Here's a picture for those wondering, as I was about to make a thread myself.

OMG well played BHVR. Slick as hell. Maybe this ruse will help me cope with the SBMM…

  • @LordRegal said:

Correct - 2 people on the gen are technically less efficient than those two people on different gens. There's a slight penalty to speed for every survivor on it so you don't go at full on quadruple speed when all four survivors are on the same gen. It goes very fast then, don't get me wrong, but not a full on quadruple speed.

Yea I remember when they changed this- I didn’t like it at all and still don’t. I don’t need to know from the game’s TECHNICAL standpoint that MY progress for the gen is going slower, when in fact having two people on the same gen makes the repair go faster. Especially since perks like Thano and Dying Light exist. IMO it should go back to the yellow bar when two ppl are on a gen, and then when thano or dying light are in play, the bar is red regardless if it’s one or two ppl.

Of course I have accepted it and adapted over the years, but it’s a little thing that still irks me every now and again. Especially since killers are complaining of “gen rushing.” Give a visual incentive to stay on the same gen as opposed to the opposite.

Nah, competent solo queue survivors can easily dominate competent killers.

@TwitchyMike I already stated they’re two different experiences. It’s well known here. You’ve seen the threads. Killers have much more enjoyable games playing against solo que than they do SWF. That’s not true in every case, but it is for the majority of the time. Solo que is more balanced than SWF.

@Tsulan Notice how I purposely didn’t say COMPETENT solo que survivors lol? It’s not common to have all 4 survivors on point. Don’t get me wrong, it happens from time to time, but again that’s not the solo que experience. Plenty of threads on here attest to that. I imagine maybe Red Rank 1 survivors have that often, but they’re the top 1% of the community.

  • This game is not survivor sided- it’s SWF sided. Two different experiences in my opinion. Competent killers can dominate solo que, but get destroyed by competent SWF.

It is the correct thing to do. Why waste something that will never return?

Personally I think everyone is just trolling here, having fun. I know I was. I’m not a day one player, so I have a TON of characters to prestige to level III. In that process, I like to use all the items before I prestige that character to the next tier. It’s going to be a while before I get to those who I leveled up during the event, and use up their cakes. But eventually it’ll happen. I imagine others are waiting for another double BP event, or will occasionally throw a cake out here and there, like they would an escape cake. To each his own.

  • Yea I hate it too. Ver frustrating. Wish we could get something to help distinguish, but I totally get why it’s like that. Gotta chalk it up to map advantage. And technically another point goes to SWF who can just tell their buddies- “he’s downstairs/upstairs.” 🙄

  • @GeneralV said:

    The cakes must be hoarded.

    This is the way.

    Yes. Lmao…

  • @Junylar said:

About those "legit cheaters" someone mentioned earlier: just had a game against a survivor who used an "endless window" (!!!) cheat. Yeah, you heart that right: not speedhack, not godmode, not "self-resurrection". Just a cheat which never allows the entity to block the window the survivor is vaulting. He vaulted the same window 6 times in a row, all within the same chase, and the window stayed open. I was able to down him during the endgame and he didn't pick himself up. I guess he would have "unhooked" himself if I had been camping, but I just didn't care. Of course all 4 of them escaped. And of course I haven't recorded anything, since it's a game released in 2016, and not in 2004, to have quick in-game recording features, and I didn't bother alt-tabbing and launching obs either.

And he didn't try to show it off in any way: he was just looping a strong loop like a usual player, except a small detail that the window would never block.

Just wanted you to know that there are a great variety of cheaters out there. EAC is doing pretty good job so far.

That sucks man. I’m booting up the game while reading your post, smh lol. Sorry you had to deal with that.

  • Triple? Wow. Nice. And that’s pretty cool how they made it character specific in relation to the SAW theme. Yea, mobile definitely did it better. Killers don’t care for the game because of all the pallets and the two god pallets downstairs. And survivors don’t care for it because it has all the nuances of an indoor map (two floors, good totem placement, harder to find gens, misleading terror radius, etc.).

  • @Clevite said:

Then, we would have even more scared survivors hiding when Alert procs,,lol.

But seriously, it would be strong with Bond. My current solo build is Bond and Kindred, and honestly, it just kills me inside every time I see what my teammates are doing instead.

Yea Bond has me shaking my head a lot of times. If it’s a fellow Xbox player, I’ll message them and call them out on their B.S. “Are you going to help us out or keep hiding in the corner?” That usually lights a fire. And then all their chases end short & they die quickly. Then I realize why they were hiding lmao.

  • Yea Wake Up saved my ass a few times for 1 v 1’s. I had quite a few close calls ending in me getting downed on the way out the trial, seeing NOED pop up on the right! 😳😮‍💨

It’s one true counter tho- whisperers. Forget about it. If hatch is closed, bend over and spread them cheeks.

  • I like it being omitted. Only hearing the sounds of the woods & the crackling fire is eerie.

I have played a lot of nemesis games, those zombois are amazing and do great work in a really balanced way.

I agree. I don’t get the complaints against them either. The devs did a great job with their spawns and A.I. I think a lot of Nemesis players don’t see the intangibles zombies do for them. They chase survivors off objectives, forcing players to “walk the dog” wasting precious seconds that could have been used on a gen or hex totem. Players are so busy in chase with one survivor, they probably miss their zombies landing hits on or infecting other survivors. They’re very good.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

As a survivor its more than one Meg in the lobby. I'm sorry to any competent Meg players here, I don't mean to offend, but in my experience the majority of Meg players are total potatoes.

As a killer it would be keys. I really don't feel like equipping Franklins and then having to babysit the key to make sure they don't snatch it back.

Yea I feel you on this. I don’t have good experiences with Megs who have her year 1 & 2 cosmetics. Not sure if her Tennis skirt falls in those years but I don’t see good Megs wear that. I don’t like to discriminate but geez there are a lot of bad Meg players who should have never made it to red ranks.

I have encountered multiple blatant hackers and reported them over these time and most of them have they steam profile still clean so don't waste your time, it will get ignored unless the automatic anticheat detects them.

That’s unfortunate. I submitted one earlier to the BHVR team, though.

The approval Problem happened to me aswell a few times.

Btt: did the killer use whispers?

I didn’t stick around to find out. I clipped the shenanigans then DC’ed. Wasn’t about to be messed with in that manner, for someone’s amusement. In hindsight I should have stuck around to see how the game played out and what else hacks he could do. Via spectating of course.

  • @BradQuackson said:

At rank 1 Killer I get queues in 7-10 seconds. You survivors must have it ######### baaaaad. And I go against ranks like 4-7 because they obviously can't find a match and then they lose the game in 5 minutes

It’s because a lot of the Rank 1 & 2 survivors are too busy being jerks, smurfing the lower rank killers on alternate accounts.

I made a build with smash hit and power struggle. Other then that I think smash hit is a stand alone perk that doesn't synergize with much.

Power Struggle? I like that a lot. Hmmmm maybe Lightweight, Flip Flop, & Tenacity. LW ofc can be subbed out (Vigil)? But putting smash hit in a Power Struggle build is awesome. Purposely position to get yourself downed by a pallet, and if others happen to be around- the killer will be nervous to pick you up right away giving you time to build meter. Get picked up, BOOM- power struggle & smash hit combined for MAJOR distance! I like this one a lot- thanks! Going to use that soon after I prestige a couple of more chars.

  • @EQWashu said:

@KerJuice yup, you're fine; it looks like the spam filter grabbed it. Its been sent through now, and the spam filter shouldn't cause you any more issues!

    Awesome! Thank you!

  • Very rare. When it happens, it’s either the killer and the other player(s) made a pact in the lobby before the game started- or someone thought I intentionally tried to sand bag them. But I usually don’t find out the latter until end game.

  • I don’t think these synergize well, bro. Everything is random like you said. What kind of data are you looking for to report back? Fun? Usefulness? Escape percentage going up, down, or remaining the same?

  • @Lordofweed said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/270636/hacking

There are 2 Types of Hackers (in pretty much any Game):

1 The "I dont care if i get banned - Full Aimbot, 300 mph Speedhack or whatever" - Hacker

    2 The "legit Hacker"

I guess you faced the first Type of Hacker. I saw that hatches spamming Hack before on YouTube and its ridicoulus. I dont know if i would play that Match tbh.

There are also a lot more "legit" Hacker in the Game than you might think. They give themselfes like 1 or 2% extra Movement Speed"-Hack". and other subtile Cheats like always fast vault or such Crap. You shoudl keep your eye way more on that kind of Hacker, as they can be very difficult to spot. I recommend watching one or 2 Videos about that so you can spot them better in the Future and report them to keep the Game clean.

Sadly you cannot do more than report Hackers, but dont Forget to also report them directly to Steam. For that go to their Steam Profile and click on report. So if they wont get banned in DBD, they will get banned on Steam and also cant play anymore!

Thanks for the info…yea he was definitely number 1. Just blatant with it. Yea number 2 is very scary. Can you still report someone on steam if you don’t have a Steam I.D and played against them via console? Steam doesn’t even give you access to comment on their forums if you’ve never purchased/played a game from them, I believe.

  • @Zokenay said:

So with the pallet changes making sure BS hits trough pallets no longer exist, i would say SH is considerably better than before, i think it still somewhat niche compared to other speed perks like Lithe and Sprint Burst, but good to see it can actually be used now.

    @dspaceman20 said:

I always thought smash hit was good. It really helps you get away when you need too.

I need to start using it again and create a build with it. I forgot how decent that perk is.

So if they see you behind Stones or walls, it could be a good headset or they could have a stretched resolution (4:3). So Survivors can see over Objects and Walls. This is nothing new to be honest and its very sad.

So if its only that it could also be a streched resolution.

I don’t think it allows them to see that far out over walls, though…across the map I mean.

Btw I tried to respond to your earlier post but I received a notification stating it needed an approval?? @EQWashu Do you know why that is? There was nothing negative or controversial in my response. Just regular chat…

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403689#Comment_2403689

I think the most popular hack is constant survivors aura reading "wallhack". I've met a ton of people who somehow see you from the other side of the map without BBQ or similar perks, who see you behind stones and threes while you never show yourself, etc. Recently I've seen a guy who used BBQ, but was able to see me while I was in a locker literally across the map. When I called him out, he started making up BS about "I just wanted to check a gen or something", even though I never touched that gen he was talking about. There are quite a few cheaters in the game if you count all those "legit" guys who actually try to hide.

That’s unfortunate. Smh. That Bubba did have wall hacks, because after he downed all 3 of my teammates in quick succession, he started throwing hatchets at the wall I was behind from 50 yards out. I know he didn’t see me.

Off Topic: I tried to respond to someone earlier and I received a notification in the bottom left stating that my comment would be posted once it was approved?? What the hell? What’s that about? It was nothing negative or controversial. Just regular chat…

  • It’s not the same for console, bro. Que times are much longer. Someone even made a thread about it a month ago.

  • @Yatol said:

    unfortunately

    Lol where to?

  • @Marigoria said:

I have only seen around 3 hackers in my 4.5k hours. Havent seen one in a long time.

You can just turn crossplay off

You know que times will sky rocket. Not a viable option, unfortunately. I’d rather reluctantly walk away.

  • Survivor: Pipped & escaped, or pipped and died having an active game of winning chases, being altruistic, and doing objectives. If you black pipped and escaped- Draw. Black pipped or lower AND died, definitely a loss.

‘Killer: Pipped and at least got a 3k. Pipped but 2 escaped, draw. Snow balled the whole team on one or second hook due to their bad decisions? Win. Example- basement trapper or Pyramid Head getting an injured crowd on a gen with Rights of Judgement (?).

  • The DC penalty is back?

I’m on Series X and haven’t had any problems.

  • ESPECIALLY if he kidnaps you off of an objective and you get that high music note!

An honorable mention is most killers with Tinkerer, while walls are obscuring your FOV, and you’re not aware the killer has it.

  • I’m planning an anti-camp build on Laurie when I get her to Prestige III:

    • Camaraderie
    • Kindred
    • Breakdown
    • Decisive Strike

If the saving teammate has BT, that’s even better.

  • I don’t envy you. The few that I’ve ran into the past couple of days were really good and annoying to go against. The best Huntresses are the patient ones who hold their hatchets & wait to see what you’re going to do. Once I hear that long awkward pause, I know I’m screwed. “Holding W” means just that- I’m holding that Huntress’ W for her because running away zig zagging, straight, or faking left/right means absolutely nothing to this marksman.

  • NOED is fine as is. I don’t like being on the receiving end of it- especially with killers who played badly. I feel like it’s a crutch. But it’s actually a necessary evil the game needs. NOED gets less popular the higher you climb in rank, and thank goodness for that.

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

When they start healing you they'll see the bar, that's the only hint unfortunately

    This.

No icon like BT or WMI. From my experience, most Jills keep it on.

  • For the players who flail when they want someone to come get them, they need to stop when they actually see a fellow survivor on the way. So many times I have been pulled off a a gen and someone else was already going before me. Or I’d have a build with Bond and I see someone else get off their gen while I’m closer and already in route, because the entitled jerk on hook wants you to arrive quicker. Don’t even get me started on those who try to Kobe in front off you after pulling two people off gens. 🤬

That’s solo que’s biggest weakness- everyone leaving their gens to go for a save.

Very disappointed to hear ppl do this because they’re bored. It’s confusing and misinterpreted enough, without an unnecessary factor added to the mix. No disrespect to those who do, it’s just that excessive flailing really grinds my gears.

  • I say run thrill of the hunt and haunted grounds, and only those two. That’ll teach those pesky survivors. 😆

  • I kid you not, every time I say to myself: ‘hmmmm, I haven’t seen such & such in ages,” just like clockwork I run into that killer within the next 24 hours. Every single time, Without fail lol.

But to answer your question, Nurse & Hag.

  • @some_guy1 said:

    he doesn't need any changes

Agreed. Survivor main that doesn’t care to go against him, but I still say he’s in a good place. Leave him be.

  • @Altarf said:

For me, it's honestly just not 4 man splitting up on gens and not sticking to separate gens for the whole match.

Whether I win or lose doesn't really matter in terms of fun, but knowing that 4 gens are progressing at once and you can only stop one of them is so tilting. Especially when 3 of those gens pop soon after hooking your first survivor, and the survivors continue to split up on the remaining generators. That's what I consider genrushing, and it's not fun for anyone involved. Only real counter you can do to it is mass slugging, and nobody likes mass slugging.

I like long-ish games, rather than 5 minute ones - regardless of which side wins. Never understood the fascination with 4 man slugging and hyper-efficient gen repairs. Do you really want to just go back to the lobby?

I don’t understand the communities’ complaint against “gen rushing.” What are players who are not in chase supposed to do? The only other objectives are totems (which Hex users complain also get done too quickly), and chests.

  • I was considering making a thread on this (still might), in hopes of getting the community to rally together and make it an official signal. I haven’t been here since Day 1 unfortunately. I started right after Legion dropped. My interpretation was waving your arms meant the killer left and to the best of your knowledge, it’s safe to come get me. I’m shocked to see all the responses in here stating once upon a time it actually meant the killer is camping, do gens. That’s interesting. Now I get why some players were waving their arms and the killer was still there. I thought the player on hook was being entitled. Yea there’s big confusion on this, and it hurts solo que a little. I always appreciate Kindred when players run it.

  • Yea this happened to me yesterday with a Freddy. I had TWO teammates try to body block (they were not very good at it, unfortunately) but he was adamant about ruining my experience. This is why everyone should play both survivor and killer. People wouldn’t do that crap if they knew how it feels. Same thing with toxic survivors- if they played killer they wouldn’t purposely try to annoy the killer with pallet tea bagging, noise notification spam, and flashlight clicking.

  • I spend money on DBD- the cosmetics is really what keeps me coming back the most. Helps me tolerate the nuances of the game.

  • I’ve seen how some of your dress your characters… let’s just say I don’t mind the sets. 😆

  • Xbox here- yea I got it as well.

  • @xenotimebong said:

Yup, same here. I commit to pretending I’ve gone afk and they usually get bored and move away far enough that I can then run away.

The fact that this happens often enough to know this works is depressing, but the devs have never seemed that interested in removing the ability to grief other players from the game, to be honest.

Yea, it is quite sad- isn’t it? They just want to see you making an attempt to get out and then they get their jollies off. Smh.

  • I don’t know but at the very least $200.
