Unfortunately I didn't play much while DS were active (I was busy being addicted to OW and SoD2), but I had a good, not great, but good experience with DS.

THAT'S CRAZY- DBD, OW, & SOD2 (in order) ARE MY BIG 3 GAMES IN ROTATION RIGHT NOW!

Then you had people like me who ran over those princesses and white knights

    🤣

The few days with dedicated servers were unplayable for me as killer and survivor.

    Damn sorry to hear.

Yes I’m the one who campaigned all over the forum to get it gone. Myself and other Australian brothers were killed with its release. And then I started a couple campaigns and spammed peanut. Queen responded though and confirmed it was a bug.

    Really?? Wow..

On every other game I play (Apex legends, ping, destiny 2, Roblox, Minecraft, borderlands, etc) I experienced no lag and a ping constantly below 30. On dbd, I always experienced 300 no matter what with dedicated.

    @[Deleted User] said:

I had some games where I was under 60 Ping and everything was good, then some games (majority) where I was close to 200 and while it was playable, there was teleporting survivors and actions required a bit more thought to perform since there was always a delay, couldn’t quickly charge a Plague vomit without it cancelling for example.

On xbox i played about 50 games with dedicated servers and about 46 of those games stayed at 197ms ,at that point the games are pretty bad as you could of guessed. the other 4 games i had 64ms which was bliss but honestly they needed to go, i stopped playing due to those insane ping games/servers. like i dont pay the price i do for my wifi just to have ######### connection games anyway lol

Hmmmm...interesting. I guess them pulling the servers were legit. Thanks for the feedback, guys.

From my experience, SWF are a problem. Communication is a HUGE advantage, even for a middle-of-the-road squad. It's what makes or breaks a match. They could do a bunch of things wrong, but as long as they are telling each other who is going for the save and who should stay on gens, they have a good chance of ending the match and escaping quicker than your typical solo que lobby. A big problem with solo que is 3 randoms going for the save. As a killer I love to see that. As the survivor on hook, it's cringy. Now what about the toxic SWF who are competitive and take things too seriously? Those guys will enter Kill with Friends aka The Lab, and test out different tech. The will dissect the game mechanics in and out, and return to bully killers at optimal performance. I imagine most killer mains don't have that luxury of going to "the lab." I imagine most killer mains are solo and don't have others to play with, otherwise they wouldn't be killer mains lol. Now I'm not knocking SWF players being able to "practice," but it gives them an advantage & makes them much more formidable. Killers mostly have trial and error, experience, this forum, and Youtube videos to rely on. SWF has all of the above and then some.

Not a killer main, but when I do play as killer to get my extra BP, do my daily rituals, and work on the Rift- playing against SWF and Solo que are like playing two different versions of DBD. One is fun and exciting, the other is usually infuriating and frustrating. Can you guess which is which?

Now you are not always guaranteed 4K or even 3K for solo que, but when the survivors do escape- you can still say: "Damn they got away, but I still had fun. Well played, they deserved it." SWF is more like: "I hate this F'n game. That was some B.S. I quit. I am not playing killer any more."

When I get thrashed as killer, I usually suspect SWF (especially if they tea bag lol and only one person comes to save hook EVERY time) so I will look up the survivors' friends list, and sure enough- it feels like 8 times out of 10, they are on each other's friends list.

I say divide the player base and give killers incentives to host SWF like extra BP, unique charms not found in the Rift, or clothing. That way when your typical SWFs send toxic messages to the Killer, the Killer can simply reply: "Thanks for the extra BP, you ungrateful b*ast*rds- and you wonder why you have to wait 10 mins for the next killer to put up with your sh*t. 😛

  • YES. And don't forget my personal favorite- Self entitled Princesses and their White Knights who give them any pocket knife they find, and sacrifice themselves to Jason so she can live. And if all else fails, she rage quits. Good times.

  • Well look on the bright side, at least it was worth the extra Bloodpoints for hosting all of those SWF lobbies. Take a break and host some solo que lobbies- less BP, but at least your chances of getting 4K are much higher and you will still have fun even if you get 2K.

Wait- what's that you say? SWF extra BP lobbies are not a THING?? Well I'll be damned...they sure as hell should be for all the frustration killers go through.

Is Dbd still on Xbox? I never see anyone mention it.

Yup. It's alive and kicking. Sanctuary for all us former F13 players seeking refuge from the cesspool of kids over there.

Dedicated servers seemed inconsistent, some days it was great others it was complete garbage, rather they stay away until the devs fix them, which'll probably take them another 9 months

Oof. Hope not. My experience was decent for what little time we had to experience it.

  • What happened to you, happened to me TWICE last night- back to back. The first match I didn't notice two survivors brought in a key, and the second match one of the survivors found a key probably because of the purple coin sacrifice. I was about to get 4k in both matches as well, when the last two survivors found the hatch- both times. It is what it is.

I think the key mechanic is fine as is. From what I hear, it use to be worse in previous builds- bring key, find hatch, leave. When I started in Nov 2018, you just need 2 gens done and the whole squad could leave. Now you need all gens done for the hatch to show itself, in order for a full squad. 1 gen less remaining for every survivor alive. I think it is balanced now. Mori is the killer's version of keys. I say leave as is.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    he can do that.

maybe you stood right on top of it?

i think you need to stand in front of it (or on any side around it) in order to be able to close it. if you stand right on top of it i dont think you can close it no matter who you are.

Right- same for survivors. Can't open it if you are directly on top of it. I think it's kind of stupid for this to have somewhat of a semi-realistic mechanic.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

    He can.

I found this out in a very tragic situation.

I found the hatch and had a map equipped. I wanted to see the hatch aura via my map (I could never seem to find it with the map or I had already lost it etc). So instead of just running up the hill and in to the hatch, I stopped to check my map...

Wraith wandered up the hill and closed the hatch. And I died. And lost my map. 😥

I think using a map to find the hatch is either broken or ineffective. I did the same as you TWICE (lucky for me the killer was not around) and both times the hatch only showed up on the map when I was within hearing distance. That defeats the purpose! With add-ons I could see totems across the map, but not the hatch. The only way it could be useful is to let you know what side of the wall the hatch is on, if you have one blocking your sight and the killer is trying to beat you to it.

  • I think NOED is fine and Ruin should revert back. I am a survivor main who uses NEITHER when playing killer, BTW. Hope that puts things into perspective.

Are you guys talking about the Youtuber who has a dancing Claudette at the end of his videos?

  • Gotta chalk it up to one of the many toxic crap we as players have to endure, within the community. I hate it too, but I try not to let it get to me. Just report them and move on to the next match.

Freddy is pretty strong, i get that, but Pig and GF? Could you may explain how those two are op?

The stealth aspect. I don't think stealth for killers has a place in this game. It's a broken mechanic in my opinion. It gives killers a high chance of getting a free hit. Combine that with their second "powers" (insta-down for GF, and bear traps for Amanda), the crap gets ridiculous. Amanda's Surveillance perk is OP as well. So not only can she see the gen you are working on, she can come over and sneak up on you. Now you get to repeat the cycle of being unhooked, waste time trying to get the trap off your head, heal, and find another gen that she kicked, only for it to turn color and give away your position again. Yea, fun times. From green ranks to red ranks, with Potato survivors to Immersed players, it's all the same for escaping- low probability. Well that's my experience any way. At least when I lose to Nurse or Spirit, I feel like that player took the time and put in the work to be an efficient killer with said characters. Unlike the pay to win, easy bake pick up and play POS Ghostface.

Edit: Yes, I know survivors have spine chill. Not that effective against Amanda- she definitely knows you are in the area because of the gen color change.

  • If I see a map & key duo, I bring Mori with whatever best add-ons I have for that killer. It's dead after first hook for the key carrier. Fingers crossed he/she is using White Ward or a purple key ring so they don't drop it next to their corpse.

    1. Butt hurt survivor teammates disconnecting
    2. Ghostface
    3. Being 3 feet away from a window and getting hit through it (dedicated servers or not)
    4. Pig
    5. Freddy
    6. Ghostface
    7. Not getting a chance to play: downed early by stealth killer who spawned close by, left on hook till struggle mode, farmed in front of killer without Borrowed Time, downed immediately, no sympathy from killer seeing all this B.S & placed back on hook to die. GG. =/
    8. Doctor
    9. Being dead at the top of the leader board even after all 3 teammates escaped
    10. Ghostface

Bonus: Ghostface (I really hate this pay to win cheap POS)

  • He's fine to me. It's Ghostface, Pig, & Freddy (pay to win Killers) who are OP IMO- and not even fun to play against.

Baffles me why Nurse was nerfed yet Ghosface gets to go around and get free hits and has an insta down. At least OG Nurse players were skilled and earned the right to be Top Tier killers- after they put in the work to surpass the learning curve.

  • I don't usually advocate for the division of a player base in games, but man is SWF a completely different game for killers. The communication aspect alone is a HUGE advantage. SWF need their own lobbies and killers should get even more Bloodpoints (or special items/perks) for hosting them. Tired of getting punished in Solo que because SWF are too strong. Not looking forward to the Sabo & Toolbox rework to hit consoles.

  • Yes, killers should have the red stain still. Buff Beasts of Prey so that if a killer wants their stain removed for the majority of the match, they will have to use a perk slot. Like others have posted before, the red stain is a key element to chases.

  • I think NOED is fine, and I am a survivor main. Ruin was fine as well- it should be reverted back. Perks in this game are not OP- if anything, some need a slight buff like Mettle of Man (this was originally OP, NGL) & Lucky Break.

  • Slugging the third survivor who is dead on hook, to find the fourth is ok in my book. I get it- it's not fun for the survivors, but it's also not fun for some killers to let the last one get away. Besides, there have been times I was slugged after trying to get the last gen or two done, and the only other remaining survivor was hiding somewhere waiting for hatch. NOW, that's scummy. He deserves to be sought out and killed. I don't mind bleeding out, if it means I get to see him die before me.
