the only thing i would do to him is getting rid of his tier 1 but TAKES MORE TIME to get to tier 3... like he needs the first time the stalf OF TIER 1 plus tier 2 to get to TIER 3, thats it. not more, startign the game in tier 1 is bad, of course you can still use his scratched and remain in tier 1 to do meme builds and stuff no proble, but normally tier 2.
He won't be slow any longer in T1 if he's zooming about in a car

Just because a 'famous' YouTube has ideas for a tournament doesn't mean he actually has good ideas.
Firstly, you need to understand the game your playing before you can set any ground rules. This is an asymmetrical game. The game isn't going to be balanced just by looking at perks alone. So talking about having some perks on as default is stupid. Ruin completely changes the default game and forces you to play completely differently and because its 'default' your basically giving the killer 5 perks but forcing one perk to be ruin and making undying useless unless your taking other hexs. It doesn't balance the game if anything your just ruining the core game, a tournament show be a show of your skill at the game, by doing that your just adding handicaps and reducing the skill component.
If you want to make the game balanced for a tournament here's my suggestion. Disallow communicate outside of the game. Effectively, no SWF setup. It's effectively a game with randoms when it comes to communication. You can still have a pre made team of players for survivor but you can't talk outside of game and can't see each others screen while in the match.
Yay or nay? But I'm pretty sure alot of people would consider this fair and it makes perks you wouldn't normally use more viable like bond.
I think its more he feels gen regression should be an automatic part of the game because it promotes healthy play (you only get the benefit by pressuring gens ie camping would do no good) and 4 seconds to every 1 survivor second of progress (when a gen is kicked) isn't enough. I personally think it should be that way as well in that you shouldn't have to kick gens for them to regress.
I feel mixed about his proposed ruin rule, I take his point on board and fundamentaly agree with it (as explained above) in that it should already be a game mechanic.
That having been said, your forcing a perk to change an underlying mechanic of the game i.e. gens only regress when you kick them. On that note I disagree in that you should play the game for the mechanics it has. And what about devour hope for example I take it that that and all other hex perks are banned? Since if the survivors can't break ruin then they couldn't break devour since they wouldn't know if the totem as ruin or another. Maybe he mentioned this and I missed it but in BOTB tournament the use of devour was amongst the highlights.
I feel mixed about the ruin rule.
As far as your suggestion about no comms I'd be all for that! I personally think comms breaks the game; OK not all SWFs are sweaty tryhards but if they are it breaks the game. I'm all for a tournament no comes, let's see how good the survivors really are

Lately I've seen a bunch of debate over what counts as a win and what the "correct" way to play killer is. Getting as many hooks as possible or getting a 4k by any means necessary even if that means you only get 4 hooks.
I wanna know what everyone's opinion on this is and why you play the way that you do. For me personally I try to go for more hooks because for me the most rewarding way to play is to get a pip or two at the end of the match. I enjoy the grind of ranking up and doing my best to keep in the red ranks, so I play for points and emblems. Now of course there are time's where I do just go for the 4k by any means necessary, it all depends on how I feel and survivors I play against.
At the end of the day the only right way to play is in a way that you're having fun. So I just want to know how everyone plays and why they play the way they do.
I try for hooks but if survivors gen rush I'll settle for quick kills

This is exactly why tru3's rules have permanent ruin. he believes that the 90% of survivors are terrible at the game, so much so that they would lose to every killer with no perks/no add-on. he is balancing the game around the 10% of survivors because he believes that killers is under powered vs good players. Permanent Hex:Ruin is his way of balancing weak killers with dysfunctional powers not named Nurse and Spirit.
Besides, experienced survivors would laugh at permanent ruin. From my personal experience, when I was facing old Undying+ruin, I would escape with survivor many times with random solo players with Ruin being up the entire game. you do that by using the tile sets as survivor effectively and looping the killer for long time while your teammates do generators. if you get good teammates that loop well, you should be doing generators. None of hex totems are really that strong and the guy that weakened Hex:Lullaby on doc should get better at skill checks. even then, Hex totems are easy to destroy when you learn the generic spawns.
I think his tournament rules are mostly about balancing the game for people that understand the game and are not your teammates in soloqueue that go down in 30 seconds in every chase. I do not agree entirely with his point of view. I do think good survivors can beat most killers with ease if skilled but i do not think that permanent ruin is right solution to the problem.
that is my 2 cents on it.
Exactly its the top percent that the rules are based on, the ones that are ridiculously efficient on gens. If you're on a gen the whole time until the gen is completed then ruin has had no effect on that survivor. I personally think forget ruin, gens should regress automatically but that's a different story

Survivors will probably disagree for obvious reasons but I think the red stain needs to be removed. It should be more of a guessing game when mindgaming certain tiles. I shouldn't have to walk backwards so the survivor doesn't know which direction I'm looking. I just don't understand why it's a thing. I know people will say get good, learn to moonwalk, etc... I know how to do it. It's just dumb imo. Good killers hide their stain so it wouldnt really change much as far as high level players go. I don't wanna fight over it, but kinda curious how other people feel. Feel free to disagree but don't be toxic to each other.
As a killer main a lot of survivors rely too much on red stains which can be exploited

I think he should get high movement speed during T1 and I think he should have more stalk from survivors. Honestly the devs just need to fix the trash map tile spawns, even on the reworks some of the maps are just flat out bs (groaning storehouse, I have even seen coal tower with 3 jungle gym windows all facing one another for a legit infinite chain.) The graphic overhaul did not fix terrible maps, and terrible maps make M1 killers utterly weak.
The aforementioned car would give him the movement speed you speak of

I'm fine with the Shrine as a concept but I think I would like to see more perks in there now, as there's so many perks in game and I think it's really tough for new players - it's not so bad for veterans as we've mostly got the perks at this point.
Would Altering BP per game etc not be more effective in assisting new players? It would definitely be daunting for a new player with all the perks etc and even if more perks were in the shrine it still takes commitment to obtain the shards ie. Maybe not as ideal for casual players?

I admit that I main Doc, Bubba and Spirit because I can play well with them. However, I think it's actually more FUN to play with Doc, Legion, Plague and Clown.
I love throwing up on people with Plague but I spend so much time doing the vomit stuff that I lose track of actually pressuring gens and I don't usually do well with her. Legion is TONS of fun to sprint around giving them the stabby stabby but to actually get a DOWN and hook I have to become a better chaser and I can get looped to hell and back and I usually don't do great with him even though he's fun to play. Clown is a blast to throw bottles at people but, again, getting the downs and hooks are fewer and farther between than other killers. Doc is fun to give the shockey shockeys and I'm decent with him, so there's that.
Anyways, do you find that there are killers who are more fun to play as than your mains or am I alone in this?
Jumpscare Myers without a doubt. Clown with tinkerer I also enjoy because people never suspect it lol

You should have stopped after she wrote you off as being new. At that point, any chance of a meaningful discussion is over. It's clear she doesn't care what you have to say.
I get that but then that's why I questioned the definition of good etc. I get it you see it as pointless bickering but as I said (and I'm not being cheeky I mean this respectfully) its a discussion and whether productive or unproductive it's a discussion forum nonetheless.
The streamer in question is a polarising figure as far as he's outspoken and disliked for it because people agree but others disagree (he admits that himself). My point was never 'is this idea good ' its more I feel because people dislike his outspoken opinion they dislike him and therefore call him 'no good'. There's plenty of streamers i dislike. Do I like them? No. Are they good at the game? Yes
Its like saying 'I support Manchester United therefore I hate Manchester City (they're rivals fair enough of course you'll dislike them). But to say Manchester City is 'not good or a bad football team '? That's personal bias showing, nothing to do with ability.
That's really all I was trying to say. And yes you're right it may fall on deaf ears at times but other times it prompts sensible and fair discussion

Well you drive a car by putting the key in and turning it all the way forward for a few seconds, putting it in drive, putting your foot on the gas pedal and turning the steering wheel. If you wanna stop, put your foot on the brake pedal. Use one foot for both. If you wanna stop driving, put the car in park, pull up the e-brake and taking the keys out. Don't forget to lock the car so it doesn't get stolen.
This made me lol

Personally, I think the best perk for new survivors is Bond. Bond is very helpful especially for new players. One of the biggest annoyances with new survivors is when they run right to you while they’re being chased, but Bond solves that issue.

Congratulations, you messed up and gave me extra pressure. Yes, you might flashy save once or twice but all that time you followed me around, you could have been on gens and do main objective of the game.
Don't be like that guys, use flashy if you see opportunity, don't follow me around the whole time just to flashy save, it is terribly unfun and easily counterable..

It's about the stupid rules not him.
Many things make a player good: Being aware, knowing when to let go of a gen, map knowledge, looping skills, knowing when to drop the pallet, knowing when to go for a safe, knowing all killers powers, predicting their addons and perks and counterplaying them, etc. Just a bunch of experience you have to get to become a really good player. Most average survivor lack a deep understanding of most of those aspects, even big streamers.
'Most average survivors lack a deep understanding of most of those aspects, even big streamers'
So based on this definition an average player have a basic but not much better understanding of the forementioned aspects.
To me, good would be a reasonable understanding of the above aspects.
And excellent/top/exceptional players would have the deep understanding.
So if these definitions are fair (I think they are) can you really say true isn't a good player? Being not a good player means being worse than average and I don't think anyone can say he is that. Does he not at the very least have 'a REASONABLE understanding to make him above average (average as defined by you that is?

I think the killers that relied on old ruin the most got hurt the most. I think new ruin is only really suited to killers with good map control

If you have 5 years of gamplay experience you will most likely maintain your rank. A 200 hour player could do that. Even if you get 0 kills you barely depip because of the black pip. Not maintaining red rank is actually a hard thing lol. I know you must be new because you have that opinion.
Nope not a new player and with all due respect I can't help but feel that you're letting your personal feelings for this streamer cloud your judgement. Plus you haven't answered my question; what makes a player good?

A 150 hours player can be rank 1 easily. That proves nothing. He plays for 5 years, ofc he is rank 1. If you play for 7 hours a day EVERYONE would be rank one. It's just a representation of how much you play, you will get rank 1 eventually if you play a lot. Doesn't mean you are good.
Yeah but with every single killer? So how do you define good then? Plus you've completely missed the point of im not sayign hes good just because he's rank 1, he's good because he is at rank 1 maintains it AND plays every single killer. There's a difference between 'good' and 'excellent ' surely you're not saying that at the very least he 'isn't good ' ?

Me too. I'm not saying every single thing is perfect but as someone already mentioned no one gets 100% with a first draft

For the normal game of course it’s a terrible idea

@RaSavage42 said:
Ok... I feel kinda lost (probably cause I play casually)

Based on the 'The Best of the Best tournament ';
Survivor
- Generator being completed = 2 points
- An survivor escaping = 2 points
Total number of points for survivors is 10 (2 per generator for 5 generators) + 8 (2 per survivor escaping for 4 survivors)
= 18 points
Killer
- 1 point per hook
- 1 point per death
- not awarded points for survivor processing a hook stage
(So hooking a survivor 3 times to death would be 3 points for the hooks and 1 for the death making 4. If a survivor was hooked once and died through the stages (I.e. not saved ) then it would be 2 in total - 1 for the hook and 1 for the death)
Thats the basic rules but its more tactical. Killers sometimes face camp survivors tk death because although the killer gets less points, he's depriving the survivors of points (if someone dies you've deprived the surviving team of 2 points immediately since they won't escape, plus 1 less survivors reduces gen efficiency etc)
Its also not altruistic because at the end of the game if 3 survivors are at an exit gate and one on hook the they'll often leave the person to die to get the survival points.
Basically True wants to make it more about saves, pubish slugging and camping etc
Hope this helps!

What kind of kill rate do you want so you would finally be statisfied? According to some voices here, people seem to want to 4k legit every single match. I mean do you guys realize the othr side of the same coin wants to have fun too?
A kill rate of 100% is NOT balance! Balance would be 50/50 which means killers getting a average of 2k in most matches.
As a killer main but as someone who also plays survivor I agree with you. It makes me cringe when killer mains moan about not getting a 4k every match. I want balance but not balance to favour killers ACTUAL balance in the game where neither side as a ridiculous edge for some reason other than skill. All I can say is please don't think all killer mains are like this, they represent us badly

I've been getting so many recent complaints about me running bbq, and survivors are always telling me it's stupid how overpowered it is. I can't for the life of me understand how it's overpowered. It can literally be hard countered by just being close enough or just sitting behind a gen or jumping in a locker real quick. The aura reading barely means much because by the time you get there that person is most likely going to be gone. In my opinion bbq is literally the most fair perk in the game in terms of design. It's mediocre at tracking, but it rewards you for actually doing your objective. While a lot of survivor perks are rewarded for failure.
They need something to blame because obviously its not that they played bad, it must be BBQ

Also you can not deny no matter how much you don't like tru which I don't even like him that much he has a lot of knowledge on this game. Out of all the content creators you mentioned tru has the most spread out knowledge some like otz or scott have it for specific killers like trapper oni or huntress but he plays every killer and is decent enough to help new players just by them watching him play.

Respecting him getting to rank 1? LOL Every decent player knows rank means almost nothing. I get to rank 1 both sides without even trying and so does everybody else. Why do you think are so many noob survivors and killers at rank 1? Because it's incredibly easy to rank up.
Also, I'm not saying he is mediocre because I don't like him, I say he is mediocre because his gameplay is mediocre. I've watched enough of his streams to know that. He misjudges situations so often, blames the game for it and then tries to talk himself out of the situation because he knows "everything" about the game.
We'll have to agree to disagree. He gets and stays at rank 1 with every single killer, thats not being mediocre. I'm not saying because he's rank 1 he's good I'm saying he maintains it while playing every killer. I dont dispute that it is easy to achieve rank 1, I'm saying he does it consistently with every killer and has done for a long time. That's not being mediocre

I definitely run kindred, but you find kindred invaluable
I think as a solo survivor its a perk that's God Class. Gives your teammates no excuse not to get you (unless neing facecamped) but also you can see the killer within a radius. Doing a gen? You'll see if the killer is coming your way. Considering going for the save? You'll see if its safe or not. As a solo survivor if you gave me just one perk to use and nothing else kindred would be it. Also helps efficiency massively (assuming your teammates are competant). Instead of 3 potential survivors going for 1 save they can see what everyone else is doing. Honestly for a solo Q it's God Class

Leave 1 gen out of your patrol pattern for about 15 seconds, they'll come to it
Lol like rats coming out of a sewer 😄
