Hello, there will be the anniversary tournament soon.
There were a lot of teams registered (170)... and the bracket only seems to show 16 teams:

how were the teams "qualified"?

    I guess we'll see how many of those teams have Twitch or YouTube channels...

    Probably a first come first serve. I dont think they anticipated the huge response. They were just looking for 8 teams per console originally

    They did not pick the first 16 to register... that's why i was asking.
    Sadly, i think that SpaceCoconut is right, because i saw some teams with famous streamers that were picked.

    There was no qualification, devs cherry picked a few NA streamers basically.

    The fact that the tournament is in a timeslot where the lowest amount of DBD players usually is active speaks for itself.

    The selection process was entirely aimed at Streamers and past Space tournament players. They even said in the Discord users who participated before got prereged before anyone else.

    This is essentially a favorites tourney with the "idea" that anyone could join. It's actually a hilarious farce.

    They didnt even state you couldn't sign up for multiple tourneys, but now all of a sudden BHVR says you cant even after teams have been chosen. This whole tourney just reeks of shady practices and nonsense.

    Oh but dont say anything to the people who run it, or you may be barred from participating ever simply cause they dont like you.

    they should have worded it as invitation only

    Yeah. I don't mind if it's invitation only, as long as it's stated as such. At the same time, maybe the interest was so huge, they couldn't accept everyone. And that is a shame. In this case, it should have been first come first served. It's just for fun anyway.

    If you want a REAL tourney, then let's do a ladder with weekly scrims leading up to a finals.

    The Daylight Competitive Group tried a couple times to make public tournaments with rewards, but their ignorant admin demanded point multipliers for certain perk use, and tried to implement rules against camping, and the whole thing became laughable so he quit and the group dissolved.

    ok, that's what i thought. seeing that there were more than 100 teams and the tournament was only the 22...
    i'm kinda disappointed because once again, they do not reward the community but only some lucky people. :'(

    Community is tired... i'm so tired i don't even report cheaters anymore! Why would i lose my time when i know for a fact that they don't give a sh*t?
    There are a lot of speedhackers or Lf who can down 4 survivors accross the map in one sec... they don"t even try to hide! they are just there to ruin the game.

    The game feels stuck and the grind for skins is worthless... Almost all of my friends quit and i almost don't play anymore. :'(
