  • “######### your borrowed time. Wait till he leaves.”

  • That’s the whole point of Daily Rituals - to get you to play that character and add diversity to the player pool. In this case they really want to bump up his presence.

  • I don’t mind them now because they’re not popular and they add diversity to the game. Unlike Trickster and Nemmie, they are formidable. Couldn’t stand them at launch. Took a lot of L’s during the height of their popularity.

  • No, because every once in a blue I’ll run into that killer who wants to meme that he is chill or bad at the game, then ends up having NOED after the gens are done. Then he opens the exit gate and tries to get a late Bloodwarden by camping the downed survivor. I don’t trust any killer that seems that bad at the game, for me to take it easy on him.

Its the big point of free speech. Let me say what I feel like saying whether its particularly nice or not. If other people can't see it then wonderful, I got out my little gamer rage for that match from whether it was camping, tunneling, flashlights, gen rushing, or whatever else. If they got to see my insult great, they know they're scum. If they didn't see it then cool they move on happily. Everyone moves on how they wanted to. If I instead see something stupid and not even an insult or a profanity get censored, now I'm annoyed, maybe I was already annoyed, maybe now I wanna be toxic because censors are dumb. (stupid jump I know but hang with me) Now instead of saying something in a chat where people can press continue or even keep a censor on to be toxic I'm in an actual game, camping, tunneling, ruining someone elses game and making them hate the game.

I can see why you would be upset at the end of a match, but please understand everything you just mentioned is exactly why BHVR has the system in place. You’re entitled to your free speech, but it’s their platform and their entitled to protect their “sensitive” players (as you would call them). I’m sure there is something in the EULA we had to consent to regarding communication. That box we had to check off before we can play.

‘And think about what you’re saying- you want to be able to curse out players in chat for poor performance or scummy play, and it doesn’t matter if they have their filters on to see it?? That’s not healthy, hermano.

  • Are you confident it’s fully downloaded? Did you check the status from the PS4 menu? If so and it is, restart the game. If that doesn’t work, restart the console, boot up another game and let it load for 15 seconds, then boot up DBD. If THAT doesn’t work, you may need to delete and then reinstall the game.

What pros? "I didn't get called the b-word"? If people are too sensitive to see words then they can press continue and not see the chat, if they want to chat but not see that stuff then leave the censor on if that were an option. There's no downside to letting people say what they want other than people getting their feelings hurt for leaving censor on and even then thats on those people.

The reverse can work as well. Those same ppl could argue it’s not that serious to have a clean word censored. “What’s the big deal- find a synonym.” Turning it on or off wouldn’t accomplish anything. For your clean word not to be censored, you would need to turn it off and the people in the chat as well. And even if that was the case, you wouldn’t be able to tell who actually saw your clean word. As for the profanities- same thing. If you drop the F bomb, how will you know the other four people in chat saw it? They could all have their filters on. What’s the point of you seeing your own curse word when you typed it? Why would you want to see someone else cursing?

I apologize I’m not trying to be combative. I really don’t see an issue with it. My guess it’s there to cut down on the toxicity. Some ppl are just flat out lazy and can’t be bothered to take the extra 1 or two steps (like putting spaces in between letters) to circumvent the censoring. And if by them failing to do so makes chat less toxic, I’m all for it. Regardless of toggling an on\off switch.

Thats why my counter is the best. The person that brings the key will absolutely not get to use it. Wish more killers took this approach, people might stop bringing keys

Jokes on you- that’s exactly why I give mine away at the start of the match, then pick it up way after you’ve tunneled that person out the game! 🤣

  • The pros outweigh the cons- just let it be.

  • Nope. Not any more. Honeymoon phase is over.

  • Real Spirit Mains can play her without Stridor. Stridor was a crutch for some. The 1% are still going to kick ass with her.

  • I’m the martyr type. If I’m getting face camped, I want my team to do gens and get out. That’s the only way face campers will learn. They rely on the team’s altruism and 95% of the time it works. Even I fall for it because I feel like an ######### if I don’t try to get all 3 that got snowballed by Bubba in shack basement.

  • @unluckycombo what rank are you and your bud(s)?

Fortunately I haven’t dealt with too many tunnelers but I do see a lot more wannabe flashlight bullies on my team and it’s annoying. Mostly streamers with the YT and TTV in their handles. Then have the nerve to DC when the killer owns their ass. Those killers were always cool and let me pip before killing me or just let me escape, due to those asshats trying to get content for their channel. Literally pulling away from me injured, mid heal- trying to get a flashlight save. They miss it, then get downed instantly while they were 80% healed smh. I wish someone would tell them those bully DBD channels are either staged or smurfin in low ranks.

I mean, there are 4 survivors per match, thats only 10 matches for 40 reports...

Right, and this goes back to what I said- you would need EVERYONE to false report you and let’s be honest, thats not realistic. If 40 strangers reported you in 2 hours, then you deserved to be banned. Especially if they all flag you for cheating. That’s too coincidental. Even with SWF sprinkled in. But keep in mind that’s just an example I made up to paint a picture. The actual system may and most likely give more wiggle room to account for false reports. I think it’ll be fine. No different from the false reports you get from butthurt players on PSN and XBN after you beat em.

  • That’s weird she DC’d. If the killer wanted her dead, wouldn’t he have just picked her up and place her on hook? If you left her to bleed out on the ground she would have DC’d anyway and still be mad at you. You can’t win with some people smh. Literally and figuratively.

  • Interesting. I’m guessing you can only turn that off on PC, correct?

  • There were a lot of threads created on this when it was first announced. Pretty much this site was in an uproar with concern, and understandably so. I personally believe the devs are fully aware of everything you mentioned above and will keep that in mind when designing the auto ban algorithm. So in other words, I think you will have to be reported an egregious amount, in X amount of time. For example, 50 times in 2 hours. Now our community isn’t THAT toxic to submit that many false reports on one person Lmao.

  • Oof. Get you a Series X and a CPU Monitor with 1ms response time- first chance you get. Hang in there. Hopefully BHVR will let you guys know soon what’s going on with a fix.

  • Oh ok. Yea I think that may be best if you can’t get confirmation from others.

Honestly I'm pretty sure wake up doesn't really counter it I actually think wake up only shaves like not even 3 seconds off a door

Remember me trumps Wake Up, but I get what he was trying to say. It’s more of an “answer” to it. Pair Wake Up with Spine Chill and those extra 3 seconds plus will come in handy when you’re the last one left. Both saved my butt a few time lol.

  • I just play regular as usual and assumed everyone else did as well. I don’t think I can turn on the juice like Bane and get better at the game. Maybe all the top tier players who don’t usually play as much, are on more often- grinding the event. I imagine to them, they’re playing like they normally would.

Oh wait a minute- make sure your console recognizes the upgraded version and not the PS4 version. Maybe updating this chapter confused it. Those sound like PS4 issues.

For some they made hill spawns easy again they aren't even hidden by the rock for God sake

    Same.

I don’t use hex totems when I play killer, but from a survivor standpoint they seem decent. The spawning next to them needs to be fixed, though. They keep changing locations every chapter and mid chapter. There’s been a few games where me and the other survivors wasted all our hooks looking for that last ruin totem and could never find it. Had we done the last 2 or 3 gens in that time instead, some of us could have made it out.

This is why old Undying was better. I had no complaints against it. Made games tougher, but when you beat it and made it out, you had a great sense of accomplishment. I felt like it taught the survivors: “oh, you don’t want cleanse dull totems, huh? Well you’re going to want to now.”

  • If I’m injured and infected, I will not take a COVID shot. That’s a waste. If I heal and a case happens to be within the vicinity, then I’ll grab the Moderna. I won’t go across the map to grab a case- especially when there are gens on my side that need to be worked on.

We must be going up against different red ranks. I would estimate that 80% of the red rank Killers I go up against engage in tunneling and camping. And it's no better on the survivor side, either. I can't count the number of times I've been in a match, aghast at the toxic behavior of a survivor, only to find out at the end they were red rank. Hell, just last night, last two survivors in the match are me and a Bill. I watched as he left me slugged on the ground - the Killer didn't hook me, just went looking for them, and they spent the entire time hiding in a locker / sneaking around the map, waiting for me to bleed out, whereupon they grabbed hatch. Yep, red rank.

Yea, survivors are toxic at any Rank smh lol.

  • I’m starting to wonder if tunneling and face camping is a “rank thing?” Red rank killers don’t need to do either & usually don’t for the most part. They tend to lean more so towards slugging (which IMO is fine) if the game is shifting away from them. Whenever we get rank reset and I end up with Purple or Green rank killers, I see an uptick in tunneling- especially green. This is just my experience, though. May be different for everyone else.

  • This has always been a fear of mine. I’ve seen blatant hacks before, and always wondered about those who weren’t so obvious about it. A few months back I ran into a streamer using Plague, who seemed a little too fast. She was downing everyone quickly. You couldn’t even loop her once. It felt like she had max bloodlust all the time. I saw at the tally screen she did not have any add-ons and no speed perks, so I decided to watch their stream. Sure enough next game his character was moving quickly in first person & I was thinking to myself, “What the hell?” How is no one in chat calling this guy out on this? I don’t play Plague, so I went to some Youtube videos to see Plague gameplay, and sure enough she was not moving as quickly as the streamer. Oh, and in his new match he was snowballing as from start as well. Very sus. Ofc he denied it when I called him out on it and his chat was ready to put my head on a pike, but he told them to chill. I quickly got out of there and chalked this up to another nuance we have to deal with when playing DBD. It’s unfortunate.

It happens. Even had one of my rare DC moments and called it quits on DbD for the day. Likely has nothing to do with farming, just a bad game that was about to get a lot worse.

Bad spawn with me top floor room of Iron Works, all 4 Survivors spawn in the shack on the same gen, and it being 80% done before getting there. Granted I made a few bad plays but kept playing. It was one of those "3 gens finished before a single down" games due to finding skilled Survivors for a change and RNGed a relatively safe map while playing a M1 Killer, Nemmy. No chance in hell I would have done anything that game yet I would've kept playing to at least finish it.

But then someone started to vault spam after finishing the 4th gen with still no hooks due to everyone now spread out and running early. Don't know if it was them taunting me, trying to farm, or what. But I noped the hell out of that game after hearing that vault spam. Not gonna put myself through that crap as odds are it was a taunt and it would have been pure abuse playing that game out. Knowing you don't stand a chance is a bad enough way to end a session.

That sounds like good ‘ole SWF…

  • I hope this corrects being hit sliding on a pallet when you’re clearly on the edge opposite of killer. Like no parts of the body even in the middle of pallet while sliding.

  • ThiS is one of my biggest complaints about the solo que experience. Too many players do this. I don’t care if you have borrowed time, display some patience and let the killer go away. BT is for facecampers or in the case the killer does come back quickly after a safe hook attempt. BT wears off rather quickly and tunnelers will either wait it out, or hit you and still tunnel you. What was the point of that then, Meg??

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2338666#Comment_2338666

Mainly Tbagging after walking up to me. Had 1 guy do that TWICE in a game and it wasn't because he wanted to be chased or trying to be killed off as he attempted to play the game after his first hook. Others just stand in place, likely accepting death due to a DC. But mostly it is a Survivor walking up to the Killer tanking a hit then going to a pallet as it is "their turn".

If that game is to be a farming round, then the Killer needs to be the one to suggest it. If the Killer is bobbing his head, acting goofy, spamming his power, or what not then it's likely gonna be a farm game as the Killer isn't just gonna straight kill you. But if the Killer is running right up and smacking your face off, then odds are it isn't gonna be a farm game and you ruined it for everyone else by game throwing.

I just don't like to sit there doing nothing. And farming for Killer is just that. No chases, no mind games, just smack/wait and smack/wait in between getting pallets dropped on your head. That isn't fun. Would rather wait in the lobby for the next game than wait in a game doing next to nothing. As said, I will take it easy or give hatch/gate more often than not.

Mmmmm, ok. Interesting. Personally never encountered that before.

  • For me, it’s I don’t have it on the character I’m using. My apologies. I feel bad when there are 4 cakes and I’m the asshat who brought in something lame like put the basement in the main building 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not saying its a bad perk, it was just that one perk I couldn't play without. I knew I could play better if pushed myself and tried other perks.

Do you have (or had) a perk like that?

Lmao same- Urban Evasion. As a soon to be former Immersive player, I always felt like that should have been default. When I paired it up with Fixated, I was in Heaven lmao.

I keep getting this map SO MUCH, like i'm literally not kidding it's probably the map for about 40% of my games total since a few days before the event started, is anyone else getting it a ton?

Everytime I play it, most likely i'll get it the game after and two times now i've had it three times in a row too

I don't mind playing it every now and then but man it gets boring real quick having it this often

This happened to me last week and if I didn’t do a map offering, after the THIRD consecutive game with that map, I swore I would have ended up there a 4th time. I was even contemplating doing what you did, and creating a thread on here about it. Glad to see it wasn’t just me. Now I save all my map offerings for when the game server decides to spam Swamp, Saloon, sheltered Woods, and all indoor maps. That usually breaks up the monotony and puts the algorithm back on track. Usually lol.

  • @Chewy102 said:

It's as simple as that. If you want BP, you gotta earn it. Last few games have been rather bad at Survivors wanting to farm and be given BP rather than playing the game.

I burn cakes, take it somewhat easy, play weaker Killers, give hatch/gate to the last man (more so if they have a crown), and try to give good games in general. But I 100% refuse to farm. Farming as Killer is doing almost nothing for 10+ minutes waiting for others to get their points only to have them run off before I can get mine more often than not. ######### that.

Simple man wants simple things, and I just want to play the game.

What do survivors do to indicate they want to farm?

Eh id say rework them so you can't go to that realm. So my 50 haddonfield offerings actually become useful on killer.

Hmmmm, I like this! So if everyone just happened to do 5 different map offerings, it eliminates those 5 maps from being potential locations for that match. That way you will definitely know you’re not going there. Yea that’s better than that crap shoot of an anti-player map offering. If no one submits a map offering, it’s a waste. Scared to use it as a survivor, because with my luck the killer won’t offer anything but my teammates will try to send us somewhere more in our favor and now we’re not going lol.

  • @Dustin said:

I do wear only the pride charm, but I doubt it was for this reason.

I doubt this as well - Probably not worth mentioning honestly. This is also why I hated the fact that BHVR added representation in game because now people are just going to worry about this or use it as an excuse etc.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲ ▼

    P.S. - I'm gay and I don't say that out of "hate"

As for your game - Being honest here as a biased killer player - You said you do 4 gens while they slugged the other survivors? Do you hide most of the game? Were you never hooked while the other 3 survivors were? Honestly if I have those games where I'm dumpstering 3 survivors and there's this 4th survivor who is hard to find I will spare one survivor if they sell out their teammate because I genuinely hate immersed / hiding players. They're boring and put too much pressure on the other 3 survivors and I hate dealing with that as survivor so I will pretty well do what your killer did.

It's not about winning it's about sending a message.

Coming off of being an immersed player (not fully but getting there), I don’t recommend you do this. I consider immersion as a phase. One I am currently growing out of because the “honeymoon” is over, and others likely will as well. I don’t know how long you’ve been playing this game, but you probably went through it for a hot second yourself when the game was in its infancy. There are true horror fans out there like myself that actually enjoy the thrill of being hunted and trying to go undetected. Our hearts are literally racing, we are holding our breath, while the killer is nearby searching for us as we watch. If he gives up and walks away, we let out a big sigh of relief and a “whew!” Our eyes widen when we unexpectedly come across a stealthy killer that just happened to miss us in his peripheral. What may seem as an annoyance & a hindrance to season competitive vets (especially killers), is a ton of fun and exhilarating for horror enthusiasts. As for me, like I said I’m over it- I no longer get those jolts of adrenaline induced feelings playing this game. I’m transitioning away from it, naturally (immersion- not the game).

I get that it puts more pressure on the other 3, but more often than not- the immersed isn’t fully aware. From MY viewpoint, I always looked at it as it’s BETTER for my team if I PERSONALLY don’t get caught by the killer because I’ll go down in 10 seconds, being more of an hindrance. It’s best I stay low key, do objectives, and go for safe saves.

Now I think the community keeps getting immersed players and COWARDS confused. A coward will willingly know the killer is preoccupied and not go for a save. A coward will NOT take protection hits if you’re on death hook and they don’t have any. A coward will NOT stay on a 97% final gen with you as a killer with PGTW approaches, and you’re injured. A coward opens the exit gate and leaves. A coward waits for you to die and doesn’t attempt to do the final gen if there are only two survivors left. Those guys are scum- not immersed players.

Not a fan of a killers & survivors teaming up to look for immersed players because they have no hooks. And then when they die and see the score tally, the immersed player has more points dead than the last snitch survivor until the killer lets him escape. That’s not cool. Please bare in mind the only message this sends is a reminder of how toxic this community can be. Immersed players are not coming from a place of competitiveness, they truly believe they are in the element of what the game was developed for (immersive horror) and not what it’s become (competition). Give them time and they’ll outgrow it.

  • I would’ve assumed having an extra zombie or two as an add-on would be a no-brainer for the devs. He has two crappy add-ons (I forget atm) that could be replaced with this.

  • This is why everyone should play both killer & survivor- not get stuck on one. When I first started out as killer, I would return to the hook and down the player who just got pulled off- then put them back on. I didn’t know any better. I just thought hey, I’m being efficient by getting survivors out the game quicker. Well after having that done to me a few times, I learned my lesson. That ######### sucks lmao. No fun at all getting tunneled out the game. So then I adapted to going after the unhooker instead, or just looking for whoever was on a gen. Now I can 4K without tunneling (not every game ofc) which makes it a bit more satisfying.

As a survivor I stopped tea bagging at the exit gate (unless you were GF teabagging me during the match, or hitting me on hook while nodding your head lol). I never teabagged at pallets that’s dumb IMO. And I stopped clicking my flashlight trying to get the killer’s attention. Now when I click, it’s only to get my teammates attention. Treat other’s how you want to be treated.

  • I appreciate the hatch when I end up with a 3 man SWF with flashlights, trying to make content for their YouTube channel. The ones who will get off a gen with me while injured, trying to get a flashlight save that’s down the block and around the corner.

Keys are fun but they do need to be reworked. It really should have been done simultaneously with the Mori change.

This. I made this mistake when I first bought the game. I think all new players have to go through this. I feel bad when I see killers breaking off chase with me to try and stop a gen far away, then watch them ping pong back and forth. I remember how frustrating that was.

*sits next to you and hands you your 🍿*

”They’re out of Raisenets, so I got us some MnM’s instead.”

  • In every vs. multiplayer game, I ALWAYS stray away from the meta. I naturally flock to characters, weapons, perks, maps, strategies, etc. even before I know their meta status. Once I know they’re meta, I usually use or learn them last. For example, Overwatch fans- I’ve been playing that game for two years- I still haven’t learned to play with McCree, Rheinhardt, Genji, Hanzo, or Junkrat. I just learned this year to play with Lucio. I knew all the other healers before him. DBD? Been playing for 3 years now. Just this year I played with Laurie and used Decisive Strike for the first time. I prestiged her to level 1. I gave her Dead Hard as well, deciding why not kill 2 birds with one stone and see what the hype is about. Unfortunately for me, Dead Hard was bugged again this year and apparently isn’t as consistent on console, so that was an interesting experience lol. It’s summer time & I haven’t used the two perks again since. I do have builds plan for them, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. I’m working on what the kids are calling “meme builds” like perks targeting totems.

I say live a little and experiment with new creative builds. You already know what it’s like to “win” countless times, I’m sure. Now try to have some fun escaping with non meta perks. Go in there with the mindset that the odds are stacked against you and there’s a good chance you won’t make it out, but you’re going to do your best and play with what you have. I just started to really appreciate Diversion. Man that perk saved my butt a few times! Especially when I need the killer to stop camping an open gate while I’m injured. Very satisfying to get value like that.

  • I only got to play it once and I liked it. I liked it a lot. I may be a little biased because I am a RE fan (favorite video game franchise). I found it funny that already being familiar with the police station from the franchise’s actual games, made it a little easier to navigate. I saw it mentioned somewhere before release and thought B.S, but was pleasantly surprised it was true. So that made me think, Silent Hill fans- how accurate is the High School?

  • OP, are you sure your beef isn’t with SWF specifically? Solo que lobbies can be pretty chill at times.

I have a hypothesis that SWF (mostly 4 man squads) make balancing asymmetrical horror games very difficult. Information is key. Verbal communication trumps any perk the killer has (except NOED lol), and it’s like bringing 5+ extra perks. No need to waste a slot on Kindred. Unlike solo que where it feels like 75% of the time EVERYONE leaves their gen to go get the save, SWF’s have 1 go and the other two remain. No wasted slot on Kindred. If someone gets pushed off a gen and ends up in chase, he can let his buddies know- “hey, that gen in shack is 85% done.” Big advantage. There’s currently no perk for survivors to know a gen status from afar (unless kicked- Rookie Spirit)? And that was just added to the game.

All gens done & someone in chase? Call outs all over for which teammate is on what exit. Face camping killer? A plan is already in motion. Everyone knows what to do. They’ve done this plenty of times before. Unlike solo que, where kindred is active and the one guy who DOESN’T have borrowed runs in for the save, instead of waiting for approaching teammates to come and at least body block. It’s the little things that add up. Plenty more scenarios than the ones I mentioned occur, making the game not fun for killers.

I disagree with the general consensus that he is fine. I think you're right that he is too strong. Wraith is currently my least favourite killer to go against barring Spirit and Nurse. It feels like you are going against a Killer that is cheating. I know this is a contentious matter but this is just my honest opinion.

I’m with you. He is my least favorite killer to go against at the moment. I didn’t even like playing against him before he was buffed. His snowballing potential has Hag nodding her head in approval.

He is. He used to be at the top of my list, but since he is no longer popular- I can tolerate my few encounters with him. Although, I have seen a small uptick in GF players since the event started.

My list consists of (in order) Wraith, Freddy (nerf did nothing IMO), Legion, Doctor, Ghostface, & Plague. Honorable mention? Trapper. He’s my main when I play killer, but I don’t like going against him. Gotta watch them toes! That anxiety carries over to my very next match (with a different killer) for the first two minutes, lol.

I’m sorry to hear it’s that bad. I don’t have the slightest idea how Game Development works, but I’m wondering if this game has gotten “to big for its britches”on PS4 and XB1? From my perspective both consoles should be able to handle the game’s updates. DBD doesn’t appear to be too demanding. But again, I’m not a developer.
