Just play normal and enjoy how survivors will complain about long lobby queues on high ranks.
Yes because the last time some ppl threatened not to play a short ways back queues weren't affected at all. I and everyone else on either side just swap to whichever side has faster queues like always. The only time there's long lobby times is early in the AM. Then I like the rest swap for faster lobbies problem solved.
Again the only people this hurts are the jerks that camp at 5 gens then go for 1 more camp after hopefully getting someone to suicide. Those idiots will depip instead of being at rank 1 where they don't belong.
I'd say they'll slow down the rank progress of killers, while keeping the fast rank ups of survivors. This will result in higher queues for survivors.
I don't know since the survivors that screw around but not get close enough will depip as well and so it equals out, the only ones this hurts are the jerks that camp and don't belong there.
Don´t just call them jerks. Remember that there is a human being on the other side. Maybe someone who played fair without camping for the last 2-3 matches, and who got gen rushed and rewarded with a "gg ez" after the match. Some people would just snap and punish the first guy they find.
It´s a viscious circle. Because survivors gen rush, because killers camp. And killers camp, because survivors gen rush. The root of the problem is, that killers don´t feel like they have the power role. They feel like the party clown for the survivors.
Devs need to address this asap. They need to give survivors additional objectives. Killer feels pressured, when it´s the survivors who should feel pressured.Sometimes i feel as killer, like i´m the monster in Evolve and 4 hunters are trying to kill me.
Shouldn´t be that way.Someone else said it best in a different thread a few days ago: Behavior should just change the title to Slightly Injured by Daylight.
I'd personally go with: National Lampoon Survivor Vacation.

Not all killers are meant to be viable .... sadlyAnd this is a problem by itself. Exposes some very weird design choices from the developers.
Yeah. It's really piss-poor. In a game like Overwatch or Heroes of the Storm, some characters being niche picks for certain types of maps with certain objectives (like in Overwatch between Payload, 2CP, or KoTH), is normal.
But doing that with killers in a 1v4 game like DBD just seems asinine. It also makes me hesitate to buy future DLCs. I mean, I'm paying more money for a new killer, but how do I trust that they are viable, and I'm not just throwing good money after bad?

That's a perfectly valid way to play . . . in a game called Deceit. You might want to go play that game, instead. It's even free.

The same can be said about killers going against survivors in red ranks. looping, Flashlights, Toxic Plays. It goes both ways not just one.Yep. I'm new to the game and have absolutely no intent of ever going into the Red Ranks. I played the whole competitive "rank" style of play in Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm. I'm here because I got done with it. That said, if a survivor t-bags me then I will absolutely give them a tour of Facecamp City. Don't like it? Then don't be a goddamn douche and t-bag. Simple as that. Be a douche and if I hook you, I will remove you from the trial.
Matter of fact, I have already done just that in the grey ranks.
I also had a Laurie in a match going out of her way to chase me and flashlight me every chance she got. Oh, you want to try to be a cool kid in the grey ranks and bully the killer because you saw it on some Red Rank stream? Cool. Let's play. I downed her, hooked her, and gave her a tour as well. I even dribbled her to prevent a chance at DS.
I'm in my mid-40s. I play to have fun. If the survivors aren't going out of their way to be a douche, I will not camp, I won't tunnel. Want to rescue them from the hook and get some bloodpoints? Go for it, unless you are dumb enough to hook-rush. I have gens to kick and others to down as well.
I had a match where I was Leatherface and got seriously outplayed. All 5 gens done, and zero hooks. I downed two of them with the chainsaw right at the opened exit doorway. The other two escaped. I could have gotten a 2k from that at the last minute. But they played well. I carried them to the barrier and let them escape. Had no issue doing so.

Using "Overwatch" and "Competitive" in the same sentence is a joke. Competitive has been busted for almost six or seven seasons now, and Blizzard has done zip to address it. It is filled with leavers, trolls, and smurfs. Even at the high ranks, you barely get voice comm coordination, and people are playing whatever they want, to hell with team comp.
You want a casual game that people tried to claim was a competitive game? Overwatch tops the list, right behind DBD.
Yea i don't play it to be honest, there are still plethoras of actual competitive games they could play.
With moris, bnps, DS, noed this game was clearly never meant to be competitive.Oh, I agreed with what you meant. I just had to chime in on the Overwatch part, was all.

Oh yea i understood that I just didn't wanna say "yeh i don't play it lul"
I have to agree with you, too. Look, I might be brand new to Dead by Daylight, but I've played Competitive modes before. Despite what I said about current Overwatch, up until about Season 5 (they are on Season 12 right now), the Competitive mode did work. It had issues, but it wasn't horrible. I also did ranked in Heroes of the Storm.
That said, I'm in my mid-40s. I can't mentally do Competitive anymore. I was always a laid-back gamer, never cared about the best gear in MMOs, or the leaderboard in raids, et cetera. I just wanted to unwind from the day with a video game.
Overwatch changed that, and I will never go back to a competitive game mode again. When or if I ever fire-up Overwatch again, it will be purely for Arcade modes and Quick Play.
I researched Dead by Daylight for a good 8 months before buying it and the DLCs. Streamers, YouTube guides, these forums, reddit, and the Dev streams (yeah, I saw the infamous "play Civ" one, too). Dead by Daylight always struck me as a casual game. I see nothing about its design that actually points to a competitive or eSport game, despite them having only a "Ranked" mode. As far as any "competitive" concept goes, sorry to a lot of people, but the ranked system here is a joke by comparison.
And that was why I decided to buy it. It's a casually designed game.
And the developers want to make it an E-sport..
Yeah, I saw that so-called tournament. Well, the developers can want to make it an eSport with all their might. I want to be a billionaire. I'd say I have a better chance at success doing that than they do making Dead by Daylight an eSport.

The problem is all the broken add ons and perks. The toolboxes are OP as hell. This 80 seconds per gen is BS at high rank when they bring in good toolboxes and hit great skill checks. I went past a gen it wasnt even started, chased someone downthere like 30 seconds later and it was 80-90% done. How the hell do you compete with that?
Or I just had a game where I was chasing a Laurie. She was pretty good, hard to catch. Caught her eventually - d-strike. Oh great, now I have to catch her again. Last gen pops oh wow, Adrenaline, so now shes back to full health.
The developers either don't play killer or don't care. This game is stupid sometimes, absolutely stupid. These are meta perks too so multiply that across 4 survivors and I question why I even bother playing the game sometimes.
What solution do they come up with? Add 4 seconds to healing. Oh wow 4 seconds. At the same time they move hooks further apart which now means all of the time can hit the 35% required for D-strike. They think we're fools.
I have to agree. I saw this issue while researching DBD and looking at all the Perks and Add-Ons at the Wiki and correlating possible combinations. They have so many goddamned moving parts at this point, and keep adding more every few months, that I don't believe they have the manpower nor expertise to actually get a basic semblance of balance into the deal.
They have more moving parts between the Perks and Add-ons, and all the possible combinations, that more experienced, bigger studios would never go this far. And for a reason.
On top of that, they make it such a bloodpoint grind for all the Teachables and meta-perks, that an Asian gamer would walk away from it at this point. Then on top of it, make everything bloodweb RNG reliant along with the grind.
Then they put the game on constant sale, but outside of double BP weekends (or double BP combined with free weekends like recently), their Steam Chart numbers remain fairly level month to month.
It's almost like the new people who bought it on sale and saw that they're not only 2+ years behind in the BP grind, but also the RNGesus worship, and will get owned by most players as of Rank 15 thanks to depiping Vets, put the game down and didn't stay. And gee, I wonder why.

Oh well, guess it'll be back to Overwatch at that point, unless Hide Or Die releases by then and isn't trash.

Failing that, I guess I have to grit my teeth and hope someone else makes a better asymmetrical horror game someday.
I'm still new at DBD, but will always be someone that hovers around the green ranks here. The main reason being that I refuse to Rank up to purple and red ranks. I did Overwatch from launch until three weeks ago, and played Competitively over there. I'm in my mid-40s and realized that I came to hate playing the game. I am too damned old to be worrying about rank and the associated toxicity in a video game.

I swear to god, Geoff Goodman was absolute ######### back when he worked on class balance in WoW years ago, and he has gotten even worse on Overwatch.

Most definitely. They know what can be leaked and what can't. Those three are the Game Lead and Department Directors. Heck, in many studios they're usually part of the group that determines what can and cannot be revealed in general.
They played it the way they did just for some low-key dramatic reaction. Something to keep the stream interesting.

Oh hell man, the other day I made a post at the Overwatch forums criticizing Blizzard on the handling of the game. I don't rant or toss insults, I always post like I do here, everywhere. I walk into the forums today and find out that I have been kicked from Trust Level 3 to Trust Level 2, which means I can no longer post links (not that I really did anyway). I check my email, and get told that I have been lowered in forum privileges for questioning Blizzard policies.
Okay. I didn't question their policies on anything, but whatever. They want to censor criticism, I get it.
I am done with Blizzard. I blocked the forum website in my browser so I'm not tempted to give them my time anymore. It's the principle behind it all. They've definitely become just like Activision, which is just like EA, and after 24 years with them, I am no longer a customer.
Instead, warts and all, Behavior gets my business. And I have many reasons why I chose them, but that's another topic.

Dedicated decoys like those two are annoying on multiple levels.
They want you to chase them, and they'll probably give you a tour of pallet town, or fit so many loops in the chase.
If you ignore them, there's no telling what other damage they could do.Yep. And I'm all about having fun in a match. I want bloodpoints as killer, and I want the survivors to earn some too. We're all here to play a game and have a good time. I have zero issue letting them rescue each other from the hook for the BP. I have other survivors to hunt and gens to kick. Not a problem.
I had one match where they seriously outplayed me. All five gens and zero hooks. I was Leatherface and managed to down two of them with the chainsaw at the opened exit gates. The other two escaped. I have only one rule as a Kiler: Don't go out your way to be an ass toward me.
-
If they ever did a casual mode with only half BP awards as some have suggested, I would uninstall this game in a heartbeat and never look back.
I have zero interest in Rank in Dead by Daylight. I spent 2+ years playing Competitively in Overwatch, and I came to hate gaming because of that. I had to finally walk away from Overwatch because of the type of gamer it made me. I'm in my mid-40's, I don't need that bullshit in my life. On the rare occasion I do login to Overwatch, I purely play Quick Play and Arcade modes now.
Give Ranked mode rewards for achieving and maintaining high ranks. But create a casual mode and gimp the bloodpoints in a game with an already insane bloodpoint and perk grind for new players, and you better hope that a majority of the playerbase is Rank-focused.
Fun tip: Many studios have said in the past two years that the Ranked/Competitive mode is the least played mode. Even in Overwatch, a game that stresses Competitive and even launched the Overwatch League to highlight it, their population disbursement goes like this, as stated by Blizzard: Arcade, Quick Play, Competitive.
I would bet if given a choice of modes, DBD would follow the same trend as other games. And you want to make the bloodpoint and perk grind even longer if a player doesn't want to deal with competitive and ranked? DBD will end up like the Deathgarden population.

So I go just got use to scanning the area. For survivors not use to following Scratch marks. So I'm not great at following trails. I'll get better.
Same. I was in Overwatch since launch and just left it around three weeks ago. Decided to join DBD. In Overwatch, everything was down to mental and physical reflexes. I could jump from Soldier 76 to Junkrat to Pharah in a match and not have an issue. I knew all the maps and their routes, all the hero kits and cooldowns and could anticipate enemy Ult charges, and so forth.
Come over here, and I miss swipes and lunges, don't know the maps, and have a ton of trouble following scratch marks.
I got frustrated and almost put the game down. Until I reminded myself that I am starting over in a new game. I need time to learn it all and develop DBD muscle memory. The fact that I have less video game time nowadays than I did two years ago when I first started Overwatch (and I was limited then, just a lot more so now), means it'll take me longer to get used to DBD. Just something I am going to have to accept.

@Aftertaste If you go to the character information screen in game, (F1 on PC) you'll see that every Survivor and Killer has a story to them that is there. That is the lore. There is also lore surrounding The Entity and the journal of Benedict.
Another place to find the lore is here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Dead_by_Daylight_Wiki
On Thursday, they will be answering some playerbase questions we have about the lore, things we suspect but don't know yet about The Entity or a certain character, and so forth.
Obviously, some questions they won't answer if they prefer to keep the mystery to them at this point in time.
-
@TheMidnightRidr , I came from Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm. Toxicity is everywhere. I don't let the little kiddies bother me. I'm too damned old for that.
No other game lets me run around as Myers, Freddy, or Leatherface and hunt people. The three Icons I grew-up on as a kid. That's why I like DBD.
Rank! People say. Nah, I don't care about Rank. I cared about rank in Overwatch and came to hate logging into it anymore. DBD is all about having some Slasher Movie Killer Icon fun. Nothing more.

-
@MegMain98 Yeah, Leatherface needs a little work. Like I said, removing the slowdown while charging the chainsaw would be a good first step. Then see from there.
Obviously, I don't have a lot of Perks yet. So, when I go up against more experienced and bloodweb opened Survivors in the grey ranks, due to them having time in as Killer and having the Perks and knowledge, it's a bit asinine. It's like the system has smurfing baked into it (see my post-reply a little above to GrannyOnAcid for an example of what I've faced).
As Freddy, I absolutely have to get as many into the Dream World as possible and slug the living hell out of them before going for hooks. It's just way too damned easy to wake-up, otherwise. I can see why he's rarely viable at higher ranks.
Nurse. Screw nurse. I absolutely hate teleport-blinking characters. I could never master Tracer in Overwatch or Evie in Paladins for the same reason. That movement ability and me do not mix, and never will. I've learned that.

As far as game knowledge, yeah, I've spent time studying the game from YouTube videos, watching Streamers, and networking with them for tips and whatnot before ever getting into playing it steadily. I understand the game and its ins-and-outs. I won't fall for a loop, and know when to break away from it. I've already nailed Survivors by mind gaming them so they pallet vault right into my lunge. I know about the vault-feints to bait my lunge. And so forth. It's just a matter of taking that knowledge and applying it mechanically, which should come over time. The game is a lot less twitch-reflex based than Overwatch, and I got good at that game over time. So, hopefully the same happens here.
But for some reason, maybe my eyes, I have a very hard time seeing and following the scratch marks.
@TheLegendDyl4n1 , my adult daughter left Overwatch over Mercy. She was a Mercy main for our team, and very good with her. And never did the hide-and-rez crap. When they screwed Mercy over, she left and has never looked back. All they needed to do was make Rez LoS limited and remove invulnerability. This happened because pro-teams hated her with a passion, and the OWL was launching. So, she got gutted. And even that hasn't worked out well. Last time I saw, her pick and winrates were still high.
I logged into Overwatch last night. Faced a couple of smurfs that got me at first because I underestimated their level 32 and level 50 skill level (I am in the 640s). I could have easily beaten them once I figured it out, but barely tried. I realized I'm just burned out after being there since launch, and took the loss and BS tactics with a shrug. It was Quick Play, anyway. Whether or not DBD keeps me, I still need a bit of a break from OW.

@GrannyonAcid The entire system is screwed over in a bad way. I'm new to DBD, but not new to gaming. I've been doing it since I was a kid, and online gaming since the 1990s (I'm almost 46). I also know how to study a game via YouTube and Twitch nowadays.
Let's give an example. I am a Rank 20 killer with 24 hours in the game. A few nights ago, I face a team of Survivors. Two of them, yes, half the team, had bloody clothing. After the match, I asked them about it. They have been in the game for well over a year, and mained Killer. They just now flipped to Survivor after building them up to 50 via the bloodweb, and Prestiging at least one of them. So, although they were a Rank 19 and 18 Survivor as far as the system was concerned, they were actually Red Rank players with that amount of game knowledge and experience.
Needless to say, it was a zero-kill match and gen-rushing.
The entire system needs a rework. Either remove the separate Ranks and just make it a single Rank, or make it so that a KIller can only spend bloodpoints into the Killer characters, and Survivors into the Survivor characters. You can place them into any character you wish, but only for the side you played while earning them. Track bloodpoints separately just like Rank.
Because having a highly experienced Red Rank killer player, flipping to Survivor and being grey rank, is completely asinine. Never mind an experienced player flipping sides to the grey ranks and having the bloodwebs opened to the point that they are doing mid to high Rank loadouts at Rank 19.
In a bad way, the system has inherent smurfing. Good gods, I left Overwatch because I got sick and tired of all the goddamned smurfs. So what did I do? I picked a game that has the ######### baked into it. Sigh.
This system is so frustrating, that I am actually considering shelving the game, despite absolutely loving the concept. It's a serious mental debate right now. I'm all for learning a game and getting good. Been there, done that. But this is some early 2000s design crap, and that era is gone for a reason.
Then again, I can't think of a PvP game that doesn't have a smurfing issue at this point.

@MegMain98 In my opinion, it's because like the OP said: We have a hell of a lot more to keep track of as a Survivor. I mean, I come from Overwatch and a little Paladins. I've also played Heroes of the Storm a bit. And playing Survivor is just a lot of mental gymnastics. More so than when I play those games and have to coordinate with four or five other players against five or six other players, watch map routes, calculate Ult charge (OW), et cetera.
Off topic a little: Last night I'm playing Bubba. Now, keep in mind, I am Rank 20 with like 24 hours in the game. But, as I did for Overwatch, I have watched a ton of guides, info-videos, and Streamers to learn DBD. So, A Laurie wants to Flashlight me every chance she gets. She runs to the combine (this was the cornfield map), and stays on top that hay-bail where they obviously knew I could not swipe or lunge them. Apparently, she didn't know I could chainsaw her there (I did, I saw the Billy guide that showed it, and figured Bubba could too). So, I down her.
Before I can leave, my chase music plays. I spin and there is a Jake. He's also got a Twitch name (I looked him up after the match and he is ultra-small). So, now he's on the hay-bail. He points at me, tbags at me, then tries to heal her. I down him, too.
I can't pick them up from the bail, so I climb the combine to see if I can step onto the bail to do so. As I'm doing that, they crawl down the combine. I hook them both. At this stage, between the constant flashlighting and his tbagging, they've pissed ol' Bubba off. So, I patrol the two hooks with the reving chainsaw until they are dead.
They DC just as the Entity is in the final Sacrifice animation. I laughed so hard.
The other two have three gens left to do. I find one, slug them, find the other, hook him, go back and hook the first.
The salt was real in after match chat. I laughed.
Another match, I couldn't do crap. The gens got done and the doors open with no hooks. I downed two at the open exit gates with the chainsaw, and the other two escaped. I picked them up and carried them to the barrier. What the hell, they outplayed me all Trial, they can live.
But even being a new player, I can see the severe lack of map-pressure Leatherface has. I might just give Billy a shot, instead. If Leatherface didn't slow down when charging the chainsaw, it would make a huge difference for him.

@MegMain98 I'm new to the game with under 30 hours played so far, and I agree with him. I'm much more relaxed as Killer. Patrol gens, seek the hiders, chase but don't fall for a long loop, whack people.
As a Survivor, I experience same as he said. I walk out of a Survivor game tense and with a minor headache.
Then again, coming from Overwatch and Paladins, I absolutely loathe the Killer movement controls, even with my mouse sensitively changed both in-game and through Razer (I spent several hours messing around with them to get them as right as I could). There is just something about it that feels off, and turning to hit someone is a pain in the ass to get right. Same for strafe movement. And I loathe that my four opponents have both smaller hitboxes for tighter turns around objects, as well as a third-person camera spin option to see around walls and crap.
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure I'm sticking with the game.

@Global Very sweet. Congrats on the achievement!
-
@Mister_xD , No worries. A few posts ago, I tagged a mod and asked for them to close this. Guess they don't want to.
What happened was, I could not get lobbies. I went onto my 8-year-old's Steam and DBD account on another computer and tested his Rank 20 Killer. Lobbies popped within 4 minutes.
So, I did a fresh install of DBD on my computer, and since then I have gotten Rank 20 Killer lobbies consistently between 1-4 minutes. So, it seems that I might have actually been bugged or corrupted. So, I've been able to play just fine since then.
The ######### grind just to get bloodpoints to one day get a viable build is another matter, but every game has its flaws.

@NextKillerSpongebob Oh, I might be new to the game itself, but I followed and researched it a bit for about a year. I know the changes they made, knew all about tunneling, looping, facecamping, et cetera before ever buying, and all that jazz.I also fully understand why people derank in this game.
What I can't understand is how, two years after launch and in this market, Behavior still doesn't have an un-ranked mode in the game. I can only assume because un-ranked would have to work on an MMR, even a hidden one. And I'm doubting they really have one in place that's worth talking about, considering how in a SWF, the match is based on the lowest ranked member instead of an average rank of all four survivors (even if some in the match are solo).
It just appears like they went the path of least resistance on matchmaking, and I don't know if that was due to finances, lack of experience, or both.
Unranked would suck. You would have the chance to get a killer that is rank 1 in ranked mode and he could get matches with actual rank 20 survivors. That system would simply suck.
Not if Behavior actually used a hidden MMR system for match-making. Which, obvious they do not, or we wouldn't have SWF simply using the lowest Rank in the group to determine match-rank.
But that means that Behavior would have to actually code a workable MMR system, and I doubt they could. I'm sorry, but unranked works in Overwatch, HoTS, and other games. Is it perfect and error free in match-making? Absolutely not. But it would not be as bad as you say, unless that Rank 1 was simply boosted to Rank 1 and actually has very little skill, and thus a low MMR. In which case, it isn't as horrifyingly unbalanced as you might think to face the Rank 20.
As an example, in Overwatch Quick Play I have sometimes absolutely stomped enemy players whose profiles have them as three Competitive Ranks over me. Now, that's not the same as a three-rank difference here. A three-rank difference in Overwatch should be a very large difference in skill level. And I should not have stomped them. Honestly, they should have stomped me.
But their Competitive Rank is determined by SR, a separate system. In Unranked, it's their MMR. Which would indicate that their Comp rank was boosted, as their actual MMR was much lower and they were actually less skilled than I was.

I'm new, so don't know a lot of the killers just yet, but of the originals that I've played and liked, I'm going to go for the Huntress, Wraith, and Doctor skins.

@PhantomMask20763 I don't want this thread locked because we somehow managed to derail it, so have taken the Overwatch talk to your Wall.
-
@PhantomMask20763 Slasher, I think, was the hockey mask image on the achievement visual leak. If it is, and that is 76, it's mine. He's one of my main DPS guys.
I'm sure I will be back in Overwatch eventually, though I won't drop DBD unless the community becomes too small for decent lobby times. And Overwatch is a Blizzard game, so it'll never die. But for the time being, I need to fix my own head about that game and just get used to playing relaxed and for fun again.
In DBD, I can do that. I don't care if I die, or if all four escape. I just want some BP, and on to the next Trial. I just want to sometimes run around hitting people as Myers, Freddy, or Leatherface, or be a killer Clown.
That said, though, I can see this game getting repetitive faster than I would probably like. Though I hope I am wrong about that. At least in Overwatch there are all the arcade modes to shake it up a bit, and always custom games.
I've also discovered that I can't play DBD if tired. The mind games needed in a trial, alone, drain me after a while. Starting tired doesn't work out well, bloodpoints wise. I write for a living, so my days are mentally active to begin with. Sometimes, a bit brain-frying, too, depending on the book or the scenes. Then coming into DBD with the required mental gymnastics doesn't always work out. That's when Overwatch is most tempting. I've played that game since launch day. At this point, it's all muscle memory and reflex, even knowing which map route a particular enemy Hero is likely to take.
Anyway, back on topic, I'm definitely interested in the Huntress and Wraith Blight skins!

@PhantomMask20763 Really? Didn't know Hammond was getting one. My 8-year-old will be pleased. He likes DBD, but Overwatch is his main game. He has a ton of other kids on his friends list and they all play custom games together.
-
@PhantomMask20763 I logged into Overwatch the other night just to test myself again. By match #5, I had to leave. And I even avoided Competitive.
Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the game, itself. Not Brigitte, not any of it. I have an issue with how toxic I became in it over the course of two years. I'm usually a laid back, casual gamer. I'm too old to get toxic over a video game. But somehow, over time, Overwatch brought that out in me.
Why? I don't know. HoTS didn't. Paladins didn't. DBD doesn't.
I had to walk away from it. I forgot how to play a video game for fun.
I'm popping in tomorrow to see what skins are there. I have like 30k coins saved up. If any of the 3k ones really grab me, I'll get them. If I'm on the fence for them, I'll wait until they're 1k next year. I hear rumor that someone is getting a hockey mask ala Jason. If so, that is a definite purchase.
-
@redsopine1 Whether or not this is still true I do not know, but my understanding from various developers with cross-platform games is that it has to do with not only how Sony and Microsoft handle allowing patching on their platforms, but also possible fees for patching that studios must pay.
I know, at least, that Blizzard has cited those reasons, especially the first one, as to why Overwatch on console does not have a Test Server. Plus, I know that DC Universe Online only has a PC Test Server and cited that reason, and Daybreak Games was even under Sony at one time as SOE.
-
@KillJiggy Thanks for the info. Looking forward to it.
Then again, I realized I was likely talking out of my butt, too. Let's see: play Overwatch and subject myself to why I left in the first place, or stay with DBD and learn it, and also do some nighttime SWF with SteamDad_ in his nightly open lobby?
DBD wins.

Being a brand new player, I'm looking into how the event is supposed to play out. If it's too much of a PITA for new players, then I might just hop back into Overwatch for the season and get my skins over there.Haha they normally give a very generous amount of time to get the skins
Which game? I know Overwatch does. That event starts tomorrow (along with the Torb rework, many assume) and goes until Halloween. Plus, I have around 30k coins over there anyway, so could just buy any skins I want.
I really have no intention of going back to Overwatch at this point in my life (except maybe to pop in tomorrow and buy the Hockey-Mask killer skin if the rumors are true), but I want to see info on this Blight Event. If it's not new player friendly, or means a lot of people are going to be farming it and making learning the basics of trials more difficult (I only have 22 hours in the game so far), then I'll just step out from the 19th until it ends.
-
@Wolf74 I hear you, I really do. I'm a brand new player. Just over 20 hours in the game. I preferred Killer, and although it has not been a constant thing, I've already faced SWF groups (2, 3 and 4) that in some cases had Red or Purple ranked players grouped with the little gray Ranks.
Yeah, that's great. And it doesn't teach me anything about being a better Killer going up against those experienced players when I'm still trying to learn even the goddamn basics of the game.
At this point, since I'm just starting out and have seen it already, I don't know if I want to just put the game down and play it as a side thing, just say to hell with it and go Survivor and SWF myself with people via Steam/Discord, or what.

@Thetruth Like I said, I can't speak for console populations since they don't affect my play. Only numbers that can affect my play and lobbies are those on the Steam Charts.
@DeadByFlashlight Completely agree. There was another thread in the past couple of days by someone who just hit Rank 1 and admitted they still have no idea what they're doing as survivor. They just played, managed to do enough to Pip in trials, and got to Rank 1.
Being casual, if they don't do something, I'll eventually hit Rank 1. Well, I won't, because I don't want to. By around Rank 15-10 or so, I plan to do just enough to hover there. I just want to play and have fun. I know there are Rank 1 Steam Achievements and all. I just don't care about them.
