The devs also said that killer-specific MMR hasn't been implemented.
There's also been no confirmation by the devs on any sort of values. Yes, they said each survivor is considered an individual win or loss, but they never said that that means a killer gains 4 times as much MMR for a 4k as a survivor does for an escape.
If 30 matches were enough to jump a significant amount then you'd be in high ranks one week and low the next just out of sheer luck.
30 games is not enough to expect a significant difference in an MMR system.
Also "losing 4 times the normal amount of MMR" is just wrong, since you ALWAYS have that same amount of MMR for grabs in a killer match.
I've never heard then say anything about it not being implemented
I'm not saying they gain or lose 4 times a survivor wut I'm saying is if one guy escaped is -30 then four man escape is -30+-30+-30+-30 idk about you but to me 30 games of that sounds like a lot
30 matches definitely is enough to change mmr significantly cause inwoukd say it took me maybe 50 to 60 straight 3ks or 4ks to reach high mmr on Trapper so yea dude idk where your getting your numbers from
Also technically no if someone escapes through hatch then it's considered a draw and nobody loses or gains mmr

You can also use a shroud of separation or whatever its called where it forces all survivors to start on the map separately its not always useful but it can help in those first few minutes
Lol that offerings terrible you don't want them all split up then they can pop 2 gens during the first chase
Theirs Theirs reason you never see good killers use it
Cause it actually negatively effects your game

This has happened 3 times during the double bp event now haha
No offense but how do you die that fast? Again not trying to be rude but I'm pretty sure running the killer for 30 secs would've gave you more then that and you could've easily done that with 2 pre dropped pallets
So what gives?

@anarchy753 said:
Losing 30 games isn't that many. Considering how long MMRs been going 30 games of losses probably offsets like... 2 weeks of MMR? They said there's no cap to how high you can go so it's not like you can be sitting at the top cap and lose x games to be at the bottom.
He just said he rarely plays Doctor so he shouldve already started at a lower mmr
And the devs even said for killers it's not 1v4 its 1v1v1v1
So therefore that's 30 games of losing 4 times the normal amount of mmr
Umm if it's working how they say it should he definitely should've lost a ton of mmr don't be silly

Ever since MMR came out I had always questioned if it actually was working relatively smoothly. For those who don’t know how MMR works, watch Otzdarva’s video on it; it explains it in really simple terms.
Anywho, I (like many people) noticed that ever since MMR arrived, my killer games are a lot more sweaty. More SWF running toolboxes w/ brand new part, medkits w/ styptic, Boon totems, DS, Borrowed Time, etc.
Since the bloodhunt event started, I decided to solely grind bloodpoints and not even worry about kills. And since I didn’t care about kills, I decided now would be a good time to run a little experiment: play every game as a single killer, play normally and get everyone to death hook, but then just let them finish gens and escape. I did this on Doctor just because he’s fun and I don’t mind playing a ton of games as him. So far I’ve played a little over 30 games as Doctor where I let every single survivor go.
For context, I’m a pretty average killer. Maybe slightly above average, but nothing significant. I play a big variety of killers and am pretty average at all of them. So that should give you a general idea of where my MMR would be at.
The weird thing is, though, that my games haven’t changed at all. I was expecting that after 6 or 7 straight losses that I’d start facing some potato survivors, but that never happened. 10 games, 15 games, 20 games, and eventually 30 games went by where I saw no difference. In fact, I’ve recently had some of the sweatiest games I’ve ever seen before. Yesterday I faced a 4 man SWF all running soul guard, for the people, Boon: circle of healing, and borrowed time, with 2 of them running toolboxes with brand new part, and the other 2 with medkits.
No matter how many games I lose, I keep coming up against 4 man SWF that are obviously not low MMR. Some games they may not be SWF but still have 1 or 2 teammates that are insanely good and can loop me for days, and some games every survivor is just really solid overall. Occasionally I’ll check profiles and I’ll see some of the people I go up against have 500, 1000, and even a couple times I saw 1500 hours!!!
And before you ask, no, I’m not playing at times of day where there aren’t many players, which usually causes matchmaking to pair you up with whoever is available even if they’re vastly different in MMR. I play in the evening when matchmaking is instant and you don’t ever have to wait more than 30 seconds. And no, my Doctor MMR was not particularly high before starting the 30 game losing streak. I’m not bad at doctor, but I’m definitely not winning matches all the time.
So all of this is what leads me to believe that MMR is not working how it should be. When you lose matches, the MMR value should go down, and the matchmaking system should pair you up with survivors with an average MMR similar to your own. After more than 30 consecutive losses you logically shouldn’t be going up against 4 man SWF that can CJ Tech you and pull off crazy spins, and the fact that this is the case means that Behavior didn’t actually make the MMR system the way they described it. I also think that’s why you’re not allowed to see your own MMR value.
Behavior knows that if they let you see the actual numerical MMR value, people would call them out as liars after seeing things like a killer at 600 points being paired up with a team of survivors each around 2500 points (or vice versa).
Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is this more of a killer problem than a survivor problem? Has anyone else seen or done any additional testing on this topic? I’d love to hear other people’s opinions on this.
I've been saying this, I'm high mmr on Trapper currently
Yesterday I played pig who I rarely played and just farmed with survivors idk 10-15 games
Hopped on today first match was a all beamers all bt all deadhead all spinechill all circle of healing match
Love to see it but ofc nobody believes me and I typically get some guy telling me my games are made up
But ik they aren't cause I'm the one playing them lol

Your guys are not taking something into consideration- Que times. Que times supersede MMR. If there are not enough High MMR killers to go around, it doesn’t matter how many games in a row you lose- you and every other mid MMR killer will get placed with a sweaty 1% Swf for that evening. Pay close attention to how fast your lobbies Que up when you’re killer. Especially if there are already 4 in there when you join or 4 immediately join after your lobby is created.
He just said he's playing during the middle of the day and que times are instant
I hate when people don't read the whole post

What was the old hatch like?
It spawned at the very start of the game and anyone using a item known as a key could open and escape as well as all the other survivors that found it as well
So with the fact that their is offerings that affect where hatch spawns sometimes before the change you could have a 30 second to 1 minute game if it was a swf and they all had keys or even if 1 of them had a key and told everyone else where it was at
Overall very very busted there used to be streamers that would only play like this
-
@Snowstruck said:
...and why the hatch "fix" was not enough.
To put it briefly, hatch is simply too unfair still. By the logic of the hatch, the killer should be given at least 1 free kill. I understand that hatch is not a guarantee, but it's still a very high chance the survivor finds hatch first.
IMO, hatch should only spawn should there be ONE survivor left and ALL GENS DONE. That way it's mostly fair. Right now, it is literally a free escape for the last survivor, and it is extremely unbalanced.
I DO ALSO UNDERSTAND that hatch prevents the game from lasting too long due to no gameplay happening. How to solve that? Show the killer the last person's aura every minute or less if said person is not doing a task for longer than x amount of seconds, until said person starts interacting with an objective. That way it's not taking the game hostage. OR SOMETHING.
Hatch right now is just simply STILL unreasonable. Maybe it's just me?
No offense but it's just you, you already got the 3k just accept that you won and the final guy will probably find it I mainly play trapper and it really doesn't bother me hell if you really hate it that much just slug and it'll never spawn

Have you seen the list of changelogs every single patch? There is only so much time one person can spend on fixing bugs and there is only so many people working at BHVR who can fix bugs. Demanding all bugs to be fixed is practically impossible.
There are only a handful of glitches and gamebreaking bugs in the game right now, and those were introduced with the latest patch.
It's like people not being aware that Stab Wounds Study was changed from 3-5 seconds. It wasnt mentioned in the patch notes, but it was in the changelogs.
You realize that bhvr is the biggest game developer in Canada right?
And that it took them five years to come up with a change to trapper a character that's been in the game since it launched and that change was changing the number of traps he carries at the start from 1 to 2
That's right it took them 5 years to come up with that
I understand optimism for your favorite game but like others said you really haven't been here long have you

Yes I agree gen speeds isn't the issue but people continue assert that when they suggest to Increase gen speeds
Also tunneling is most definitely a thing. The fact that the killer are supposed to kill survivors is irrelevant. Otherwise that's like saying gen rushing isn't a thing because the survivors have to do gens as quickly as possible to win
Fine I'll say it I'll be the elephant in the room tunneling and gen rushing both aren't aren't thing
Think about it for a second in what other game are you called out and talked down on for completing your objective as quickly as possible? The answer is none
Both aren't a thing but the maps do need to be fixed there ######### massive

You have no idea how long I've played slinger. I could tell you the same thing. You don't know anything about how slinger should be balanced because you haven't played him long enough. It's easy to say and there's really not a lot to say about it. As I told someone before it's a non-argument. It has no weight and all you're doing is trying to put your opinion above mine by claiming I know nothing about slinger.
Also I don't need to be a medical professional to play DBD x>

Okay then how is he dead? Because all I see is actual counterplay. I don't see why he should be able to shoot survivors without any reaction time as that goes against any good design philosophy. Deathslinger desperately needed the nerf and saying he didn't is just a massive cope. In every loop you died just because you couldn't do anything against him. Vault? Shot. Run to the pallet? Shot. Fake it? Hit. In the open? Zig zag and lose distance or get shot. Every scenario with Deathslinger was a lose for survivors. And I actually have a fair amount of hours put into Deathslinger as well. I have him P3 and a handful of cosmetics along with knowing his mechanical side too. Reeling around corners and prediction are a big part of his kit and is what I consider his skill ceiling. With old Slinger you never had to use these though. Why would you when you could just noscope survivors like its BO2?
The "oh well you just never played the character" thing is a non-argument. It's like moral high ground. You can say things to paint me in a certain light to try and put yourself above me, but it doesn't disprove anything I've said. All you're doing is making a desperate attempt to discredit me in probably one of the most childish ways possible. I'd also like to add that you don't need a million hours in a character to say "oh okay that's bullshit". If anything you should've been the one playing against old Deathslinger. I've already stated in this reply the reasons why he was busted. If you don't see any design flaw with that then I don't think there's anything I could say to change your mind.
Yes but if you've played deathslinger for 3 games your opinion should be valued way less then the guy that has 1000 hours
You wouldnt go to the doctor and tell them they are wrong right?

I especially hate using it on Trapper. I don't understand the logic behind using Corrupt Intervention on him- how are you supposed to set up around the generators closest to you when you're pushing the survivors towards those generators? You want them on the furthest away generators because you want to set up your territory.
Because even if the gens are blocked it doesn't stop you from setting up traps by them you don't have to push the survivors towards any direction you can just only set up traps
You don't have to use it how everyone else uses it that's what makes it good
And also sometimes ci blocks gens far away from you it's completely random
As I said all it does is make the game last longer then 5 mins
Don't overthink it and it becomes simple that's it's only purpose

I agree. It can be a good patch in theory but we can't test it, so we don't know if it's truly good.
For example a lot of people want the speed boost on nemesis's contamination removed, apparently they've said they tested this at one point and said it was overpowered/not fun.
They also thought Billy with no overheat mechanic was overpowered so I wouldn't take anything the dves say too seriously

Ikr. Anybody with a brain knew how busted old slinger was. I loved his design but always felt awful playing him since it was pretty much easy mode. You can still reel around corners which is arguably his biggest strength. Hole shots too but those were always a gimmick. He plays the exact same as before but now survivors have actual counter play instead of just going off of guess work alone.
Please play the character before making the posts on a character was my point which you didn't get

@Vampwire said:
People are just mad they don't have brain dead killers who win in every scenario. And that's not an exaggeration either. Old slinger literally won in every single situation just because survivors had no way to tell when he would shoot.
Old slinger was like huntress with no wind up time. So that's what they did to balance him. They made you have to plan shots instead of quickscoping when its convenient to. Slinger still has a lot going for him in a chase, people just don't care how to learn his mechanics because they're use to getting free hits.
You know based off people posts I can tell some people never play the killers they complain about and it's hilarious to hear people complain about something they've never tried to play themselves

As far as I can tell, this video shows 1 game, and in my humble opinion that cannot be used to say "every game". Unfortunately this player deletes his stream VODs so I can't look at how his games on average go, but my sneaking suspicion based on some of his other youtube videos is that he usually has games that last longer and result in him winning, and that despite maining one of the comparatively weaker killers at high MMR. I could post one of his other videos where he slaughters survivors with multiple gens left standing and also entitle it "This is high mmr", because it is. How about his most recent one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDy_H6gydJQ - All survivors dead with only 2 gens completed, game only lasted around 6 minutes proper before it had reached a foregone conclusion, total game duration around the same 7 minutes that the one you posted took.
I also find it funny to read stuff like having a 150+ win streak is completely fine, but the MMR world where a player cannot kill 600 players in a row without even just 1 escaping through the gates (again while playing a lower-tier killer), is the "dark times" side of the game's history.
Ormond is definitely an imbalanced map that even after its rework still favours survivors, certainly against "M1" killers. But he also made a few time-inefficient mistakes here. He spent too much time crouching around, the map is just too big for that and it while it will usually not matter against your average survivors, against players that actually pump out gens you can't be wasting time like that. Likewise he kept breaking off chases, which was especially weird after he hit Jill at her gen. He saw her run toward center map but for some reason decided to check a corner of the map where there wasn't even a gen. I suppose he was hoping to find Leon? That's an unnecessary gamble to be taking there. Had he committed to the chase he might very well have downed her in time to RBT her, weasel a gen and get something more going from there. Her Syringe obviously didn't help though, neither did the fact that Leon got lucky and got his trap off first try (usually Pig benefits from big maps at least insofar that it takes survivors a fair bit of time to traverse the map to get to boxes). The survivor spawns also seem to have been rather unfortunate here - his Corrupt obviously blocked gens on the other side of the map, yet it seems the entire team spawned at shack, on his side. I would say it's still a mistake of his not to instantly check his side and the uncorrupted gens, especially given that shack spawns are very common on Ormond, but either way, he got unlucky with his Corrupt/survivor spawns too, and as a result barely got value out of Corrupt which otherwise can easily delay the first gen pops for a minute or more.
I also want to point out that it's not unlikely that there was actually cheating going on in that match, as he himself suggests. The first two gens must have both been the Claudettes duoing, but then in the barely 2 minutes that followed, they managed to finish another two gens despite one of the Claudettes having to save Leon, Leon having to take his RBT off, the other Claudette having been chased and then healed, and Jill being chased in the meantime. And then they seemingly trio'd the last gen. Kinda suspicious, especially considering the time it takes survivors to traverse the map to search for and get to gens. But not absolutely impossible I suppose, if they have perfect pathing, knowledge and coordination to get to every gen and only spend time on gens rather than multiple people going for a save and whatnot.
Ik you can't watch his vids but most of his games go like this as you heard him say in he vid that was the 3rd game in a row where gens where done I'm 4 mins
They other vids he posts where he stomps he hand picks his vids and wins just like every other YouTube to look good come on now that's obvious
I never said 150 wins was ok I said he was the best pig in the world and be is so when the best in the world struggles to get a single kill that says something don't you think
He crouched for maybe 15-20 secs really dude? Are you saying pigs should never use the power they were given
After he hit Jill he looked for Leon because she was running to main building and both God pallets were up so that would've been a 50-90 sec chase I wouldn't call that a mistake definitely wasn't gonna get a rbt trap on before the gens popped and even still what if she also gets it off first try?
I agree that was a really suspicious game but I'm not confident enough to call them cheaters

I never said it can't, I simply said in it's current form it is balanced when you consider the fact that it CAN be baited out, not every section inside a map consists of tiles. There are actually sections where other exhaustion perks would be more optiomal. Thus making DH not a viable perk in those situations which (again) are common in every match.

It doesn't work in short sized loops if the killer positions themselves accordingly. Many times I have mind-tricked survivors into thinking I am running a certain way, change my position at the last second and they usually end up running into a wall or overshoot their DH where I am inside the pallet and they cannot throw it down.
Also, If the killer has bloodlust and is a ranged killer no amount of DH will help that survivor out.
To bad there is a lot of m1 only killers in the game right :/

Like the inexperienced killers who do not know how to deal with DH. Gotcha.
I love how people say others don't know how to deal with dead hard when there is no counter when good players use it for distance your hilarious lmaoo

Exactly, if the devs just look at the result screen, the killer won
This is exactly why I hate sbmm
I think in one if the dev streams awhile back when they revealed it was just kills and escape based
Someone brought up but what if I unhook 500 teammates and do 900 gens and heal 300 health states and I die does that mean I'm less skilled then the claudette hiding in a bush
And the dev had the audacity to say something along the lines of, and don't take this as a direct quote but I believe I got it mostly right
"Yea but wouldn't it be great if you did all that and survived"
Smdh ridiculous dude

Only have the hex totems light up until they start to get used.
I actually really like this idea

Awwwww you mean it's just a wish list?
I ain't been playing that long and I don't even know what patch number they are currently on. But all those things listed would be excellent changes.
Yea it's just fan ideas
Unfortunately homie I'm sorry to break it to you but don't expect anything anywhere near this level of balance from bhvr
After all they nerfed pig a long time ago a already weak killer and more recently they nerfed deathslinger and Wraith when they had just buffed Wraith and made him decent 3 months before they reverted the changes lol

Console needs extreme help especially in the killer side it runs perfectly ok on survivor on ps5 of course !
But the match making times on survivor are zzz the main reason console killers are struggling plz I beg if your playing survivor just take a moment to respect your killers it truly is muchly needed atm 🐷💖
Matchmaking times for survivor is taking longer and longer cause killers are sick of 2 boons and all 5 gens being done in under 5 mins

That's my point, the survivors had full control but botched it. Devs use the outcome data without context; so by data alone the killer over performed despite it being the survivors fault.
Oh my bad I thought you were saying the reverse sorry for the misunderstanding yes in that case I completely agree

Yeah console still to this day lags Hella on hooks and unhooks and killers using their power
There's 100s of videos documenting this for years
And still nothing is done love to see it :/

That's the thing, he could've played that game perfectly and he still would've lost. There are many unwinnable games at top MMR with how unbalanced the game is.
Tbf he couldn't have played it much better what else could he have done chase someone else for 30-50 secs and lose the same amount of gens?

Sadly the data here suggests the survivors need more help to leverage a 2k balance. Devs need to be looking at the context of a match not just the outcomes.
Did you watch the video? They could've easily got a 3 escape I don't think they needed more help if you actually watched it they just threw the game

Seems like glorious Pig gameplay. So let’s see they said Legion and Ghostface were next in big changes. So Pig’s gonna suck for a while.
Cmwinter is actually the best pig player in the world or widely regarded as the best because before mmr he had a 150+ win streak or something like that so it feels bad to see even the best with a weak char struggle

What I found funny is how cluelessly they played the basement after smashing the gens out that quickly
Quite often I've found even games against very new Survivors can quickly become stressful, simply by the fact you can't be everywhere at once, and you're always gonna let some gens slip through, and sometimes the 3-gen fails early.
Had a few games against obviously new Survivors, felt bad and eased up a bit for a minute or two, then boom, 3 gens pop across the map and you're screwed.
Yea easy 3 man escape they just got greedy and played bad at the end even though they did great at slamming gens
