  • Everything was fine before the event, even in the first days during the event I got instant queues.
Now that survivors are done with the quest on their side, killer queues are insane.

    Coincidence?
    I doubt that

Killer lobbies on PS4 are fine at the moment. Can usually get a game going in a minute or so. As mentioned my problem is time to play.

Don't know what your rank is, but I have to wait more than 10 minutes to get just a single person in my lobby (I am rank 1).

Should have deranked before the event....

This Halloween event has shown that adding a secondary objective in addition to the generators is a great idea. However, milking these plants doesn't help survivors in the game and has caused killers to have an easy time of it.

So what if instead of these plants, there were 4 shrines to the entity where you can worship -- one for each survivor. By worshipping at these shrines, you remove a penalty that you receive to start the match and receive a random gift and bloodpoints -- maybe a 25 percent bonus for the match.

One idea for the penalty could be 1 of your perks selected randomly each match cannot be used until you worship at a shrine.

Some ideas for the gifts could be the next time you're hooked there's no sacrifice progression for 30 seconds, the next time you're in a chase leave no scratch marks for 1 minute, all of the killer's perks are deactivated for 45 seconds, the next time you're in the killer's terror radius his aura is revealed for 10 seconds.

This objective wouldn't be mandatory so you could choose to ignore it, but you would be handicapped for the match and miss out on bloodpoints and a cool gift from the entity.

    What do you guys think?

    Generally I like the idea.

But you do realize that its a big joke suggesting the bad effect for survivors to disable a single perk, but the bad effect for the killre would be to completely deny his loadout?

Also it wouldnt solve the issue of genrush games which are still the most optimal way to play. The secondary objective needs to be tied into the main objective if you ask me

This event is trash. All the killer has to do is hook me.. i have to juice a plant for 25 seconds... this game is not assymetrical, its purely one sided... the devs dont care if the majority of this games base are survivors... its geared towards making the game easier for killers. Come at me bro.

Are you trying to get your killer vials now?
    Still easier as killer?

They should have a garunteed match make system which lets you connect with all players online regardless of level and region after 5 mins of searching. Best connection players are prioritised before you complain being put in a match from someone on ugandan McDonald's wifi

It doesnt matter if you search worldwide.
If the WHOLE dbd population is playing the other side, that naturally leads to higher queue times in an asymetrical game.

We can only get ping filters if we get dedicated servers, and that will sadly never happen I guess

@Master - i've lost more kills by ppl saving DS and hitting me with it at the gate more than anything else. I don't consider my suggestion to be a 'buff' in any way. I know that if they went on a hook once, their ass is going on a hook again. Nothings gonna decisively strike me except more bloodpoints. But i'm tired of DS being saved to the last minute or being hit with it after i spent 6 seconds carrying them to a ******* hook. Call it a buff if you choose but i'll sleep better.

Ofc there are stupid survivors, nobody denies that.
Your suggestion is a straight buff, at least thats how you described it.

Says a salty killer. I don't mind being killed if the killer is good and plays by some level of sportsmanship - doesn't camp for example. If they go out of their way to be toxic then yes, I want to ban them. I've had threats from killers who I block on steam - this game should honor those blocks, plain and simple. Even with the poor killers if I die, I just move on to the next game. My post was about removing toxicity - if you think you're going to be banned by every survivor then maybe you should examine how you play.

    "says a salty killer"

With that sentence you disqualified yourself to have a proper argument.

Neither of the "this is business" excuses make sense. Maybe the did a cost benefit analysis of whether dedicated servers would increase profits, and the answer was "no", but to just say "they're making money, why bother" is a ridiculously over simplified idea of how businesses operate. Dedicated servers could very well increase profits by bringing more people into the player base and increases profits. Dedicated servers cost money, so if you AREN'T giving money to them, there is no chance they'll happen.

We haven't seen their code, but there is no reason to believe that changing to dedicated servers should be an impossible task. You already have 4 of the 5 participants connecting to a remote host, you switch and have the killer do the same thing and you got dedicated hosting.

Dedicated servers are not that expensive nowadays anymore.
The expensive part is paying the programmers for doing their job of redoing their spaghetti code. Sure, its not impossible but it will not be easy to change something as fundamental as netcode.

The player base keeps growing, money still comes in, but the devs still ignore the biggest issues of the game and prefer focusing on lore etc

If you’re gonna count all survivors as a collective, know that WGLF gives points to 1/4, while BBQ is points to 1/1. Yeah, you’re stupid 1/4 doesn’t work here...

Giving WGLF ANY effect in addition to BP bonusgain would be OP. Want those bonusBP? Sacrifice a perkslot for it. I'm all for giving WGLF through stuff like saboing a hook while a killer with a survivor on his shoulder is near n stuff like that but WGLF doesn't need a BBQ like secondary effect.

Oh, I want token buffs too. Hello my friend

I think the 100% BP increase is already fair enough, BBQ also just gives 100% so why would WGLF give you more esp if we'd make the conditions easier to meet.

I meant keep it 100%, make it easier to get 4 tokens. And even though it SHOULD be easier IN THEORY, it’s much harder to get consistently 4 stacks of WGLF. Meanwhile I get 4 bbq every game

Not in a genrush game though

BBQ is really 2 perks (aura and points). W'e're Going To Live Forever only awards points for survivor so why not split that BBQ into 2 perks? Or, remove the aura for those already hooked once.

Also, when only survivors are left, it's a bit OP - possibly remove the aura at that point if the above isn't done.

Most killers SAY they only run it for the points so splitting it, or removing the aura for those hooked once should be acceptable to all.

Dedicated servers are not such a clear cut best option. Just a couple, for example:

1: More lag for killers. Right now, everything is handled on your end. When you should get a hit, you get a hit. With a dedicated server, there's going to be a delay on everything you do. If someone vaults a window and you hit them them, you might not get a hit because by the time that command gets to the server, they're out of range and safe. It's important that the killer is able to consistently get hits, and missing a single one due to lag can buy the survivor a significant amount of time.

I will call this one out. If you're going to run 30-tick servers, then yes. This is why you run 60-tick servers, which is why they are run in FPS games. It's to take that lag to an absolute minimum.

It's also why you run region based servers, otherwise, you run into the other issue you mentioned, which is exactly why Paladins is such a trash game if you're not U.S. based.

I've looked at BHVR as a company at their website. They certainly don't seem to be a small company. It just seems like they'd prefer not to make the necessary investment for servers in DBD.

Ticks work only on server-side. If you're having 200 ping, tick-rate doesn't matter. We already have players with 200-ish ping on P2P connection. Servers would crank this up for them by next 20-50ms.

I'm not an IT tho, I might be wrong.

Basically you are right, but don't forget that you will have better latency to a server than to another random player in the p2p system

I know lot of people are playing killer, but everytime i get into killer, i find almost the same survivors again and again.
Also, on my friends list, there are a lot of guys who don't play anymore or playing very rarely (even the hardcore ones).
We always know BHVR don't care about console, so maybe this is deserved.
    Reasons players get away:

    • Pallet nerf
    • Healing nerf
    • Vault nerf
    • Event patch made FPS worse for Killers (playing with skins is like restarting the game every 5 matches)
Ps.: I am a Killer main, before someone say "You are crying."

FPS is the same as before for me.

As survivor I barely see a difference except that some of the broken loops are closed now

Play with new killer skins and reply this same sentence.
Well, i feel worst fps, maybe its me only.

I do play with the new skins, no fps difference for me, but optimization isn't good in general
