  • Same issue on PS4 and PC. Brought RPD 3 times in a row and a random brought it for a 4th. Each time it crashed.

  • Remove circle from view of survivors and give the guards faster spawning time/chase speed. Also they need to work out some bugs with the guards getting stuck on tiles.

I am happy for AoT skins, i bought Kate and Zarina skins, they both are fire.

Full Metal is great series, i would gladly buy some skins. Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul, Berserk, Hellsing and Castlevania also would be great cosmetic collections. I hope we can get more collections in future.

I want Alucard as a killer now.

I mean, its strange and they aren't supposed to be the characters, but rather cosplaying them, but for the most part I'm totally digging it! Too sad that the whole set would cost me about as much as all other DLC together (when a sale right now is going on). But dayum, Yui as Mikasa is soooo cool.

I agree. I'm totally psyched for the Armor Titan Oni and I'm about to switch my main to Ace so I can run around as Kenny.

I would argue it is more horror than Stranger Things... So, you know, fine by me.

I can't argue with that considering I just watched Levi cut Zeke's feet into ribbons.

i'm guessing the surveys that bhvr put out was a part of the decision, a lot of people probably wanted some kind of anime collaboration and aot is a very popular one. maybe they're sort of testing the waters with this to see if future collaborations will be successful

That would be sick. I would love to see a Full Metal or Bleach colab.

Because it's interesting seeing you triggered with no reasoning behind it.

What I'm saying is, even if both the survivors and the killer is at top peak mechanical skill and game knowledge, the one who will be on top will always be the survivors, the survivors will only end in bad situation if they just stop with their consistency.

Decisive Strike is a inconsistency preventer, it makes a mistake into a play which no skill is needed and still prevent the killer from acting, that's why people with DS will run agressive towards the killer trying to make themself grabbed and stun the killer to buy time, which is already something survivors have.

It is a good tunneler preventor, but in general is a killer preventor.

Triggered? XD im not the one that started the thread. But it is tiring seeing both sides whine about the state of the game when they could just be working on getting better. If you know a survivor is trying to DS you and you dont want to eat the stun why are you still picking them up? And the scenario you are describing were both sides are equal in skill is incredibly rare unless your up against rank 1 SWF which is also not very common. Its why the devs don't balance around it.

A good survivor will buy 40 seconds to his team alone during the chase, which is 50% of a generator, that with three survivors doing others generators will make 3 gens by 80% by the arrival of the killer and since the killer isn't omnipresent, they will still do 2 gens while one of the survivors which were doing gen will get chased.

And since the Struggle Phase of the hook still takes 60 seconds to take place, they will have enough time to work at their own pace.

Again, you added nothing to the discussion except your opinion, the rest is just trying to offend me, which I don't care.

If you dont care then why are you commenting on everything i say? Seems to me you care very much. If you are having these kinds of problems every game than the survivors are just better than you. Dont let a survivor get 40 seconds into a chase. If you do they are either better than you (take out the weak links first) or you just aren't good at chasing (practice more) but dont blame your losses on a perk and whine about nerfs and reworks because you dont want to try. Learn to mindgame, slug more often, spread the pressure instead of going after one survivor and play a killer that actually scares survivors.

  • @IshinSolarc said:

Then just present proof of how to pressure all gens against SWF "meta perks" survivors, while the killer is either Clown, Trapper and Wraith.

    You gotta prove your point.

Lmfao if you know that those killers have problems pressuring gens and your upset that your losing than the problem is definitely you. And just like any killer you get downs, kick gens, and make hooks. If you cant make a hook because of ds you slug. If they have unbreakable oh well.

  • @IshinSolarc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601089#Comment_1601089

Did you read the discussion about it being paired with Unbreakable or did you just scroll down to comment as fast as you could? Either way, even if you slug, the survivor will just use Unbreakable during the time, the killer is put in a forced situtation in which the survivor is intouchable, pair it with other players "running the meta" and most of the killers(characters) is in a unwinnable situtation that will get the gens done and the killer will have only one survivor dead at max with no skill dependance on the survivors's side.

Have you actually played this game or did you just get butthurt because someone ds'd you so you came to the forums to ######### as fast as you could? There are plenty of ways to counter ds. You just obviously dont know how. If they have unbreakable then oh well. Eat the stun or leave them. Its your fault if you lose them, not theirs for running a combo they like. Also if your only getting one kill its not because of ds. Its because you dont know how to pressure survivors and how to chase well, or the survivors were actually just better than you.

Mori is a douchebag offering which shouldn't have been created to begin with, no killer who wants to make the game fun uses it, only toxic ones. And probably the dev team won't remove Mori because they "will lose all the cool death animations" and have to rework the compendium quest that needs survivors to be killed by killers own hands. They should remove Mori? Yes. The will? Probably not, just like the bug of getting stuck in a rock.

I see no problem with the concept of Decisive Strike though, but it needs huge rework because it makes the efforts of the killer's chase go to waste with no way to play against it without having to use Mori.

No way to play against it except a mori? You do know you can slug right? Or just dont tunnel someone who just got unhooked?

  • @lostboy said:

DS is abused by locker hoppers, cleansing totems and doing gens in front of the killer. The killer has two choices at best take the stun or ignore them. It's design needs adjusting.

If you see survivors wasting a ds this way then they aren't very good survivors and even a mediocre killer should be able to punish them.

  • @IshinSolarc said:

I'm not here to say "remove DS, op perk", I'm here to serve an alternative so the skill still be in the game.

Let's try to maintain the discussion neutral and healthy.

So in what I want to discuss is:

The window of time after getting unhooked and being able to use Decisive Strike is absurdly huge for such a fasted paced game(from rank 1-5 at least), survivors will mostly try to do generators as fast as possible, in that way a game can be over before 6 minutes if played well in SWF with communication.

Since a killer most of the time need to do 2 hits, chases can take 30-50 seconds to be done if the killer isn't able to surprise the survivors and also lose around 10 seconds putting the survivor on the hook, while a generator needs 80 seconds to be done. In the end a killer must get the survivor on the hook and try to prevent the next generator as fast as possible after the chase, and depending on the map they can't prevent it in time and the generator will be done even if they do know what generator the survivors are working on.

It shows that the killer must be very efficient with their timing, they can't afford to lose anymore seconds with bad chases otherwise a lot of generators will be done, Decisive Strike breaks any killer timings even if they are efficient and know how to do chases right(except Nurse because she's the Nurse, and Spirit), it will prevent rehooking survivors for 60 seconds forcing the killer to slug them over long periods, and even if the killer slugs the survivor, they will get back up from help or just use Unbreakable while others rush generators.

    My solution:

Decrease Decisive Strike time to 6/12/15 seconds and the time will only start counting during the next dying state after being unhooked.

It will be able to be countered by killers without messing up their timings and it will be enough time for the survivor's team to arrive and not forcing the killer to slug the survivor who may be with Unbreakable for over 20 seconds, which maintain the game running for every player, even the killer.

DS is in the game for a reason and it is the way it is for a reason. Because it it not fun getting tunneled of the hook every god damn time. If your going to play using a ######### play style than you should get punished for choosing to do so. High risk, high reward.

  • Thank you for answering @MandyTalk

  • Not sure if it's posted here cause I'm not gonna go through this whole thread, but I believe @Peanits just shared a picture on the forums showcasing the removal of the Iron Works infinite.

Edit: accidently found the picture on this thread. Maybe I should have just read the damn thing.

  • They are removing infinite loop from iron works and coldwind farm maps are set to be reworked. I'd say that's huge for killer.

  • Hands down Quentin. They muffed that boys face up.

Sir, its not for dumb scenarios like laggy killers, its either servers being trash or getting booted off.

If your actually getting booted because of bad internet that's one thing. But there are still plenty of people who DC over crap like "I don't like that perk/killer" or "pallets are op". Hopefully with time they will fix the DC and bad connection issues and when they do they should probably increase the DC penalties. The stronger the punishment the less likely you are to find people willing to take it.

  • I'm not even gonna take the time to vote on this. If you have a problem with the DC penalty it's likely because you DC over dumb things like the killer was actually good or the survivors were out playing you. Stop ruining the game for others or just don't play 🤷

I think he'd also be pretty lore breaking. Considering he literally kills Gods and other "divine" beings, that sounds pretty problematic for an archaic primordial God-like being such as the entity. He'd probably fight back against the entity trying to enslave him either endure the pain if he couldn't fight or willing to die rather than be subjugated to the will and whim of anyone else, and possibly kill the other killers along the way.

I can agree with the lore breaking for sure. Honestly wasn't thinking of any of that when I made the poll. Yeah at the very least Kratos would die trying to kill the entity. Just another Zeus in his book.

  • @KingFrost said:

Don't worry too much about the first 3 gens. Your job isn't to stop them from doing ANY gens. Its to stop them from leaving. If the generators are on one side of the map, that's good for you. It shrinks the map. You want the map to shrink. Its only really an issue if the gens they're doing are scattered. The first gens are the easiest to do, the last gens should be the hardest. Had a game today where the first three gens popped fast, with only one down. Got my second hook and the fourth gen popped. But the last three gens were pretty close together. The situation was perfectly managable. I got my third hook, and things took off from there. I didn't panic. Eventually got one of them out of the game, and I just kept fighting for that last gen. Did they almost complete it? Yes. Did my obsession with OoO try to finish it in my face? Yes. Did I have STBFL? Yes. Did I laugh hard when I got a grab? Also Yes. Then I hung her, popped the gen, found Jake hiding, downed him, hooked him a third time. Chased the Claudette, downed her and it was game over. First four gens went very fast. I think a lot of killers panic when that happens. But if the gens are close together, its working in your favor. You can't always protect the early gens. Sometimes you've just gotta know when to let go.

Also this. Games often start out rough for killers like @KingFrost said. But the game isn't over until their all out or dead.

  • Also apply more pressure in the early game. If a chase is taking to long go find the other survivors and force them off gens.

  • Down them faster. Not trolling but serious. A whole minute to find and down someone is alot of time wasted since most survivors will go straight for the closest gen. Corrupt intervention and whispers are both great perks to aid in the early game.

I've been playing with him on console at rank 1 with

    Monitor

    Nurse's

    Bitter/BBQ

    STBFL or Brutal Strength

Works for me at rank 1. Loops are useless to survivors without a waste of a pallet (shortening how many times you can be looped).

For PC, I'm not Rank 1 atm but

    Spirit Fury

    Enduring

    Monitor

    BBQ/Bitter Murmur.

I'm doing fine with this build too. Even against swf.

I don't see how everyone can call this killer so weak after being out for less than 3 months. If you're comparing this guy to Huntress ofc he is weak... Huntress is legit a top tier killer lol

He might need some tiny buffs or QOLC's but he's definitely not D-tier. Id say mid C-tier. I'm currently running M&A, Haunted Grounds, Devour, and BBQ. As long as you can hit your shots and end the chases quickly Devour becomes a clutch perk. (Provided it doesn't get cleansed, which is why the Haunted)

Oh......so it's not a matter of just wiggling like when he's carrying you. Appreciate the heads up😅

No you can't wiggle free. But like @Anevian said just put the chain through obstacles. Also try make sure that there is always obstacles between you and Slinger. This will give you better chances of finding a way to break it. And don't run in a straight line but don't wiggle and spin all of the place. Killers gain on you when you do that.

  • Try standing still at pallets. Survivors will be unsure how to react because they don't know what your doing. This will either cause then to leave the loop or throw it prematurely.

How would he be op??? They get the rights to him, then the new killer gets abilities that are balanced in the likeness of Kratos. Just because he's the God of War doesn't mean BHVR would just make him unfair to play against.

How does he ignore pallets tho? Once the pallet is down, his chain will be blocked by the rest of the loop and only last 2.5 seconds before breaking.. You can't even walk around a small loop before the chain breaks.

Also if you can predict the survivor movements well enough you can hook them before they even reach the pallet.

A good deathslinger can shoot you over the loop. An even better Slinger will force you to the short side of the loop then shoot you over it, allowing them to reel you around it and get a hit. Or they can catch up enough so they can even shoot you on the same side before you vault or round the corner at the opposite end of the loop.

  • My gf ran into it while scrolling through psn. We were looking for something new to play and the game was unlike anything we had ever played. We are also big horror nuts so it drew us in right away. Haven't stopped playing since.

  • Just had this conversation with someone else on another post. His real power lies in his ability to end chases quickly. If he was buffed in any way the devs would have to be careful not to buff him to much or he could easily become the next Nurse. So in order for him to be balanced he has to be heavily skill based. That's why the small hitbox and 110 speed and lots of slow actions. Granted he could use a small buff or two and some QOL improvements like an ADS sens slider but there are certain things that just shouldn't be changed.

Except adding a delay to his ADS is going to make him even worse than he already is. So what if he can quickscope? Its not like he can instant down you without any effort. He's a 110% Killer because his power was consider too strong to have base movement speed, not to mention alot of his actions with the gun cost him time and speed. Good survivors can constantly break line of sight using his movement speed against him too, so he actually NEEDS this nearly instant ADS speed if he wants a chance to hit anything.

On a side note, have you actually tried to quickscope with the Deathslinger? It's not as easy as it looks, considering you have to account for survivor movement, which can be incredibly erratic. Not to mention the hook's tiny hitbox....

Plus the fact that it has limited range and you have to center the surv before firing which can be very difficult if they are constantly wiggling and spinning.

  • @Nanglaur said:

He needs to have a little delay on the aim, I dont think he is op but the fact that you can just aim in and out without any delay is just dumb.

No he doesn't. They just nerfed his ads turn speed on console. Giving him a delay would make him dogshit because quick scoping is now his best way of getting hits on console. Also adding a delay would make him worse than old Freddy. The survivor would always have the upper hand against him. That's not how a killer power is supposed to work. That's why Freddy was reworked in the first place.

  • Deathslinger is fine the way he is. Learn to play against him just like every other killer. He has plenty of counterplay.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

I personally would love a crusader, a roman legionnare or a WWI soldier added into the game, so much you can do with those concepts.

A Spartan or Viking would be dope. Charge across the map and shield bash a survivor. It would knock the survivor backwards and only injure not down.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

Slugging is probably at its strongest when you have an instadown/fast moving killer and can chain downs using something like Infectious. Killers like Oni, Billy, Spirit, Nurse, and Doctor can slug really well if they have a build around it. Doctor seemingly being the odd man but because of tier 3 madness, ppl can't pick up slugs until snapping out of it which can work really well if the person your chasing is the one trying to pick up the slug.

Slugging just to slug will have very mixed results depending on the survivors and what they do.

Slugging when you see someone else nearby can be 50/50 depending on whether or not you can down or injure them quick. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Deathslinger can also slug really well. Nurses and Monitor allow for some nasty results with the harpoon.

Thank you so much! That would actually be -amazing-! I'm a Survivor rank 2 who constantly says I don't deserve it. LOL I've just played enough games that the game shoved me into the red rank when I honestly perform more like a purple or even green some days. T.T

We all have our bad days :)

  • The ranking system is supposed to go away at some point and be replaced with an mmr system. Kinda like Overwatch but your skill rating will be hidden. There's a thread on the forums somewhere. I believe it's under developer activities.

  • I think instead of deep wounds it should just apply Mangled or Broken for so long. Nothing ridiculously long of course. Maybe until healed for mangled of 60 seconds of broken status. Especially if they changed it to broken status his power would definitely make him worthy of 110.

  • Gens and map sizes are the biggest complaints from the killer community. But it doesn't matter. Your cries fall on deaf ears. The lery's and coldwind farm changes were announced a while ago and they still haven't released them. I tried being positive myself but all that gets you is an upvote. The devs dont really seem to care about the killer community and it shows in their actions. Like tiny QOLC that really do nothing. We get a killer rework every few months and that still doesn't fix the real problem. On top of all that they go off and nerf the only perk that was viable for slowing gens down and don't do anything to nerf the survivor side. I get that there might be more money in survivors but there is no money without killers because there's no one to play against. I guess BHVR would just build predictable bots at that point. Lol

  • God damn it lol
