No. I'm not calling him weak at all. It's just not my type of killer. I dunno hold mouse 1 and get to dash 6 times with a chainsaw is silly. Not a fan of the playstyle. I enjoy killers that have interesting game play.
-
Certainly what I plan on doing. I have most of my killers with all the perks I want to run on them. My trapper is the one I'm currently working on right now. He's Prestige 2. Probably will be hitting around Prestige 3 at the time of the event. So I'll most likely work on him during the Halloween event. Then I'll probably level something useless up like a Freddy or Leatherface.
-
Tier 3 perma is certainly one of the strongest one. I think the huntress being able to put people in the dying state with her hatchets is the most annoying one. Hitting a hatchet isn't even hard. Being able to 1 tap people with them is annoying. Those two are probably the ones I think are the most annoying anyway.

rank 20 opinions
Rank 1 in both survivor and killer. But okay.

Yeah. I hate everything about ruin. I run it just because if you don't... The game doesn't last long enough to really have a chance. But it'd be great to see ruin reworked. Maybe just make it so the ruin effect lasts 3 minutes into the game then disables itself. Really wish there was a way they would rework the whole thing. I hate playing against it and I feel bad using it.

I think that it's just an awkward thing to get used to. It was the same since release? Now all of a sudden you just toss them up on a hook like they're a 5 pound bag of potatoes. Give it time. I didn't notice anything awkward about it on the killer end. But I did just only play my first game since patch.

Billy is a strong character because of his ability to move around the map quickly. So that's pretty much what you want to exploit. Don't worry about getting a ton of chainsaws a game. When you're in an actual chase you shouldn't chainsaw often. Around a loop swing through pallets with enduring. When you catch a survivor in an opening you can go for a chainsaw. Good survivors will attempt to 360 and bounce around to avoid the saw. It takes a lot of practice to start figuring out their moves. Some will start to circle around you and hope that you miss your saw. Be patient! Don't just hold your M2 and chainsaw blindly. Hold it at 80% until you feel like you've got this guys movement under control. The good survivors will be literally circling around you. So it's not like you don't have time to think about your next move.
When a survivor gets a big head start. Like sprint burst or he just created separation just chainsaw forward towards him to close the gap. Once you get a survivor on a hook that's when you instantly turn away and chainsaw across the map to where you think more survivors would be. This just takes game sense. Once you get another chase you just take it. Never go back for the guy on the hook. Hillbilly's good because he's so good at getting into chases. You can almost always keep a player busy the entire match.
I haven't put points into my Billy in a long time. I work on my other killers. I don't have BBQ or Ruin on him. I think I run like an old school build. Brutal strength, enduring, whispers, and deerstalker. Deerstalker is pretty useless for me. Because I just usually hook and go. But in some situations it can have meaning. Whispers is pretty nice on him. I think I'd take it over any of the other perks to track. Just because if you chainsaw across to a random generator you know they're around. Usually they're crouching around a tree. That normally ends up with Billy being able to find them and bodyblock them into an object and get a free chainsaw.
Billy is pretty easy to play. I think a lot of new people get baited by the ability to 1 shot. It's not really a needed thing. Go for chainsaws when you know you're in a good spot. Go for hits if not. The only thing that sucks about Billy is all these indoor maps are kinda making him weaker and weaker.

The Devs have not figured out a way in the 2 years of the game being out to make a survive with friends lobby. Still two years later you have to leave the game... Hit back. Hit survive with friends, then invite your friends. Any other game company would've just made a lobby that the players go back to. The devs don't want voice in this game for the simple fact that they'd never be able to figure out how to put it in.
If they did somehow manage to figure out putting in a voice chat feature it would be terrible. DBD is the most topic community in gaming. Mental illness is probably to blame for that one. What other game has ever gotten you steam posts on your profile? Might have 1 or 2 here or there. But DBD a year ago... If you played an 8 hour session of DBD would lead to 10 comments on your profile calling you profanities. Why the ######### would anyone think that talking to strangers on this game is a good idea?
-
Why do people care about this topic so much? Who cares if people dc. It's their time and if they don't want to play out a match let them go. I'm going to assume that the majority of players don't disconnect from games. That leaves the majority of players with the ability to laugh it off and say, "Hey that person is pathetic for caring so much about dying in a video game." Why can't that just be punishment enough?
I don't care who you are or for what reason. If you dc to derank or just because you got caught early in a match. It's pathetic. Just being you should be enough punishment. Does it make the game suck a little bit? Yeah. Trying to win 3v1 is certainly more challenging then 4v1. But how often does this really happen? If I have two teammates DC. I run up to the killer and let him kill me and I leave the game and go into the next one. Just do that. It speeds up the game and it's over quick. And in the post-game lobby we can just omegalawl at the dc players. No need to ban people.
And leave Jendenise alone. If that is actually the real Jendenise. You do realize that anyone could have just registered with that name. But if it is the streamer. Let her DC and derank. Hasn't she put like 5,000 hours into the same video game? That's worse punishment then any sort of ban will give.

There's really not a lot to counter flashlights. The only real way you can do it if you want to hook someone is to face a wall when you go for the grab. Obviously not every flashlight user is good. But when you're facing a SWF team that is all running flashlights. There's no other way to counter it. Wait till you down one next to a wall. Move your camera or walk to the hook backwards. Put them on the hook. Face camp the person.I'm very against camping myself. But at this point there's nothing wrong with just face camping them. They don't care that you're not getting points for hooking survivors. And if you let that person off the hook. It's just going to be a struggle to get the next person to one. Slowly face camp until they're all dead. Even if you face camp... They'll stay around the hook and not work on gens. You lose 0 time in these situations.
Next patch you are going to lose emblem points if you stay close to the survivor. So face camping them is going to be boring for both sides and keep him from pipping. A better solution is to just slug them (if they are swf using flashlights or more than 1 person has a flashlight) and go after the others. If it's one person using a flashlight just face a wall or possibly slug if you have to.
I really doubt that face camping is going to prevent people from pipping. Plus the situation I'm speaking of is not going to hurt you at all. The group will never leave the hooked player alone. Meaning that he won't lose any points since the survivors will all be in the 16 m range. Face camping shouldn't be frowned upon. Sometimes it's just the smart move. You think that it's fun for the killer to be denied a hook over and over again due to flashlighting and body blocking and saboing hooks to 99%? The game is already pretty unfun for the killer. You guys get to sit in discord and giggle like 13 year old school girls... "Oh my god. I blinded the killer! Did you see that sick save!" Killers get the satisfaction that they can face camp you and put tears in your eyes.
-
Don't blame the company for whiny people. If they DC on a regular basis ban them. If that's the direction they want to take toward this, then it's their decision. Anyone with a brain should be able to figure out what is right and what is wrong. Just because there's a leave match button doesn't mean you have to use it every match. I think they're doing a damn good job.
-

Is being toxic actually a bannable offense? Never really thought about this one. I don't care about the DC thing, never do it myself. But when someone complains I usually tell them to go cry to someone else and leave the lobby. Hopefully I don't have to start being nice to people.

Imagine thinking Killer at the moment is hard. You clearly never played Killer in 2016, or 2017.
So many new players think they’re better than they actually are. They play against better people and immediately think it’s the games fault. Gamers today in a nutshell.
I'd say killer right now is pretty difficult. I mean obviously nothing will compare to when the game was launched and infinites were in the game. But after those were slowly taken out of the game killer became a lot better. I'd have to say that right now killer is probably harder then it ever was after the removal of infiniting and pallet spawns.
I mean getting 4 kills a game is still easy if you play in a scummy way. But for killer's that try to play by "survivors" rules... Getting a couple of kills a game is challenging. Games over in 4 minutes. The first chase takes 3 minutes due to Ds & Dead Hard w/ Insta Medkit. That's 3 get out of jail free cards. Just saying though. I still get to rank 1 on both sides. But I actually play more survivor right now cause it's a lot more enjoyable. Easy to win and easy to have fun. Killers fine too but there's literally groups out there that only play to try and make a killer salty. And after you've played them a few times in one day you just don't want to play killer anymore.
-
I'm sure DBD has surpassed what the company ever expected it to turn into. It's done very well in the two years since it's been released. It's still alive and well. Gets plenty of views on Twitch. Now that they've got their engine upgraded they're able to pump out a new DLC every 2 or 3 months. Cosmetics coming into the store every week. They're still making money off of a game that was a 1 time 20$ purchase. They've done well for themselves.
The game has already reached greatness. It has nothing to do with the game not being appealing or fun to play. Hell there's not many games out there that people spend 5,000 hours on. So clearly some people think it's great.
It'll never become the biggest thing. Because MOBA's dominated gaming for 5+ years. And now BR's are dominating the gaming world for the last 3 years. But it doesn't mean DBD isn't great for what it is.
-
I quit all the time. I play like for 2 months then come back 8 months later and have some more fun with it. Not really a game that's supposed to take up a large portion of your time. Feel free to play other titles and come on when you want.Game doesn't really have a lot of stuff in it to explain someone playing 5,000 hrs. I've had it since release and I'm sitting at 600 hours or something like that. It's easy to come back to. Get rank 1 as soon as I come back to it. Only struggle is learning why people are beating me with new perks I had no idea existed.
-
Oh yes. The carrying people topic. I'm certainly alright with this change. But we need to fix plenty of other stuff. It's unfair that 3 survivors can group around the killer and body block him preventing him from getting hooks. It's unfair that sabo squads can 99% every hook in the game so when you carry a survivor there... They kill the hook in your face. And then you're helpless and can't get a hook the entire game. It's unfair that survivors can run through a house and jump through a window over and over again. Why don't they ever break their leg? Obviously if you're jumping out of a 2 story house, eventually you'll land wrong and it'll slow you down.
Survivors get points for standing around doing nothing. Being on a generator the whole game holding down mouse 1 isn't exactly difficult work. Maybe generators shouldn't give survivors points? Why does the killer have to lose out on gameplay because of realism. How about if a killer decides to jump down the stairs or jump down one of the hills.. He throws the survivor instead. Bouncing the victims head off of a rock or the wall and then they just die. Maybe that would be a good idea. It would fix your problem.
-
Well I'm rank 1 on both sides. Used to play mostly all killer. But I was struggling a bit to rank up as killer coming back to the game. I ended up playing more survivor then killer this season. Just because it seemed a lot easier since 8 months ago when I last played. The whole having to kill two players to pip seems to have made killer harder then it used to be.
But anyhow. I should say as a solo survivor... I never get camped or tunneled. When I started to play SWF (With 3 friends that all have like 10 hours in DBD total.) We did start to see more campers. But I can't really blame them for camping. We were rushing hooks and tea bagging and being pretty toxic. So never really blamed them. Just told my friends... You know he's going to face camp you if he catches you. Feel like it's easy to tell when you're pissing off a killer. So probably avoid doing those things if you don't want to get camped/tunneled.
If you're going to be toxic the killers going to be toxic lol. Don't know why that's hard to understand.
Regardless. Killers being toxic and whiny in post-game chat? It's pretty uncommon. Obviously survivors are a lot more likely to whine and cry.
-
Just really hard to balance in this kind of game. They can't just buff all killers and nerf survivors. Otherwise you'll end up having new players join the game and never have a chance against a decent killer. They already get 4 killed every game. So if you made the killer stronger it would only make new players quit before they got anywhere. On the otherside. At high ranks and against decent players, killers have no chance. At least not the way I enjoy playing. Which is hooking and chasing and not camping/tunneling. I feel like being a bit campy and tunneling at times is going to be something I have to bring into my gameplay.
Another reason there should be a casual and ranked mode. New players learn in casual and ranked is for the sweaty people.
-
Never run into toxic killers myself. Never find myself getting camped or tunneled. Wonder if it's because I'm the only survivor that's not messing with him. A lot of your problems could be solved yourself. Maybe don't teabag the killers. Maybe don't loop a pallet more then a few times before moving onto another spot on the map. Maybe then the killer won't want to face camp you.
If you delay him on a chase for a long time because you looped him to death. Why would anyone in their right mind let you off the hook? If it took 5 minutes to finally get you on the hook and the game lasts 6 minutes. Seems like he should probably make sure you die. Otherwise he ain't ever got a chance of catching you again.
-
Black Ops 4 comes out tomorrow. Can try that out. Might be fun!

Should just remove this post. Clearly these posts are just made to start arguments. There's no reason to change the system. The game was obviously made to be casually by people that just want to unwind and blow off some steam. It's not meant to be played at a competitive level. If it was then it would be balanced. Things liked D/S combined with insta medkits wouldn't exist in the game. You and Lowbei clearly want to brag to the world about your rank. Even though most of the players that play can hit rank 1. And this veteran thing that you guys use in your posts are ridiculous. Any new players have the right to an opinion too. And based off the thread that was made a few days ago. Clearly they have more intelligence.
And if survivors at rank 1 are supposed to be smart. Someone wouldn't make a post and write a sentence like.
"Survivors are more smarter at rank 1 and the same applies to killers as well."
You may have more game knowledge because you have played longer. But normal people wouldn't feel the need to bring up a thread that was closed. Why was it closed? Because every response was met with an insult from Lowbei. Which is exactly what this post will become as well. Because you think you're professional level CS:Go players for reaching rank 1 in DBD.
-
I don't know if it's SWF or just people and their game knowledge from playing a long amount of time... But it seems like the game just isn't balanced anymore. Maybe all the new perks and such. Swear to god it was easier to kill people with infinite's in the game then it is now. SWF is really busted though. I've been playing with my friends as of late. They all have like 20 hours total into DBD and it was all when the game was first released. They know nothing about the new perks in the game, the new maps, the new killers. But it doesn't seem to matter.
Every game we survive. Barely ever lose 1 player. And three of us have no idea how to play the game. I think that for sure the ranking system is #########. I'm rank 1 survivor right now. My friend are like rank 10, 13, and 16... We get rank 15-20 killers every game who have 1 perks. No idea why we can't get a higher killer. It just shows how bad SWF can abuse the game by playing with new players.
Then you get to the point that I'm a killer main... Well always have been until right now. I just feel absolutely terrible for them right now. I know they're low ranked killers and probably don't have a ton of time in the game. But I pretty much finish 1 gen and then take the killer on a chase for the last 4-5 minutes while my buddies do gens or whatever. So hard to actually get caught in this game. I don't own perks like D/S and I never use add-ons items cause I feel like it makes the game too easy. But if I did... Killers have no chance
This is a team of 3 people have no idea how to play the game and a killer main who sucks at survivor. How can it be so unbalanced around SWF? Not hat I feel like that's really the big picture. I feel like killer is at its weakest state ever right now. I just wish the game was competitive again. Miss when you could find a killer that could get a 4k game.
-
Never suffered from this. SWF queues have always taken like 10 seconds for me. Never played on console though, so maybe that's part of the reasoning.
-
SWF teams can be difficult. I play some really toxic ones at times. But it doesn't even matter. Nothing to blame not ranking up on. When you're not against a SWF team you just can't afford to lose. Smash solo lobbies and safety pip vs SWF and easy rank 1.
Congrats on the rank 1 though.
-
There is no hatch standoff. If you're a killer just walk away and let them escape. I know it's a stupid. But it isn't worth the time.

baffling that youre on like page 5 of this thread and still havent got the basic concept in the OP that “achieving” rank1 is easy due to swf and safety pips. its actually playing there that builds skill level and experience. skill level and experience that you clearly dont have if you feel this way about this thread. like previously stated, this thread isnt for you.

I was rank 1 survivor and killer the first month the game came out. When there were infinite jukes in the game. I don't understand why I'm getting flamed by a group of apes that probably couldn't even compete with me. And I'm capable of admitting I'm not even that great. -

I just repair a gen and then hope to get a decent chase out of the killer. Where as some players... They think that being a rank 1 means you have to take it seriously. You're not helping your team if you don't loop the killer like everyone else. You get flamed if you use the killer shack pallet. There's all these rules that rank 1 survivors have for each other. But some people don't want to play like that. They want to play a fun match and not care about rank. But unfortunately it's way too easy to rank up. So you get stuck with players like me on your team that get chased down and actually die to a killer. Same for killer. Some use mori's and face camp and tunnel to rank up. Other killers enjoy the 'chase' aspect of the game. They want to chase and down people. Put them on a hook without being griefed and then take another chase. They don't care if they come away with 0 games as long as they know they made it hard for the survivors. Yet killers also rank up because it's way too easy not to. It all comes down to the key point. Ranking up is too easy. And it mixes all the try hards and casuals into the same games.
Let's just call it what it is. There's really no number rank that means anything in this game. You have the Rank 1 try hards and the rank 1 casuals. And because of that it makes rank not matter a damn bit.
People that know how to play the game are people that understand how to do certain things and when to do them. Contrary to popular belief, there is a RIGHT and a WRONG way to play a video game. The RIGHT way to play is to play optimally and play to win because that's ultimately how the game was designed to function and flow. Playing it wrong is to play against this design, and while you can play a game any way you want if you play it wrong then you will lose against someone playing right.
For example, in Chess if you only focus on using pawns and never utilize your other pieces you are objectively playing the game wrong because such a tactic will always lose to someone that uses all the pieces. You have every right to play this way if you want, but to do so means that you will lose. Another example, in Street Fighter trying to play a character that is designed to be a zoner as a rushdown. While it may work from time to time, when you go against a player using a character the way they were designed you will lose because you are not playing to your character's strengths, you are not optimizing.
People hate when I say that there is a right and wrong way to play a video game, but it's the truth. And I'm not telling you that you must play the right way, just that if you play the WRONG way you are destined to lose. The players that play "wrong" are often the ones that want the most extreme changes to the game to make what they are doing the right way to play, and that's a huge problem. Like, if you want to play a super rushdown style in SF then pick a rushdown character. Don't try to fit a square block into the circle hole, and don't carve out the hole to make the square fit either.
In DBD, you can tell who knows what they are doing by what they do. A killer that knows where to go and how to scramble survivors is going to win because they are playing right. A killer that just chases one guy all game around an obvious time consuming loop and never pressures the other survivors is playing wrong, and will lose. The problem is the latter type of killers complain about survivors looping or gen rushing when in most cases it happens because the killer played wrong. It's like if a pitcher always throws a fastball right down the middle of the plate and expects to get a strikeout every time, they are playing wrong because it's not about how fast you can throw the ball, it's about making the batter swing and miss.
And that's not to say you can play right and always win. There is the factor of execution. You could know what to do but if you can't pull it off then that knowledge is worthless. But someone that play's right poorly will win more often than someone that plays wrong very well, if that makes sense.
PS. Also there can be several "right" ways to play a game. I'm not saying there is a single specific right way, most games have multiple "right" ways to play. But there are also objectively "wrong" ways to play, again it all comes down to optimization and playing to win.
This is why people say “oh you have to resort to name calling so you lost the argument”
anyone who doesn’t understand your post, when it comes to dbd at least, they are totally #########.
This post is truth. And I rather name call because I know this truth also. Just why the [BAD WORD] do I gotta hold someone’s hand. Thanks for trying to hold peoples hand lol.
The fish dont know thyre fish unfortuantely. Just wanna live off their ignorant opinions
So if people do not share your opinion they're #########. Nice logic m8. Good to see the DBD community is full of intelligent people.

Damn. Well no wonder why everyone considers him weak. Seems like a great concept but poorly executed. I've never seen a Freddy actually do good against a team I've been on. But didn't realize that it's as simple as running over and unhooking someone and running out the exit gates at the end. Maybe he should be able to kill people on the ground when the gates are open?
-
Okay. Well this is helpful. My few experiences with Freddy I've just never understood if you can avoid going into the dream state. Your head tilts to the side or whatever and it starts putting you to sleep. At that point there is no way to avoid going into the dream state?
I've found it easy to dodge him to be honest. He's really a weak killer. Just catches you off guard when you have no idea what he does. Also when you are in dream state can he just see where you are? I feel like he can always find me. It might be something like nurse's calling. I've never really checked. But it seems like he'll leave me and then suddenly just run across the map right after me.
-
Yeah. I would also love an explanation of how he works. Probably could just look up a video. But I have no idea how he works. So everytime I face him I run around confused.

Why should a KILLER find a new target, because a survivor owns a perk?
Pathetic arguments, you are just some salty survivor main complaining about balancing the game to be playable as killer player because your ego wouln't accept that your bad.
Why should a survivor get eliminated quickly because a killer brought an offering?
I don't think that anyone enjoys using mori's. I have been saying from the beginning that items should just be taken out of the game. Add-ons for killers and most of the survivor stuff. Well probably just flashlights. Or at least make it so you can't flashlight right after a player is picking someone up. Because people at high ranks abuse the ######### out of that one. Medkits kinda got to stay so you don't have to run self-care. But stuff like instant heals, mori's, instant dying state add-ons that killers have. All should just be taken out of the game.
-
Certainly would be a fun idea. Though a lot of the suggestions there just aren't really needed. I'd do things for killers like... Kills per game. Total kills. Maybe a photo of their most played killer next to their name on the leaderboard. Maybe a breakdown of how many games they play as each killer. Time played would be good. Maybe keep score of 4 kill and 3 kill games.
For survivor it would probably be times escaped. Safe hook rescues. Once again with a picture of their main survivor. Maybe just give them a breakdown on survivors they use a lot to. Time played. Hatch wins. Maybe like a longest chase thing.

At one, we talk about how adversely disconnections affects both killers and survivors, leading to really unfair situations and then we have threads like this, which talk about removing the only middle ground we have. In any game, any sports, there's not just a win or a loss, but there's also a draw.I'm not trying to mock you. But in baseball there are no ties. They'll play 25 innings in a regular season game if it means there is a winner.

This game shouldn't have a number rank at all. The whole ranking system needs a complete revamp. It would be a lot better suited if it judged based off individual performance. Right now you can rank up and only click mouse 1 on generators. Once in awhile you'll get killed and safety pip. But it's really hard to not get a pip on either side. Throw people into groups. Bronze / Silver / Gold / Diamond. Something like that. Make the seasons last 6 months of a year. Start providing rewards for what you do. If you at least achieve gold during that season you get like a exclusive skin or something like that.
But even with this system it wouldn't be great. RNG is a huge factor into DBD. Which is why it isn't really designed for being a competitive game mode. You can stealth across the map and do gens until you escape or the rest of your team is dead. Doing this will still rank you up. Even though you don't even have to know how to play the game. So I'd suggest getting rid of these 'categories' that you get points in. Make it so everything gets pooled together in a single point category. Going to have to find a way to cap that. Maybe make it so you can only score 30,000 points in a game no matter what. If you score over 2000 points you get points towards your next rank up. If you have a few games in a row where you score under 1,500 points you get deranked.

I mean. Can't disagree that they've made survivors more difficult to play. Since when the game came out they could use infinite's. So yes at least that's not in the game anymore. Which made it more difficult. But then they just started gen rushing and pallet looping. They want to add more objectives for survivors to do eventually. When that does happen then nerfing killer will probably be a good idea. Depending on how much extra stuff the survivors have to do. But right now the game starts and the exit gates are opened within 4-5 minutes. Leaving the survivors only having to do a 30-45 second chase per person to all survive.
I also believe that killer players don't use add-on's a lot. I personally never use add-on's on either side. I feel like they're the thing that unbalances the game. Not sure how many killers actually use add-ons... But I never use them and it's uncommon to face a killer with them when I'm playing survivor.
For beginners killer is certainly over powered. They run around and destroy new survivors that don't know how the maps work and try to stealth and hide in closets. But at the high ranks... Game seems like survivors have a clear advantage. Unless they have a really bad early game. I certainly have games where I hook someone early and then they all try to mess with me and I kill them all within a minute. Those games aren't very common usually. It's mostly just pallet looping and survivors that don't give the killer really a chance to get kills.

TL;DR. Your post is really weird.
This post could have been interesting if it wasn't so hate filled. Very angry and aggressive way to try and get your point across in what you may see as an issue in the game / community.
I'm failing to see the "aggressivines" in OP topic... sure the discussion is quite animated but is kind of a "sensitive topic" soo a bit of ego is expected

Bean is pretty much spot on. Any opinion that went against his he deemed that person as a terrible player that didn't have the right to an opinion. There were people that came in and said... "I'm a casual but I agree." So he decides... Hey buddy. It's okay to be casual because you agree with me! But you'll get rank 1 someday. Because clearly you're intelligent because you think like I do.
With my posts he went from telling me I'm a terrible player that will never be high ranked. I posted when I got my rank 1 achievement. Then told me I have an ego problem and want to brag about my rank. And then two posts later continued to tell me that my opinion doesn't matter because I'll never be rank 1.
Bean hit it spot on with his post. This guy doesn't read into someones words. He looks for two things. "I agree" or "I disagree." If you agree then you are a vet in his eyes. Doesn't matter how casual you actually are. If you disagree you're a piece of trash that will never be good at anything. Pretty much sums up the level of crazy that this guy is.

Still... I get it can be frustrating to lose points and ranks because of DC's. League of Legends is a prime example. That game has issues with DC's. And it tilts you more cause you're in there for 20 minutes at least if they do DC. How do they punish their player base... I think they lose rank point for dcing. Not sure if it's any extra from just getting the loss. They also have a tribunal system or at least used to when I played a lot. Where if someone DC'd a ton of times... It would leave them banned. I'd say that's probably the best system.
You're here trying to come up with 5-10 minute bans on players for dcing. Why can't they have a report system that works. Hey this survivor has been reported for disconnected 325 times in the last two days. Then they issue a 24-hour ban. DBD isn't free... It's not expensive either. So people will probably stop once they start building up longer bans. Is Dcing to save this flashlight really worth another 24 hour ban?
But the DBD team works really slow on everything. Simple things that should be able to be hotfixed in 20 minutes, will take them a year.

Even if you never post it... It's worth doing. I love to write. I feel like it's great for a person's sanity. Especially if you're trying to make a point or share your experiences with something. It'll make you think about a lot of different things. Sometimes people just talk a bunch of nonsense because they're not really thinking about how they actually feel. Especially with a game like DBD where you go from having a blast to hating your life in two seconds.
Might find out that you change your mind on a lot of things you thought you enjoyed/disliked about it. So I'd say go for it. Though the comments will most likely be toxic. DBD has the most toxic community in the gaming community. It just doesn't get viewed that way because the DBD community is so tiny that it's easily forgotten.

Yeah. I know they changed the losing a pip thing awhile ago. That happened the last time I was playing DBD. That was a good change. Figured that it had fixed the bad stuff about DCing out of the match. No idea what that actual rules are on regarding a DC... Maybe it's different if a killer quit out of the match over dcing? Cause the game ended as soon as we loaded in. Me and my SWF teammate both got 12,000 BP's and a pip. (Not sure on the BP but it was the exact number to level us up.)
We just laughed it off and were like... I hope every killer dc's against us. I think just enforcing that onto console and regardless of a quit/dc would be a good enough change. No ones going to complain about getting handed over free BP.

How is DCing and issue? If a killer dc's don't the survivors get points for the match and an auto pip? If the survivors DC the killer gets point for it. Think that's a pretty balanced system. Not sure what all this fuss is about. And you can have really good internet and disconnect. I personally have my router randomly restart between 1-3 am every night. I had a power surge yesterday and lost power. Oh my! What if my internet has a day where it just keeps going off. I should have a 1 hour penalty for it.
You realize if you add a 5-10 minute penalty on a dc.. The casual players are just like... Yep done with this game for the day. Just another way to lower the player base. Not that you really want a game full of DC'ers... But in this game they really don't matter.
I'd much rather have a DC in Dead by Daylight in the game then a game that's actually competitive. DCing in League of Legends, Dota, Counterstrike... That's annoying. Dbd games last like 2 minutes.
No....say a killer for example disconnects right at the start of the match...you will acquire a very small amount of points...nowhere near enough to maintain a pip however. An early killer disconnect will def result in a pip loss.
I don't want to act like it's only a problem from killers either.....having teammates DC is equally frustrating.
At least occasionally a killer will have pity on you for it happening and let you farm some points....but that's rare also.
DC'ing is def an issue.I just started playing DBD again about a week ago. The other day I had a killer DC against me at the start of the match. I was given BP's that equaled a pip exactly. Isn't that how it is working for everybody? If that's the system... I don't see why that isn't fair.

I wear a bright pink jacket on Claud... So no hiding in a corner for me. But if you wanted a real answer to this... I'd say it probably isn't just those two characters. It's probably most of the newer ones. And it might have something to do with them being newer to the game? Just kinda makes sense. I know as someone that has played for a long time... I got Claudette to P3 and got her all the perks in the game. After that I haven't ever put a blood point into a survivor. There's no reason to? So there's probably a lot of players out there that don't change off one survivor. It's not like survivors have different skills or play styles. So a lot of the older players probably have a maxed out Claud/Jake/Dwight/Megan/Nea and then the newer players to the game probably like the look of the newer survivors.

Yeah. Enjoy it the way you want to. Play casually if that's what you're up to. And for sure the ranking system is terrible. A rank 1 killer going to survivor for the first time... Obviously they know how to play survivor. You watch people do it to you. It's not hard to mimic others gameplay. That's why I never understood why people take this game so seriously. I've watched 10,000 other survivors run the same loop as you do... Clearly I've learned how to do it. I'm not that type of player though. I just run and try to survive. If I die.. Then I die. Not a big deal.
I mean how could this game even be considered competitive in the slightest. Could you imagine a DBD tournament being commentated. "Oh and the killer has caught one of the survivors finally! Oh crap! Even though the survivor made a mistake... He gets to decisive strike free. The killer is back on his trail. Oh he dropped another pallet. Oh and an instant heal has gone off! In the 1 minute and 20 seconds of this chase already 3 generators finished." After a few more minutes... "The killer is finally going to get a kill. He got him down! Oh three teammates are surrounding the killer with flashlights that instantly blind him so he cannot get a hook on him anyway. And the games over."
There's like a lot of balancing issues with DBD before this could ever be considered "Ranked" play. So do your thing. You've only got 20 hours in the game. Well that means you'll improve. Even if you don't want to take it serious. Eventually you'll get really good. It's not a skill thing. Just about putting a little time in here and there.

It’s better than Farmer DavidHonestly a lot of Meg players have an IQ of about 2000 because they get you off the hook RIGHT in front of the killer. It’s been mainly Meg and Claudette that I pull off of a person when they are trying to unhook.
I’d rather them wait until the killer is gone to pull me off of a hook. The bravest survivor I normally see is surely Claudette. A lot of Claudette players will sacrifice themselves for their teammates.
Haha. Claudette's are suicidal. Only survivor I play (Since I feel like putting blood points into multiple survivors past 40 is a waste.) I sac myself all the time for my teammates. Don't know if it's intentional or I'm just not smart enough to realize that I'm being suicidal. It's one of those things where the play looks great in your head. But when you go to pull it off you realize it wasn't the best idea you've come up with.
