  • A Legion with Insiduous?? 💀

  • Probably little kids.

  • I don’t like going against Hag & trapper. Gotta watch them toes!

  • I think the killer is going to be a Hunter to join Demogorgon. His power is going to be large leaps.

  • I agree. Sometimes you just get a vibe that a ######### killer has NOED. And by ######### I mean you can tell they have experience but are not performing the greatest, and it’s the norm for them. Another tell sign for me is if a camper or any killer who can insta down you, suddenly wants to commit fully to a chase right before or after a gen pops. ESPECIALLY a camper with someone on hook. If you’re on the exit gate and hear a heartbeat, for a camper with someone already on hook- then that’s your ass.

  • I am completely lost. Can someone explain to me what is the endgame here and why a guide is needed to achieve it? I just do whatever challenge at any time- am I shorting myself of something or being inefficient?

  • Wraith was good even before the buff. I think SWF was tough for him, but definitely not solo que.

Okay so lemmie get this straight because something is very hard to deal with the killer should get more BP to compensate? Okay so if I a survivor go against a sweaty nurse should I the survivor get extra BP since a god nurse is near impossible to beat. OR lets try your logic another way round. If I a survivor is running a very fun build...let's say "Flip flop, Tenacity, Unbreakbill and Soul Guard" and I go against a killer using "Nurse's, BBQ, Ruin and Discordance" should I get compensated extra BP as well? Saying "It only affects killers so why do you care" is stupid you're giving killers free BP for....doing nothing? Cause again duo's and trios exist and popular to belief not all SWF are sweaty try hards some of them just wanna hang with their friends. There are plently of people of dislike versing certain killers I see people complaining about Freddy, Spirit, Nurse, should they get extra BP cause they verse something that causes more hardship? Your idea is super entitled.

Live communication trumps any meta build you could put together, as well as any Sweaty nurse or Spirit. Apples & oranges. I’m a survivor main, so I’m definitely not entitled. What a killer “eats,” won’t make you “#########” as a survivor, so stop getting jealous if they get extra points. Besides, this is just my suggestion and i already told you- you don’t have to like it. You’ve already made that abundantly clear more than once, so move on.

Won't be buying. Don't like the cosmetics.

Please tell me you didn’t buy the one before last, cause that was terrible in comparison to this one.

  • Do you have cross-play enabled? You shouldn’t have been matched up with the same bubba 4 matches in a row, especially immediately after a mid-chapter drop/new rift. I know you’re pissed about the camping & it sucks. I’m pissed about the farming & the new struggle phase making it worse. Try to remain calm and hang in there. I switch to another game and return later when i have too many back to back sessions of people playing like dicks.

    I am not.

$600 minimum for a new Console to run a 5 year old game? No thank you, I would rather pay rent and eat.

Absolutely. Makes sense. Good luck with your cause. Hope the devs follow up & follow through on that promise.

  • @Zixology said:

All it's done for me is get me farmed more often. I can't let myself die anymore to avoid being farmed in the killer's face. This change is promoting this.

Yea I don’t like this system either. I hope it gets reverted. Not being able to let yourself go on hook to avoid an intentional idiotic farm is frustrating. You’re giving the idiot teammate and the killer free points while you cant do a damn thing about it. When you have good teammates it is nice though. I like how the skill checks get smaller.

  • Any chance you’re looking to upgrade your console? With all these visual updates and content added, I imagine the game will get more demanding. Not making an excuse for its current state though. I think it should still be optimal on PS4 & XB1. Wonder how Switch is holding up...

So basically you want killers to be rewarded extra BP just for playing? Buddy do you understand how many players are actually SWF? Duos, trios and 4 mans. Your idea is awful.

Killers have to endure a lot more hardship when they play SWF. The amount of threads on here of killers not enjoying playing against them (like this one) is telling. Why not compensate them for having to play those sweaty matches? As for the “duos, trios, & 4 mans,” that’s why i say make it more BP per SWF person. A killer would get the max at 4 man or 2 & 2, and the least at 2. If its 4 solos, then the current BP. It’s ok not to like my idea, but trying to balance for SWF makes things much worse for solo que players. Besides, all the survivor nerfs in the world can’t combat communication. I’ll even go as far to say leave SWF BP as is, just increase killer’s. What’s it to anyone if the killer get more? It’s not affecting you so don’t worry about it. Enjoy your communication advantage.

  • Literally just happened to me. One of my teammates DC’d on death hook against a Freddy.

  • I main trapper and dislike playing against him. He’s fine as is, IMO. Just get one in the basement shack and it’s game over for survivors.

  • Do you have cross play enabled?

  • Series X owner here and currently everything has been good on my end. I’m in the U.S. I get the occasional once in a blue moon hiccup, but from what I can tell- the game maintains a solid 60 FPS. Next gen Launch was ROUGH though. Game was LITERALLY unplayable on Series X for almost two weeks. I had already deleted it off of my XB One X and was not in the mood to reinstall.

Now this is a good post. I agree; it would be nice if the hooked Survivor could choose NOT to be unhooked. I rather like the idea of kicking the person trying an unsafe rescue in the face. But you kind of hit on a key point here, that the problem isn't the Killer but rather a Survivor that is causing the situation. It is the unsafe rescue which is stupid, not the Killer simply pursuing his/her objective.

For example, every now and then some moron goes to the zoo and climbs into an animal enclosure. More often than not it is some dangerous animal they have decided to commune with. When the tiger (or whatever) kills the moron, nobody blames the tiger. It was just doing its job. The tiger didn't create the situation; it was just there. Most bad experiences that Survivors have can be traced back to the actions of other Survivors. Killers are just doing their job, and living up to their name.

That is an excellent point. However as killer, I defer to the old “Do unto others...” quote, cause I don’t like how it feels when it’s done to me. Sometimes I get legit mad at a particular player who keeps pulling someone off in front of me intentionally. I make sure they die- while letting the other player(s) escape the match.

  • SWF breaks every asymmetrical game. Communication trumps any nerfs or buffs. SWF should get reduced BP & leveling up per player, and the killer should get increased BP & leveling up per player- for his troubles.

  • Regardless of the term, it’s pretty much a dick move. I used to do that a lot as killer and had the same EXACT thought process, until I got to feel it done to me quite a few times as survivor- so I stopped. When you’re on hook, you have no control over who pulls you off or when. There are newbies and jerks who will pull you off right after a hook, or bring the killer towards you while in chase and unhook you. It’s not fun to get insta downed. There’s games where you literally don’t get to play cause the killer just comes back, downs you, and hooks you again. This mechanic is flawed. Someone once joked to me you should be able to kick survivors in the face if you don’t want to be unhooked at that moment. I laughed at first but then thought- he’s right! And yes, there are perks like BT and DS, but killers just wait out the time for BT, and DS is circumvented by getting slugged. So now you get to lay on the floor for a few while the killer hovers and chases teammates away. Good times.

  • Yea Spirit is tough- especially a rank 1. I agree- running back over your tracks doesn’t work. I even tried Tru3’s suggestion of doubling back crouched to throw off sound but that’s too inconsistent for me. When it doesn’t work, feel like I gave her a free hit and didn’t waste enough of her time. Iron Will for the spirits who do not run Stridor or Whisperers helps a lot. Combine that with Spine Chill & your chances improve ever so slightly lol. But the best counter I’ve had luck with so far (especially within the past 24 hours), is breaking line of sight and crouching still with Iron Will. Your timing has to be pretty damn good though. You need tall building structures/walls and you have to walk opposite of where you just ran and then crouch still (so if you just finished running to the right behind something, walk to the left then quickly crouch still behind another structure). Even then it’s no guarantee cause she knows you didn’t get far. Best I try to do is waste as much of her time as possible.

Hey, no need for the passive-aggressiveness, I'm not good at reading things. I misinterpreted this as something about survivors complaining about how BBQ is op, that was my fault and I'll promise to read things next time. Apologies.

So what would I have said instead of that?

No one wants to waste time going into lockers just for someone else to get chased, unless they're the last person left. There are better ways to counter BBQ, as listed above.

It’s alright- I apologize as well. But do you get what I’m saying? I literally encounter games where it’s just an unhook, heal, get downed- rinse and repeat. That’s not fun. It only takes 10-15 secs to hide or get closer to a carried survivor so B&C doesn’t trigger. It’s ok not to be good at looping. It’s ok to lose games. But to get stomped because the team is not having game sense or playing to their strengths? That’s not enjoyable at all. I’m talking literal 4 or 5 gens left and everyone is dead type of games. What is that?? I’m really trying to understand that logic.

  • @glitchboi said:

Gotta find perks to complain about, otherwise they wouldn't have an excuse for losing.

One thing i always see is how people contradict themselves saying good killers dont camp. I always see how they laugh at the trickster or any killer that wanted to play fair. The endgame chat is the best part.

Also, dont confuse being bad (for camping, im guessing? because camp = bad, genrush = good) with being smart.

If i manage to hook two people really close to eachother, or they both are in the basement, what do you expect me to do?

All survivors do the same, which is crouching and watching how their teammates die slowly. Guess whos the bad player here.

What are you talking about? You’re going off the rails. Do you see Monto, Tru3, or Otz camp? Campers camp every hook. Let’s not confuse this with EGC or two floating survivors trying to get the save. Campers camp even if no one is around. So, with that out of the way and back on topic, why broadcast to a killer who actually MOVES around the map where your location and your gen location is, if you know you can’t loop good?

  • @awosek said:

Pyramid head needs definitely nerf. How this this made to live servers like seriously. He can spam hiss ability without any fatigue 24/7 and can bait it without any cooldown. I think this is really stupid because huntress at least needs to pull out her axe and if she wants to take it back it takes another second at least. pyramid head can spam it like totally no brain #########. Trying to run him on loop with pallet is impossible cause it doesnt matter how hard u try he will keep spamming his ability until u re down. Just give him fatigue or some cooldown for anything he does cause pulling out his power to bait without any cooldown is just bullshit.

I’m a survivor main and pyramid head is fine. He was even fine at launch before the slight rework. Now you want to talk about nerfs? This mid chapter release couldn’t come any quicker for our buddy in the fedora hat and ugly ass Xmas sweater. glad to see him get neutered.

  • That’s why I don’t even bother going over there. It’s pointless. If they got the gates open then my thought process is gg wp. I’ll stand in a corner far away till EGC pushes them out. Now if you’re in the middle of a chase and a teammate opens the gate for your target, so be it. I’m so used to it. I’m pretty much immune. You’ll get the occasional jerk you really wanted to hook, who will pull off the teabag and escape, but oh well. It’ll sting for a sec and then it’s on to the next match. Don’t sweat it.

Hi guys, how are y'all doing?

I'm here to ask about how you feel to play as a solo survivor. I'm not the best player in the world, but i feel like it's pretty frustrating, almost impossible to play this game as a solo survivor. I'm always trying to help others, with bt or we'll make it, or extending chases/taking the killer away, just to see people wandering around and doing absolutely nothing. There's not a team spirit, people never try to help others and just do what's best for themselves (which most of the time is rely on sprint burst and play as quiet as possible). I've lost the counting on how my times people let me die on 1st hook, or killed themselves right away, farmed me inf front of killers and etc

I know SWF it's unbalanced, but i feel like playing as solo player just doesn't encourages me to play the game. :/

What level are you at mostly? I have the opposite problem in red ranks- solo que players tend to be a little too altruistic. I do get the occasional farm in front of the killer which is annoying, even if they have BT. I don’t like falling into purple, cause they tend to play like how you described. A lot of them are not efficient, and sometimes make me want to let myself go on hook after seeing cringy crab walks on the opposite side of map, away from killer (not hag).

  • @redsopine00 said:

No matter the rank they never adapt you hide in a locker and are suddenly stealth grabbed out of it obviously he can see you nope they always die always

They don’t adapt to barbecue either, so I’m not surprised.

  • Well, if you decide to upgrade to a Series X- take solace in knowing it runs well. It’s been optimized for X/S.

But BHVR fixed it, they even said so. And they definitely tested everything to make sure that there is no possible way the issues with stunning with pallets would exist.

Nah it’s still there. Just not as prevalent. I got hit with that crap yesterday and literally yelled at my tv: “I thought y’all fixed this #########!!”

  • I already stated he’s going to get punished with 2-3 gens getting done if he camps. Good killers will not camp because they will lose points. Two other things- you mentioned friends- my question is for solo que players, not SWF. This doesn’t apply to you guys cause y’all have comms. Also, I’m assuming you’re good at looping- because you sound very confident. My question also doesn’t apply to you, this is for players who know they are bad in chases. Can’t do better than 30 secs.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2151112#Comment_2151112

They either arent competitive or just dont think into it. Most players run the same builds on certain killers because it's what works at higher ranks so you can usually guess what perks they have before you even see so for example you could hear a gunshot, so slinger.. means probably monitor. But so many players just dont look into it that way, not to mention survivors want points, this is why they waste pallets to get stun points, trade hooks for points etc. Basically the game rewards you for playing bad when you shouldn't. While I understand not everyone will have the same knowledge or even skill and predictability but the difference between red rank players is wayyyyy to big and that's the issue, not to mention the game is balanced around those players

Smh damn. I think you’re on to something. Too many bad players in red ranks because the most points are attributed to being altruistic. That’s why we have asshats pulling each other off hook right in front of the killer, right after being hooked. Or leaving gens 70% done to run towards a hook save.

  • @Clevite said:

I don't hide, because I enjoy the chase, and prefer to pressure gens. Win or lose, it is the most fun part of the game for me. Also I will provide a distraction for the killer to hopefully allow for a safe hook rescue by my team, as I will be running, AWAY from the hook.

    I can respect this.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2151102#Comment_2151102

respecting BBQ will just waste your time at most points. Hiding in a nearby locker will waste a lot of gen time.

Especially if it is a high Mobility killer chances are he’ll get there anyway. Someone will have to take chase while the others work on different gens or take over on the current one

I think this is the thought process everyone has, but a lot of times it doesn’t work out that way. Someone really doesn’t have to take chase. The killer can guess right, come over to gen that was worked on, and that player who is bad at chases may have slipped away. The killer is not CERTAIN, someone is fully there (unless he has whispers which is not common). The player may be in a good hiding spot while killer is wasting time searching the area. Other 3 working on gens. Killer moves on, bad looper gets back on gen. Now let’s say killer moves on to another gen and the same thing happens. He can’t find bad looper #2. Doesn’t have Pop any more, and is searching wasting time. I mean it’s an ideal scenario and it wouldn’t ALWAYS play out like that, but why make things 100% certain for the killer? As opposed to the circle jerk scenario I mentioned above that I see waaaay too often.

  • @Haku said:

Do you know what was the initial idea about the perk ? The effect was and still is supposed to give the killer another target so that he does not camp. And till today I have to say it still works as intended. I hope this gives u all the answers /yup it is just that simple/

Good killers don’t camp. Maybe I need to edit my OP. Let’s assume he’s not a camper- which the average killer isn’t. Besides, campers are going to camp regardless and don’t usually run info perks. And if he decides to camp, 2-3 gens are getting done as punishment, then someone can get the save with borrowed (which is survivor meta).

  • @MadLordJack said:

Because it's better for the killer to actually come over to me, away from the hook.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Most survivors are average at best when it comes to understanding the tiles and loops so for those players to actively understand, workout or predict which perks the killer is using and then adapt in the very same match is far too unlikely. You have to remember most players always run loops the same regardless of the killer, they also tend to commit to thiese loops instead of adjusting. Basically rank means nothing and you're just matched with weaker players, it annoys me to though so dont worry lol

Lol yea it does. But there are players who have some decent hours in and still don’t respect the meta. I don’t know how they find it fun playing a game of just unhooking & healing.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

"[TLTR; why don’t you hide in a locker to avoid barbecue/pop]"

Because faking the direction you are heading to is better

I try this sometimes which leads to mixed results. Some killers swing wide and unintentionally counters that.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Because if the killer is some what decent he’ll know where to go anyway. Not to mention hiding behind a gen can counter bbq’s effect

If you’re bad at looping, he’s going to know for certain you’re still there. I’m talking about players actually staying on the gen working. Not hiding behind it. Why give him 2 for 1? If he guesses right, he pops the gen and maybe moves on if you were successful in being evasive. But if he saw u on the gen as barbecue was lit up, he knows you’re still there and even if u get away- he saw what gen your teammates were on as well. Information is everything. Why are we giving it away for free?

  • I used to enjoy going against spirit- especially vanilla spirit before the rework. Currently these days, not so much. I think it really has more to do with my solo que teammates. They don’t respect barbecue & pop. She’s tough to get away from so why broadcast your location & the gen you’re working on, just for her to pop that gen- down you in 30 seconds, hook, then rinse and repeat? I’m usually the last survivor who got the only 2 gens done cause I either got close when she’s carrying a downed survivor, or hid in a locker for 10 seconds. As soon as barbecue is done, I’m out of the locker finishing my gen- while my teammates are dropping like flies. That’s not fun at all. Aside from this, I have a great deal of respect for Spirit & Nurse players because they require SKILL to play effectively. Players who are good with Spirit put in the time and effort to learn her, and I respect that- unlike pay to win Freddy & Ghostface. I don’t mind losing to a good Spirit, and find it challenging trying to shake her off when breaking line of sight. Survivors in the past complaining about her & nurse actually made them stronger by causing them to be reworked- IMO. At least my chases vs. rank 1’s using them didn’t always end up with me getting hit after the first phase or second blink, back then.

The Lucky Break buff is nutty, but there is no way it's making it to live.

I think it will. 90 secs. is terrible for a game that averages 20 mins. I used the current lucky break on 3 of my chars, when it first came with Yui- and the 2 min plus still wasn’t enough. Even with healing & medkits. The timer doesn’t pause when you’re healing/being healed. Healing in sloppy butcher eats up that timer.

That's barely a change, though. Having his M&A terror radius be at the very cusp of his gun range vs. slightly less than it doesn't mean much.

I was thinking compromise but ok- let him join the 32 meter club then lol

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1168753#Comment_1168753

Huntress has a considerably longer range than Deathslinger, though. If you raised Deathslinger's TR, it would probably make M&A mandatory on him since otherwise the Survivors can get an early enough warning on him that it would take him forever to get within range to shoot.

Nothing too crazy- maybe devs can bump it up to 26 meters.

  • Ehhhh gonna have to agree with OP on this one- M&A on Deathslinger is too strong. His TR needs to be widened since he has a long range game. I imagine this is why you can hear Huntress hum from afar, so if you get sniped- you have no excuse.

  • im on xbox as well and I see it on both sides

  • I don't think Doc's (chess piece?) add-on should affect it.

I don't use or even have DS, btw.

  • When killers play like that, they could give a rat's a$$ about whether or not survivors are having fun. It's fun to them because they're winning.

I'll chalk it up to them getting used to Deathslinger and being tired of missing their shots every 8 seconds, so they play it safe till they're more comfortable after a few more games. Gotta admit it's quite comical hearing gunshots ring out afar for 3 mins and see no DW hits while I'm on gens: "Damn, he sucks with that thing..." lol

  • Hang in there- I think the devs will address SWF at some point this year. It's getting out of control and everyone is complaining. I believe there was a newly posted SWF complaint thread posted above yours, around the same time- yesterday. lol
