.

    This will encourage survivors who are being camped to stay and waste the killer's time. Being camped is not fun and in most cases players just suicide on hook when they realize they're being camped to just go to the next game and that in my opinion is why some killers still do it looking for the one hook kills and easy wins.

    I think making looping phase more rewarding while being within a certain radius from the survivor should fix looping. If youre been looped and you follow the survivor, then you get enough emblem points as if the survivor didnt loop.

    This will encourage killers who are being looped to stay and waste the survivors time. Being looped is not fun and in most cases killers just camp after being looped when they realize that they have been looped for several gens and just wiat till the game is over and proceed with the next game.

    Btw, killers camp because survivors reward them for doing it and throwing each other at the hook instead of simply doing their objective, and yes thats an easy win if the survivors are stupid enough :wink:

    Just exchange a few words and there we go, voila

    Sadly, the majority  of the community thinks that there are only problems on their side and that is what prevents a lot of potential fixes
  • Ryuhi said:

    Before we start, no, I'm not talking about OH YOU HIT ME MORE THAN ONCE IN A ROW THATS TUNNELLING or other juvenile bullshit. I'm talking about taking a single player and expressly forbidding them from being able to do anything in the game outside of a chase and eventual hook. I feel like this is most often brought on by survivors who play like #########, in SWFs teabagging, flashlighting, and spewing every ounce of disrespect they can muster. fine. But what about when its that player who literally spawns right next to you, and does nothing to show an ounce of disrespect? Do they not deserve a chance to play the game?

    You get far more points for hooking all players twice than you do for a single kill while everyone else gen rushes. BBQ and chilli, the arguably most important perk for any killer, grants ABSURDLY more BP for NOT tunneling a single player. So why do so many players do it? Its often said that only low rank killers rely on it, yet I see it in high ranks all the time, and they then go on to say they do it on purpose to try to depip. What kind of [BAD WORD] up system rewards that kind of behavior (no pun intended.)

    Its bad enough when your teammates just hook farm you like idiots, but slugging them and then outright ignoring them to cross half the map to secure that kill is beyond a dick move. Its the kind of play that makes survivors whine and complain about how killers are op (when they're really not) and then form into SWFs (Which actually are op) just to avoid being subjected to that kind of situation.

    Yes, I know being a 0K game hurts, especially when survivors are taunting jerks about it. Maybe thats part of why a lot of killers have zero empathy for it: if they get outlooped by someone and cant handle it, they're effectively being held hostage for the rest of the game, and tend to take it out on other players. Thats just repeating the cycle though, and creating more necessity for it.

    TL;DR Be the change in the community you want to see. survivors who act like shitheels deserve everything coming to them, but fishing for salty survivor tears out of solo queue survivors is the exact reason why so many of them become game breakingly cancerous SWFs. All we have to do is not play like asshats and be excellent to one another. It will be impossible to correctly balance the game until this human condition is treated.

    also dont worry i already got my Rx for gitting gud from the good doctor.

    If I wouldn't actually try to kill survivors, wouldn't that be BM and some kind of disrespect towards their skill?

    In the current state of the game it simply is common sense to tunnel and it's the devs job to give incentive not to tunnel, e.g. action debuffs for fresh hooks
  • Make sure to Depip for easier games like the last batch lol

    And promote the usage of bann able programs like mlga :lol:
  • So I've been thinking, in most of my matches clown is the rarest killer I ever see, I see Freddy more than Clown!!! Do people not like him? His power is simple and pretty good yet I rarely see him. Even I rarely play him now and I dont even know why. What's wrong with him? He doesn't have map pressure but he excels at chases, is that it?!
    His ability is meant to counter loops, but it isn't a real counter. Then the bottles fly in a very weird arc and he has no map mobility.

    6 out of 10 killers, at least,  against 2 swf. (lately)
    In a coward too since I don't see why I should play against swf as long as the game isn't balanced around it. 2 mans is sth I accepT at any rank though because otherwise you won't find any game :wink:

  • Many people in the mountains aren't connected to a power grid. And when winter has set in and the generator breaks, who do you call?

    Sal, the Generator Repair man!

    I hear he's going to have a perk that makes you do gens faster, and another that let's him pick up pallets after they are used.

    I doubt t that the devs want to kill their game^^

    Do you remember that time when Elon Musk beat the Top Best Players of DOTA in the world? Well, yeah.

    I was thinking after Marth88's experiment:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KQ1z4poJyE
    What would happen if we'd let Elon Musk's OpenAI learn how to play Dead By Daylight on a standard killer like Wraith.
    Would the most powerful form of intelligence be able to 4K a team of Toxic Survivors? Or is the game, at the highest competitive level, so severely unbalanced that nothing could ever beat a strong survivor team?

    This lead me to something else...:
    The MOST UNDERRATED Perk In The Game.

    Can you guess it?

    naaah...?

    naaaaaaah?

    It's Whispers!
    Something that you might've noticed is that this perk tells you more than whether a survivor is close. It will tell you THE EXACT radius distance between YOU and the survivor. In this instance the perk turns on, the killer has an exact clue as to how far the survivor is away.
    To humans it may only reveal this information, but to an OpenAI, it would be possible to walk backwards and slightly to the side to figure out where the EXACT location of the survivor is, due to this proximity information. The AI might be able to deduce from this whether the survivor is walking or not and can way more easily patrol the map or deduce whether there are multiple survivors within a certain range.

    Although currently, stealth is not particularly the most needed tool for survival for survivors, if it had been then there is no way a perk like Whispers could go unnoticed without a nerf in the competitive AI scene.

    You puny humans might not be able to understand the issue, but for those of you who do:

    Vote for a Whispers rework, before AI can utilise it more effectively then we can, creating dangerous power-imbalances.

    Thanks for listening

    A little part of my brain died here. RIP

    There is no war between "killer mains" and "survivor mains". It's literally just a difference between players who are putting forward uninformed opinions and those who are informed. People throw these terms around just because someone disagrees with them. Unless you play both sides at high rank I don't think an opinion has very much substance behind it.

    Still young and naive you are, a lot to learn you have young padawan :wink:

    So there are many windows which are like, in front of a locker, in this map, it happened to me multiple times to use a window and get sucked by a locket, and ofc get grabbed by the killer since it's easy to grab ppl from pallet windows and lockers now, is there any way locker vacuum can get "fixed" as they did "fix" pallet vacuum?

    Just dont spam the button 5 seconds before trying to vault. That solves the problem

  • gotta be careful with the baits

    ...where survivors make gobbling sounds while being chased?

    Not everyone is celebrating it :wink:
