Clearly you should be at much higher rank than you actually are. a p3 nurse at rank 14 with top meta perks maxed out is overkill (and i am 100% sure you already knew this) nurses are top tier and should never be seen beating up low ranked survivors. Stop noob bashing and rank up! They were right to dc.

Rank doesnt represent skillevel, it represents time spent in the current season

You are living in the past buddy, that's not the case since emblem system came out you can't just skate your way to top rank if you are trash especially not solo. Rank DOES represent skill unless of course you swf'd your way to high rank in which case you probably got carried. However, this does not apply to those who mostly play solo and have a high rank you simply can't be a bad player solo and get high rank since emblem it's not possible you actually have to display some level of skill to reach such heights. Before emblem system I agree it was common that if you played a lot you would get a high rank but that's not the case anymore. Hence why you see many p3 survivors at low rank, they play heaps but they are not skilled.

I play solo survivor myself, I know how easy it is to pip since 2.0
That together with the fact how much SWF is played atm.....

So what are you saying? that you're a high ranked solo survivor who's trash?

    Basically, yes

Until they add in a reward for facing SWF, and slow the games down a bit, expect more dodging in the future. I don't do it myself, but I can certainly understand the desire to close a Lobby because of flashlight squads and toolbox squads, not to mention the SWF Death Squad. I solo queue myself so I tend to not experience this much, but if you're getting dodged enough to complain about it, maybe something needs to change on your end.

I do have to say that since we got the new cosmetics, there is a good bit less dodging going on because people are showing off their fancy new outfits instead of their P3 glory.

Dodging for P3 was a thing long ago, nowadays everyone has P3

Is it just the type of players on DbD? Don't understand why there's so much of it.

If you actuall try to play the game as it is indended, then it is considered "bad manners" because the game is unbalanced AF with completely flawed design choices

I always laugh IRL when someone drops a hook in front of me. It's a pretty good play, and I can appreciate that. Depending on where the next hook is, I may drop the Survivor I'm carrying and chase after the saboteur though. Had a few matches where they did this to me and we had a good laugh about it in the post-game chat. Just don't get salty about it. It's all part of the game.

Currently I am low rank because I started deranking regularly for two months now, not gonna play competitively anymore till devs fix their game. For some reason I face red rank survivors even at rank 18, devs did a pretty good job etc.

Yeah I agree, the diamond stones are really strong but you cant use them every game as they are ultra rare. Trap setting addon is mandatory if you want to set traps at all

The only viable combinations in my opinion are instadown+setting time and darkening+setting time.

I plan to derank too but fighting noobs that runs non-stop is no fun for me. and they will always report you for cheating since they thought people with full perks does not exist on Rank 20s. The darkening addon would be useful if the moment you place it adds a bunch of grass close to the trap covering it, then it would be a good add-on in my opinion, or as I said simply make the trap invisible beneath under the ground and snap when someone was on the surface

I have more fun playing with "meme builds" against noobs than being bullied by tryhards. I accepted that in the current state of the game there is nothing I can do as killer against them (I dont play nurse, the selfstun makes me anxious)
You are reported for cheating at any rank, not that it would do anything

I highly recommend you try deranking too, using devour for example is so much fun and the low rank survivors enjoy it actually (they are not entitled to wins yet). If you face a tryhard SWF trying to bully low ranks, please show no mercy though

Note there's still a bug after 2 years where if some of the current survivors leave the lobby, the lobby can be bugged as a result no one will end up coming. This can also happen when 2-3 SWF comes in and then no one comes.

Now as for the topic, I never dodge any lobbies myself and would like to see the same for all Killers. The true balance of the game is not done properly because Killers can pick easier matches rather than facing hard match-ups. As a result, they keep getting easy 3-4 kills while some of us and survivors have to suffer

Bring back the 15 minutes time out for Lobby dodge per Killer, and only Killers, survivors have the excuse of dodging a lobby since the matchmaking sometimes finds people outside of your region and you end up with 200-600 ping which is unplayable.

If there was a bug where survivors can't join, then the penalty should not kick in to allow the killer to find a new lobby. So the punishment should only start when there are 4 survivors readying up and not leaving

When playing as a Survivor it is absolutely disgusting to see Killers abusing this, they are ruining the real statistics of the game and ended up giving false info on high ranks such as Nurse and Wraith have the same kill rate. Leatherface best killer at 3rd, Hag most 4k etc

Note that there is still a bug after 2 years where the survivors can quickswitch.

You never dodge lobbies, even if you have 1k ping? Those are survivors who make killers dodge the whole lobby btw

Bring back a 15 minute penatly for killer sure, I will simply go afk ingame then instead of dodging the lobby, game will be done quicker than the penalty

Devs are too incompetent to fix the 3 man lobby bug, how are they supposed to implement a system that triggers if that bug happens.

Actually its the survivors who give false statistics because they DC all the time if they play against something they dont like

I disagree, using darkening addons is the only way how to make traps viable in my opinion, sometimse you have to walk over gras

I'm a Trapper main that played since launch with over 2.7k hours. and what Rank do you play on? Survivors on Rank 1 would not walk in grasses this is a fact when they know they are up against a trapper. You don't even need Darkening if you gonna place them on grass anyway since it's all covered

The chance of someone running into a trap is ridiculously low. and is it even worth sacrificing an add-on slot when you can take the trapper bag which allows you to carry 2 more traps / Diamond stone for one hit kill on trap/ Setting addon that allows you to plant traps faster

the darkening is useless because there isn't that much difference between the default and the addons ones. the addon ones are only dark brown and that's it

Currently I am low rank because I started deranking regularly for two months now, not gonna play competitively anymore till devs fix their game. For some reason I face red rank survivors even at rank 18, devs did a pretty good job etc.

@DocOctober I think I know where your coming from because NOED can reward killers for their mistakes. However just keep this at the back of your head, most killers are weak, and can't apply pressure as fast as Nurse can. It's why you see Wrath and Freddy use NOED because regardless of how skillful the player is, they always get gen rushed but that's not their fault, the killer itself doesn't allow the player to be skillful. Yeah they can play a different killer but they might not want to.

Yes, but that is a problem of fundamentally flawed game mechanics and shouldn't be "fixed" with Perks.

Its sad, but devs actually try to fix their fundamentally flawed game mechanics with perks all the time

What do you mean "color add ons"?
    The "darkening" ones?

All Darkening addons on high ranks are useless, the only viable place is behind windows/ in jump spots/ in pellets. If there was an addon that makes Traps literally invisible, then it's a good addon. But changing colors to make traps darker are complete trash and not worth taking an addon slot

no survivors will dare walk on grasses when vs trapper unless they are forced to

I disagree, using darkening addons is the only way how to make traps viable in my opinion, sometimse you have to walk over gras

    The Doctor (4/7/3/5/1)

    • Iridescent Queen, UR: "A glass-like Queen chess piece moulded from The Fog itself, its sickly shimmering glow driving victims deeper and deeper into Madness." Doctor Hallucinations have a Terror Radius of 16 metres and will start walking towards afflicted Survivors. Can be seen by The Doctor as an allied Aura.

I like that idea, would make doc a lot more interesting>

    The Huntress (4/7/5/3/1)

    • Shimmering Concoction, UR: "An otherworldly concoction brewed from the essence of The Fog itself. It leaves a golden shimmer on the blades." Hit victims become momentarily disoriented, their vision becomes blurred (similar to the Afterpiece Tonic) for 2 seconds and their controls invert.

That last change would probably require the removal of the on-the-fly camera inversion that could be used to counteract it.

combine Amanita & Berus Toxins into one Add-on.

I wish inverting controls would be a thing for clown already, the vision blurr alone is rather weak

    @DocOctober said:

    The Nurse (6/4/5/5/0)

    • Smithson's Last Breath, UR: "A powerful last breath snatched from Sally Smithson by The Entity itself and given back to The Nurse. It sparkles with a bright, intense glow in her hand." Successful hits put Survivors into the Dying State, removes 1 Chain Blink, tremendously increases the maximum blink range, moderately decreases the fatigue time. Does not stack with Fragile Wheeze or Campbell's Last Breath

Not sure how that is supposed to work, every hit reduces your chain blinks by one, so after some insta downs you are a 1 blink nurse?

Im rank 18 killer, I played 10 matches today. Each one had swf where one was at least Rank 11 and lower. 2 matches where I had a rank 4 survivor and the rest were 8-11. When i was rank 1 survivor my brother got the game and I joined him as swf, each match i was a rank 1 survivor versing rank 18-20 killer.

How is this even remotely fair?

There needs to be a better system where a high rank survivor wont be paired with a low rank killer just because there's one low rank swf. Swf of these types should be placed mid rank or 3 ranks higher than the high ranked survivor.

Everybody knows that SWF isnt fair, it was added to a solo-survivor game. Of course it is broken if survivors can communicate in the game and if high ranks group up with low ranks,t hen they face a low rank killer, but thats a different story.

My advice is that you look at how fast the survivors join. If they all join at the same time or very shortly after each other, then its most likely a SWF. Anything larger than a 2man SWF should be dodged by you if you are an unexperienced killer.

In fact SWF is something that should only be possible in casual mode, it shouldnt be a thing in ranked mode

Just for your information, currently the killer is punished more if the survivors DC
    Lets sum up current situation:

    Killer DCs

    • 5k BP for each survivor
    • blackpip guaranteed (yes there is a visual bug for ages now but you never lose your rank)
    • survivors keep their items/addons

Survivor DCing (all 4 of them)

    • Killer gets 2500 BP
    • Killer loses addons/offerings
    • Killer blackpips

    I hope you understand now

I've actually kept my addons and items occasionally as a killer and as survivor I sometime lose items/addons depending on when the killer quits. I've never actually timed each time but there is a time duration that seems to determine what you keep. But offerings are always lost bot sides, even if the killer quits during loading screen.

In my case I did in fact depip not a visual bug since when I played my pips went up and down according to whether or not I hit that minus/even/positive areas. For the survivors if it does in fact actually depip not bug as in my case 4 get whacked versus the one killer.

Well unless you have footage of that happening, I dont believe you. Sometimes it looks like you lost your items as survivor, but they are just unequipped and just returned to your inventory (I remember at one point I actually lost my stuff, but never again). I have never get to keep my addons as killer after a game.

  • @Wolf74 said:
Trapper needs several things they did not mention in the Q&A:

    1. Fix his trap placement preview, so that it is 100% correct.
    2. Fix his reduced trap size. Devs already confirmed that this was unintentional. But beside the ever popular "we look into it" nothing ever happend. Trapper should be able to completely block chokepoints and there shouldn't be so many spots that the survivor can squeeze past the trap, but the killer get trapped in his own trap.
    3. This is a general one, but anyway, bring back the killers old Fov. I know, this thing is so old that a lot of player don't even remember that this was nerfed ages ago (to solve the locker peek issue, this was meant to be until they get a better fix, which never happend).
    4. Add the Hindered status effect to the Trappers base kit. We are talking about frickin beartraps smashing your legs. Make the effect last until healed.
    5. Dead Hard should not be capable to avoid beartraps. The original description mentions protection from damage (= hits with the main weapon), but this should not include getting trapped.
    6. Increase the disarm time, so that the killer actually gets a time advantage and no one should be capable to follow the killer and disarm the traps at the same speed as he sets them. Or disarm traps mid chase.
    7. Give some extra effect if the victim that steps into the trap was already injured (longer hindered, longer escapetime, ,etc)
    8. The "darkening" effect for traps should not just make them literally darker, but more transparent, so that the effect is beneficial on any surface.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmyIbKL3kxg

    1. Yes its quite annoying
    2. Most ridiculous thing is if the survivors sneaks around the trap somehow and when you are trying the same, then you run into your own trap, in fact I get so mad when this happens that I will make that survivor suffer after this even if it wasnt there fault
    3. Has nothing to do with trapper, but yeah I agree
    4. probably
    5. definitely, same reason as in 2
    6. We will have to see what the new addons offer
    7. Dont think that this is necessary
    8. In my opinion traps should be darker by default, the current default color is ridiculous tbh

That is the problem with developers these days. They don't really care too much about the community of their games and kind of do whatever they want. That however will be saved for another time. I just hope that we at least can get some kind of idea here and that someone might see and understand the kind of changed needed for the hatch. No likes those stand offs, it's a really boring waiting game.

Survivors represent rougly 80% of the community and thus represent 80% of the wallets, dont forget that

  • Devs show no intention to change anything when it comes to matchmaking. Dont know whether they are just lazy or if the code has been done so bad in the first time that it is hard to change now, but all I see is that that the SWF kicking out of lobby and quickswitching thing is for ages in the game now.

If they actually reworked the matchmaking system, then they would have to adress the SWF balance issues too (SWF indication, extra queues?), I guess thats why they dont bother iwth it atm

  • @chickenman12365 said:
To be honest, i think it's a bit ridiculous that the clown moves at 4.6m/s. The clown's power, as is (without addons), slows survivors that get hit with the gas by 15% for 2 seconds. Normally, survivors move at 4m/s. Under the effects of the gas, they move at 3.4m/s. In 2 seconds, (assuming he's moving the entire time) the clown can move 9.2 meters. A survivor as is can move 8 meters in 2 seconds. This is a 1.2 meter difference for just 2 seconds, meaning the clown can catch up to the survivor by 1.2 m/s. Under the effects of the gas, the survivor can move 6.8 m/s (assuming they dont run into anything, because it's hard to see). This is a difference of 2.4. That means the clown catches up to you at twice the speed. And on top of that, the clown doesnt even appear to be slowed while throwing a potion. Maybe for charging up a potion he does get slowed, yes, but i havent seen a single clown actually charge a throw like you would on a huntress, maybe. They just click for a second and throw it, and they dont even have to hit you with it, it's a relatively big area of effect, so he only has to land in your general area. I think that the clown should have his movement speed lowered, or at least get slowed while throwing a bottle. The huntress cant just click for a second and throw a fast hatchet, can she? She has to charge it, and it slows her while doing so. I see no reason why the huntress has to charge up a hatchet to throw it quickly, but the clown can just tap the key (to my knowledge) and throw it full speed, and only has to hit kinda close to you. (I'm on the side of the huntress there, she's fine. I think the clown isnt.

You just need practice how to play against him. IN my opinion he is considerably weaker than huntress and is between all the other killers in trashtier if he doesnt have the ultra rare instadown addon. But since its ultra rare, you cannot rely on it.

  • You should have camped, you need to bait the survivor towards you because otherwise they just gonna run to the pallet areas where they are safe

I thought it would be nice to share it here.

Stuff like this makes me sad. Some community members take so much time to do sth like this and then I look at the devs....

That's because the devs have to make the game profitable for it to continue existing, and can't dedicate several days of their work for stuff like that. Community members who make this stuff, on the other hand, are largely unemployed or otherwise have a ton of time on their hands; furthermore, nobody gets pissy if they get something wrong.

Funny, but in some other companies they are able to do a lot more with a lot less manpower.

The two of us remaining gen rush like crazy and leave while she was throwing hatchets from the hook on the other side of the map to the exit gate we opened (she definetly knew we weren't near the hook and still didn't move away).
Game ended with her having 6k bp, while we escaped with 10k, and I find out she even had Devour Hope and when I make her notice how boring it was, the answer was "sabo=camp".
I mean... really? I just sabotaged a hook for a goddamn daily and we all had a horrible and useless match just for that? And this is not the first time it happened, as soon as they see someone sabotage hooks (even in a "non-toxic" way) killers seems to take a mission to make the game miserable for everyone.
I always see people complaining about survivors not doing side objectives, they need other things to do besides repairing gens, that gen rush is a problem etc... then when one does other than repairing gens with little to no harm to the killer this happens. No wonder why survivors prefer to focus on gens and ignore other parts of the game.

    Why?
I suggest you play killer yourself. A chase can actually take ages and if you manage to finally down him it is a really bad feeling if your acomplishment gets taken away by a DS or a hook sabotage.

I will camp ur ass if you sabotage in front of me, if you sabotage a random hook on the other side of the map, I dont give a damn though

Did you just assume I don't play killer with no evidence whatsoever?
I perfectly know what it's like from the other side and I still remember when sabo was meta. Now if it happens to me I don't get childishly salty, because I know it requires effort and dedication, way more than hitting a skillcheck or pointing a flashlight.
If the whole swf squad is doing it, that's a reason to get triggered, but that happens like once every 500 games. If it's just one lone survivor well, it's one less person on gens and you can just trick him to go to a hook and then go to another one.
Also, let's stop pretending that fully sabotaging a hook in a remote part of the map is useful. 99ing them is currently the only way to make sabo really have an effect.

As I said, when you sabotage a hook on the other side of the map, I dont care.
However, if you sabotage a hook in front of me and deny my deserved hook, then you will regret

Means: Killer that Slug till 4 survivor r down and Hardcore Camp/Survivors gen rushing and escaping fast get very less XP?

Only if the survivors are dickheads and dont leave.
In fact I derank by staying afk somewhere and I can confirm that survivors will always prolong the game to tbagg an afk killer (I know its ridiculous, but it happens in at least 80% of my deranking games)

Of course it can also happen that survivors finish the game in 3 minutes if you are afk, because sadly gens can pop that quickly

I just read a forum that kind of upset me. Honestly the whole pc vs console seems stupid to me. Can't we all just enjoy the fact that we all found a game we love to play. Either as a killer or a surv. I've made some of the best friends of my life from dbd and I know I'm gonna get some hate because I play in swf groups but the guys I play with make me laugh and smile. They just make my days all round better, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way. The level of toxic isn't needed for any reasons. We've all played through the bugs, dealt with cheaters, waited for our updates,  and expressed joy when we finally get them. Rather we play on pc or console. We can fight people being toxic about things just by trying to friendly at the end of a match and not sending toxic messages just because we got tunnelled, hook camped, or pallet looped. We want our community to grow, not scare new players off because they hear about how hateful everyone is. We should come here to talk about the game not about what platform is better. Some of us play console because its easier for us and the same goes for pc. I hope you all have a Wonderful night.

    Honestly I couldnt care less.
Killers are weak AF on any platform and on the console versions my fellow killer mains even have to struggle with controller aim and low FPS, I kinda feel bad for them that they cant afford a PC

If the submitted accounts do not play dead by daylight....they will be kicked out of the raffle. (at least according to not queen's statement.)

And....there might be more raffles....with different rules. who knows.

Forum accounts have no connection at all to the DBD accounts, this would only make sense if the raffle would happen in the steam forums

Exactly, Runiver. Survivors simply recover too quickly, in a manner completely disproportionate to the time Killers spend to injure them in the first place. It's baffling that in a 4v1 asymmetrical game, the (supposed) strong side wastes 60 seconds achieving something that one member of the (supposed) weak side can undo in 10 seconds.

Yes but in DBD the "weak" side is actually not weak, thats what causes all this problems. This is not gonna be changed however, dev have showed no intention at all to change that

I know. It's in the massive OP I wrote. However, the devs are clearly trying to change that.

Not really tbh, I thought looping would radically change when they promised mindgame pallets for 2.0, but look what we got..... nothing changed besides from teh vacuum

The change they made was believed by everyone to change looping. It didn't work out that way. It happens. However, it's exactly what everyone believed would be sufficient to change looping.

Like I said in another thread, the problem, in the end, will always be the Survivors. Remove pallet vacuum, they just make fewer loops before dropping the pallet.
Radical changes are necessary, to massively shift the game in the Killers' favor and force Survivors to play better. As proven by the so-called "Depip squad", if Survivors play optimally, Killers cannot succeed. The only way this will change is through a massive shift in the Killers' favor.

They were explaining that they plan to introduce more obstacles at the loops such that the survivor cant see the killer that easy anymore which gives the possibility to mindgame.
But FACT is that they did not even try it, nothing has changed at all, survivors has clear sight everywhere

A massive shift towards the killers favor is not gonna happen, survivors represent 80% of the wallets and apparently devs are too scared to risk their wallets^^

  • Lets face it guys, survivors have abused mechanics that would punish the killer for camping, so that is off the table.
The only way how to rreduce camping would be to give INCENTIVE for the killer not to camp and this has been suggested several times already (trues idea to debuff genspeed for fresh hooks e.g.)
But then survivors cried that this would be a killer buff, so we will stick to the current situation

  • Just for your information, currently the killer is punished more if the survivors DC
    Lets sum up current situation:

    Killer DCs

    • 5k BP for each survivor
    • blackpip guaranteed (yes there is a visual bug for ages now but you never lose your rank)
    • survivors keep their items/addons

Survivor DCing (all 4 of them)

    • Killer gets 2500 BP
    • Killer loses addons/offerings
    • Killer blackpips

    I hope you understand now

  • Sprint burst needs to get rid of the instant acceleration

  • Yes, but devs either dont understand or they dont wanna risk survivors closing their wallets

Same for clicking the flashlight btw, there is no reason why such a thing should be possible

If another survivor dc's the other get faster!

Survivors DC almost every game already, no need to give additional incentive to DC

  • Theoretically yes, but you wont be banned for it if that makes sense for you

Hey guys, I have been requested to post this so happy to have some feedback. Currently if you start a match and you load in and killer d/cs - Survivor's end up depipping - Is there any way this can be rectified or fixed? I think the 5000BP for quitting and 1000+ it is for killer too is great but I really think there should be a failsafe of depipping if people quit or leave, that's killer OR survivor.

As survivor you will alwasy black pip at least if the killer DCs. If it is shown as depip, then its a known visual bug, but you dont actually lose your rank

  • You will never know before somoeone loses his progress

  • Prestiging is only there for the hardcore players that like the grind and like to show off.
That is its only purpose and it should not give great rewards, its only for showoff

  • I would like to see a shirtless huntress
