  • Yeah but the problem with your idea is if you make a different ranking system for both. Then there will have to be two different queues. Meaning that a killer would have to queue up to face a SWF team. Correct? Not sure it would really do anything if that wasn't the case. I don't understand what you're saying I guess. Because no one cares what rank is next to your number.

  • Yeah but the problem with your system is that no killers would join the SWF queue.

  • Don't forget. They were originally only going to give out 30 vials. Which would've taken half the time. People complained about this. Had they known that they were going to up it to 60 vials they probably wouldn't have made it as grindy.

  • I feel like nurse is pretty dead on PC as well. I see one very rarely to be honest. I feel like that has more to do with the fact that if you play nurse you get flamed. I just started learning her a few days ago and I love the play style. It feels so nice after being looped for all this time. But there's a lot of games where 3 people DC right after they find out I'm a nurse. If I kill an entire team with her, I get called a nurse player and get flamed. It's just a pretty toxic environment on Pc. So feel like she's just dead in general. It's a shame too. Really fun killer to play.

  • Killer doesn't lose progress though. I feel like it's a fair system. I have no problem going through it as killer. I think what feels so bad is the long queue times really. Imagine if we were getting into games right after one another? They'd fill up fast. But since it's a 5-10 minute wait to get a game going it just feels slow.

  • I don't think the event has anything to do with them adding cankers themselves into the game. I'm assuming they're just testing to see how it works. Then they'll probably figure out something else that they could put in the game as a secondary objective to make a mechanic. Cankers is just the event I'd assume.

  • Yeah. It started happening yesterday around event time. I couldn't log into the game either so I thought everything was down. But it's happening a ton.

By the way, I alreadey saw a killer will full halloween outfit today

There was a doctor playing at high ranks as the event went live with the new skin. Going to assume some people bought them right away. Probably planned on getting 3-4 of the skins anyway so just bought that one and is going to farm the others. It's not really that hard to grind though. I'm at 26 vials already. 13 as killer 13 as survivor.

Remember you have two full weeks. All you have to do is get 5 vials a day pretty much. It is a bit grindy. People that are working full-time and can't commit to a day of DBD on their day off will struggle. But remember they were trying to limit it to 1 skin. Which would've been more friendly to casual players. They had no intention of making people grind out 60 vials.

  • You fill a vial like every game. I guess it'd be fine. But people would earn so much BP's and iridescent shards that it would be silly.

  • The long lobbies started for me Tuesday morning or whenever the balance patch went live. I figured it was a bug? From what I've heard is that the dev's break the game every patch and have to fix the lobbies after a new patch.

  • So uh. Been playing a few games as killer since I woke up. 4 games in a row the survivors walk up to me. Won't run. Won't play the game. I keep farming with them because I don't feel pathetic enough to just hang them up and end the game. This is really really bad. How are other people handling this? Are you just killing them all or is every game just turning into a farm fest? I really don't want to farm. I just wanna play.

    Best rewards, worst mechanics.

Some of my friends are already done with gathering 30 serums on survivor... Now the event is basically over for them. There's nothing to do after that.

And after the event is over you will have tons of useless offerings on your characters where you spend bloodpoints on and wasted them because you get so many offerings.

    Nice lie.

Nobody had 30 vials by the time you wrote that, the event wasn't even up long enough for someone to get it. It takes 18 hours of perfect matches to get 30 full vials.

Are you sure? You can't just like change your region to Africa and farm as a 5 man team? I used to have friends that did that. If you did that I'm pretty sure it would only take a few hours of farming.

I've heard about some people repeatedly crouch saying thank you or stuff like that but maybe point at a pallet  you know sense the teabag it considered a toxic thing you know

Yeah. Well maybe just don't take it personally all the time. I feel like no one takes me very seriously... Because despite being rank 1 survivor... I'm probably the worst survivor in the game. I literally get outplayed all the time. So when I teabag them at a pallet and they catch me 5 seconds later. They're probably like... ######### is up with this noob? Now when you're killing at rank 1 or whatever and you know you have a four man survive with friends on your hands... They probably are mocking you. Sadly. I mean you'd do it too. Sitting in voice chat and everytime the killer swings and misses, "GOD HE'S SO BAD!" But I mean. What can you do. Good survivors can make us feel like a joke sometimes.

  • You know tea bagging doesn't have to be done to be a douche bag? I personally teabag all the time as a survivor. I play a lot more killer so I get teabagged all day. I teabag after dropping a pallet as a way to say "You're going to break this pallet. Or I'm going to loop you on it all day." No lie. I'm just honestly just trying to teach the killer how to play. As weird as that sounds.

  • Play how you want to play. If you felt like you camped then you probably did. If you don't feel like you were camping then you might not have been. There's really no right way to play. All these killers in here are telling you survivors are always salty. It's not the case. I get told often by people in the end game lobby that they enjoy playing against me. I actually get more compliments then flame. Being a killer doesn't mean you have to be a douche bag. But set yourself your own rules. If you want to play a certain way, do what works for you. But it doesn't mean everyone else has to like it.

  • Are you in like the 15-20 ranks? Maybe it was a new player... Might've just been playing really stealthy. I know the really new players tend to do that.

  • @MhhBurgers said:
Peanits I'm sorry but the only games I encountered so far were farmgames where the gens got done after what...15 minutes even if I don't hit anybody? The event is a mess and messes with the core game WAY to much. The death-penalty is so low that nobody cares about it esp once the vial is full.

Well. I personally think those players are doing it all wrong. Once you get maxed vials you can't burn offerings anymore and get the extra blood points? I believe I read that in another topic. So I personally don't care how long it takes to get the event done. The amount of 45,000 blood point games is pretty nice. I'd rather do that for two weeks then rush for the cosmetics.

  • Didn't see many try hard killers on tonight. There was a few. Think the only person I got face camped by was a Billy. I didn't like seeing Hex:Ruin during this event. It was pretty much a free 4 kill game for the killer. Just not enough time to do the objective, find the hex, and do gens. I'll certainly be taking Hex: Ruin off when I kill during the event.

  • Pretty much the same thing. Games where I don't want to farm... Survivors walk up to my hook and point at it and let me hook them. Don't wanna do it but what are you going to do? Hit them twice and face camp them to get the point across? Survivor side I think sucks. Teammates just die on their first hook cause they've hit the notch. And Hex: Ruin on top of getting serum is just an instant lose. It seems like when that's the case all 4 survivors just get the serum and let the killer hook them. I've been doing it too. Just too long. No chance to survive for a game going that long.

  • I find it annoying everyone wants to farm. But I don't notice any toxicity.

  • I think if you want to balance the game... Stop coming out with 3 new teachable perks with every character. I know it'll make buying the new DLC a little unrewarding. But right now they're just adding really bad perks into the game. Make your choice is probably the most toxic perk in the game. I hate seeing that one. Bloodwarden is pretty crap too. I mean... I get that one. It's about getting into the habit of just leaving the match and not helping your friends/fellow survivors. But they're just stretching now. I understand as well that Make your choice is to avoid tunneling. But it's really not a good fix. The more and more characters get added into the game it's just going to get worse.

Don't get me wrong. Survivors have really good perks too. Barely anyone runs without dead-hard right now. Which I get. But it's really not hard to counter dead-hard. At least I do it a lot while killing. Just get into range and they'll deadhard thinking you're going to swing. Then you're down like 2 seconds later. Of course if theirs an actual obstacle coming up it could still save them.

But it's like they take parts of the game that people dislike... Then make a perk to counter it. But when they counter it with that perk it just makes the balance feel off.

Oh and I know it's been talked about before. But doing something with teachables would be great. Only being able to use like 1 teachable on a killer/survivor would be fun. Right now there's no point to putting points into more then 1 survivor. It's all skin reasons past doing 1 character. Killers a bit different cause they have other abilities.

  • Don't you get progress towards a vial for just burning an offering as a survivor? So eventually you'll just be able to get there that way. It probably will be harder to do on survivor. But after all we all have to do both sides if we want the sets.

Can everyone just be happy now? The cosmetics are for all.

Ummm, I was already happy. I'm busy doing an event in another game for cosmetics, so I could already just spend $70 and grab all the Blight skins from the store in a matter of seconds. Which I hope helps encourage them to keep such a model in the future.

So, I was never unhappy. :p

That's the kind of attitude that breeds pay to win games. I understand where you are coming from, but letting Devs get away with ######### business practices isn't a good thing for everyone. A better solution would have been to just have more of the costumes available through grinding for people that had the time and available to buy for people that didn't.

You know that pay 2 win has nothing to do with cosmetics?

No it doesn't.. But that's the kind of attitude that allows pay to win to continue in other games. Most of Korea has the exact same attitude as you and virtually every one of their games has a pay to win model because they don't mind paying money to save time. So companies make games incredibly grindy and let them pay to pass the grind. Sure, this game is just cosmetics. But, they wouldn't hesitate to add pay to win aspects if they could get away with it and make more money. The only reason pay to win isn't prevalent in the US/EU is because most people don't have your attitude towards games.

As for your pay2win agrument, to a degree DBD already has a mild pay2win. Just buy the base game, and no DLCs. Now try to Rank up and face those Red Rank builds. Do it all without ever having any of the Killer meta perks, all of which come from one DLC or another. You absolutely must buy the DLCs for all those killer teachable perks to survive the upper ranks, unless you are a highly skilled player to begin with (and most players aren't at that level and never will be).

And the Shrine of Secrets isn't really a factor given how infrequently the truly meta-perks for Killers appear in there.

So, yes, DBD already has a p2w aspect to it. You absolutely need a variety of DLCs just to be able to do a whole hell of a lot above the mid-ranks.

A point could be made for it being p2w but most wouldn't consider the DLCs to be pay to win. Especially since most of the DLC killers and perks aren't that great comparatively. But allowing the DLC characters to be unlocked with shards mostly got rid of the pay to win aspects. Mostly.

BBQ and Chili is like the #1 perk for killer. Hex: Ruin is like #2 (Isn't Hag DLC? Or was she free?)

On the other side you have D/S which is a DLC chapter. Dead-Hard (Not sure if David King was free) ... Nea was free I believe so Balanced Landing is free. But yeah there's a ton of good perks that were p2w. Not that I mind. I have no issue paying 5 dollars for a new killer.

There's nothing to be grateful for. The Devs fixed a mistake they made with an event and only did so to protect their profits. Nothing to really applaud them for.

Are you kidding me? You're putting this down as a fixed mistake? No there was no fixed mistake. This was the developers giving away free stuff to get the few whiny people to stop throwing a temper tantrum.

Remember when you were like 5 years old and you started crying in the grocery store and your mom was super embarrassed so she bought you candy? This is what just happened. You should be VERY thankful for your mother and them for changing this.

Nah. This change was made to protect their money. Has nothing to do with anything else. Self care/other changes won't off complaining because it doesn't affect their money.

So they'll protect their money by making less money.

They won't be making less money. People were pissed at how terrible the event was. Those people would not spend money on the costumes at all. There were a lot of people angry about this. Making these changes will appease some of the people who were angry and potentially get them to buy costumes now.

The people that were angry about it would've bought the cosmetics. They're the ones that care enough to throw a temper tantrum over ingame cosmetics. They took a loss to make you people happy.

Of course, if they then went on to insult you in postgame or something, that's another matter.

All the pointing and "come on" motions make me think otherwise. But yes, it's a fair point. And it's why I give a nice bow instead - unless the killer is engaging in tomfoolery and a crouchy crouch laugh is appropriate.

First thing they need to realized is that this isn't F2P. I paid money for this game.

Second thing that needs to be realized is that if you play pretty much any other game, there's similar events being run. And they aren't charging you for most of the halloween stuff. (ie: Overwatch has new lootboxes, but if you don't get what you want by the end of the event you can buy the cosmetic, a better system imho)

As for having the money and the cosmetics looking cool: Some of us are Disabled Iraq war vets on a fixed income.. There is no shame in being poor, so stop shaming those of us who are.

Some microtransactions are cool. I really like the chapters, good content and affordable for those of us who have to consider such things. Which should be bringing them a regular influx of capital.

That is a ridiculous statement to make. Now everyone that agrees that 1 skin was fine hates our disabled war vets? Like come on man. And the event is a lot like the Overwatch. If you don't get what yu want you can buy it? Well there's no reason anyone needs all 7 skins. So pick 1 for free and then buy the other one you really like. Don't drop 60$ to buy all the skins. A couple should be enough.

    It's a 13 day event.

With an event this long we all thought we'd be in for more grindable long term goals or something.

I never expected all the skins to be free. I don't want them to be free. They need supported yes. I get it.

I'll support them, but 3/21 pieces is just horrible.

I don't care if this is the best they've offered up in the past. It's just a let down.

They just need to increase it to 6/21, and I think a lot of people would be happy

30 vials for the first 3

70 more vials for the 2nd 3 pieces.

    easy

I think people get the point. It's just not everyone here is selfish. A 13 day event is clearly for the people that cannot invest a ton of hours a day into the event. It's for the people that might not be home for a single weekend to unlock the skins. 13 days is their way to make sure anyone that wants to participate can. It's not so people living in their grandmother's basement can unlock everything in the game.

    i get that.

It takes maybe 2-3 days to get the vials.

    13 days

Some of us play at night daily (like myself). I don't play 4 different games like some of you millennials (since you're judging...)

I'm going to have like 10 days or so after my thing is earned, which I'm thankful for. I jsut wanted a bigger grind.

    I'm not selfish either.

I'm asking for 6/21 to be grindable.

    Not 3/21

Look in the mirror before you judge.

And for those 10 days you will be unlocking event tickets or w/e they're called that will provide you with extra blood points. Which is still a good bonus. I think I'm more excited about getting more blood points then I am the skins.

This game has terrible cosmetics. It's put to shame by anyone else in the gaming industry. I don't even shell out money for Fortnite or League of Legends skins that are a lot better. I don't even know if I want a single skin. The two survivor ones are terrible. Doc and Wraith are the only cool two of the bunch. So just pick between those two and be happy.

I also feel like I'm probably part of the 'older' player base in DBD. Maybe that's why I'm reasonable. Has nothing to do with being a millenials. If anything that's the younger generation that feels entitled.

  • All they have to do is turn the current rank system into casual mode. Then make ranked a actual competitive game mode. Have the survivors be able to ban 1 thing each from the killer and the killer be able to ban 4 things from the survivors. That way all those super sweaty people can't complain and cry about perks and add-ons. It would be perfect.

I sent you my profile. I opened up my achievements. No idea why. Been rank 1 on both sides for a very long time. Yeah I'm in a DBD competitive group that someone invited me to a long time ago. The problem is that anyone can get to rank 1. So you have people like me and 90% of the rank 1's that don't belong there and don't want to be there.

You know your game is pathetic when you are banning people for trying to enjoy your game. People that wish to play the game for fun and derank are getting banned. Never heard of anything like that in other game. More bans you give out, the more people that are going to realize that your games not fun. Just going to lose more and more players. Seems like a really stupid way to handle the situation.

  • The only people that aren't rank 1 are beginners or people that are deranking. Lol. And to be honest next month I'll probably start to derank as well. Or try to find people to SWF with. Cause solo high rank is just not fun. Haven't had a game tonight where a single survivor has survived. Yet still sitting at rank 1.

  • @Lowbei Thanks for pointing out the obvious. It's exactly what I just said. I don't want to be at rank 1. I don't belong at rank 1. Yet I am and I can't lose a pip no matter what. How is that a good system? Ohhhhh it's too competitive for you. But every game but DBD has a casual mode. Maybe this is a big reason why DBD had so much hype and lost a huge playerbase within a couple of weeks of launch.

  • Would love for this to become a thing. Nothing fun about high ranks. At least make it harder to rank up. No way that I belong in rank 1. Game feels so not competitive right now.

I'm saying they need to give this event more longevity. It's 13 days.

Give us the chance to get another 3 pieces by doing a long grind? Why not?

Because if they would've said 6 pieces, you would've all complained it's not 9. You don't understand. Not everyone is going to be happy.

  • @powerbats said:
So you can purchase them so what, YOU'RE GETTING TO GET THEM FOR FREE !!!!!! The people that're going to be on vacation or unable to play or not able to play enough will be able to buy them in that case. Do any of you complaining about this consider anyone else besides yourselves in this situation, or are you looking at this only from a selfish standpoint?

There's been posts from weeks back from people saying they wouldn't be able to play or hardly at all so they'll not get a chance to all 4 pieces let alone one. By allowing them to be purchased it allows those who can't get them to get them. It isn't all about a cash grab and sure they make some extra money but they also ensure that those who don't get a chance for whatever reason don't get screwed over or feel left out.

Nice to see someone else around that understands. People that play video games are generally really selfish. It's crazy how they can't understand.

And the problem with upping it from 3 pieces to 6 is that then people would complain it's not 9.

Agreed. I really only like Billy, Doc, and Wraith. My Doc's level 1 so clearly not too excited about that. My Wraith I haven't touched in 2 years. So being able to get a Hillbilly skin for free is pretty sick in my eyes.

But every single video game in existence has gone down this path lately. If you want the skins that's great. If not then don't buy them. But companies have to make money as well. Playing a game you spent $30 for once isn't supporting them.

  • Understood. I like Deerstalker. I haven't put points into my Billy in years. So I still run Deerstalker on him. I got the old school build like Enduring, Deerstalker, Brutal strength, and whispers. I still play him a ton and think Deerstalker fits well with him. But besides for him I wouldn't want to waste a perk spot on it either.

  • I'm actually so glad there's a hatch. I'd rather not have people try and stealth against me for 30 minutes in a 1 v 1 situation. Hatch is the best thing in the game to be honest. I'm more then fine giving up 1 kill and getting into another game. The 1v1 and 1v2 situations are the most boring thing about DBD.

  • Yeah. The game is supposed to be frustrating. Realized that a long time ago. My friends are kinda new to the game so they get super bent out of shape about everything. I just don't ever care if I live or die or kill 4 people or 0. It's certainly situational. I've always considered myself a killer main. But I've been rank 1 every season on both sides... Well the seasons I have played. I do like to take a few months off and come back after a long break. I personally never use add-ons as killer and never camp tunnel. I get so frustrated when I play survivor and get face camped or face like a perma t3 Myers w/ Tombstone.

Right now the frustrating part of the game is I'm learning how to Nurse. And I get like 3 DC's a game. I'm not even good at it and they don't care. Instant DC. Then I gotta try and be somewhat nice to the 1 or 2 guys that actually stay in the game.

  • No idea why this would be added. If you can't handle teabagging it's probably best to go somewhere else. It's just a part of the game... And any other game that allows it. So you crouch behind a tree and a huntress comes around the corner and pulls out a hatchet so you crouch again after you run around the tree so she can't throw it over. Character gets a sprained ankle because of that? Come on now.

  • Why would you consider Deerstalker a crutch perk? Or are you saying you don't want to give up a crutch perk for something like Deerstalker?
