Without expecting an optimal team. That is how I play. Whatever happens happens. And I don't feel like playing this game with my friends, I prefer the other games where we can relax.

I agree, dont expect the other survivors to be optimal and you won't get frustrated

  • @DjangoTheGhostface said:

Now deep down everyone knows that true but what some of you may not know is that after this patch....its still true.

Ive progressively seen more and more people post about it being unplayable. I haven't been able to play in about a week but after the patch i almost exclusively played survivor because killer can be such a chore (ironically survivor gameplay literally revolves around chores)

Ive been a survivor main since the blight did the impossible and made me more interested in playing a new survivor than the killer, but not only do i not play perfectly i don't even try. Still, mostly escapes. As a solo, duo, and trio. And this was even with the disappointing lack of baby nurses. I keep hearing how bad the hitboxes are and yeah they are bullshit....like they've always been? I realize its PC players who are mostly complaining but ive seen my friends use this as an excuse for why they die too.

All im saying is maybe survivor is too hard for you guys...maybe try killer? We could use the reduced que times

The bait is strong with this one

Last one for tonight but I've had about three games so far where I've unhooked survivors safe, healed survivors safe, took hits, finished gens with and without resilience, took chase for at least two gens and yes I said only two gens I'm still fairly new to the game and I know how killers feel about gen rushing so I've been doing totems, opened both gates at end game to help out injured survivors I mean anything you can name I've done and I find myself getting hooked one time and getting left behind and finding out I had about thirty something odd points while my teammates had less then twenty should I start being selfish when the exit gates open and just leave or should I be more patience?

At this particular moment of time...probably. Also run Kindred if you don't already, you'll find it invaluable

I just saw a legion doing exactly. that

  • @madminer95 said:

Survivors have been given a separated hook widget to let them know when to take hits to prevent someone on death hook going down or to prevent them wasting time running to unhook if someone's on death hook.

But killers are being denied the same information with the The dev's excuse of "the concern we have is this would encourage tunneling a bit too much" which is completely illogical considering if a killer is going to tunnel they'll still do exactly what they do now and go back to the hook as soon as the survivor is unhooked and only chase them with no need for the counter.

in that same conversation they state they don't see tunneling as an issue, they see it as a valid tactic.

this really begs the question why should a killer have to remember each survivors hook state but the survivors be given that information freely?

I'm woth you on that one

  • @NomiNomad said:

A prime reason for nerfing Mori's (rightfully so) was the Dev's not wanting an offering to be so powerful. So why are map offerings still in the game? Either side can bring one of these and immediately the game is so much harder for the other side.

It just feels like Map offerings are some of the best things a person can bring that massively change how the game is played, where-as all the other offerings don't do too much or do absolutely nothing other than give more BP.

Completely agree. Survivors can make a build based on a map (e.g. balanced landing for haddonfield) how is that not OP?

Not sure if I’m the only one having this issue on the Switch but... Ever since the release of the Descend Beyond Chapter, several maps have become way darker than they used to be to the point where I can’t see anything: As survivor, I can’t see pallets or windows - As killer, I find myself consistently swinging at nothing or bumping into walls. (See picture below of me playing Wraith at Gideon Meat Plant.) Midwich, Autohaven, Dead Dawg and Badham are just as bad.

I’ve tried changing the brightness settings on my TV with no success but... Really my main point is that I didn’t use to have this problem until the Blight showed up. This has gotten so frustrating as I lose a lot of games because I can’t see where I’m going.

Can anyone else with a Switch relate to this? Or am I alone in this experience?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/I4HFWQYDY10V/image.jpg

I encountered this problem. I turned brightness up max. Problem is it drains tje battery so quickly that it defeats the purpose of being a portable console. I'm just gonna stick with ps4

There's way to many elements that go into different matches for this game to be geared towards one side. Someone who plays/goes against forever Freddy on the weekdays in the morning would say this game is killer sided vs. a plague or wraith playing on the weekends in the evening would say it's survivor sided. This game is honestly pig-sided, which is why they should nerf her.

Killer vs survivor is because you're one or the other; people play both but will always lean to one side. Killer side is complex because as you stated mechanics being OP for some killers aren't for others

  • @PhantomChimera said:

Don't you just love it when your keeping the killer distracted and when they finally hook you see the silhouette of all three of the other survivors huddled together doing nothing all the while thinking they are using the time to repair generators.

Tis the life of solo. So many survivors are not efficient

  • @KiwiCoattails said:

My main survivor is Ash. I’m a massive fan of the Evil Dead series and I’ve met Bruce Campbell at a few conventions and he’s a genuinely lovely guy. I still can’t believe Ash is a playable survivor lol. I also have a soft spot for Claudette, Felix and David.

For killer, my mains are Michael and Demo. Both are good boys. <3

That's cool! What was he like?

I main Steve (because I look a lot like him lol)

Killer is Freddy, Spirit, Wraith, Myers and Clown

  • @konochivu said:

Let me ask you one simple thing. Why killers run undying in the first place? Because totem RNG is busted on some open maps like cold wind farm where most totems are in the open. Killers are forced to run some kind of gen defense build in order to not get simply gen rushed by survivors and here the thing, competitive and decent survivors always spread out and work solo on gen, no matter how much good killer you're are survivors simply can drop the pallet to make chase longer which is fair, however, what is not fair that after you down a survivor and hook them there's always 2~3 gens popped. Yes, ruin + undying was busted but removing aura reveal on lit totem wasn't necessary simply because the killer actually has to go back to the totems which is also some time for survivors to finish gen in the far distance.

That's my opinion you have the right to agree or disagree with me, let's have a talk about it.

It needed changed slightly but not nerfed to the ground. A lot of people forget ruin+undying ONLY WORKED if pressuring gens so therefore camping hooks etc meant you'd get little to no value for it. With the red envelopes has come increased gen rushing and although I try not to if I'm against 4 very efficient survivors I've had to resort to tunnelling or proxy camping. Take away my tools and I'll resort to desperate Measures. I'm not gonna let 4 people gen rush me and expect a simple escape. Ruin Undying wasn't the be all and end all but it was powerful anti gen rushing. So survivors shouldn't be shocked to see increased tunnelling/camping

Lately I no longer see anyone using any Memento from either Cypress, Ivory and Ebony in my games when I play survivor. Maybe in your case it is different, but lately in mine I don't see any sign of memento mori. Is it because the rate of increase of the use of the 3 offerings has dropped considerably after the nerf they gave? Since before they used it a lot and eliminated the 1 hanging hook.

    They're useless now

  • @Phasmamain said:

For me it’s wraith as he’s pretty weak but most veterans make him look top tier. Runner up is billy since they’re and endangered species and most who play him are really chill

It’s probably the only perk in the game that I can’t live without. It just makes my solo experience so much better. I love knowing when I should go for the unhook and what direction the killer went in. It’s honestly so useful and I’m surprised I don’t see it more often. I love being altruistic and giving people back rubs with my Ashy Slashy. <3

Special shout-out to the people that sit on generators and leave me to go to struggle, even though they can see that the rest of the team are doing the same thing.

Cant agree more, I've said in a few different posts how Kindred is mandatory on Solo Q. I also highly rate Bond

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

I always liked playing wraith and since his recent buffs i have been playing him more, for those that are playing decent amount what do you use on him?

My current build is bbq, myc, mindbreaker, and pop. it is kinda meta but wraith isn't very oppressive so i think it's fine.

for addons i use a lot of windstrom but i also sometimes like to put on a very rare breaking speed addon with the addon where breaking something uncloaks him and i then replace mindbreaker with brutal strength. it's not the best but it is pretty fun especially if there are breakable walls around.

    Sloppy with nurses is so good on wraith, can make a fun hit and run build along the lines of;

    1) A Nurses Calling

    2) Sloppy Butcher

    3) Thanataphobia

    4) BBQ/Thrilling Tremors/ PGTW

This hit and run is just an idea though, different ways to play Wraith

  • As killer some of the 'As any means necessary ' plays have been hilarious. On survivor side I agree that the sabo hook challenge just irritates me.

  • But...

BHVR is a business and new survivors = new perks = Interest.

I'd like them to fix existing problems but they'll still release new chapters etc because it keeps people interested and makes money.

This is just a realistic point of view

Wait what? Undying Ruin not being a healthy gameplay? Killer had to pressure survivors to get any benefit from it. Pressuring survivors means he´s not camping. The tradeoff basically killed the perk.

Exactly my thoughts. It was healthy in the game by giving killers tools to combat gen rushing. Take that away and as mentioned killers will result to other methods

  • As someone already mentioned you had to pressure survivors as well; resting on your laurels was never gonna work unless against potatoes. OK transfered so many times was maybe ott but ruin is near dead. All I'm saying is take away tools and killers will resort to camping and/or tunnelling. Then in a few months we'll see even more posts about camping and tunnelling on the forum. I stand by what I said if in the hands of a competent killer ruin undying was good for the game

Said in the video, written in the picture : you don't stop the Entity if you are chasing in the radius of the Hook, if you know there's a Survivor here and you find him you don't get punished for staying in the zone. Please take all I say in count guys.

    Apologies I misread

WARNING : this post summarize the big lines of the concepts, all details are taken in count in the full version video.

Watch it here with extra bonuses : https://youtu.be/KQc6bSBOQi0

So what do you propose if there's a survivor within 20 meters of the hook, I'm not allowed to chase because I'll get punished? You don't see the potential for abuse by other survivors? It's a firm no from me

  • @Arbmos1998 said:

    • Survivors hate Tunnelling and Camping.
    • Survivors also hate Gen Regression/Defense Perks that allows the Killer to extend the match without having to Tunnel/Camp. (Ruin +Undying rewarded Killers for Map Control a and allowed Killer to do multiple chases).

Survivors - Rushes gens in 3-4 mins giving the Killer no time to do multiple chases or get close to the 12 Hook counter. What does this cause?

    • Camping
    • Tunnelling
    • Slugging

    Pop - Nerfed

    Ruin - Nerfed

    Undying - Nerfed

    Pig Traps - Nerfed

Freddy Add-Ons - Nerfed (Most likely will again)

So my question is this. If Survivor mains hated Ruin + Undying so much are you guys actually wanting the Killer to play more lame as that is the direction the game is heading. I don't like Camping nor Tunnelling but let's be honest we have all had at least 1 match where we have been forced to do so to secure a Kill after a 3-4 min game. Not only does this create very unfun gameplay for Killer but it's obviously very unfun for Survivors.

Undying had 0 reason to be nerfed as it allows Killers to somewhat follow the Survivor Rule book to allow them to last longer in a match but for some reason Undying was considered "Unhealthy" for the game. How is a Perk that allows the match to be longer than 3-4 mins unhealthy for the game exactly? Meanwhile perks like Insidious are still in this game, a perk that is honestly only used for 1 lame purpose. Insidious could be great if reworked correctly so it actually has a good purpose.

I wouldn't be surprised if Devour got some sort of Nerf later down the track as that has recently replaced Ruin but if the Devs want to use "Stats" for their Balance then by that logic we should be seeing a Nurse buff at some stage, I'm personally fine with Nurse at the moment, I play her without addons but if the devs want to go off stats then I won't say no to a buff to her.

I said this ages ago as well; nerf a combo that promotes healthy play and you'll male killers resort to camping/tunnelling. Then that'll be moaned about again. Take away the killers tools and they'll resort to desperate measures

  • @Dragonshensi said:

Just had a match where all three teammates were focused solely on gens and nothing else. I was the only one not a try hard red rank. I saved multiple people from hooks and these three didn’t even bother to try and save me. They just focused on gens and said he was camping! He was nowhere near me. Done with these people.

I feel your pain. It's why as a solo I run kindred (although that doesn't always work 100% of the time, but when it doesn't and killer isn't camping your teammates really are the biggest potatoes if they let you die 1 hook. But its annoying, you shouldn't have to run kindred. If the killer is camping then doing gens is efficient but sounds like these guys were making excuses.

With survivor rank wonky just now I'm running Kindred (anti camp), DS (anti tunnel although not always effective against hard tunnel) and bond (at high rank overall but not always survivors will try run the killer away from remaining gens. At low rank definitely not the case. So at least I can see them coming). Im running these 3 and a 4th of choice every single game just now

    I agree to 1000%

The gap between PC and console blight is waaaay to big now.

It feels like you have to use turnrate addons just to get the addonless PC blight performance.

Also also we can't do the 180 flick that pc players can do with blight.

    Console blight NEEDS adjustments.

Fully agree. Playing Blight on console makes me angry lol 🤣

  • Its strong enough as is and I don't think survivors should get BP just because they never got to use it. If you did that where would it stop? Decisive, unbreakable etc

Huntress Lullaby: Pretty much only usable on doctor, I've gotten 5 stacks more times than I care to count but survivors still don't miss the skill checks. It takes way to long to build up stacks on a perk with limited value and can be destroyed

Third Seal: Remember this perk? The one that makes people blind when you hit them? No? Me neither.

Blood Favor: It blocks pallets that are 16 meters away from you... meaning this only works on survivors that get hit, but try to camp a pallet nearby instead of running away. Yeah... good luck ever getting use out of that

Retribution: I mean, you'd think that it'd be good for it to be a hex perk, so you can get the effect more often, but if they cleanse it first...

You could even argue that Thrill of the Hunt shouldn't be a hex perk since it's an extra totem you have to defend without knowing if it's even worth defending it.

Or you could just run any of these with undying... and play with 2 perks for most of the game.

Agree with all but unsure about 3rd seal. It's dependent on survivors if SWF or not. If SWF agree its very weak. As a solo survivor myself, when I rarely come across it it can be a nightmare of a game. I think in that case too strong to be a non hex perk. It's a victim of circumstance 3rd seal

If it makes you feel any better, I make it a rule to never do things like this as killer, along with running Stridor on Spirit (unless it was hitting an Élodie on hook with het old scream). I play survivor more often than killer and know how annoying Spirit can be so I try not to play like other Spirits. One thing I cannot stand about other Spirit players is when they run Stridor to counter Iron Will and then shake their head at a survivor they just downed, as though they could have done anything about it.

I ran stridor on spirit for the tome challenge and felt bad for doing it. I fully agree playing both sides makes you not only a better player but a more empathetic one. Also about the head shaking you mentioned its just about respect, only time I'd ever do that would be to a toxic t-bagger

  • @MrsPuddles said:

I’ve noticed that every Spirit player I’ve gone against has one thing in common, they all try to be as annoying as possible. Such as extreme tunnelling, hitting people on the hook over and over, slugging the last survivor and just following them around instead of hooking etc. I’ve noticed it more with Spirit than any other killer. What is it about Spirit that attracts these type of players? 🤔

I'm a spirit main and I try and play as fairly as possible; I think because spirit is a powerful killer (not OP as most would say but top tier), people have an automatic stigma against her. I thjnk as well its highlighted more than other killers; because spirit is more powerful than an average killer the theory would be they don't have to resort to the tactics you mentioned ie extreme tunnelling. So when they do that its even more annoying

  • For farming it goes without saying BBQ.

I'd also include PGTW. Ruin is too unreliable for my liking right now since undying nerf

Saboteur was nerfed (a huge one) when toolboxes got nerfed overall but this thread is for all those that uses or has used this perk to some degree and the strategies and builds used with it. Im one of if not the only survivor that plays Sabo at red ranks (and rank 5) ie that plays it seriously and i'd like all those that are interested to share they're Saboteur builds and or strategies & experiences with it. Here are some general notes about Saboteur

    Old Sabo

    • You could up to 99% hooks
    • Hook repawns were generally 3-4 1/2 minutes

    New Sabo

    • Once Saboing cancelling will cancel the Sabo action all together
    • Hook respawns are considerably shorter (even hooks Sabo'ed with toolboxes)
    • There is now a cooldown for the perk

The thing with Sabo builds is that they can be effective and even very effective depending on your map awareness and your team. Sabo builds require that you interact with the other survivors and killer more than normal and also requires foretell, scouting and adapting to situations on the fly which makes it both interesting (fun personally) and hard to play depending again on the team and the situation. Here is my main Sabo build

    Builds

    w Alex's Toolbox

1)Saboteur/Breakout/Breakdown/Boil Over (my personal main Sabo build)

Purpose/point: To waste as much of the killers time as possible by Saboing nearby hooks of an approaching killer and interacting and "saving survivors" often thanks to Breakout

    2) Saboteur/Flip Flop/Unbreakable/Boil Over

Purpose/point: To waste as much of the killers time as generally possible by Saboing and running to a corner, get up with Unbreakable and survey the situation.

    3) Saboteur/Tenacity/Flip Flop/Power Struggle

PP: Havent tried this yet but will

    4) Saboteur/Breakout/Empathy/Deadhard

PP: A more aggressive style than 1 above as you are more head on with interactions of other survivors

Please share your Sabo builds and or strategies here

As A killer main i detest Sabo builds. So when people sabo a hook in front of me I will drop the survivor I'm carrying and tunnel the Saboteur to death. That is my sabo strategy
