Guess you'd prefer to just derail the discussion with a pointless response pretending I'd prefer this game be a pallet breaking simulator.
considering what we currently have is a pallet breaking simulator on multiple maps, and you don't care for a reduction, i'd say my response was not 'derailing' but an observation

Have you tried counting the pallets on the reworked maps and the amount of dead zones? You'd be surprised.
guess you'd prefer 20 safe pallets so the killer participates in a pallet breaking simulator
-
The Oblivious effect would suffice

Yeah and when we all quit because you entitled killers keep getting everything you want, then it'll be on you.
what's the drawback here

The first game i played today after a week of break is versus a group of red rank SWF with 4 flashlight and OoO..
Another break i guess..
literally same thing today, on xbox.. fractured cowshed
gen rush, body block at gate, tbag
real cool
-
if no one readies up, at least one is probably going to quick swap
survivors have the entire queue time to put on an item
-
Why does there always have to be strings attached to fixing known imbalance?
-
-> ruin deleted
--> pop becomes main slow down perk
---> wants pop deleted

They were quite obviously only interested in addressing killer map complaints. We get to keep "enjoying" Shelter Woods, Hawkins, and the like.
so you have 2 bad map layouts compared to almost 20 for killers
but woe is me

literally just moonwalk once you realize they probably have it. you dont need a perk to counter it, you dont need add ons, you dont need to adjust your gameplay style. literally if you are playing killer and you dont moonwalk in chases already you're not doing basic killer mechanics right.
Edit: Also this is the degree at which spine chill works. Basically you have to be in their red stain cone up to 36 meters. Its basically 15-20/25 degree cone (at max range) I believe when someone did the math on it (can a dev confirm?). Here's a video about how it works. Literally this complaint stems from obviously never playing survivor in high ranks and understanding how easy spinechill is punished outside of chases.
https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/deadbydaylight_gamepedia_en/6/6f/Spine-Chill.mp4
yup you got me, never played survivor at high ranks ever

i mean if you don't want to think about things logically and just generalize then sure we'll go with that

Surveillance. Discordance is very overrated and easily counterable.
I'm assuming by "counter-able" you mean everyone splits up.. which in turn slows down gen speed.. sounds like it's working.
and that's after the fact you figure out the hard way that discordance is being used.. which alot of games people don't catch on
Discordance is top 6 perk
-
that looks like a fun game.. meta as ######### with head on troll perk and red forest offering
"why no killers play?"
-
Hag is infinitely more fun to play because of her addons.
GF can be fun when running a Murky Reagent and crouch speed addons.. but overall pretty basic gameplay.
Hag is better overall if you know how to use her though.
-
@Spirit_Hag said:
So what you are saying is you basically want people to just get pulled off gens and hit for free with no warning? You do remember that all killers (except nurse) Run significantly faster than survivors so if you take away something that’s gives a small warning, what are survivors supposed to do??
"we have 4 stealth killers in the game, but also, you can't sneak up on survivors"
what i'm saying, is the above is nonsense. Why should a perk negate stealth at a greater range than the terror radius? 36m = 8 second head start.. that's a "small" warning?
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:
Imagine complaing about spine chill. Yikes
imagine contributing nothing of substance to the discussion
-
36m is more than every killer's base terror radius.. does something like that make sense? That's an 8 second head start minimum.. "undetectable"..
-
@Zaitsev said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/141577/undetectable-spine-chill
I suppose there has to be a counter.
at 36m it completely negates stealth gameplay though. It should be 12m max otherwise why are we pretending to have stealth killers
-
I just use Mew's Guts and Black Heart.. both are shred recovery + 1 extra portal. I use Shred to catch up in a chase, not just to hit. Since you have 2 recovery add ons.. it's pretty useful to just use shred as a speed boost

Oh wow, survivors having 15 different definitions for camping, tunnel or anti-tunnel-perk but getting angry someone mentions an infinite.
i got a called a tunneler yesterday because of this: 2 survivors left in match, 1 injured 1 healthy.. they were running together.. I went for the injured person and downed him.
post match "THE TUNNEL IS REAL" -- ok
on topic: god loops by definition should not exist

TBF, playing Huntress on Xbox is a lot harder than on PC. I used to main Huntress and I just learned it's better to save hatchets than to try and get ranged hits. Therefore I just don't throw hatchets at targets far away unless I'm sure I can hit them. I'm sure if I tried for this achievement though, I could get it, it would just require me to throw a few games making attempts really.
Basically, the achievement isn't rare explicitly because it's hard, it's rare mostly because it's not a practical way to play Huntress.
And since it's not a practical way to play, should they decide to change the insta-down requirement to over 24m, they might as well delete the add on instead of pretending it's to make it some sort of show of skill.
Considering they deleted a perk that required a survivor do something that literally had "skill check" in it, because it was too hard.

thank you i wasn't the only one disturb by peanits claim, does he understand that not all killer are hardcore player that can pull off those kind of stuff?
3 / 10,000 people on Xbox have that achievement.. lol.. "not uncommon"
-
@Peanits said:
That has always been the ideal change in my eyes. That way if you want to get the instant down, you need to do it from far away and aim well, not just follow someone around and toss it as soon as they vault a window or drop a pallet.
Though as someone who has played a lot of Huntress, I would probably hazard to say 32m instead of 24m. 24m is only a tile and a half, and that's not too uncommon for the Huntress.
"Not uncommon for Huntress"
.......lol come on

When they announced the Redeemer would set off crows, I thought Spies would work with Deathslinger and actually be useful.. sort of like a more narrow Static Blast
nope.. Spies doesn't proc even though redeemer shots make them scatter

Probably gonna complain about how the devs are survivor sides even after god loops are fixed
god loops shouldn't even be a thing
are you kidding me?
"why is it called a god loop" - "because the killer literally can't do anything if you run to it unless they want to lose 2 gens.. they are perfectly balanced and should stay in the game"
ok

"I dont like seeing entity displeased when I experiment"
That's where I lost legitimacy of your post.
A made up entity in a video game is regulating your fun because you didnt appease the made up video game god? FOH.
Play it and enjoy it or dont, but dont use "I feel bad displeasing my master" ######### as an excuse for you not having fun or not doing well with fun builds.
or maybe.. because it literally means "you lose"
you see what you want to see

Its the same in other multiplayer games isn't it. Every game has a meta.

Rip post nerf adept nurse
it was pretty real terrible, but I managed on Thompson House.. just gotta get an overly altruistic team

Oni, Mind's Eye is a terrible perk and distracting. Plus he gets punished in the Chase emblem for using his power.
Nurse.. I did this post nerf.. so yeah

I don't really understand why you would expect a meme build to not cause you issues. The point of running them is to have fun goofing around. To try new things. Naturally they won't be as effective. I'm not saying there aren't issues that need addressed. There clearly are. But meta perks are meta for a reason. You can't choose to not run them and expect it not to negatively impact your results.
The fact you consider any non-meta build a "meme" build is the problem.
If I want to run a skill check hell build on Doctor.. Distressing/Unnerving Presence/Overcharge/Pop(or Lullaby).. game's over in 3-4 chases even though it should theoretically be an entertaining build. Sure I can run it, have a horrible time and get Brutal/Displeased.
That's the game's way of telling me to choose 4 of 6 useful perks, out of 50.
And you're trying to argue that's not proving my point of the game being stale?

I also got bored a few weeks ago with running the same perks over and over again - murdering and destroying those "impossible to beat SWF groups" so i decided to do some adapts (i never did them so far). It took my 8 games to get 6 adepts on R2 within a few hours including a break. All i want to say is: If a guy who is not even a killer main can win most of his games even with trash perks, a potent killer main should not have the slightest problem to do the same.
No offense but maybe you have to improve you game a little bit?
Ah, another constructive get good comment. I actually am good at the game, thanks for checking.
However, the issue at hand is in regards to the limited builds killers can use if they want to have a decent time playing the game.
Any solutions to that or should I just ascend above rank 1 ?

Ruin is still good. It’s useful in combination with informational perks like surveillance. Tbh it doesn’t need a buff. I think killers are still OP they have so many good ad ons and ebony Mori. I know you want your 4K every game but please understand that each of those 4 survivors are real people too that want their share of an enjoyable experience playing the game. And it’s not enjoyable when you can’t get any gens done fast. Good killers can take people out of the game JUST as quick or just keep survivors on their toes healing and rescuing so gens don’t get done. You got thanat, dying light. Ruin is a crutch. Get good at actually being a killer.
So I should get good at being killer by using Thanatophobia (3.2sec/injure) and Dying Light (2.4sec/hook)? So instead of using Pop for 20sec/hook, I should instead use 2 perks for not even half that.. got it. I'm feeling better already.

It depends, which killers do you play the most?
i generally change every match, outside of bubba/clown. Doc if i need a pip, Myers/Spirit/Demo/Huntress/Hag/cowboy follow
i already mentioned where you are going with this in the OP.. "if you want to use X killer you have to use Y perks" or a generic combination of the perks i listed
-
@Todgeweiht said:
You people want to be spoonfed by the devs.
both you killer and survivor mains are so goddamn annoying, is it really that hard to get better at the game? Why blame everything on "da genrush" and "muh NOED"?
tell me how i should get better then, what is the secret..how do I ascend beyond rank 1 without using the perks I noted in OP
-
@Mo4ntus said:
I think it’d be better if the gates just started regression when nobody was interacting with them
they're more likely to make you waste a perk on such a niche scenario rather than make it base

This sounds to me like you tunnel someone purposely off the hook.
Times 4.
or.. people use the same character and i can't tell who was off the hook and who wasn't
or.. they are the only person i see. Should i go to the opposite side of the map to MAYBE find someone?
do you even play killer? one does not have to tunnel to be hit by that trash and you know it
-
@cybercat said:

No, it's trash to face as killer.
I could do a full chase and hook someone else, and still get hit by that stupid ######### because it lasts so long
or just run to a locker, such strategery
multiply this garbage by 4, great perk

Wow imagine having a game offer us 3 weeks of extra bloodpoints only to be ungrateful about it and call the company stingy for not doing it all the time.
2-3 times a year for generally 3-4 days each time, is stingy
this is the exception
-
Oni was the worst for me, just behind post-nerf Nurse
Mind eye was so distracting, and you get penalized for using his power.. it was not fun in the least
-
I've been using Thrill/Distressing/Beast of Prey and still get rushed and try-harded every game, it's sad
maybe i should just bring moris huh

@Eleghost said:
Biggest issue with him is if you can't aim efficiently he becomes very bad.
I'd argue his biggest issue is not downing someone with a spear hit on an injured survivor. Zero reason someone is allowed to drop a pallet early, get hit, and act like nothing happened.
Spear hit vs injured survivor should down them, period.
If a bear trap can automatically put someone in the dying position, no reason this couldn't (if you want to try the coding route).

I did it on my first try. Bring Borrowed Time and Empathy. Easy.
i mean.. it's not easy, but this is the proper loadout.
4 out of 6 unhooks, when you yourself can get hooked/camped/ignored by survivors; teammates dc and waste that match; teammates one hook themselves.. alot of things can happen, it's not "easy"

20 seconds is literally nothing and I would rather run a Perk that would actually do something like Corrupt.
20 secs per hook is better than maxed out Thana tier3
and what's wrong with running both Corrupt and Pop? that's basically all there is to keep the game over 4 mins
-
@Seanzu said:
Because the match isn't over until it's actually over.
How many times have y'all 4Kd with 1/2/3 gens left? lots of times, which means the gens that popped before it didn't matter in the slightest, they're insignificant, it's so boring having killers keep giving up because a couple of gens pop it's so silly, I would totally expect a baby killer to give up when this happens, but this whole scenario is entirely beatable, patrol the three gens that are on the opposite side and you're golden.
only baby killers think a match is over when 2/3 gens pop, fact.
why even have 7 gens at this point? just put 3 gens in one corner of the map at the start of the match since that is the gameplay you expect the killer to deal with.
"ignore the first 4 gens that go off in 3 mins, just 3 gen it"
who the ######### cares at that point? you now have the amount of time left to do 1-2 more chases. how exciting and interactive. let me just break 10 pallets on this 3rd chase i've been granted with
trash
-
@White_Owl said:
A generator takes 1 minute and 20 seconds to be repaired. If you let 3 survivors repair 3 gens undirstubed it's natural this happens.
a guy was on a hook
what's he supposed to do? clone himself so he can pressure the other 3 simultaneously ?
good grief
