Everyone on reddit wanted me to make killers so here.
Trapper seems so happy, it must be the version before SWF was introduced and the whole squad knows the exact position once you put down a trap

(on a sidenode, you know that messing with files can cause banns, sure its nothing game related but still...)

If you’re having trouble with pallets, yes use perks to help counter the issue. That simple I know it’s hard for you to believe that you can change up your strategy"Counter" , thanks for making me smile

Sure it is possible, but very unlikely. I dare to say that no DBD console player has the knowledge to do so (its not as easy as on pc)

If you are playing mostly survivor, and tried to play killer - this is how we are treated in this game. Death threats, spamming our profile with insults, tbagging, bodyblocking, palletlooping and other "funny ways to play survivor" arethrown against us all the matches. If you are new - do not play killer, it is horrible. Stick to the survivor and try to be fair towards the killer.
I've played this game since it launched on and off but I'm only now really starting to get into killer so I'm starting to see more and more of what others are saying is happening to killers. I'd rather play killer cause it's fun and survivor seems kinda simple most of the game.
On low ranks they are simple, playing killer is fun. But higher you will only get salty survivors, loopers and god knows what more. Also your Steam profile will get flooded by salty survbois (check out my profile if you want to se 33 pages of sweet survbois' tears - https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198414951705 )
In your case play killer more, get higher (and by saying higher I mean ranks 10-1), and you will change your thoughts about playing killer.
Because devs are incapable of implementing a proper matchmaking, you will even be introduced to the SWF toxicity in low ranks ~18

- Incentivize not camping.
- “Chase Survivors all game, because that’s what’s fun.”
Number 2 was, however, nothing more than a giant lie Survivors tossed at the developers. Them saying “it’s what is fun” was only because they knew how ultra powerful they were as Loopers. They knew if the Killer didn’t camp, thier chance of winning dramatically increased as easy hook saves and massive amounts of Looping meant an easy win.
They got what they asked for already. Now that the developers are finally making a move on them being overpowered, they are suddenly singing this “BBQ OP” tune. Looping is still plenty strong enough that BBQ is a balanced perk. If the Survivors want BBQ changed to no Aura Reading, they best prepare for some more nerfs to Looping. Other than that, it stays as it is.
I'm confused.. so you're saying camping is fun? Or none of it is fun?
I love how you create this narrative and make it seem like survivors are some monolithic being that is duping the devs.
He doesnt argue with "fun" at all, all he did was pointing out some facts in his "narrative" and I agree with him.
Yes camping isnt fun, even for the killer, but running in circles is even less fun

Definitely better than the current situation, but hatch standoff would still be a thing ( it would just be a 2 min standoff then)
16 / 32 meters are definitely too much though, that would even be whispers distance -
It feels broken because it is broken, point.
Survivors are completely aware of the killers position at any point, removing all mindgames and making the "horror" game DBD feel more like a nascar racing sim -
Hex perks are just a big joke

Does no one check the accounts that win? Out of 12 winners, 9 haven´t made a single post and the other 3 have 10 posts combined.
So people which opened 20+ thrash accounts get rewarded for doing so?
Not only you have tons of spam bots which post spam until you block them, but also bots that open accounts to farm auric cells. Is there no mechanism to control this? Because this giveaway is a joke.
Have you seen the tournament, do you play the game?
Its all a big joke

So the amount of threads where survivors ask for a BBQ nerf has been increasing over the last week. Especially in discussions about the nerf of SC and SB.
Survivors think BBQ is worse than camping. They think that the aura reading (or wallhack) should be removed. So my proposal would be to give survivors exactly what they want:
- Remove the aura reading of BBQ
- Change the stacks requirements to be the same as WGLF. Meaning that a killer can get stacks from hooking the same survivor several times. Also hitting other survivors near the hook, should give stacks.
Those changes would reduce what survivors hate the most: Being punished for the mistakes of others.
Yes remove the aura reading and go back to full camp meta. At this point just give it to survivors and let them suffer for it, I dont care anymore

My guess is most people are used to a looping strategy than trying to find other methods to escape in a chase. "Losing a killer" in a chase can be difficult with scratch marks, tracking perks/addons/killer's power, and not knowing when is the best time to hide during a chase. And God prevent that survivorß have it difficult, no we need more second chances instead

Because devs balance the game for rank 20 gameplay
By their logic nurse is the weakest killer in the game and needs a buff (ever seen a rank 20 nurse?) -

So, I honestly didn't wanna make a post like this but after several games of similar situations, I just wanted to share.I'm playing as Leatherface, I'm playing very very poorly. I allowed a survivor to run me around the map for the whole game, mostly due to my own stubbornness and partly because I should have hit her several times and missed due to my own bad plays.
I end up catching her as the exit doors light up, I decided that since I played poorly and chased this person I was gonna make sure I get the kill. Her survivor buddies decide that's not gonna happen and try everything to save her, I ended up chainsawing one as they took her off the hook, so I got 2 for the price of one. Then as the first person died I had a second on the hook, yes I camped again and yes her survivor friend ran in and I chainsawed her and bam, three kills out of one of the worst games I've ever played.
However, at the end of the game, they tell me I'm ######### and that I need to learn to play and am a camper. Now I'll acknowledge I camped but only because the exit gates where open.
I guess the whole point to this is, why do survivors tell killers who kill them that they are #########? I mean they had ample time to leave and I'd have only had 1 kill but they made the choice to stay and get killed for it. Does their bad judgment make me the bad guy here?
Dont bother, camping is legit (watch dev diary #3)
Survivors only cry because they messed up and died to your tactic. Just keep using it as long as it works (in higher ranks you will get 1 kill max) -
The game was designed for soloplayers, they added SWF later (and it completely broke the game balance btw)
This has been said several times, but apparently it would be necessary to rework the whole matchmaking progress. It is only slight annoyment and there are way bigger problems in the game that need to be adressed first tbh -
Well I guess there will be some kind of reward for devotion
-
Not necessary in my opinion, there are already enough afk plebs that dont ready up

I like to roleplay as killer (dramatic actions and movement) but it’s hard when survivor teams don’t appreciate the horror aspect of Dead By Daylight. I still get jumpscared by my own illusions playing The Doctor...Horror aspect in DBD?
You do realize that as killer you have more worries/fears than a survivor? just saying.... -

Hey everyone, Hey Devs,i just want to let you know thats hard to play on several maps as the doctor.
There are massive framedrops on Haddonfield, Mothers Dwelling, Backwater Swamp and Autoheaven. It makes a hit really hard on survivors... and easy 360 for the survs.. Thats really annoying.
Thanks
Even on PC I suffer from framedrops when playing doc (not when I verse him though). I drop down to ~50-53 FPS usually

You didnt report for camping, fine I will have to believe you but I can ensure you that a lot of survivors report indeed for camping and tunneling
As far as survivors reporting for camping, tunneling yes that happens but that's on the devs really if you think about it. I didn't know that it was legitimate until @AlexAnarchy told me and linked the video. It's probably a pretty sure thing that most survivors that report don't know either. The same is true for killers reporting for looping which is legitimate also.
If when they redo the report system if they had something above each category depending on side that explained that. It'd go a long way to reducing needless reports. If the did it pre game in the lobby or even during loading screen it'd help as well.
In my 600 hours I have never faced a killer that reported me for looping

That's the weird thing. The couple of times I've disconnected from this game are it. I don't have issues with other games besides this one. As far as my friend goes I'm not sure. Now we've done a 4-player swf and each one of us will have rubber banding issues. Those have been happening more frequentlyI heard a streamer talking about them needing to get dedicated servers. They think that this will alleviate a lot of the connection issues

When you enter a lobby make sure that your ping is fine, if it is not leave and search for another lobby
Matchmaking will sometimes put you against players from the other side of the world..... (ping isnt the best then

Because with all the anti-stealth elements the devs have introduced, it's now essential. You may not need to pallet loop a Huntress, instead being able to hide or break the chase and hide because she's slow, but you're going to need to pallet loop that Doctor or Freddy. And then you have Hillbilly with BBQ and Chili, able to reach you before the aura even fades.Doc and freddy can be reworked easily, in fact they are already implementing perks to get rid of docs scream e.g.
People aren't going to equip a perk just to counter one element of a mid-tier at best killer. How many people do you see running Small Game?
Some will indeed (me for example)
But yeah, the majority prefers to stick to the DS, SC sprintburst crutches because looping is just a lot easier -

There is only a matchmaking server hosted by BHVR, once the game starts the P2P thing takes over.
I guess it would be very cimplicated trying to implement a reconnect thing into the game and considering that games only take 5 minutes anyway, I dont think its necessary at all.I would estimate that about 2-3% of the DCs are actually caused by connection issues. probably 90% ragequits and the other gamecrashes
Oh and btw, if your internet connection is bad, it might DC you from the game (had bad experiences with hotel wifi e.g.)
-
Because survivors like it this way and they represent 80% of the voting wallets
Its sad, but in the end it seems to come down to that -
@dannyfrog87 said:
alright so say their is that one super immersed survivor who wont do a damn thing except walk around the map doing absolutely nothing no gens etc etc. so why would you nerf that perk so it only works within 8 meters after everyone else dies this perk is needed for all distances to counter that. that devs is NOT a buff to whispers leave it as it is. theirs a saying if it isnt broken. dont fix it!!Whispers is one of the perks that are in a perfect state in the moment.
No idea why devs even consider changing it, but if they really do noone will use it anymore...... Changing the radius completely messes up all your muscle memory if you wanna call it that way and finding the last person is just a joke with that activation radius -
The core game mechanics need a complete rework, that should have become clear during the tournament

That last part is totally false since no where did I ever say I reported them for camping nor did I do so.
Also I know what wallhacking is since I've been doing reviews on them as an admin for well over 25 years.
Racism is bannable, and I didn't report for camping, just calling the jerk out for doing it as a nurse I mean #1 killer all solo queue and you basically face camp. To make it more laughable they camped the hatch after I'd done 3 gens. Would blink towards the other gens I was working on then immediately blink back.
Also I've never rage quit and I could understand quitting over a face camping nurse which is absolutely pathetic when gates aren't even close to being done.

Both sucks. People doesn't camp / tunnel because those are "viable strat" (while they are) they do it just because they want to be dicks against other players in their game. Same applies to flashlight / ds fuckboisI tunnel because it is the only strategy that can make me win the game.
In a game where before the first chase has ended, there can be done 3 gens easily, I simply dont see another solutionIf you have any solution what to do against genrush and can actually suggest another strategy isntead of tunneling, please explain it to me. I would love not having to play like that

I pretty much stopped playing the game seriously, only doing dailies and a few games per day (if at all).
I spend more time in the forum than in the game because I am just waiting for balance fixes, the latest tournament has made obvious in what state the game is currently and I think that most players are wondering now whether it is worth trying to play DBD and get better just to face SWF teams in the end where they cant do anything about it.I got a few games in the steam summer sale that will push DBD to the side till devs adress the issues, I guess I am not the only one that is doing that

Is this really the kind of organisation that should be running official events? Among many things, the one thing that's really made the tournament hard to enjoy is the hard club music they play between matches. Many people have vented their dislike to the music. My limit was reached after listening to the same song between matches (which could be a 20-minute wait) had been played for at least 5-6 hours. There's no filling between the matches except this one song, no commentary, no interviews, no DBD content. If anyone expressed any dislike for the type or loudness of the music, they were timed out for 10 minutes, even if it was in a non-confrontational manner.I brought my opinions to their discord and this was the response:

This is all on top of the tech issues, unclear rules, the fact that a knowledgeable commentator was absent at the start of the event and overzealous mods.
Their attitude is pretty much "This is how we do stuff. If you don't like it, we don't care, deal with it. If you express this, we will ban you". If it wasn't for the fact that I really wanted to see the matches, I would never watch their streams.
In the future, I really hope that the Devs consider other options who can handle their events in a much more professional way that is more in tune with this game's community. Just a quick look at the chat can show you that most of the community is not enjoying many aspects of this event.
Have never heard of space sports before and now I know the reason why this is the case

Nest time you see their name popping up somewhere, you know what to expect -

Honestly what could've made the tournament better would have been the addition of allowing certain perks and add-ons.For killers: No NOED, No Mori. Everything else fair game.
For Survivors: No BNP, No Keys, No DS, Everything else good to go.
Obviously this isn't a perfect idea. Mostly because I've just woken up and the coffee hasn't fully entered my own personal blood web yet (yay for bad dad joke DbD puns), but already I think that an inserting of this in the rules could've added a bit more flavor to the tournament.
-edit-
Had an added thought as well. No offerings potentially either side just to keep the map random.
Changing the no-perk/addons rules to those you suggested would acctually give survivors an additional advantage and we have seen how much advantage they already have

Excellent, ty! So tunneling and camping would be fairly similar?Camping is staying in front of the hook
Tunneling is the decision if there are 2 survivors in front of you and you decide to go for the one who was alreadey hooked. (the only logical thing to do in the game atm)Ya, as new as I am, I don't get nearly as livid over the tunneling then as I do flat out camping (which is happening a ton)
I can tell you why, I rarely play DBD and I actively try to stay in low ranks now even though I am a 600 hour player.
Even at grey ranks I face sometimes SWF who are just capable of bullying me hardcore. Imagine a beginner kille going agianst shitheads like this. They basically teach them that camping is a good thing (the only way how to get kills)
Its sad, but this is more and more what this game turns into. Sadly the devs dont care ,seems like there is still enough money coming in -
