As a survivor main (I feel like I always need to preface with this now to show no bias), TT is fine. I hate to go against it, cause usually I’m a pig magnet who gets downed first or second, but it adds variety to the game. Pig is not popular any more, and the few I do run into nowadays don’t usually run it. When it does happen however, I just chalk it up to bad luck and move on to the next match.
-
Like everything else in this game, it’s the coordinated SWF that’s the problem. He’s fine against solo que players. You won’t win every single match against solo que, but you’ll have more fun and win more of your games against them.
IMO, certain killers suffer more than others when facing SWF. Trickster is one of them. Have the same high tier- versatile killer face off against a good SWF several times, and his losses will more likely be due to using Trickster, opposed to wins using another char. Have this same killer vs. different solo que groups using Trickster, he will do just fine.
Buffing Trickster to compete with SWF just makes it worse for solo que (another “like everything else in this game).” Just look at the Wraith debacle. Solo que wants a nerf, killers still want more to battle SWF. The imbalance continues.

Shards should be in the premium rift. Ideally we would want them in the free track, but that would hurt cosmetic revenue so that would not be feasible to BHVR as a business model.

Just for you, I screenshotted a bunch of threads that are right beneath yours as of right now, just as they are so you don't accuse me of cherry picking. Out of the ten threads that managed to fit into a single screenshot, six of them are dedicated to complaining about the game, I even went as far as to mark them for you, since you somehow struggle on your own.
Oof. “Clowning” indeed.

Survivor main here- i believe NOED is fine. It sucks when you or your teammates get caught by it with a bad killer, but it’s not overly used IMO. At least not so much on a high level. Rank reset taught me to always do totems, and I have a decent understanding of their possible locations- on half the maps. Devs keep it fresh by moving some of them around every chapter & mid-chapter update.
NOED (just like Bloodwarden), adds a “what if/I wonder” element to the game, and I’m cool with it. Running totem builds (helps you understand their general location for when you DON’T use em) and destroying all totems, escaping, and seeing that the killer had NOED at the postgame screen is VERY satisfying!
-
Smh. 3 survivors equip flashlights- ######### do you think is going to happen? I always bet on either lightborn or Franklin’s. Usually it’s Franklin’s.
If I have a flashlight equipped and load into a lobby where two ppl already have them, I remove mine. Not worth getting caught with your pants down trying to blind the killer as he approaches menacingly for a free hit.
People and their entitlement these days. To getting worse, I swear.
-
Now imagine dealing with players like this as TEAMMATES. This is what SBMM gives me, to go against red rank 1-3 killers. I play nothing like those asshats.
-
Stealth nerfs to the environment: barrels, reagent offerings, less lockers, bad pallets, increased breakable doors, less windows, and purposely placed protruding structures at the corners of loops to mess you up as you look back- while trying to hug loops.
-
Oh and the perk Bond helps you to see your teammates auras when they are within close proximity but you do not have line of sight. So if you see your friend hiding on the other side of the shack when you are going to loop it- tell him to ######### leave or get unfriended!
-
Communication is how you work around that. Tell him to get out of your damn way when you are being chased. Let him know the killer is on you and it’s safe for him to leave the area.
Btw, the term for what your friend is doing is considered “Sandbagging” in the DBD community. “Body Blocking” is actually a good thing in this game, and it’s when your teammates body block the killer from hitting you or putting you on a hook. Nine times out of ten that results in those teammates taking a hit.
-
I’ll keep saying it: our community needs to punish campers. Just do the gens and let the 3 escape. Person on hook should Martyr for the cause. That’s the only way they’ll stop. One hook every game while they just stand there won’t be fun. That definitely deserves all 3 at exit gate teabagging up until the last second.

No longer will I get teams where all 3 go down within 30seconds, have people selfcare through devour, NOED, sloppy and I certainly won't get survivors never touch gens walking round the edge of the map.
I seriously dont get how people hate the idea of SBMM. I assume its because they're in ranks they shouldn't be due to the bad ranking atm?
SBMM doesnt need to be perfect, but anything is better than the current ranking
My biggest gripe with it is, it mostly gives me low rank teammates against a high rank killer in the first few matches. I hate it. Before this SBMM when we were able to see our ranks, only me and the killer were red ranks while my 3 teammates were green or lower. And they PLAYED like it. No game sense at all, not noobs, just plain bad at the game. The killer is already good, and these scrubs are pulling you off the hook before the killer can take 5 steps. Now 9 times out of 10 red ranks don’t tunnel, so they would go after them. That was unnecessary. They took aggro for nothing and would go down quickly. There would be 20 min games where I would die first, and have the most points. CONSTANTLY. That was infuriating. Imagine getting this matchmaking system that pairs you up with bad players, and when you die- you see you have more points than the 3 left alive. With the closest having a 3K difference, and the furthest didn’t even make it to ten thousand. 😑 Players constantly DC’ng for the dumbest things, just screwing you over while you keep further slipping into matchmaking abyss, until the game says ok he sucks- he belongs here. Now the real fun begins since I’m getting bad killers who camp and tunnel on top of the bad teammates. Can’t get out any time soon. I would have to endure a lot of bad games to get back to where I was before the SBMM- that’s not fun. ELO hell.
-
The yellow ones do seem to be a little more elusive than the blue ones, IMO. But they’re there in your matches.

Although now that I read the above comment, that won't be the case, thankfully.

switch, NA, late night, ofc crossplay. I have 1hr+ waits without
DON’T PLAY KILLER LATENIGHT IN NA! That’s why killer que times are so good- too many sweaty 4 man squads and not enough killers. In the morning for NA (right now), it’s the opposite. Survivor que times are excellent and playing killer is less sweaty. You still get the occasional 2 man SWF and one or both are tryhadin Smurf’s- but no red ranks.
-
I feel like it’s a little too strong- especially with Nurse using infectious fright. Great way to prevent hook blocking or punish active saboteurs, though.
-
This is why they should have never got rid of the original Ruin. And undying shouldn’t have been nerfed either. And there should be a perk to add more totems to the map like survivors have the coins to add more chests to the map. But fear not OP, Pinhead is bringing a gen slow down perk with him and It seems decent.

I never thought I'd see the day where Hoarder is actually a good perk on at least one killer...
Hoarder is great on Nemesis as well. He sees everyone who grabs a vaccine.

This would hurt new players…especially if all four survivors are running it.
-
Wow, I never knew the ban can go up to 24 hours! Does anyone know what the cap is?
-
If any of you are in SWF and one of them has a habit of rage quitting when ######### doesn’t go there way- you need to check that #########. I used to run with a squad and got tired of the “main” guy doing that and called him on his bullshit. I was the newest member. I told him to suck it up. I stopped playing with them for a few weeks and then he eventually apologized and he never rage quitted whenever I played with them after that. During my hiatus from them I noticed I was pipping like crazy and made it to purple ranks on my own. I enjoyed the concept of leveling up instead because the teammates were better and so were the killers. I didn’t mind losing to players who were actually skilled and didn’t need to camp.
I stopped playing with those guys after a while and before you know it, I was in the red ranks via solo que. Got to the point where I no longer played with them but kept them on my friends list. They forever stayed stuck in the lower green ranks, while I climbed out. They were all day 1 players to, while I came a month after Legion dropped.
I say this because when I look at OP’s screenshot, it just tells me someone is a big baby and the other 3 are sheep following. Don’t be sheep. Speak up. They’re just going to drag you and keep you down in lower ranks with them because of their sense of entitlement. Fellas, don’t be white knights either, playing with a Princess who can’t handle being downed first, so she ragequits and expects you to follow in protest.
Sorry you had to deal with that OP- especially in a PTB. So stupid. People’s egos, man. They know they have nothing to lose. They’re idiots though, because that’s the best time to learn how to deal with him. Why wait till he goes live and try to figure him out then when players like you have become acclimated to his power and play style?
-
Damn, how did y’all get teammates? The quality of mine got worse and the killers remained good! When the killers sucked, they just camped or tunneled.

Smh thanks for the info. I’m having a rough 24 hours between getting spammed to Midwich Elementary every two games and players DC’ng.
-
You’ll get used to it and adapt, OP. To the point where you’re like the rest of us working on the final gen and you say to yourself: “I bet this scrub has NOED. He feels like a NOED killer.” Sure enough when you that notification pop up on the right as he downs one of your teammates, you just roll your eyes. If you yourself fall victim to it- you’ll just let out an “of course.” You won’t even care any more. True story. Just keep playing.

Because it DOES matter. If you are doing totems, you're still at risk of being downed before escaping. If you're just sticking in the exit gate, not planning on doing anything at all even if all your teammates have escaped, that is what matters.
I gladly accept survivors to stick around if they plan on doing totems, if they plan on healing up to go for a hatch escape. But that is not where this thread is about, it's about players who, fully healthy, wait on top of the line, even if you're across the entire map untill you walked all the way over to their gate, and that's often not even good enough, as they will wait untill you can physically touch them to leave.
Do what I do- put my character in the basement, then come here and browse, go on Twitter, get a drink, or bathroom break. Don’t let them stress you out. That’s what they want.
-
Get rid of them and fix the game’s algorithm to place you in each map evenly.
-
Everything you’ve purchased prior to Nov. 17th, 2021 in relation the the Stranger Things DLC will remain intact- on the acct. it was purchased on. Hawkins Lab will no longer be in the game unfortunately.

I think the community and the game will be fine. Like losing a good co-worker who is moving on to bigger & better things, it’ll suck at first- but we’ll adjust.
It’s funny how I despise all indoor maps (except RPD) but I still don’t want to lose Hawkins. Even though I roll my eyes every time I see that HAL Laboratory offering, I don’t want it to go.

Right now it's a toss up who's actually in who's games. Returning players from months past are still not bad players, so there's a healthy mix of good and bad players at "rank 20." What I'm worried about is new accounts from high tier players getting into the queue with actual new players, because SBMM has no data on them.
But that’s what I’m saying, can’t high tier players make new accounts now and start at level 20 then stomp?
-
I’m confused- couldn’t this be done now with the same effect? With more desired results for the offender(s) even?
-

I don’t understand the complaint threads about Hillbilly- do you guys play Survivor? There are some REALLY good Billy’s out there. I’ll admit he’s no longer a popular character, but when I saw him pre-SBMM, he was a force to be reckoned with. A lot of Billy mains can kick ass even without his best turning add-ons. They know their maps, and are able to anticipate movement. Very seldom to they bump into anything. They use info and gen slowdown perks. Rarely do they M1. Seen enough 4K with just the chainsaw in Red Ranks. No face camping and no tunneling needed.
I imagine however, like most of the killer cast- he struggles against gawd tier 4 man squads. They somehow can bait/misdirect last second and avoid insta downs, even in tight quarters. I’m sure you’ll get a few of those who can do that in Solo que as well, but then you need to realize it’s not best to continue the chase and save them for last. Go for someone weaker.
-
@rha said:
Well these people sadly do exist and somebody's got to play against them. In the "old" rank-based systems the really hard tunnelers who did their best to remove one survivor from the game before the first gen gets done, and killers who were facecamping at five gens that I encountered, were mostly rank 1, so it's not like the new system could be any worse in classifying them. In fact the reason why I play very, very little survivor is that I can keep myself in the middle of the rank range and don't need to go against red rank killers so I don't need to waste half of my build on "essentials to get to play the game" BT and DS and can run variety builds because most mid-rank killers don't camp or tunnel.
I would totally agree that it is hardly skillful with how boring games some killers get their pity kill and still maintain rank 1, but if you assign them a low "skill" score they'll just get 4k after 4k against new players who have little chance of countering this kind of play properly.
Face camping and tunneling at Rank 1?? My experience pre-SBMM was the opposite. Red rank killers were skilled enough not to have to resort to those cheap tactics. They could legit 4K treating every recently unhooked survivor like they had DS/BT (ignore them). It was the rank 6 players and below that tunneled and camped. When I first got the game it took forever to get out from that elo hell. Now I’m struggling to get out again because of this SMBB. Not sure if it’s a placebo, but it feels like the rank reset from 2 days ago made it worse. Maybe it doesn’t really effect the SBMM test, idk.
Personally, I rather get owned by a sliding rank 1 Blight than face camped by a level 8 Bubba because I ran him for 3 or 4 gens.
-
I hate this system. August 16th can’t come fast enough.

@FeelsBadMan said:
I just made this account to give my "feedback" about the SBMM.
I am playing solo queue ONLY, basically since forever. I am used to a mixed batch of team mates in red ranks but today was something else. I depipped every.single.game from 1 back to nearly rank 5. 90% of my surv games end with 4-5 gens left and everyone dead. I mean if i am not that great of a survivor, fine but then gimme a "meh" killer as well and not god Nurses who land every single bling, Blights with Tinkerer, Pop and Ruin etc.
Is this matchmaking stays, I am either gonna fully switch to killer or uninstall. This is just complete unfun.
This. My experience has, and will continue to be bad with MMR. I almost created a complaint thread after one of my games earlier, that’s how infuriating the experience has been. I had to calm myself down. Now I understand why players come here to vent.
Why are my teammates so bad and the killer is so good? This doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m thrown into games with survivors DC’ng for the littlest things, committing suicide on hook out of frustration because of the sweaty killer, and ppl IN CHASE pulling me off the hook in front of the killer without borrowed time in a dead zone. So we both get downed. This is not fun. This reminds me of when I used to be in green ranks & lower. I completely forgot how bad it is down there. If I’m going to get potato teammates, at the very least- give me potato killers. This is a cakewalk for killers. I’m literally seeing some of them going for their adept achievements cause they know how ridiculous this is.
@FeelsBadMan sorry you had to endure the B.S as well. I too depipped from high rank 4 to mid rank 5 pretty quickly, after today. I’m trying very hard to give this stupid system a chance, but having to endure so many bad games so hopefully I can get back to where I was before, is ridiculous. Like OP said, this is ELO HELL and to climb out can be frustrating and not fun.
-
Well, hopefully the SBMMR will benefit you. Personally I don’t want it and I don’t have faith in it, but if I’m wrong- it’s purpose is to help alleviate the nuances of leveling up, that irks you.
-
No, I do not.
-
Question- has there ever been two licensed killer DLC’s back to back?
-
Please don’t tell me you created this thread because of Paulie E’s video. The time stamps for both match up pretty closely...

I think it's more of a combo for people who are carried by survivor's ignorance about totem locations, which won't happen against very competent survivors. If you want to win against the best teams, I highly suggest avoiding those together. Once you start getting good people to go against, it'll become very inconsistent and easily countered by players who run totem-finding perks.
You understood what OP was getting at?? 😳
