Meyers and Ghost Face also needs to be banned as well maybe Dredge. They can highlight survivors with their powers completely ignoring the darkness.
They don't get highlighted, but you CAN kinda get clues by stalking in a direction and seeing if you get stalk progress.

huh really. Goes to show how un popular this perk is that even when slugging was deemed to be first gaining popularity this was just not seen even post knock out nerf.
Yeah, I remember seeing a video of someone using it on Trickster. 1 knife hit is enough to trigger.

Honestly, by the responses they gave, it's not fully clear if the split-in-half part of the mori was impossible to do or if it was impossible only within the time they had. And if it would be possible to do it with more time, then yeah, I wish they had delayed the chapter instead of giving us something different from what was voted.
Or even better, I hope they still take time to try to bring that mori to life. Because if they COULD do it with more time and chose not to do it, that's a huge letdown.
Kinda makes sense that the current mori was easier and faster to do since they already had the survivor model. Jason's mori already has the burnt survivor model, so transferring it over rather than making a split in half model is alot easier.

Mirrored Illusion, Chem Trap, Bada Bada Boom, Blast Mine. Huge killer time wasters. The trap perks are best to pre-set on a strong-ish pallet and window setup. If you play it right, you can get a killer to swing at the illusion, get blinded on the gen kick, and then have to chase around a window and pallet trap. Massive time sink for the killer.
Imma be real... id probably throw the match to make sure you died after that, lol. I'll take a 1k if YOU died over a 3k if you lived if ya pulled something like that.

I still like Franklin's Demise even after it's 'nerf.' Since it no longer reduces charges survivors will almost always waste time to run back to get it. Whereas if it lost charges they wouldn't bother usually. Plus it's very common to see all 4 survivors at the higher levels bring items.
Sure not a great perk, but still deserves more credit than it gets.
I've been using it quite abit on Jason and one thing im LOVING is how it screws over sabo saves. Often times, survivors will tank a hit then use a toolbox to sabo while your in the cooldown animation. Franklins completely botches that.

Alright you got me there.
That doesn't change reality he still got hit with nerfs, and significant ones at that.
Only 1 addon got a nerf significantl enough to change anything and that was Sauna rock. Anyone with a working brain could've seen that coming since exhaustion doesnt go down while survivors are running, so 13 seconds of it guaranteed you never saw an exhaustion perk get used ever. Considering the basekit buff he got, as well as the buffs to his other addons... I think overall he came out on top.
They buffed what I would consider his best addon, lol

The amount of bad takes on this forum is unreal.

But sure. Everytime bhvr went for a meta overhaul the only argument they brought up was popularity. Never they mentioned any reasonable issues with those perks (not that there even would have been any issue to argue with).
While im sure popularity is A factor, its more than likely not the only factor. Resilience for example has been one of the most popular survivor perks and has never seen a change since launch.

I never said that the most used perks need a nerf or are OP. You were claiming that the most used perks were not necessarily effective, which is technically true, but Pain Res is not exactly a funsies perk, it is very effective and that is why it is the most used.
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying the most used doesn't equate to the most effective or strongest. I was also replying to someone pointing at pain res being most used and claiming pain res obviously needs an emergency nerf. If most used DID equal strongest, windows and deja vu would be the strongest survivor perks in the game.
As for your 2nd post, STBFL was widely used by killers like Pig or Demo since they could avoid losing stacks. That part got nerfed and the upcoming buff isn't changing it that.

I mean they nerfed him barely a month after release to get survivors to stop whining.
I wouldn't put it past the devs to give him special treatment and rework him.
They tweeked the numbers on afew addons and buffed him by adjusting his anti-camp measure to not work on multiple floors. He's definitely not WEAKER than he was on release.

Popularity was the most used reason by bhvr to apply nerfs. No matter if its reasonable or not.
Not quite. You have plenty of perks that might be popular on specific killers, but not by the general killer roster as a whole. That still hasn't stopped BHVR from nerfing stuff like STBFL that was only really seeing high usage from killers like Pig and Demo. BBQ on the other hand which has been amongst the most popular killer perks in general has never seen a nerf unless you count the BP part.

I still dont see this particular idea working since you tied it to used pallets. He'd have the weakest start in the game, even worse than Oni since he'd both not have his power AND be 4.4. Even after ppl toss a pallet, which is something they'll hold off on doing... You get 1 use of your power per pallet loop for the entire game? Thats going to feel TERRIBLE on alot of the main buildings where people would just loop you endlessly without relying on pallets. Garden of Joy for example would be completely unplayable for a 4.4 without a power.

Since when are killers running perks that are not effective?
They generally run perks that are reliable. That doesnt mean those perks need nerfs or are OP. You have many perks that are VERY commonly used on specific killers, but a list like this is only going to show you what's commonly seen amongst the majority of the roster. Being number 1 on this list doesnt mean its OP, just that its useful for most of the roster unlike something like STBFL.

Legions Killer Instinct notifications only activate for survivors within their Terror Radius. In Lights Out Mode, they have no Terror Radius, or Perks to grant them a temporary TR, In fact, the only thing Legion will have access to that can give them KI notifications is Susie's Mix Tape, which increases the KI Detection radius by 20m beyond their TR, without a TR however, it just gives them a small 20 m Detection range. Basically, as long as the team aren't all bunched up together against a Legion with a Susie's mix tape, they're gonna waste a hell of a lot of time frenzy stumbling around in the dark searching for a KI notification.
I don't think they're gonna be as broken as OP is thinking.
Honestly, the killer that scares me more for this mode has gotta be Unknown! Unknown is the quietest when it comes to their movement and breathing noises + They can teleport without giving everyone a global noise notification, and Weakened survivors Glow pink so they're easier to spot in the dark. Other than that there's Myers and GF who can highlight survivors in white with their Stalking powers, or certain add-ons that give them aura vision. TBH, there's a lot more killers on the roster who have more potential to "break" the mode than legion.
Thats how its SUPPOSE to be, but for some reason Legion and Doc both didn't get the memo that the lack of a TR is suppose to mean their powers are limited for lights out.

The BHVR stats are just as useless as the Nightlight stats.
Nightlight stats are KINDA more useful since you can see month to month changes. Even if you dont trust the specific values, I think there's still worth in being able to tell if a killrate has gone up or down after a buff/nerf from one month to the next.

Given that matches are about 10-20 mins, that means, assuming you played at the uneven hours where queue times were long, survivors got in double the matches in the best case. In matches as survivor I find about 75%~ of the time I'm not interacting with the killer (thats just for me, I'm sure other people have other experiences). That would mean killers are still getting in more experience given the entire match they are playing that one killer. If you play killer at times where the queues were more even (I was finding at night on the east coast queue times were a 3-4 mins around Jason's release) you would get even more experience in I think.
Either way, Mandy has said that Jason's kill rates have fallen off a bit and he was only 64.5 to begin with, so it seems people have either had time to adapt to him, or his add-on nerfs were enough to bring his power down. I assume he's in a more balanced spot now. I'm interested to see the next round of stats where he places.I generally play at night when my kid is asleep and won't need my attention midmatch and can confirm the queue time difference is kinda staggering.
Took this afew nights ago.

I don't know about that, hex jason was incredibly oppressive, counterplay or not.
By that logic, people also didn't know how to play as him yet? Yet were effective as him? I don't think we can just paint that context over it so easily. You kinda can. Early on, I was getting ATON of just normal M1 hits after a teleport. M1s are not hard in the least and I could go the whole match off JUST M1s. Now people are more on point with running as SOON as they see the animation rather than waiting for the scream. Less free M1s.

Lots of Killers have basekit tracking abilities (Doctor with his Static Shock, Nemesis with his zombies, and many other Killers have Killer Instinct abilities too). Survivors had nothing to help them track windows or pallets until now.
Those were also the handful of killers that people complained were ruining the mode. Now you have EVERY survivor with tracking while 90% of the killer roster still doesnt.

Maybe? Its a tough call though, like, survivors could cleanse a hex without breaking it by booning over it locking you out of your perk entirely which probably isn't good. With the nerfs to pentimento maybe it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Survivors could see it is in play, they know exactly where the totem is because they saw the aura of it so they know exactly where the penti is? Would be worth testing to see really, tough to say.
Wanna test it out later?

I’m not bothered about having four meta perks, but I’ve noticed that tunnelling and proxy camping is even more prevalent in this game mode and with there being no incentives to play, it just seems like a huge waste of time.
I hope Lights Out is better as I haven’t gotten to play that before either.
A large part of that is due to the killer's random setup. Just like survivors got use to THEIR loadouts, your seeing killers without their usual tracking perks to find other ppl and slowdown perks to keep gens from popping. Instead of wandering aimlessly hoping to stumble across the next chase, they go to where they KNOW there's at least 2 ppl.

So is that why 2V8 normally has between 3-5x more bloodpoints for survivor players because more people are queuing up to play killer? I assumed it was just a general modifier bonus to make it more enticing to play.
Well that’s disappointing as there’s virtually zero reason to play in the Chaos Shuffle lobbies.Yeah, the more of an imbalance there is in queues the more of a BP incentive they offer. This is with normal mode too. At times where there's a wait of 4-5 minutes for killer, youll probably see a BP incentive for survivor. I normally play at night though when wait times is under 1 minute, so there's no BP incentive then.
This is from last night.
-
@TheTWDFan said:
This is my first time experiencing the Chaos Shuffle modifier, and I expected it to be a fun kind of chaos. Not knowing which perks you'd get seemed like it could lead to some interesting combinations, and wondering whether they'd synergise well, like Inner Strength and Small Game, or completely work against each other, like No Mither and Self-Care.
Instead, it's been a pretty miserable experience.
I don't know if I just had an unusually bad run of matches before I went to make something to eat, but almost every game was filled with proxy camping and hard tunnelling. I assume that's because it's much less likely that survivors will randomly get an anti-tunnel perk.
Unless it's changed since I last played, there also wasn't a Bloodpoint bonus for playing survivor. So what's the incentive to play this modifier? Am I missing something, or is it genuinely just not a very good game mode?
Generally the BP modifiers are based off which role is short on players, so if your not seeing one... could just mean the queues are about even atm.

You don't have to believe me here, but as his mate I have the advantage of having literally played killer on his account around his house. My stats, for reference:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SA7H929HQ5KZ/image.png
And I can say, with an admittedly limited sample size, that the matches I've played on his account as substantially harder than the ones I play on mine. Be it as Freddy (with a rather high kill rate), on my main Exe (with still quite a high rate), or with my Chucky (who has a 56% kill rate LMAO), and I genuinely don't know why it is, but playing on his account felt a lot sweatier, a lot more unwinnable on lower-tiers (god bless Exe my goat), and like I was doomed to lose from map RNG.
And again, this is only anecdotal and I can only speak from my experience, but I swear his setup is cursed or something, because by all means I should be getting harder games than him, and yet games on my account are so much easier than on his.
The MMR in this game can be REALLY weird. I was looking at their posts before to check killrates/escape rates previously and got a chuckle. The post I saw claimed for overall MMR it was a 60% killrate and a 41% escape rate. High MMR had 63% killrate and a 42% escape rate.
This Is from last year. How does this even make sense? This combines to over 100%. The math ain't mathin

Cool, so your still just gonna say you want to be able to see all survivor perk loadouts in the lobby or do you have an actual point?
At no point did I say I wanted to see ANYTHING in the lobby, but if your going to suggest perk specific counterplay then there has to be a way to identify the perk in the MATCH at least. Even if I brought Ultimate weapon for example specifically to counter this perk, it doesnt help if I dont know which of the 4 survivors has it until the score screen.
Ultimately incase you forgot how this conversation started... Similar to Nurse which hypothetically could be unstoppable if the player controlling her never made a mistake and played like a machine, Hyperfocus similarly is only being kept in check by player skill with skillchecks. It COULD have drastically higher success, but player skill is the deciding factor. Ppl failing to hit greats is the only reason its not having much higher escape rates.

As mentioned previously, scream builds, gen regression, gen blocking, and builds that make skill checks harder. You don't even need to know who is running it. Like just run grim or pain res and you are already countering it. Seriously I don't get what your problem is here. If your issue seriously comes down to them not having a tell, I'll clue you in. They have toolboxes, because it's utter garbage without a toolbox.
Just had a game where it popped up with no toolbox. The entire loadout is perks that the killer has no way of identifying funny enough, although I guess 5 moves ahead can be guessed if you really pay attention to the pallet toss.

A toolbox isn't a requirement, just a stacking effect. Your saying i should do various actions which MIGHT effect someone if they're running that perk. Pain res for example MIGHT trigger on the gen they're on. The scream perk MIGHT trigger in their area. They might not even have the perk and are instead using another perk that also has no tells that requires a different counter like Overzealous. Unlike killer perks which almost ALWAYS have a tell allowing perceptive survivors to figure out the entire loadout, thats not the case for at least half of survivor perks which makes talks of countering them pretty iffy.

Oh so you'd also be fine with survivors knowing in advance what killer they are going against since they also aren't allowed to know who it is until it's too late or are you gonna gonna not say anything now that you realize how bad your argument is?
My point was I wouldn't know the perk was in play and who has it until the score screen. Im suppose to keep interrupting THAT guy, but the perk has no tell or animation that its being used.

… Huntresses Lullaby
So your counter for the perk that im not allowed to know is in play is to keep interrupting the survivor that I dont know has the perk while at the same time building stacks for Huntress lullaby in the hope it isn't cleansed. I need to do this BEFORE you get skillchecks.

Hyperfocus has the counters of scream builds, gen regression, gen blocking, and builds that make skill checks harder. There's no perk that survivors have that is an automatic win if you are just that good like killers have with nurse.
Theres no perk that a killer has that effects great skillchecks or can make them harder.

Who trusts Nightlight to be a reliable metric?
I would say that the cumbersome sumbitting system doesn't allow for a large enough sample size to be accurate enough, and since the submitting is manual, results can be cherry-picked into giving false results.
Here is an example from the official stat tracker. I am currently doing a challenge, playing a killer that I have never before played, and trying to see how well I can perform over 30 days with said killer.
As of now, I am sitting at 64%. Granted, I have not played that much, but I am still above the average (for now), with a killer that is regarded as very bugged and not particularly good.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FQ7BSLU441YQ/hm-challenge.png
Scrub, check out MY numbers, lol
All jokes aside though, the difference between an individual player and the average can be pretty staggering. If we went based off just an individual player, ANYTHING could be argued to be OP.
Here's an example that is more realistic, lol.

@esarraf said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4102743#Comment_4102743
I think that's a bad idea though. Like, let's say the devs added a perk that was hard for survivors to use but guaranteed they win and there's nothing the killers can do and if they fail the survivor dies instantly. The results would show the survivors who use it die a lot but ultimately it'd be broken since there's nothing the other side can actually do to counter it.
The devs already DO provide perks that are hard to use, provides massive benefits and has no actual counter. Hyperfocus for example has no actual counterplay the killer can do to prevent you from using it. Its 100% on your end if you get that benefit.

i hardly agree that current invocations aren't very good. It's the travel time and invoking time that sets it's weakness and that's in most lucky scenario where you are not spot by killer or disrupted. Weaving spiders suffers the same, 20s into basement, 60s invoking and boom you couldve done a gen by that time and what you get? 10 charges of remaining gens while left team in 3v1 scenario plus you will now be vulnerable target. I believe they can remove broken and the perk would still be awfull. That doesn't mean it can't get better. Being injured and broken shoul never be something you get for such a stuff. Even shoulder the burden only causes short exposed. If they remove the broken and increase aura on treacherous crows along with giving survivors calm spirit the invocations might be actually very decent, not meta but fine.
I feel like that went over your head...
Spies from the shadows is a killer perk.

Except certain killers (nurse) ignores 99% of pallets so you need something else. Or ideally just reworking nurse to be like oni where she has to work for her broken power.
The thing with THAT is everytime the release the numbers on killrates, Nurse ISNT at the top for any MMR ranking. Her position on tier lists is based off ppl's idea of potential capabilities rather than how she's actually performing, which ends up leading to killers like Pig out performing her on average. Until the numbers show that she's an unstoppable monster you cant escape from without handicapping, they arnt going to add handicapping to further lower her killrates.
