I know who you are talking about. But he is always hiding his name in his video's. Let's face it... the current report and anti cheat system is ****. The devs are going to lose so much money because of their ignorance.

It just sucks that I go to watch funny dbd clips and that pops up then people are asking for cheats for ps4 and Xbox..like really why you gotta cheat t this game?

the more unbalanced and unfun a game is, the more players will start to cheat/hack. Also if they cannot pass a certain skillevel they are tempted to do that
    It always happens

SWF uses VoIP to help each other track the killer and its belongings. So why not make them more dependably on VoIP?

My suggestion is that SWF members dont have the auras of their teammates when they are in dying state or hooked. This means they have to explain their teammate where they lay or hang. I know it wont change that much but now they are forced to explain and cant just say | "its safe come get me".

Its just a small thing but could be a small step towards better gameplay vs SWF.

Doesnt really do anything, it would just make the experience for beginner players worse (see how effective knockout is e.g.)

what is the point when 99% of the time they spawn where everyone can see? This is frustrating as hell🤨

If you wanna be as toxic as the usual survivor, just DC if they spawn on your totem, maybe more luck next game

Hello, there will be the anniversary tournament soon.
There were a lot of teams registered (170)... and the bracket only seems to show 16 teams:

    how were the teams "qualified"?

There was no qualification, devs cherry picked a few NA streamers basically.

The fact that the tournament is in a timeslot where the lowest amount of DBD players usually is active speaks for itself.

Happens a lot on the survivor side especially. It's annoying when your team gets punished for it though. Most killers dgaf and still act like it's a full game when it's only 2 of you.

If a survivor DCs ingame, then I will show no mercy to others, same is if some doucebag dodges my mori.
If someone accidently DCs in loadingscreen though, then I wont play like a tryhard killer

Why punish the few that stick around though? It's just bad sportsmanship honestly. You both could just farm and get double the points so everyone's happy. Survivors get punished for stupid things already like killer DC or killer ping spikes

I stopped caring for survivors about 3 months ago. I realized that they dont give a ######### about the feelings of the killer, so I mostly stopped caring about theirs.
If a survivor DCs, then I consider this as toxic as clicking at me/tbagging and if the survivor team BMs me, then I wont play a "friendly" killer.
Survivors dont get punished if the killer DCs, they get free 5k BP, keep items and get a blackpip at least. If I play survivor and the killer DCs I am like "wow thanks, appreciate the free points".

The game forces you to camp and tunnel tbf. It's not the killers fault, it's the devs fault.

Wrong. There are the occasional situations in which camping/tunneling may play out as the best move, but for the most part those are poorly executed tactics by either salty or inexperienced killers (usually a nice little mixture of both) and in the end will cost them a huge chunk of BP compared to if they actually played the game with the slightest fraction of skill.

Tunneling is always the best move, explain a situation where it is not most effective please

Tunneling implies that you are zeroed in on one survivor and you're ignoring everything and everyone just to ensure—or hope really—you can catch them. If it was a simple chase that lasted less than a minute or two, it wouldn't be considered tunneling, but if you allow a survivor to distract you for longer than that while the others are completing objectives... Well, I guess that's a strategy. Just not a good one. ;)

Haha nice joke. Every time some survivor unhooks while I am still close and I down the saved guy, then I am called out for tunneling.
And yes if there is a wounded survivor somewhere and even if the chase would last 5 minutes, I only need one hit. Chasing the other idiot who is clicking with his flashlight at me woudl require 3 hits to down him, why should I do that?

If I allow a survivor to distract me long enough for others to do gens, then its my fault? Please explain how I can do better, I am really curious. Am I supposed to chase another one, so that he can distract me?

I was in a match with a really great flashlight, with the best addons, the killer was a leatherface and was chasing someone, I flashlight save them and he then goes after me, eventually hitting me and getting me away from my flashlight. I do my best to avoid getting hit, using pallets, and all the jazz (key note, I wasn't pallet looping or anything, was just running away) he eventually DCs and then I've lost the only flashlight, and my addons

Sure, a non-guilty survivor with a lightsabre, forgive me but I have doubts about that story.

But sure, give survivors back their items if the killer DCs, but then also give killers back their addons if a survivor DCs, that would only be fair

The killer gets quitter bonus point of 625 per and oftentimes doesn't lose all the addons and item. The quitter bonus if they person hasn't been hooked yet should be a lot higher. But survivors get screwed much worse. I've had killer see the teams and then either bail just as the game is loading or just after it. Sometimes it's the fact of the map they don't like.

As a killer I've had 1-3 ppl quit the moment the map loads and they don't like it or they see which killer I'm on or they get hit/downed 1x. I get 625 bonus points for a quitter big deal, I lose out on anywhere from 1-6k plus if not more. For survivors I can if I live till end and get out get upwards of 25-40k. If they quit as discussed i get almost nothing.

You shouldn't be punished by losing stuff because some jerk quits on you, it's that simple and it doesn't matter which side does it. Also I've never rage quit on either side even when i knew it was a SWF group or 1-3 ppl quit and left me to do it all.

As a killer you will lose your addons/offerings EVERY single game, I believe that after 600 hours mostly playing killer I can say that. If there is a bug that gives you back your addons, then I havent experienced it yet :sarcastic:

When a killer sees a team he doesnt wanna face, then he wont wait till loading screen to dodge, he will do that already in lobby and save his time. Sure in the old build I DCed too if there was badham 3 times in a row, sorry but no way I am going through this 3 times in a row

DCing punishes mostly the killer because he has to rely on his addons while the survivor doesnt need items at all. (sure time is wasted for both sides thougH)

    camping and tunneling killers

Go play killer if you think it is easy, really.

And for the topic - it is hard, because survivors are smurfing at low ranks, as well as part of the killers. Devs should make seasonal rewards for ranks, and all the people will be tryharding to get upper.

Also, since 2.0, ranking for the survivors is a lot easier than for killers, as always.

Seasonal rewards would indeed make everyone tryhard which would kill this unbalanced game. Apparently the devs are very well aware of that, so they delay those a bit
We just gotta hope they fix the core game balance soon

Why can't they just introduce instant time penalties? If the system is able to recognise if a DC was intentional or not as they claim, then what's the problem in locking players out of the game for like 30 minutes when they DC?

Also, they could introduce a 1 day ban if someone intentionally DCd more than 3 times in a day. But don't let that build up as in resulting to a permanent ban. Let them be banned for a day over and over again if they keep DCing over and over again.

Because there are countless bugs in the game that actually force you to DC. I had a day where I had to DC three times in a single day (long session though) because several survivors were holding me hostage.
Fix those bugs, then introduce casual and ranked and have strong punishments in ranked

What if the hook didn't fall off when you finished sabotaging it? Lets say some bits of the pillar do fall off, and the hook dangles swaying from left to right. Now when the killer tries to put a survivor on that hook then it breaks off and the survivor falls to the ground.

The effect being the killer gets a stun simular to being hit by a pallet, and the survivor suffers a 1 second stun followed by a slight exhaustion debuff to keep them from sprint bursting straight away.

    Thoughts?

I really enjoyed when sabotaging was a thing and slugging was meta.
However, sadly now we have SWF so that isnt a solution anymore. Your idea would basically make it impossible to hook anymore and since slugging has been made unviable.....

We all know totem placement is a joke. Why have another perk just to work around a really bad design? Hex totems are powerful indeed but can be completely destroyed within seconds in current state and the killer loses a whole perk slot for the rest of the game. Why not have the notification, cleansing speed penalty of TOTH be a default mechanism, at least for the hex totems?

Because that would be a killer buff and survivors have a problem with that
They are reworking totems atm, so hopefully we see sth in 2019

Pips on the survivor side are a participation reward now. Make it piping harder and higher rank will actually mean more skileld teammates.
Of course there will be more tunneling/camping killers on high rank, those are tactics that actually work. If you try to 3-hook everyone, then you are basically trying to derank as killer

So this is my solid 40 hours in perspective and I suppose this question is for the more seasoned killers -

I am struggling, really struggling, to find a reason to want to keep playing as a killer. One thing this game holds high over Friday the 13th is that if I want to play as the killer then I absolutely will get to play as the killer, every single time. As far as I can tell this game is also dependant on players wanting to subject themselves to absurdity of survivors. If we don't them there's no game.

But I am pretty quickly burning out on what I see as absolute nonsense. This game is not a horror game and the only power killers hold is what survivors allow them.

The killers are not a threat.

When wounded survivors routinely hang out at the exit, tea-bagging, knowing that if you show up and strike them down they'll still escape, it's a sign of severe imbalance. Why on earth can a survivor escape crawling through the exit when 3/4 of their body hasn't crossed the magic line? Have we never seen, in a horror movie, a character believe they've escaped the clutches of a psychopath only to be grabbed by the ankle and dragged back in to the darkness?

There's more, everyone knows the irritations. Multiple generators being repaired just a minute in to the trial. Groups of body-blockers. Easily negated and ineffectual killer perks. Looping, excessive pallets, constantly being slowed, survivors running at Mach 5.

It's pretty much madness as far as I'm concerned.

Is this ever going to be addressed? Has this conversation been going on ad nauseam since the release? Is there any reason to think eventually a killer main, any killer, can even get to the point where trials are not so stressful?

The problem is that survivors have been telling you how to play the game. Just forget about the crybabies and employ the "unfair" tactics. Tunneling for example should ALWAYS be done if it is possible, there is no reason not to. Camping is a very strong tool too if survivors are altruistic, just dont do it when they sit at gens most of the time.
And then there is slugging, it can be really effective but it is really hard to pull off

And btw if several survivors join the lobby at the same time, then they are SWF and you bette rmake sure to dodge that lobby

Soo, uhh, does this thing go through walls?

Was playing Meyer's Map, Lampkin Lane, and trying out paintbrush + monitor and abuse Freddy. I would sleep people, let them go, then sneak up behind them by using walls as cover. The issue was I noticed people were perfectly evading me, running in the opposite direction I was even when I was fully concealed behind a house wall. Happened multiple times, and in end-game chat I was told my red glow goes through the walls and reveals me. Is that true?

I'm really trying to give Freddy a chance here, but he's making me cringe right now.

Yes it goes through solid walls and the light even bends around corners.
Welcome to playing killer in DBD

I'm just trying to make sure I'm not breaking any rules, but no one seems capable of informing me as to whether this is bannable or not.

Let me tell you this. In the last months I have been regularly deranking by staying afk in the basement (without holding a survivor hostage) and nothing happened to me.
Before I started that I asked in the steam forums and a mod told me that afk without a hostage situations would not be bannble (wasnt a dev though)

Considering the time gens need to complete, this should not be a problem for survivors either. Just take your free points and finish the game quickly

And of course more and more cosmetics and cool stuff.

    In game collectibles anyone?

Devs shipped the build when they were satisfied with it. That was the reason why we had a PTB; gather feedback and then polish the patch before it live releases.

Of course they were not able to send the patch 2-3 days before PC because it was not ready at this point
Or do you suggest that PC players have to wait longer just because sony/microsoft need longer for verification? We had that with the pig DLC and it ended that consoles actually released earlier then by "accident"

It's just an idea. Don't cry or what ever. Just tell me your opinion.

While in chase, survivor can't see behind them, their screen is locked forward, or at 90°.
First : It nerf the pallet looping, it won't be safe anymore if you don't have permanent info on the killer.
Second : You will be more afraid of a killer who is chasing you, you don't know how close he is, only when red thing appear on you.

The only problem i see it's gonna be harder to juke. Maybe delete bloodlust if you had that.

What do you think ? I don't say i want it to be in the game, just want to debate on it.

Just completely remove 3rd person from a survivor. This would turn DBD into an actual horror game, even if they are playing SWF
Sure delete bloodlust if survivor runs in 1st person, that would make mindgames at pallets actually possible if he doesnt know 100% of the time where you are

That's too much, it's impossible to stealth when ou don't have any clue where is the killer, and the killer gonna have 4 kills 90% of the times. That's too much imo.

Sure it would require some rebalancing, getting rid of aura perks e.g. but it would be a start
And yes, if you want to look around a corner, then you should have to peak #########

Staring into a gen would be complete ASS. Stop making all these ideas to change the core gameplay, that almost always results in the games death. Just balance it. Add comms to solo, then hella nerf survivors. Done. Balanced. Core gameplay still as intact as it used to be. (Mute buttons obviously included, you shouldn’t have to ask about that)

Well of course you can still look around in 1st person, so when doing a gen you could look around ofc
I agree that the only true way to balance is by adding ingame voice comms, but devs said taht it is not going to happen

  • @Why_Are_You_Salty said:
I've seen a lot of people on here complain about camping and I agree it's not fun especially on console a lot of people get camped on console I'm a PS4 player myself, but how about a perk that counters camping if the killer is within a 8/15/20 meter range of the hook all survivors gain 15/20/25% speed boost to repair so this punishes the killer and they can get at most 1 kill by camping because all gens will be done. I don't camp the only time I would camp is if I have no kills and there are like 2 gens left or someone's being toxic.

Of course there is more camping on console. Killer is harder to play with controller, but survivor is exactly the same as on PC, even on PC some survivors use controllers. Then there is also the FPS problems (nurse, 360s, etc).

Devs already tried such an approach and the survivors always abused it. In your example some idiot with a flashlight would click around while unhooking, so if the killer would leave, this would mean an isntant unhook. At the same time 2 survivors genrush with 25% extra speed

oh and btw, you can punish the camper by simply leaving the game. He will only get 1 kil, a depip and very low BP

  • Well if there are many bloody party offernigs, then the killer will even try harder to do good.
Tunneling is the most effective strategy to do so, from my experience the survivors dont care about the killers points when they use offerings (sometimes they even genrush and hurt themselves), so why should the killer care about you?

Once the first guy has been tunneled to death and there havent been to much gens done, then the killer can go ahead and fool around witht he remaining ones for some points

But if you move around and refuse to interact, then who's to say you are not just bad at Freddy.

    Game not playing as intended?
I dont think that clicking at the killer to cause epilepsy was intended, so we gonna report that too?

Depends on what they are doing when AFKing.
As you said, they went AFK right from the spawn... if they were botting in any ways, then yes, we do not tolerate that.

The hard part is, was it intentional? If you have seen the same person do it on multiple matches, I would report it.

If you have seen them do it once, then, maybe they had no choice but to AFK to take care of an important matter.

botting would mean that the killer runs around like an AI and does nothing, that is not afk though

And btw, deranking via afk isnt bannable, in fact it is the only way to derank on a legit way since they got rid of slugging = depip (at least that is what a mod has told me in the steam forum)
If you capture someone in a corner and bodyblock him, then go afk, then this is bannable indeed

  • @Raccoon said:

You get no points and you were about to die anyway. Instead you end up [BAD WORD] over that nice survivor who was attempting and failing to flashlight save you because when you dc the killer goes straight for them. Killers do it too, often DCing when survivors are tea bagging at the exit gates when you could just hit them out and get your large amount of blood points which killers can get just for being in the game. Can someone please just tell me why you lot dc and maybe stop doing it as often because it ruins the game for the killer and your teammates.

It's not a tip at all. If you can't play one killer, just don't say things like "play another killer". Especially since a lot of us gave actual tips before.

Well you can still derank and play the game at the rank the devs balanced it for.....

Okay I had a similar topic up on steam when I was newer to the game.. Now I completely understand why some people dc.. I will dc if, two or more survivors do, it is not fair for 2 survivors to work on all 5 gens.. Well I don't dc i wait till im hooked and then kill myself lol.. I will dc however if the killer is lag switching because that is just wrong.. I have also seen a lot of killers dc on the entire team because they are doing bad.. I know a lot of people use dcing as a way to depip or because they hate the killer they are facing.. I notice the top times I see people DC is with Pig, Doctor and Michael Meyrs killers.. I want to dc so bad when i face the pig but dont lol I think for people that dc there should be a punishment but only when certain things are fixed... A ban for killers who lag switch, (I don't think it's fair for people to be in an entire game with this) I think that the way they can fix dcing a bit would be this.... You know when you play kill your friends and you play x survivors vs the killer and they load in the gens based off of how many survivors there are.. Maybe when someone dcs, the killer gets all the points they would have gotten if they hooked them 2 xs and sacrificed them to the entity, and one gen would be completed per person that dcs.. That way it doesnt effect the survivor team or killer as a whole.. I also notice a lot of times people troll by coming into a team and the minute the game loads they back out so there are only 3 people lol.. I know it's super annoying especially with rank and such but i can say the higher the rank the less dcs happen.. It mostly happens with low rank players that get pissed off because they are not good at the game yet.. Maybe also a coop vs ai would be a good place so people can get better at the game.. Also maybe the devs need to make it so you can only depip so much, it gets out of control when rank 1s are doing rank 17 because they depip and troll lower ranks.. Maybe you can only depip 2 times until rank reset or something. I also feel rank reset shouldn't happen as soon as it does, other games usually wait a few months or even a season to do this.. I feel that there are too many high level survivors vs low rank killer or visa versa so people have to learn too quickly.. Just some thoughts though..

You DC if someone else DCed, well if noone DCed then this wouldnt be a problem
Laggswitcher? encountered 2 laggswitchers in 600 hours, dont confuse laggspike with laggswitch
Fun fact, but you are banned for laggswitching (not for laggspike though)

AND NO the killer is punished if survivors DC. Take the extreme as an example. all 4 survivors DC, then the killer gets 2500 BP and loses ALL addons and offerings, how is that fair? Not to mention that DCing also takes away BBQ stacks

It is already ridiculously easy to pip, piping especially as survivor is more a participation reward than a "ranked" thing now. If players want to derank instead of upranking, then there is something completely wrong with the ranked system, yes the issue is that you are actually punished for ranking up (especially as a trashtier killer who has to face the SWF then)

I read a lot on this forum that the Hag is supposed to be great, however here is how the average Hag game appears to be in reality:

    -Meg triggers trap
-Waits for any sort of movement to dodge with sprint burst
    -Gets looped for 2 hours
-Finally triggers a trap at a pallet or vault to down her
    -Gets decisive striked
-Gets looped for 2 more hours
-Downs her and picks her up
-Laurie, Jake or Dweard intentionally trigger all your [BAD WORD] traps while you are carrying her, the sounds of which will clog up your ######### your own eardrums.
-Realise that all of them run with the holy trinity of perks
-Try to downplay your thoughts of suicide

Does anyone have any tips? Because apparently there seems to be an entire cult praising her.

My tip: Either change to nurse or derank such that you can play trashtier killers without geting a heartattack
