Does anyone know the exact numbers on the boosted rate for the RPD map?
-
I ran "Aftercare" for this challenge. It took a while to complete sure....but it happened.
-
I was in a match yesterday on ps5 and the bug is still not patched yet.

So can you still complete every node after you hit the final one or should you do them all before selecting the eye icon?
Yes, the tome challenges can be completed at any time, and can be completed even after completing that "level". The only thing that is time sensitive and can be "missed" is the "Rift" it's self.

Thanks for that info! I bought the digital game but I can not seem to launch it without the disc installed. What should I do? PS4 will not load it, insists on the disk.
I had a similar issue to this a while back. I had to fully uninstall the game...and then re-download the digital one.

My personal take is to avoid regrets and worry if possible. Worrying makes you suffer more than once, and regrets have a habit of preventing you from living your life to the fullest.
If one were to regret not opening their heart and having an honest and open conversation with their ex, I would say give it a go. (This is bearing in mind certain other dangerous factors are not in play.)
It will hurt, and will probably not lead to things being as they were. But, it should help in removing the regret surrounding it.
My personal opinion, take as you will.

I personally have my sound muted so the screams of the characters don't deafen me.

Dark souls 1, 2, 3, Bloodborne, Friday the 13th, Minecraft, Ark.
Or when the stars align: Mabinogi, Armello, Elder scrolls online, Portal 2, Realm of the mad god, runescape.
-
It honestly sounds like it's redownloading the whole game. Mine was no where near that size. Keep us informed of changes.
-
Very nice addition. It makes me wonder if new items will be introduced. Thank you for posting this. You have rekindled my want of explosives and light based items.
-
I'm pleasantly enjoying freddy overall. Being able to alter reality on some scale and being able to be almost anywhere....is quite closer to the freddy I remember growing up.
-
Not bad at all. I personally would opt for a stone like/older background. (Like cave painting walls, or a wilderness.)
Looks good though. Thanks for posting this.
-
Your art is very nice. Thanks for posting it. The wraith looks so cute and melancholy, I just want to give hugs.

It isn't perfect and is marketed, but here's an idea for one for the medkits.
You can also use this torch template and paint over/edit colors digitally for a makeshift flashlight.

I too have considered killers having an ability to interact with totems and other objects. But, due to time constraints in a match....killers have to be on their toes.
It's not a bad idea per say....it's just the "stomping" doesn't quite fit with the idea that the totems are used to curse survivors in the first place. Perhaps if they were to "Ignite" it like the "kindle" feature on dark souls....I would think it would work better visually. (although, then devs would have to create a whole new animation.)
-
What are your reasons why he is so bad?
-
Freddy has become an exciting new experience. Part of me wants even more dream abilities. But, I am currently happy with how things turned out.
-
Visions of madness and former lives flashed before the girl's eyes as her essence floated skyward and into the maul of the entity. Suddenly, she awoke beside an eerie burning campfire. "That could of gone better." she said to the dancing flames.
-
I also found snares to be quite wonderful so far. I didn't expect them to be so useful. I use the teleportation feature to move around the map, scare survivors, and teleport to a nearby gen in order to catch my prey while chasing them.
So far, it has been an interesting experience. I will try pallets soon and see if I get a different level of results or not.

"Bastille Day is the common name given in English-speaking countries to the national day of France, which is celebrated on 14 July each year. In French, it is formally called la Fête nationale (French pronunciation: [la fɛt nasjɔnal]; "The National Celebration") and commonly and legally le 14 juillet (French pronunciation: [lə katɔʁz(ə) ʒɥijɛ]; "the 14th of July").[3]
The French National Day is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789,[1][2] a turning point of the French Revolution,[4] as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France. The oldest and largest regular military parade in Europe[citation needed]is held on 14 July on the Champs-Élysées in Paris in front of the President of the Republic, along with other French officials and foreign guests." ~Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bastille_Day
For those curious about the day.

Slam all the pallets you encounter while out of a chase and then ignore any you aren't sure are real when in a chase. This way his Dream Pallet add-on is useless. :^)
That is an idea....a good one in general. But, then you won't have a defense against him, minus windows and bait switching. Or do you employ another method?
-
An interesting idea. I would like to see this implemented. In my opinon, we need more locker play.
-
It looks quite awesome!
Honestly though. How much did it hurt getting, and waiting for it to heal?
-
I think it's cool, what do you think?
I love special effects when I can get them.
-
I personally have been craving a campaign story mode for dead by daylight. Painful as it may be, reliving the days before the entity swallowed our characters would be interesting.
-
I'm excited to get more story to tie all these pieces together. I have a feeling a lot of them will end in tears.
Also, hoping for more events in the future that may give more lore potential.

Here's my take
Lore: a young boy who was born with deformations and mental problems due to being beaten while in the womb, the only thing jason loved was his mother, and as she was murdered before his very eyes, a rage built up inside that can only be satisfied in blood. Now a fully grown adult, his mother's voice repeating in his head "kill for mother jason, KILL THEM!" as he stalks the teenagers that roam his land, his twisted brain making him believe they are the ones who killed his beloved mother
Weapon: Machete. The weapon mother used, jason idolizes her and wishes he could as good at killing as she was
Power: Territorial rage
Jason voorhees despises trespassers on his and mother's land; the more he observes the habits of the teenagers, the more his rage builds until it can be satisfied only with blood. Upon stalking a survivor, he will enter rage mode. Nothing will stop him from satisfying his desire to kill; flashlights and firecrackers will not blind jason; pallets will not stun jason and will break upon being throwing down while in rage. Rage will be active for 30 seconds and jason will only be able to enter rage upon observing different survivors (similar to the limited evil within from michael myers)
Perk 1: Hunter's instinct
Hiding from a psychotic killer is never a good idea; upon entering a locker, the survivor's aura will be visible to the killer for 3,4,5 seconds
Perk 2: Rule of 3
As with all slashers, there's a cliche when it comes to 3. Every 3rd blind or pallet stun will be ineffective against the killer, additionally every 3rd missed attack will have a a 15,20,25% cooldown
Perk 3: It's quiet...too quiet
Upon completion of 3 generators, the terror radius of the killer will be reduced to zero until the exit gates are powered; upon the exit gates being powered, the terror radius is increased by 50%
"Kill, kill, kill...mom, mom, mom"
Add-ons
Rage building add-ons
Mother's severed head: jason's beloved mother's head, tremendously increases rate at which rage is gained
Mother's sweater: Pamela Voorhees dusty, bloodstained sweater, used by ginny to trick jason into believing she was his mother. Moderately increases rate at which rage is gained
Rage duration add-ons
Used condom: Premarital sex is something jason despises, after all, that's what got him killed as a boy. increases rage duration by 5 seconds
Joint roach: A classic slasher movie mistake, smoking pot wiith a killer on the loose. Increases rage duration by 3 seconds
Empty beer can: Partying is prohibited at crystal lake, and jason will make sure alcohol-filled blood is spilled. Increases rage duration by 2.5 seconds
Killing add-ons
Rusty machete: the blood and rust of many teens fuels jason to kill all on his land. Upon activation of rage, enables the ability to kill healthy, injured or downed survivors. Considerably increases rage required to activate
Aged hockey mask. The haunting mask seen from afar is the last thing some teens see before their demise. Upon activation of rage, enables the ability to kill healthy, injured or downed survivors. Considerably increases rage required to activate
Surprise scare add-ons
Crystal lake sign: An old wooden sign that once stood at crystal lake. Upon entering rage, terror radius is reduced to zero
Candle. A candle used to light mother's shrine.
upon entering rage, removes red stain
Effect add-ons
Ice-pick. The weapon jason used to skayer the life of ginny, who killed his mother. Survivors hit with jason't machete will siffer from the exhausted effect for 30 seconds
Pick-axe. Jason't first weapon used to kill the teens at the packanack lodge. Survivors hit with jasons machete will suffer from the blindness effect for 30 seconds
Spear. Jason's first weapon as a deadite. Survivors hit with jasons machete suffer from the laceration effect, increased brightness of blood
Axe. Jason's secondary weapon of choice. Survivors hit with jasin's machete will have louder grunts of pain when injured
The survivor that goes with jason should obviously be tommy jarvis
Jason's default skin should be his part 3 and 4 look. Additional skins could be his part 2 look, deadite jason should be part 7, and über jason should also be a skin
Prestieging: Blood-stained mask at P1, Blood-stained work shirt and Jeans at P2 and a blood-stained machete at P3
Let me know what you guys think!
Reply with any suggestions or your take on jason's power, lore, etc.
I was going to add a similar styled power, but I really like what you did with it. Very creative.

Scared of Heights.
I literally have issue going higher than the fourth floor if it's really obvious.(open to the air, or has a balcony of some kind.)
Glass elevators would probably end me.
The odd thing is I can climb a tree taller than four stories with less issue than climbing stairs the same height.

I'm sad I didn't get here sooner. Your work is beautiful and I love how you are trying new things. Keep up the good work, but don't stress either. Thanks for the inspiration to try new things.

It depends. Are there fresh strawberries in the strawberry ice cream? If yes....then I wants that right now.
If not, then I would go with chocolate.
(My all time fave is "mint chocolate chip" though.)

"United we stand, Divided we fall" sounds like a good name for a mode like this.
Instead of five perks for survivors......just 3.
Survivors get three perks and the third perk has to be from their chosen character.
Survivors also can't be the same character as another survivor.
Killers on the other hand, get 6 perks. This comes with a few rules though.
Killers will be able to have specific slots for each type of perk (Max 5 specific slots.)
1-deviousness perk (tinkerer, insidious, etc.)
1-brutality perk (enduring, brutal strength, etc.)
1- detection perk (Surveillance, barbecue and chili, etc.)
1- obsession perk (Save the best for last, Rancor, etc.)
1- character perk (Specific to killer)
(The last slot is free reign to choose how you wish)
Will the survivors work together and utilize their different strengths, or will they fall prey to the killer.

An interesting idea. I could see several of these aspects turned into several different modes. "Entity's Sacrifice" and "Hide or Die".
In the sacrifice mode, I would say a visual effect should be visible of the entity offering it's parishioner/prisoner a glowing orb or box. Much like you can see the entity drag people into the sky when they are sacrificed. This should balance things a bit, letting players know when you got a trump card. (I would also make the time for prayer a lot longer. 30 seconds to 1 minute perhaps. Or perhaps you can have it speed up for the "losing" side as they get more desperate and pray even more fervently.
In hide or die mode, I would say that the killer should be able to down in one hit. Considering the goal is stealth and not survival. Don't be found before time runs out....or become a tasty treat for the killer. The time could be something like 10-20 minutes depending. Would need some testing though.
Just some personal ideas and opinions.

I would like to see a system implemented that adds onto totem functionality.
One of my current ideas involves taking "items"(token only) from survivors and using it on the totems like a curse on the survivors in some way.
But looking for a way to increase game time while not throwing off the balance of killer and survivor is interesting.
One way could be to erect a barrier over the exit gate, and require all dull totem to be broken to open. (Will balance the want of bringing hex and will make survivor have extra thing to do before they can leave.) Of course, we would have to deal with the hatch then...but one thing at a time.
Another idea is that all dull totem that are left on the map at EGC will turn into a "creature" that will walk around and try to grapple survivors, slowing them down. Will then have to stop and shake them off or continue moving slowly. Do bones or face the wrath of the entity. (this idea will not extend game time in general, but we could extend end game collapse a little longer if it becomes an overwhelming issue.)
Just some personal thoughts on totems.
-
Variety is the spice of life. I wouldn't mind trading out gens entirely for an entirely new system. Or perhaps add more things necessary to complete a match.
Example for second one: 2 special fragments are hidden around the map somewhere and they must be collected. Collecting these fragments will enable you to bring down the entity's barrier on the door locks. The pedestals where these fragments are placed are in two places. one in the central building and one in a random location a certain number of tiles away.
simple enough in theory, Complete gens as normal....and keep an eye out for a fragment. (only 1 is needed to complete the barrier dissolving.) find fragment before last gen pops hopefully, dissolve barrier, open gates/hatch, leave.)
It will probably need some tweaking, but it's an idea to keep the current system and still add on to it.
-
I like the idea overall and it is well thought. I personally would prefer for the mechanic to be unaffected by perks in general though.
-
Thanks for the shoutout. We will continue to do our best in providing this community with a positive environment. It's all thanks to all of you, the awesome posters and forum members....that we even have a forum. Thank you all!!!
-
Thanks for the support! It is very much appreciated.
-
I'm not personally fond of the struggle mechanic. I can envision a possible new one though.
Picture you are on the hook, and a circle is in front of you. On this circle, there are 4 smaller circles in the North, south, east, and west positions. Every so many seconds or so, (we'll say 7 for ease of example).....one of the smaller circles flashes in some way and you have to point your left analog stick/WASD keys in that direction.
If successful, you stave off one of the entities "claws" and can continue to live.
This prevents repetitive button mashing and continues to make sure you have to pay attention and not run to the fridge for a drink or something.
Just one of the many ideas I have, let me know what you think. (hopefully no one else has thought this one up yet.)
-
I recall someone saying a while ago: "If you see red, you are probably dead." or something similar. (badly paraphrased i'm sure.)
But, the idea was....if you can perceive the killer's red stain, they are too close for you to make the vault. Not sure how accurate that is, but it has been helping me personally.
-
Nothing is stored locally. The save files and game files are saved to the servers.
-
Without challenge, where would we be. Thank you for your positive attitude on such a matter! ❤️
-
I find this website useful for build construction. http://www.dbdbuilder.net/
I doubt we will get more "generic" perk slots. (But I'm holding out hope for special situational perks that can affect the environment in some way. (might be combined with an offering.)

A bit off topic: when will the archives update be released?
The roadmap stated somewhere between the next chapter, and the following one. (It is also stated that this is a tentative release. Which means the timing may change as needed.)
--------------------------------------
It has always been my personal working theory theory that with enough given time, anyone could manipulate the entity's realm. (One of the reasons the entity keeps you hopping.)
The Archives remind me of the akashic records a bit, but on a very reduced and smaller scale, and only pertaining to this realm and those within.
I wouldn't call it safe per say, but like how the characters can sense/feel/and travel the bloodweb....It may all be a mental construct. (The archivist could simply be projecting data into their minds from somewhere else in the fog.)
Although, that also means the identity and motives of the Archivist may not be so pragmatic as they first seem, but could be a servant of the entity.
Memories are the very essence of congealed hope and despair. Some are better left forgotten.
(my personal take on it, anyway. Which may change as we learn more.)
-
key escapes are a rare occurrence for me personally. It's frustrating that all the survivors keep leaving without even offering me some of those tasty marshmallows they must be roasting over the campfire.
-
Not a bad stealth build, indeed.
I personally like calm spirit, urban evasion, spine chill, (Iron will, which I trade out with a supplement perk as needed.)
