    Hello guys,

I've read here and there that Freddy is the worst killer. I've encountered him a couple of time and couldn't understand what happened there.

I heard the lullaby #runforyourlife and the screen became blurry, I assumed I was being put to sleep. I continued running and then pouf (imagine a pretty FX) I jumped into the dreamworld with Freddy right behind me hitting me right away.

This situation happened 3 times in the game and I died. Sad.

Question is: How can I avoid being put to sleep? Running when hearing the lullaby is not a good option? I think of buying this killer just to understand more how he works.

    Thanks !

User premonition, spine chill. I f you can hear the song try to hide somewhere behind cover Once you are put to sleep run towards a loop he's gonna be right behind you, you can still stun him with pallets before the transition. Sc, repair a gen or find another survivor. Try to wake up on your own instead of leading him to other survivors. Once you are far enough from him he will see you aura. I find taking a hit and sc after is the easiest way. You can also sc while looping which will waste his time since he 's gonna have to put you to sleep again. By the time he'll catch up with you half the gens are gonna be done.

Ruin doesn't last more than a minute because of 10/10 game design.
    Blood Lodge exists.
Devs added slow quick vaults when coming in from angles to a window. Haven't added them to pallets yet.
    Obnoxious loop spots.
    Freddy's lunge range.

Clown is a good counter to loopers.

Most probably he says that as a survivor though. He can't choose to face clowns. It is up to the killer whether he will use clown or another killer.

FYI I mostly play killer. You can always take bamboozle with any killer. Nurse, hag, doctor , trapper can all counter looping as well. But this loop needs to be reworked

Using it never results in a save. It's always well it almost saved me or it was almost useful. Needs a buff or a rework because it's especially useless if the killer has iron grasp due to the perks just nearly cancelling out and wiggling off a killer is only possible when survivors body block and the killer doesn't have iron grasp or if the killer is really far from a hook. The small 2% you get to wiggle free might as well not be there because you will almost never save yourself using this perk you're better off with just about anything else.

Are expecting to wiggle out every time??

  • Toxic people are generally self-conscious individuals trying to compensate for something,

  • My guess the majority of players do since it's free, ps4 has nearly x2 more sales then xbox and considering you can't get banned from DBD at all, even for cheating - it's up to sony, the games are a lot more toxic. You can only get banned for ps4 code of conduct breach from psn. Same goes for the xbox.

The killer will know when he's going up against swf on coms.

Survivors join at the same time = SWF

It doesn't mean its swf. On ps4 I never had to wait for people to join for more then 15-20 seconds and they always join together.

It doesnt mean automatically that its SWF, but the chances are high if they join at the same time (same second).
A very good indicator for SWF is when they join in so fast after each other that the lobby "laggs" and the sound that plays when a survivor joins messes up because of the multiple survivors joining.
Since you only wait 15 sec for a new lobby you can easily dodge large SWF if you wanna avoid them

As I was saying before there is no difference the way they join on ps4. I always get lobbys with 4 survivors joining at the same time. DBD was free on ps plus so there's a ton of people playing. There is no wait time as there's no time gap between survivors joining in and the laggy sound/video effect is always there.

  • The killer will know when he's going up against swf on coms.

  • It's already nerfed beyond recognition.

  • We already have similar mechanics pig with reverse bear traps they also had games with poison in movies so it could be just an addon replacing them which wouldn't change anything and clown can hit you with a bottle and down you in one hit. And if you could only get the antidote in one spot killer would just camp. I think we have enough Wraiths and Pigs a it is.

  • I prefer empathy since people will get injured at least once during the game plus the range is unlimited. And you can tell where the killer is once he'll start chasing someone. Being able to tell what everyone is doing across the map is a far better advantage for me.

  • I've only encountered lagswitch a few times. It's not that common, at least on ps4

    So story time incoming.

I was playing as a hag and managed to get 5 tokens on Devour hope. After I killed 2 survivors and 3 gens were left I managed to find a Feng and nodded at her that I'm coming for her. But she just stood there and pointed at me to follow her. I got interested in what she wanted so I didn't kill her right away and followed.
She led me to the hatch and pointed at it and started nodding. I understoond that she'll sell out the last survivor (Claudette) for the hatch to me. So I kept following and eventually she led me to her so I ate her and gave Feng the hatch. For me it was quite funny which is why I did it but as you might know Claudette was very unpleasent about it and reported Feng for it.

So any mods out there is it okay to sometimes sell out teammates for our own survival if that is our best bet to survive or we should never do it even if it happens in like 1 out of 100 games ?

Yes. It's working with killer. But it is funny and I thought myself about doing something like this myself, like pointing at a survivor while the killer is chasing you. But I'd kill Feng and let Claudette go.

    Hello y'all.
So, playing against the Hag many times, I've come to a conclusion: she's given too much room for mistakes or improper placements. She has a lot of trap spamming on her side, and I think the traps she can place should be changed in one of two ways.

1 - Her traps get reduced from 10 to 5, this way she won't be able to spam them on a gen or on a hooked survivor, trying to bodyblock. In this case, to give her some form of compensation, her traps are no longer erased by flashlights. As of right now, there is little to no chance a Hag will place less then 3 traps near a hooked survivor, who will start running as soon as he is unhooked, most of the times. I've seen a Hag place 6, SIX, traps below a friend who was hooked. Of course, many times 3 traps are placed near gens as well.

2 - Her traps will keep being 10, but they will start decaying over time when she places them, and fully disappear in about 20 - 25 seconds. Also, I think it wouldn't be bad for her to be given the need to recharge her traps in a Huntress fashion. If the Hag is played, some shrines could spawn around the map, where she must head in order to get her traps back (it would be a faster interaction than that of the Huntress).

Now, I know those who main her will disagree, because people like to have things the easiest way, but this is my take. Any constructive thoughts?

I don't think she needs a nerf she's already slow. And the fact that people place 5 traps in the same spot doesn't change any thing they are just wasting their own time. Hag is more of a mind game character that will prevent you from looping and slow down the game. And being able to erase it with flashlight is a must have otherwise you remove the only counter while walking or running. And they shouldn't disappear since with hag you'll prepare your traps at the beginning of the game before looking for survivors. Since she'll want to put her traps at the windows and pallets to compensate for her speed. If she's not chasing you her traps are useless and once you get her totems she just become regular killer with 110% speed.

This game has a bad habit of well... looking the same with hardly any real area changes I mean majority of the maps all look alike to an extreme and it's nice to see some change with the new map coming out but man I'd kill for a map that's taking place during a blizzard you know?

I've seen horror movies that have taken place in the snow but yeah maybe this is a pipe dream given the games mechanics but still be nice.

It would be nice for tracking survivors

  • @Master said:
You should be able to change this in the keybindings?

Both actions are the same button it does matter if you change it from r1 to r2 or w/e . She'll still perform vaults and sc with r2

  • They'd make a lot more money just by decreasing the price and adding more customization options.

I have never camped with him and never played one who was camping. He is not meant for camping with perks like bbq and chili(which makes you go after the survivor after a hook) ,franklin's demise(hitting as many people as possible as fast as possible, most of the time prioritizing hitting a second survivor instead of just downing one) and knock out(after slugging you can just live them there and go after the next victim)

What are ANY other decent perks on Leatherface, as I feel completely ineffective without these.

    Many thanks!

I usually use bbq and chili, franklin's demise, noed and bitter murmur. Or sub bitter murmur with distressing for some extra points. With bbq and chili, bitter murmur and noed he is extremely powerful at his end game. Since survivors will usually group up and work on the same gen. That's when slugging with comes in.

  • Yea lets remove lockers and take away weapons from killers and you were the one taking a game hostage by just standing there

Like the devs just reworked this perk and then a month and a half later are releasing a perk that does almost the exact same thing MINUS a few seconds of aura reading PLUS a one hit down PLUS the ability to mori a survivor.

I prefer a 10 second aura reading it gives you time to close the distance. Combined with noed and bbq and chili is a good way to slug and track survivors at the end. Also with rancor you can just run in the opposite direction after 3 seconds to trick the killer. Also half the time I find myself doing something when its active breaking a pallet, hooking etc.

Hello, I would like to say something in ps4 when I have playstaiton plus on my account I can not get any killers or anything on another account says "Try it online!" and when I go to my main account, it says. Nothing only buy or overview am not sure if this is a bug or glitch. Thank you.

You get Trapper, Billy, Wraith, Nurse, Doctor and Hag for free. Nightmare, Shape, Cannibal, Huntress or Pig have to be bought from psn store. Clown can be bought with shards (9000). You can buy entire chapters or just killer/survivor separately. Except Cannibal he's a one man package but costs less.

  • @PinkEricka said:
No. The only DLC that is free is “A Lullaby For The Dark”. You have to buy the rest of the killers.

In the game, in your bloodweb on any killer, you can grind to try and get an ultra-rare add-on called a “splinter”. It will allow you to try a killer out before you buy the DLC.

I’ve never tried a splinter offering, so I have no idea how long it would take to appear in your bloodweb.

I got 2 black and 1 glass splinter in 4 bloodweeb trees the other day. but it was the first time I ever got them.

  • I play killer mostly and I'm fine with that. You can always wait until they are all ready and then hit ready yourself right away.

  • Buff his movement speed while charging up the chainsaw, reduce stun duration unless he hits an object.

Unless the survivors you are playing are in a SWF group or being carried by high ranked survivors, running top tier add ons is just redundant. Even below average killers can 4k all day at low ranks. I'm gonna link a picture and you tell me that you honestly feel this should be socially acceptable. Keep in mind, this isn't a one time thing, this happens often,

I don't see a single thing wrong with this picture. If the killer will continue to play this way he' won't be in low level bracket much longer and will face more experienced survivors. while survivors will respectfully derank, making it a little easier for them. That's how the balance is maintained. Plus there is a rank reset every month.(some people might not touch the game for weeks) I only have Leatherface, Claudette and Nea leveled up the rest are lvl 1-15. So a lot of times I go up against lvl 9-11 with one crappy perk. It doesn't matter what you rank is. It all depends what you decide get from bloodweb and when to use it. You can play with 1 character but spend bp on someone else. I'm not even gonna mention gen rush with 4-man toolbox squad.

  • @iceman2kx said:
@HellDescent That's just not true and I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. I have 0 survivor experience and was able to get down to level 15 in less than half a day. Then, I still have to grind out every teachable and unlock them in a bloodweb somewhere. So does every other new player.

The subject that I've brought up multiple times in this thread is killers running crazy add ons and offerings along with optimal FOTM perks from other killers to straight slaughter these teams of new players. Are they wrong? Absolutely not. They are utilizing mechanics and abusing a terrible ranking system implemented in this game. However, I'll stand by what I say 100%, if you're the killer run ultra rare/ebonys against these types of teams, you're lame. Also keep in mind, this isn't like a "once in a while" thing, this happens pretty frequent. So, yes, it does get old fast.

In my mind set, being at a low bracket, that's where I would try add ons that aren't necessarily useful but fun to run. Or play killers that I'm just bad with.

You can run ebony addons and rare items at any level. The whole point of addons/items is to give you an edge over survivors/killers in order to rank up. Even though since I stared playing the game I've only used them 5-10 times and saving any item I've escaped with. Just so that I always will have something to use at higher levels later(probably because I'm too cheap like that). But the games constantly gives you something every level and they are unlimited, so why not use them.?

  • On console you do it after the game is over(thumbs down/up icon). Don't know about pc.

  • @Babatom said:
I can't decide whether to continue the bloodwebs of my level 50s to get all of the perks, or to prestige them. I know prestiging apparently gives better items but is this actually the case or a complete myth?

With the cosmetic store, I'm not interested in collecting the bloody gear, so is there any point in me prestiging?

If you want the cosmetic. As for getting better items from what I heard your chance increases by 1% only.

  • Also there is no need for it in q&a when there are so many questions about balance and bug fixes. And if we don't get it this summer there is definitely gonna be one at the end of October

Like in Freddy Vs Jason, they brought Freddy into the real world that way Freddy can use his dream demon power or just become a regular killer (Just an idea)

They could give him addon. Whenever you wake up survivor he will bring Freddy from the dream for a limited amount of time. Then people would rely more on gens and heals to wake up since once you wake someone up Freddy is gonna be near by and can interact with you as well

  • Sleep-eze.

Before anyone jumps on me for the title, I'm a killer main myself and this is pretty much a QQ post. I've just recently gotten into survivor with probably <5 hours played as survivor. Even though I know a little bit about the mechanics and game play, I still SUCK and get owned often. I'm terrible at looping and skill checks and I often get caught. Shouldn't that be the norm for rank 15 players though?

So my question is, why are there killers at 13/14/15 running these super sweaty builds to straight murder these new survivors? At this level, my teammates (myself included) are running lame perks or no perks due to character level. I'm running into killers often with fotm builds (ruin/bbq etc) running ebony moris and ultra rare addons. What gives dudes? As a killer main myself, I find this pretty gross and dishonorable behavior. I don't even start running addons until blue ranks, even then I'll seldom do it.

For so long, I've always wondered why survivors were so toxic at the end of rounds with salty trolls and tea bagging at the gate. Now, I don't even blame them.

tl;dr: I'm disappointed in the community I belong to.

I you are in 10-15 level bracket you shouldn't be new. As for the items it's a part of the game. People use whatever they wanna use and how they see fit that's why they give it to you in bloodweb. I always see survivors with toolboxes and medkits. So whats wrong with using items or addons? You play how you want.

Do you consider trapper so strong that doesn't need any changes ?

No, Trapper could use minor changes but RNG is not a good idea at all.

Here are the changes i propose:

Buff: Trapper now holds 2 Traps by default.    One trap is removed from the map to compensate.

QOL: Trapper can now reset disarmed bear traps on the ground while holding max. capacity.

QOL: Escaping a bear trap is now a fixed push and hold that takes around 10-15 seconds. This is affected by perks and addons on both sides. This change is actually a nice QOL change on both sides.

There's an addon for starting with 2 traps

When are they going to announce it. The lack of transparency from this company is actually horrendous. We we're told it would be "This summer" and it's not September and we have yet to hear anything, as well as them bringing it up during the stream and saying "we cant talk about it" then don't bring it up in the first place. They didn't even include it int he Q&A when it is a highly asked question.

I asked at the end of bbq event, this is what one of the mods said : "There is no officially announced date yet, however, it's supposed to be a summer blood hunt, and summer technically ends on September 21st.

So y'know, take that how you will, the window of time is pretty small.."

I'll quickly explain what this game mode is and after I get done explaining the game mode, I'll explain why it will have a positive influence on DBD.

    DAYLIGHT RUN:

    2v10 Chaos

There will be four parts of the map, each with randomized geography and structures. The first area will have 5 generators but only 3 will need to be completed, once the 3 generators are powered on, both survivors and killer's will need to make their way to the next area within 30 seconds. If the killer doesn't make it to the next area, the killer will be sucked into the ground and will randomly respawn somewhere in the map taking a total 25 seconds. If a survivor doesn't make make it to the next area, the survivor will be instantly sacrificed and eliminated from the trial. Each area will have a additional generator that needs to be completed, here's the chart:

Area 1: 2 generators; 5 generators in this area
Area 2: 3 generators; 6 generators in this area
Area 3: 4 generators; 7 generators in this area
Finale: 2 generators; 4 generators in this area + 3 Exit gates

    HOW TO SACRIFICE A SURVIVOR:

In this mode, a survivor can be eliminated by 3 methods: Bleeding out, failing to reach the next area, or by being mori'd.

You cannot hook survivors in this mode but can instantly down the survivors with a single melee or ranged attack when you are in the finale area. When the exit gates are powered, you can now mori every survivor that you down to prevent them from escaping. Survivors dying state bleed out timer is reduced to 2 minutes to make up for the loss of hooks.

    DONE!

That's my suggestion to add something new to DBD, everyone was asking for a KWF mode but I wanted it to be very different to our current 1v4, 5 generators game mode.

This can introduce new mechanics to DBD and additionally can be tons of fun, especially when you can play killer with your friend! Any civil feedback is always appreciated! :)

Not a single survivor would escape with 1 killer having to patrol only 2 gens they would all bleed out . And you can't mori a survivor unless he has been hooked.
