If there is any a time when you are against Pinhead and you forget about the box, then it was you that made the mistake not Pinhead. It's so easy to track the box, you literally have a timer on your portrait AND the box changes to yellow when it's 50% to a chain hunt.

This Killer is so easy to counter it's disturbing they made it out of the PTB

I’ve been in chaotic games where all four of us took turns trying to stay on top of the box, and it didn’t always work out In our favor. You have someone in chase, someone slugged, a gen 80% done but regressing because of ruin, everyone’s injured with sloppy, someone is too far to know where the box is (azarov’s resting place/suffocation pit the worst). etc. etc. There’s different scenarios but the killer created that chaotic environment. It’s probably SWF (like everything else in this game) using comms to be efficient. Solo que is no guaranteed cake walk vs. Pinhead.

I wish those who say he comes up short in certain areas could literally sit down next to the Pinheads I go against, cause a lot of them know what they’re doing and play just fine.

  • Yes, i have been saying for the longest killers should get bonus BP based on the size of the SWF. At the very least give them something for their headaches. Also I agree- show who was SWF post game.

  • Apply more pressure to survivors if you do not want to break your current chase for the teleport. I noticed the good Pinheads has everyone multitasking so that there are times we accidentally neglect/forget about the box. It’s not every time mind you, but every so often when survivors cant get to it, the chain hunt becomes a real pain and gives Pinhead momentum.

The camping hag that trapped your item already made your build to last useless. 😉

True! Oh if I know lol- if it’s hag that item is gone. 🤣

  • SBMM at it’s finest…

  • By being completely useless perk wise- maybe you’ll get a good chuckle out of them when you tell them you have the new meta, post game. Just something different to troll after you’ve exhausted all meme builds in game. Save this one for last.

  • Damn, you almost had a 100…replace “We’ll Make It” with Second Wind, Poised, or Resurgence. 😆

  • Smh. Very interesting. I personally can’t tell.

I did have one game a few days ago where I had high ping, and I NEVER have high ping since they introduced dedicated servers. I wonder if I was placed in a different region for that match?

Typically if someone wants to be moried in their username, I'll happily oblidge them.

I just usually won't tell them I'm bringing Devour instead of an actual mori offering.

    Devious.

  • You guys really shouldn’t let people in chat bother you. Just turn it off for your peace of mind.

  • Are most of you guys who think he’s bad Killer mains? Maybe it’s the caliber of survivors you are going against? Because from my perspective he’s very deadly. I’ve only ran into TWO bad Pindheads since launch. Everyone else was good. Win or lose. They knew what they were doing with him. He also makes a lot of survivors ragequit. Between the Oblivious status effects and the chains, they get frustrated. The chains are good as is. They are no joke. Someone HAS to get to the box before the chain hunt begins, or everyone will be in serious trouble. The chains wont even let you solve the box in time. A good Pinhead will take advantage of this- down, hook, and teleport over.

These complaints about his chains remind me of the complaints about Nemesis’ zombies. Both are actually pretty good, but you as the killer don’t always see the value, because usually you’re in chase with only 1 survivor. Far from you- both are a hindrance to those trying to heal, work on totems or gens. Things would get done even FASTER without either (yes I know things still get done pretty fast).

From what I observed, the really good pinheads put pressure on all the survivors so that they are forced to neglect the box. Whenever I’m running around trying to multitask against him, I realize at the last second we are about to enter a chain hunt and now we are screwed. Hex totems, injured teammates with sloppy, ruin, being oblivious and more all cause chaos and can cause you to forget you now have a new mechanic to contend with.

  • Smh. I suspected as much…

@MandyTalk I created a thread feedback regarding SBMM and tagged you in it. This is the kind of stuff I was referring to. I beg of you- please address with Devs. This is outrageous- especially for those of us who spend so much money on the game through DLC’s and cosmetics.

  • Yea, OP- I agree…MMR is trash. My last five games in a row I had someone Ragequit early every single time. I just got out of the fifth game five mins ago. I had a lot of ragequitters in the previous days as well. (Is the DC penalty off?) I keep getting screwed over by this trash system. The old ranking system wasn’t perfect, but it was better than this. I don’t play like the teammates I’m getting. I don’t ragequit, I don’t suicide on hook, I don’t farm, I do not run the killer around the player on hook, I do gens, I do totems, I do safe unhooks, I heal teammates but yet I get the COMPLETE opposite of how I play- for support. And then to top it all off, all the killers we face are actually good. ######### is this?? I’m not having fun. This is ridiculous. I paid over $200 for all the DLC (except this one) and a ton of cosmetics. I’m seriously thinking about quitting soon. I don’t think MMR is going away. I am livid. I’m trying my best to try and remain calm, and to work with the system- hoping at some point I will adjust. I’m finding it very difficult because again, I’m not having fun. I’m not making another purchase until I feel like I can consistently have fun as before.

Well some people don't play killer at all. We know this. So I would assume there would be an equal amount of people who just want to try playing against him.

And then you have people who don’t play survivor at all, so I guess it balances it out….

If I win a couple on survivor, I seem to get default clothing 50 hr teammates the next game. Seems to be SBMM's way of making sure we lose 50% of our matches. It's a really irritating and contrived way to do it, if it's true. If the game is so unbalanced at the high end where great survivors rarely lose...make changes. Don't pair vets with complete noobs to look good on a spreadsheet like some middle management bot.

Well said. I think you may be on to something as well. Whenever I start winning with like-minded players, all of a sudden i start getting dumped with scaredy cat noobs doing the dumbest #########. Going against Pinhead with these scrubs is the absolute WORST. They’re too scared to do gens- do you really think they would go for the box and try to prevent a chain hunt?? Hell no.

    @Marigoria said:

I don't think it's a matter of "great survivors never lose".

And I dont think the game is putting you with people with 50 hours on purpose. It simply is just not working as good as it was on the last test.

There’s a portion of us who did not have a good experience on the last test….or the ones before. What you are experiencing now, is what I went through during the last PTB. Something is not right. I don’t like this. Very frustrating. I even screen shotted (3 times) and sent a buddy of mine the post game with me being at the top against a IRI grade I killer, with teammates who were a mix of Ash, Silver, & Gold IV’s & III’s. Only me and the killer were IRI (I’m III). Back to back to back. I’m getting ready to quit. I don’t understand why the killer is not the same level as them. I can’t be expected to carry a bunch of scrubs against killers that were once Rank 1’s & 2’s. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am not having fun. To top it all off, if I don’t do a map offering- the game keeps spamming Hawkins, The Game, Suffocation Pit, & Shelter Woods!! ######### is going on?? How many maps this game has and I keep going to these maps that favor the killer. What’s up with the map Algorithm???

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The best thing to do against any camping killer is just to try blitz as many gens as possible.

I always feel bad for the one on the hook but if every other survivor did separate gens & the hooked stuck it out as a team player (sucks for them I know) the more killers are punished.

Some killers will carry on camping regardless but a lot do it because they know they'll be rewarded with more easy downs & kills with little to no effort.

THIS. We have to stop feeding campers. It doesn’t matter who they use. The 3 should try to do as much gens as possible while the player on the hook Martyrs. Eventually the killer will camp a second on the hook, but hopefully by that time the last gen will get done and exit gate 99’ed. Then the other two can go for save and three can escape. Trust me, campers will feel bad losing when only getting one hook. Their egos will destroy them. If the majority of the community was on the same page, then these type of players will either quit playing or be forced to hunt for their kills moving forward.

  • @tester said:

If it's truly SBMM and all people should have similar skill, why do I see this pattern in almost every game?

Those silver and gold supposed to be same skill as iri, right? Or so we led to believe. Then why are they always play like potatoes? I don't tunnel and don't camp, but those low "grades" almost always get low BP, they almost always have low awareness and low looping skills.

Ohhh, don't get me wrong, I absolutely have fun as killer in those games... But I was on receiving end in same situation and it's 0 (zero) fun. Low grades sit on gens and get hooked in 10 seconds. High grades demoralized by observing their teammates and have to lose match because when potato is out early, there is little chance. So this becomes a game with predetermined outcome. There is no tension for me as a killer, because I know as soon as I'm down to 2 gens, I'll just go for potatos and leave the rest no chance and if potatos are not doing gens, than I farm some points with good loopers. The same pattern continued since SBMM came out. The only matches that are different are those against SWF.

Solution: stop balancing by averaging skills. This makes solo queue miserable.

No, these are not swf. I checked friend lists in Steam before selecting this match as example.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3HIRL1QA5TDD/grades.jpg

THANK YOU!!!! SOMEONE GETS IT!!! SBMM IS FRUSTRATING!!

  • I feel like survivors can’t ignore the box. The chains are very active and pull ppl off objectives constantly, and hurts the person in chase significantly.

  • @justalilbit123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/278627/getting-past-low-mmrs-as-survivor

It's impossible and a product of bad design. Due to BHVR refusing to show MMR in game, I suspect they are using a very awful system that forces good players to play with bad ones. Here's an example.

Killer is "5000" MMR. Survivor 1 is "6000" MMR. Now the matchmaking system needs to make adjustments, as the first survivor is already "too high" an MMR to be matched with the killer. So to compensate, it will add in a bunch of lower MMR players into the match, let's say "3000" MMR. So basically, because this is an asymmetrical game and this system is a horrible idea to use, if you are the 6K survivor you will likely realize that your team mates are all much, much worse than not only you, but also as the killer, because the system tried to balance you being in the game by adding weak players.

I think it’s this as well. Pinhead is not helping the situation either, because he has a mechanic that pulls you off of objectives, your noobish teammates ALWAYS ignore this objective, and if you try to do it yourself he just teleports to you. It doesn’t matter if you’re in a good spot and try to time it just “right,” you’re taking too much aggro.

  • Yea man, he has a lot of potential. I read that he doesn’t do well with SWF- but he’s destroying solo que right now. Players need to stay in the game so they know how to play against him. The chains piss me off too, but I’m not ragequitting.

  • Yea I asked this in another thread and didn’t get a response. This is very frustrating. At the very least, progress shouldn’t reset. That’s dumb.

  • The REAL problem is SWF. I keep saying it- ruins Asymmetrical games. Look what happened to RE Resistance. Yea that was a cash grab, but if the numbers stayed up, Capcom would’ve kept supporting it. Killers got tired of the B.S and solo players got tired of getting stomped. F13 was on its way down before the lawsuit. Jason players were constantly harassed by Jason Kill Squads and solo players were tired of them not doing objectives.

SWF ruins the experience for everyone but themselves.

  • I wouldn’t like that. I don’t find being killer fun- especially losing.

  • He’s making people ragequit in my matches, so I find this funny.

  • @Pikachaouuu said:

For what i have heard there is quite some long time for qeue up as a killer, so maybe for that reasson you have been facing some newbie killers.

On the survivors case maybe there wasn't a lot of other survivors with a similar mmr to you doing solo qeue so they have to fill up with low mmr people.

I'm not defending the system, just trying to think in a possible reason for what happened to you.

Good point. Earlier in the day I actually had decent teammates and killers. This afternoon was a shitshow unfortunately. Too many players DC’ing early because they were downed first, screwing me over. Had they stayed in the game, we would have all escaped. Every single time. Us 3 solo que survivors got 4 1/2 gens done against competent killers. That says a lot. I had to turn the game off because I assumed kids were home from school and hopping on. For the first time ever, I lobby dodged and did it like 7 times in a row. I have never seen so many bad usernames and OLD ASS COSMETICS in such a long time. Like year two cosmetics in every lobby. No Tome or paid cosmetics. Usernames with “Boy” & “kid” in them. Huge red flag. I noped dafuq outta there.

  • Sometimes you get so caught up multitasking in a match, and you forget about the box. Once a chain hunt is activated, does any one have advice on how to solve without being interrupted by the chains? I think it’s stupid that the progress resets every time, since a chain grabs you every two seconds and you can’t solve and dodge. Very frustrating.

Agreed. It happens a lot to me, too. I'm wondering if that was an intentional mechanic put in by the devs to aid to the Killer, or if it truly is just random.

Feels like it’s intentional. I started playing right after Legion dropped and it was never this bad. Curious to hear from Day 1 players for confirmation, or to let me know if I’m mistaken. Years ago if that happened, it was rare. Maybe you get that 1 or 2 a day, if you were not careful. Now, it feels like a 40% chance it’ll happen if you don’t wait for a skill check first. Last year if you got off abruptly while moving your character, it would get triggered I used to circumvent it by making sure my joystick was in neutral before I let go of the button. Worked 99% of the time. Now, I can’t even do that any more. Also, it feels like if you let go in the killer’s terror radius your chances of blowing the gen increase even more. Absurd.

I always wanted to create a thread, calling this suspect ######### out- but never got around to it.

  • I like them. I appreciate the little changes here and there.

You are on some mass copium for this company. They haven't even fixed the previous chapter's map so why would they fix the voice of the new killer when they can just copy and paste grunts from other killers and be done with it.

bHvr are known to not fix anything fast and take a year to do anything or improve the game. Moris for example, the community hated them and it took forever for the devs to change it.

Devs don't listen and as long as you buy the new 'GamePlay Expo Collection' they won't bother fixing anything when they rake in money for pointless Legendary skin sets that don't need to be sets and normal skin lines which people eat up.

I hope you have a great day!

Sigh. When I said “fix him,” I was referring to the disconnects.

‘I’ve been in a lot of matches today and yesterday where Pinhead was doing very good against Grade 2 & 1 survivors. That’s why I was just trying to help by giving some positive reinforcement but nvm. 😑

  • They’re going to fix him.

Play against him and you’ll see his potential. Max out his perks- they’re pretty good. Give yourself time to learn him.

Lol…maybe they can tolerate 1 because of que times if turned off. But once they see 2 or 3 console players they rather leave. Who knows…

He feels worse than Freddy to me. You have to stop doing gens or else you can't do gens. He gets to know your location for free and teleports to you, and he can shut down loops entirely by pressing a button. Exhaustion perks and pallets are irrelevant because you have to avoid the player and the hooks that immobilize you.

But I'm glad they devs made another chapter solely for killers that ruins the game for solo survivors. Honestly, this could be the last straw that makes me delete the game entirely. It's just not fun to play as a solo survivor anymore.

Oh no, that’s tomorrow when they turn on that gawd awful SMBB. You’ll get to vs. him now with terrible teammates on a consistent basis.

One of the Meg's at least gave me some company by standing next to me on the second hook stage ~ so that was nice... /s

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpJRDU8oWog

    That was painful.

    Hmmmm…

  • 2 things:

    1) I dislike how this game has one button to do 20 different actions. Some of which, can overlap with each other (like what happened to you here, or a gen/locker near a window. MnK have tons of options and there are two buttons on controllers that are not used on console. Oh- and the d-pad’s left & right.

    2) I wonder if you weren’t already on top of it when the DC occurred, if it would have allowed you to enter with the correct button prompt afterwards? That shouldn’t matter though, just goes back to what I was saying above.

  • Oh boy- you’re in for a real treat tomorrow…

  • Exactly. I hate teammates who are “ambulance chasers.” They follow me and the killer all over the map, only to fail at trying to get a flashlight save. Bonus points when their stupid ass gets downed from full health.

You could have been doing a gen, you f’n Ayrun wannabe.

  • Sorry you get that. I rarely run into her, but when I do- they typically don’t do that. I’m a Rank 4. I actually give them props for not doing it. Last two times I accidentally ran into her and she straight up ignored me, looking for whoever unhooked me. Now if a considerable amount of time has passed and you run into her with a trap still on your head, you’re fair game. Especially if she already chased a healthy survivor and downed them in the interim. She’s is not obligated to ignore or let you go at that point. Well, that’s my opinion any way.

Then there is like 20% chance of just "gg" or nothing rly important there. Then like 25% chance of no one saying anything and then there is that big 50% that will usualy be something toxic no metter if you played nice and fair or not. But thank you for the tip.

I like your idea better. I think you should do that. Turn it off. Plus it’ll prob get worse this week with SBMM.
