    Being underrated is quite good honestly, saves him from getting nerfed.

    That is extremely true. Also despite not being the most powerful killer he's actually one of the ones I enjoy playing as the most. Perhaps because he's so underrated

    As a Legion main i understand your pain.

    It also frustrates me to no end when i see countless people calling Legion the worst killer in the game.

    The people who call killers the worst are also ussually the people that never play them.

    Exactly or else they do play for example legion and have no idea how to use them

  • @ClownIsUnderrated said:

    I still don't see what makes people think Clown is the worst killer in the game, even with his rework that made his chase even stronger people still think he's the worst killer out of the roster!? I'll provide you with my own history lesson of Clown.

    {Old Clown with the movement speed slowdown after a bottle throw.}

    I'll admit here that Clown back when he had slowdown after throwing a bottle was indeed bad, it was his biggest glaring issue that a lot of people never noticed even I was one to have never noticed it. It hurt his chase massively because you would be losing distance on survivors after hindering yourself with a bottle throw, although this made him pretty bad he wasn't the worst killer in the game. He was still a step above Wraith, Trapper, Myers, old Doctor, and old Freddy.

    {Old Clown with the movement speed buff after a bottle throw.}

    What was one of Clown's biggest issues of being slow downed after throwing his bottles was all fixed once the Silent Hill chapter came out. Clown no longer suffered from hindering himself, and with the buff that was given his chase became what is was suppose to do. You can throw a bottle towards where the survivor has their route planned to go, and keep an incredible amount of distance with that survivor. With the slowdown on the survivor Clown is guaranteed to get the free hit out in the open and around loops, where as before he would sometimes not get that free hit with hindrance to himself. This buff then resulted in me to experimenting around with Clown more, and eventually lead me to becoming a Clown main. Once I started messing around more with this improved version of the old Clown, I was ending chases very very quickly. But for some reason people still think that even with the movement speed buff he got after throwing bottles, it still made him the worst killer in the game? I'll tell you that he was definitely better than Myers, Trapper, Wraith to name a few. He was once a D tier killer, but with a buff that improved his chase he became a decent C tier killer.

    {New Clown with buffed reload and antidote bottles.}

    Now it all brings me to this, let's talk about the new Clown. With the new Clown came the introduction of the antidote, where it speeds up both Clown and survivors. Also with that came a buffed reload speed for Clown, which was shortened from 5 seconds to now three. If you run out of bottles, the quicker reload will be enough to get you back to full. Now a lot of people are probably thinking why in the world would a killer power benefit survivors? But after finally getting to test out how much the antidote benefits survivors, I'll just have you know that the antidote doesn't really drastically increase the survivors movement speed nor does it really help them. The antidote is also not a tool to be used for map mobility, but if you basically have the game won just use it for map mobility at that point if you want. The power of the antidote is in the chase, and if used correctly can be very strong. Here's a few pointers as how to use the antidote.. When you're in a chase with a survivor around loops it's best to throw the antidote down first, and then follow up with a tonic as to where the survivor is. You get the increased movement speed with a slowed down survivor, and you will get that free hit unless you make a mistake with the bottles. What I also do with the antidote is after hitting a survivor with a basic attack out in the open, I then follow up with an antidote bottle to the direction that the survivor is going. With that 2.5 second delay, I get the speed boost and if the survivor gets close to a pallet or window I can still get the down thanks to the antidote. Also another one that isn't one you would do a whole lot if a survivor is hiding, just throw the antidote straight onto them and then hit them immediately after with a basic attack. While you are doing your blood wiping animation the antidote delay will trigger before it's over, then giving the speed boost and allows you to do what you want to that injured survivor immediately after. People are really underestimating the power of the antidote, it helps for Clown's chasing which is good with the anti loop but makes it even stronger with the addition of the antidote. And your probably saying this rework didn't fix his map pressure issue, although killers like Huntress, DeathSlinger, and Bubba don't have map mobility but have very strong chase powers. Clown after this rework is definitely not in the bottom of the barrel with weak killers, after this rework he's jumped to B tier for me. Of course he still gets outmatched by Freddy and Doctor, thanks to them having information on survivors along with passive slowdown. But the new Clown is not a tool for survivors, he is an improved version that can be very scary if the Clown your going against is really good. And thus this concludes our history lesson of the Clown, an underrated and fantastic killer.

    Interesting analysis thanks for taking the time! I think the problem with clown is a lot of people don't and never knew how to use him properly. Like other killers anticipating a survivors movements and forcing movement in a particular direction is of key importance. I personally wouldn't say he is a fantastic killer; he is still low tier but I fully agree he is underrated and dismissed quickly

    No Mither is an interesting perk to me in concept but you just give up sooo much for so little. I was wondering if people think it needs changed at all.

    Id personally want to add a big bloodpoint bonus with it for people who survive with it since its basically hard mode with minimal benefits. I think it would encourage people to try it more and would make the sacrifices it demands much more worth it.

    If you're using this perk you're a liability for the entire team

    I'm a killer/survivor main and solo que 99% of the time. The que times are awful especially leading into the evening because people aren't playing killer as much due to toxic swf teams. As a result, I wait 5 minutes waiting for a game (as a red rank) only to be paired up with countless green, yellow or brown rank survivors as teammates and a purple or red rank killer. If I'm going to be babysitting during matches at least allow the que times to be faster and just pair me up with them right away rather than wait.

    MMR is being implemented. After that Rank will only be used to award BP at the end of a season

    Pressure gens. Stop over-committing to chases. Bring slowdown perks. Slug someone and chase another person.

    Gen speed is not a problem - map size and generator layouts are problems.

    I will say Brand New Parts need removing/changing, though, but they're not overly common.

    1. It discourages the user to heal the rescued survivor due to having the killer know if they're trying to heal.
    2. It doesn't last long enough to actually matter most of the time.
    3. It doesn't even fit in a particular niche due to it being so specific in its weakness.
    4. Good killers will notice blood puddles if scratch marks are out of the question in bright-coloured maps.

    I agree it does need a buff/rework

    First: Let us sell stuff from the bloodweb.

    Look, it should be no problem to have it that we can sell items and addons we don't need/want or can't use anymore and get BP back.

    Second: Separate perks and items. Make perks a bit more expensive, but have them as their own thing to unlock. Be it its own bloodweb or just a store.

    Third: Regular Bloodhunts. Just have 2x the BP every (other) weekend, maybe with special items to increase it further and maybe even small cosmetics/charms to get by playing (not by buying them for cells).

    These are three things that ARE easy to program AND would help a lot.

    They're good ideas but it won't change. Its a business and part of that business is the desire to complete- as in all perks for all killers and survivor(s) (different people will have different versions of complete). And BHVR know this, its getting to your version of complete that adds further motivation and desire to play the game. Perks don't make the killer, the player themselves determines the efficiency of the killer but the perks sure help. The thought of completing a killer and being able to be more efficient with all perks available is also desirable. You're right it would be good but I cant see it happening

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    It's not an unreasonable one for the killer, assuming they're not Nurse or Spirit. The killer never knows how strong the survivor team is gonna be, especially since there's no SWF indicator, until the game is pretty much already lost for them. So many times, they decide to not slug everyone early on while they have the chance, and then come to regret it when they get a 0k or a 1k.

    There's perks that avoid this too: Unbreakable and Soul Guard.

    So the killer usually plays it safe and slugs everyone while they can, because survivors can get so carried by gen speed and map RNG that giving an inch allows the survivors to take a mile. It's a band-aid fix to bad balance, slugging is. That's why questioning killer's skill just because they're losing is hardly a fair argument, because they "could have slugged at any point, ya know."

    And unless the killer's game plan/build was to slug from the start, it's the survivors' fault that they all got slugged.

    I don't have a hotfix for this issue, but I do know that the less killers feel safe in playing nice, the more they're gonna be doing this when survivors give them the opportunity.

    I don't intentionally slug at that point as in I don't go out my way to do it. That having been said if I down someone and I see multiple survivors charging at me to stop the hook, flashlight etc of course I'm gonna go for them

  • I'd rather they take an extra week to identify the causes of the issues and fox them rather than half fixing the issues

  • I don't get what you're saying do you mean the killer can hear your breathing or survivors can hear TR?

    Just out of interest do you play Solo? I do and unfortunately all it takes is one wannabe maverick to go for a stupid reckless save at the beginning of the game and get downed or hooked while the original survivor is still on hook. 2 survivors out of play and 2 on gens at least one now has to move (possibly both). As a solo that happens more often than I'd like and when it happens it really turns the game on its head. It just got a whole lot harder...

    People confuse those that hide in a corner with stealth. If you're being productive during the match - gens, saves/heals, totems - I don't care if the killer never sees you because your stealth play is helping the team. It's when you're hiding in a corner or locker hopping, doing nothing the whole match, and then camping the hatch that it's not OK - it's not stealth, it's just hiding.

    Great way of putting it actually;

    Lol I don't understand why some survivors do it. And doctor as well haha I mean stealthing against the doctor is hard but blatant running at him is asking for major trouble! I don’t watch streams, but I’ll see if they have a video related to the topic.

    You'll find them helpful. That's how I learned how to counter spirit. Try truetalent, on YouTube he has a video where he actually uses diagrams to explain but also watch a few videos where he is survivor vs spirit and he'll explain. I typed in 'truetalent spirit counter' and a few good vids came up. Otzdarva is just an absolute gem and he makes so many useful videos and tutorials, not just for beginners to the game but for good players looking to get a further edge.

    Its definitely worth watching them mate, watching the best and picking up tips may even help your overall game. I played dbd and got to about rank 10 ans stalled. Watched a few streamers and how they play and that definitely helped me to red rank. Watching the best (both survibir and killer) helps you become tje best. Hope this helped and good luck !

    Obviously it’s the Plague is the most unhealthy. She’s constantly making everyone sick😋

    On a serious note though I can’t disagree with you about the spirit. She doesn’t always cause me a ton of hassle but a decent killer with strong addons and a vast majority of survivors are SOL. A couple days ago I faced a spirit without Stridor and I had iron will.. got my arse handed to me. Turned out they were running fathers glasses so I never really stood a chance.

    I saw what you did there with the plague comment

  • @RaginRendon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1947790#Comment_1947790

    The methods are not always going to work 100% of the time, the killer will eventually catch on. My problem with spirit is that there’s no feedback while she’s phasing.

    True Spirit is harder to counterplay than your average killer (don't think many survivor mains or killer mains would disagree with that) i suppose my point would be you shouldn't be able to counterplay 100% of the time - otherwise it would be imbalanced against the killer side. BHVR state that a balanced outcome is 2 deaths 2 escapes so being able to counterplay a killer 100% of the time (assuming the actual human playing killer is competant) then it's not a balanced killer therefore not a balanced game.

    With regards to the original question and ways to counterplay have you watched any streamers? Tru3ralent and NotOtzdarva are very good at demonstrating methods .

    Hope this helps

    I mean you could literally just bring up Tru3's youtube where he has many, many videos showcasing how unless you just happen to think every single Spirit he faces is bad which seems unlikely.

    Also if really that many Spirits are just bad, then you should have an easy time against most of them and there's really no problem.

    'The No True Scotsman Fallacy '. He's right and I agree fully with your point

    Like the title says, choose 3 Survivor perks that best describe you personality wise.

    For me, it's

    Spine Chill: Because I'm mostly aware of my surroundings and try to figure out if any trouble comes my way.

    Desperate Measures: Despite being in difficult and harsh conditions, I try adapting to it and just deal with it the best I can.

    Calm Spirit: I'm pretty chill and I rarely yell or scream.

    Interesting question!

    Decisive Strike - Hit me once shame on you. Hit me twice...

    Alert - I always observe my surroundings

    For the People - For real I once saved a woman's life when she was being attacked at a potentially detrimental risk to myself. Sounds weird typing this but whenever I think of that perk it always reminds me of that event and how grateful I am all thankfully went well

    Apologies for the deepness!

  • @Lexilogo said:

    No, Keys aren't comparable to Devour Hope.

    1. Survivor item slots aren't really comparable to Perks anyway. They're generally considered less valuable, as even at red ranks Survivors can walk into trials with empty hands and still do fine. Alternatively, Survivors can be handed a Key at total random via a Chest, without investment prior to the match starting.
    2. A Key with Blood Amber equipped will always give value even if you never find the Hatch. A cleansed Devour will no longer give any value for the rest of the match, and if it got cleansed before you reached 3 tokens that value is effectively 0.
    3. Devour Hope requires Killers to get at least five hooks across the duration of the match and requires them to avoid defending them whenever Survivors go for a rescue, which I think we can all agree is a bigger burden than the Survivor's conditions of needing (5 - # of dead survivors) Generators repaired.
    4. Devour Hope gives adequate warning to the Survivor team that it's coming, as the 3-hook bonus might as well shoot a spotlight into the sky with DO BONES emblazoned on the clouds above. Killers only have the item in Survivor lobbies as a warning that the Key might be used, and even then their only real recourse is just to be insanely paranoid and play as sweaty as possible, or play kinda nastily and tunnel the hell out of whoever has the Key.
    5. It doesn't matter how much you memorise Totem locations as a Killer main, that won't really change Devour's chances of being discovered and cleansed. This is NOT the case for Keys, which will become much better if you know where the Hatch can spawn. This multiplies further with SWF comms, which we should acknowledge and account for.
    6. Even when Devour goes off, it's only considered a "win condition" in a proverbial sense. The Killer still needs to find each and every individual Survivor before Devour is cleansed and down them as normal. Using a Key allows Survivors to escape immediately upon finding the open hatch.
    7. Come on, don't cite statistics just because they're convenient. Nobody's argument against Keys has been "they're a massively dominant strategy that always lets Survivors win", just like that was nobody's argument against Object, or Dying Light, or etc. Just because the "WIN" button on the arcade machine sometimes isn't there doesn't make its existence good game design.

    This explains perfectly

  • @DevourOfSalt said:

    Why does this perk exist, it gives scummy survivors a way to rat you out to the killer iv had multiple times when survivor will look for me so I can't escape or do gens as last 2 thanks to bond and because of it killer will leave that person to kill me and most times give that survivor the hatch or let them go through the gate, its so bs and just down right disgusting perk.

    Should have counter perk available so u don't have to deal with this it frustrating

    It should be removed or allow teammates the ability not to be read by these trashy teammates who only fun in game is to ruin others.

    Has anyone else experience this and if so how do you deal with this?

    Bond if used correctly (and not scummy as you said) is one of the most powerful solo survivor perks available. As a solo I almost always use it. And yes at times this does happen. Sk get a good head start and preferably to an undesirable area for the killer to chase you ks my advice

    Hi there

    I'm actually a bit nervous to post this, but I'll try anyways.

    I just bought this game for PS4. A friend showed it to me and it seemed like something I'd really like so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm trying to play Spirit, but of course I'm not that good at it yet. Some maps are easier for me than others. Sometimes I struggle a bit with the first person view, but I was having fun trying.

    I find the matchmaking system very confusing. When I'm matched with people at my low rank, I fare ok because we're all new and figuring things out. But for some reason, every second game when I look at the post-match ranks, I've been playing with people in green or purple ranks which are far above me (lvl 19). Thing is, I don't really care if I don't get kills at this point b/c I'm just derping around trying to learn.

    But whenever I face these higher ranks, I've started getting really unpleasant messages afterwards. Basically making fun of how bad I am at the game. It's shocking to me, because you'd think they could see from my rank that I'm new. As well, it's a pain in the ass to type out messages on the PS4. Why would anyone even go to such trouble to do this? The first message or two I just blocked them. A third one I actually asked this person what possesses them to send nasty messages to new players, and he replied; "lmao I only send them to people on PS4" (what? Why? Am I missing something?).

    I've had a difficult year, and I just wanted a game I could immerse myself in to distract me from real life crap. The messages are starting to turn me off the game entirely and I've only tried playing this Killer for 2 days. I find I'm hesitating even trying today because I don't want to deal it.

    I guess I wanted some advice from DBD veterans. Is it the culture of this game to bully new players or something? Or else, is there a reason I'm being matched with people in much higher ranks? Maybe most importantly, is there anyway I can learn faster, maybe watching streams or something? I don't have enough friends playing the game to practice in a chill environment either.

    I think I just want to decide whether it's worth it to continue or if it's just going to cause me a headache or put me in a bad mood lol.

    Thanks for any help in advance. I'm halfway wondering if I'll get toxic messages here too though lol.Guess I'll find out :D

    Disabling Messages until you get some experience might help. Its usually one of two people;

    1) Toxic players who just want to be toxic regardless. Ignoring them or giving as good as you get are the only ways to handle this

    2) Entitled survivors who can't handle losing. It can't be they lost because you are good or they were poor so it'll be 'Your killer is OP, tunneller etc

    Keep going , chin up!

    Stop being afraid of change!

    Fine.

    How about they revert ALL changes and updates! We’ll go back to just Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Dwight, Claudette, Jake, Meg, MacMillan, Coldwind, and Azarov.

    Happy?!

    I get it its annoying because the last few days has been bombardment of negativity. And you're not wrong in that people don't like change so will moan at the first available opportunity. I've been trying to look at it fairly and understanding the reasons as to why the changes went ahead so here are my thoughts;

    1) Wraith buff is a success

    2) Clown buff is successful to a point - they could have gone further but its a good start

    3) New maps? Well there's a lot of god loops in the game that's for sure. A lot of my time as killer is spent breaking pallets. But I like the design and in the game I like the fact j can actually see the bottom floor now. I think I need to play the reworks more but I'm open tp it certainly

    4) The bugs- expected after a new update so I'm not gonna moan about them. I'm sure they'll be fixed soon enough

    5) New Screen- the biggest controversy. Being honest I didn't see the crying need for it but I was open to it. I've tried it for both survivor and killer and I don't like it. I understand your point about killer eyes darting around normally but this takes it to the next level and as someone prone to headaches i have been getting them playing dbd which I didn't before. I also think certain elements are too small - seeing your BP gain is tiny in the top right corner. And the biggest part of the screen as killer is a picture of my ability and add ons - I don't need that prioritised in size! I'd rather have other more important aspects bigger and easier to see - most important information should be size and positioned prioritised. I haven't written any posts and I'm unhappy at the screen changes- I bought the game and every dlc so should I not be able to voice my disapproval??? Whether the devs listen or not is up to them but I'm a paying customer. I can see why you're fed up though, these forums have been a sea of negativity the last while

    You could've just looked at the, you know, other hundred threads already made to see people's opinion on this update.

    Anyways, I'm going to cut this short:

    • The UI is a mess & shouldn't have been moved. Love the portraits & hook counters though.
    • All the new animations are nicely done except for idle. Only complaint is how clunky they are & how you can barely 360.
    • Buffs to Clown & Trapper were minimal & need to be re-done. Buff to Wraith was a nice touch, especially on open maps.
    • Clown's soundtrack is a bop.
    • Map reworks look great. Only complaint is the amount of deadzones & god pallets on The Game. Love the extra Saw references though.
    • You can crouch n flashlight now :p

    I would say this is a very well thought out and accurate assessment and mirrors my own thoughts well

    Purely judging the Killers off of their teachables (and the basegame Killer perks as their own separate part), who is the worst?

    Unlike the time ago, when I made this poll but for Survivors, I have added in an option that is for any later Killers. So, if there's a Killer that has incredibly terrible perks after this poll is made, you'll be able to choose them.

    Huntress although lullaby is used for gimmick builds. Are any if wraiths really used at all?

    I'm so sick and tired of killers who refuse to break pallets and instead bloodlust and ######### I"M SO TIRED.

    I'm about to quit survivor and just play killer since I can't even enjoy chases anymore when killers refuse to play like they have a brain

    Let me just get the survivor rulebook out so that I can add that one in;

    - The killer must break pallets immediately so as not to allow the room for mindgames and to allow the sirvivor ample time to escape

  • Deathslinger, not because OP but because I know its going to be a boring match

    This could possibly also explain why I face more SWF on some nights...
