  • The OP is pretty accurate. There used to be a time where you had to play around pallets and try to keep them up as soon as possible. Now if you just drop them right away there's a good chance the game will be done by time they're all used up. I pretty much have only been playing survivor lately and it's really hard to not have your whole team escape. I feel like there's a ton of games where killers might get 1 hook, 2 hooks, or 0 hooks. Which is pretty crazy. They dc a lot. Can't say that I blame them.

When I play killer. I usually 4k them all. Pretty easily still. But I had a nice long break and my ranks are only purpleish right now. And it seems like the ranking system sucks. Red ranks to yellow ranks in lobbies. Kinda crazy.

  • Brutal Strength doesn't need a buff. If a perk is a common killer perk that's used it's probably in a good spot or OP. I don't think there's very many OP killer perks. But I feel like Brutal is in a fine spot as it is.

hook suiciding is just gonna become another issue lol

Not really the issue. I think people will struggle and stay in the game more often then they dc'd. I'm pretty sure most DC's were due to them not wanting to give killer points. You might see salty survivor with friends run at the killer now and just let them kill them all. For numerous reasons. Maybe they don't like the killer he's playing, the add-ons he's using, the toothpaste he brushed with that morning. But at least he'll get points for his time.

  • I actually get more excited when playing survivor. Because I've always played more killer. I've always been curious as to how I can climb to rank 1 as survivor without really playing the role very much. But I'm a lot worse then normal rank 1's. I can take a killer on a sick chase here and there... But I'm generally not anywhere as good as those people that have 5k hours played in survivor. It's so bad that against a killer like trapper. I won't use anything to juke him because I'm always thinking I'd have a trap here. And it gets me farmed by trappers all day.

As a killer I'm more tense. Nothing feels worse then having a bad game as a killer. It makes you really frustrated. I get why some people whine about killers getting bullied. Cause when it happens you feel like dog crap. But to be honest normally there's 10 good games to every bully team. I try not to let it bother me though and move on.

I like the difference between the two roles though. It honestly feels like a different game when you choose the other side. Still the same basic gameplay. But it keeps it refreshing and keeps you coming back for more.

  • I'm in the same boat. I play both. Usually hit rank 1 with both sides. But have always considered myself a killer main. I take long breaks. I go away for three months, come back, pick it up. Play for a month or two and then have to take another break again. I've never seen a problem with that.

Lately I've preferred survivor. But for whatever reason the game went from killers sitting in long queues to survivors sitting in long queues. Which is kinda weird. But it makes me not want to play survivor. Kinda weird to sit in queue for 50 seconds and get 1 hooked every game because I play solo always.

Think I'm about to take another break. Oni comes out tomorrow. So maybe that'll catch some interest. But it's surprising that in three years there haven't been any changes to the game. Everything's the same. Windows and pallets. You would've thought by now they would've come out with something else to make it different. But new killer, new survivor, new map. That's what they offer. Games still pretty good. Just gets boring.

  • I've also received the email but nothing added to my account. Weird. Glad it wasn't just me at least.

  • The power of SWF is greatly overrated. There's a lot more groups of bad SWF teams then there is good ones. Some people just blame SWF for every time they struggle to win the game. Seems like all the time at the end game lobby the killer says, "Nice SWF!" And we're all solo players.

Once in awhile you'll play against a bully squad. Just play it out and then move on. There's no reason to let it get to you and hold onto it for a long time. They play way too much DBD. I feel like playing for 8 hours a day and you might encounter 1 bully squad a day. But play against 5 teams that are so bad they have no chance against you. There's a lot more easy games then there are difficult games. Just sayin.

  • Think it is very rank dependent. At red ranks killers don't normally camp anymore. Some still do tunnel because killing 1 = easier game. So they will try to get a person out of the game earlier. But that's not every game either.

When you get to green, yellow, brown ranks. The killers will camp a lot. It's all about player skill pretty much. At red ranks the killers know they can catch survivors fast enough that it doesn't matter if they let them reset over and over again. Where as in the other ranks the killers are struggling to end chases and need to slow the game down by camping and trying to waste the other survivors time to make the saves.

Sitting at rank 1 survivor right now and I've played vs. Spirit 8 games in a row. No camping, no tunneling. Just meta killer versus meta perked build survivors. Not to much excitement.

  • I feel like they work really good in this game. You don't have to really go out of your way to do them. And most will just complete as you play the game normally. Which is what most people want out of challenges like this. When they start feeling like work is when there's a problem.

  • I don't think that it'll be very useful at all. The only way I see it being helpful is if you are good enough at getting the information and forcing the survivors to run to a different spot in the map. Like to make sure they have to drop their current pallet when you're on the side that cuts off the next part of the map that you also know contains a pallet.

But most likely it won't be very useful. It's not like it's super hard for a survivor to see pallets from a far distance as well.

  • Salty people would just end up camping and tunneling the SWF players. Don't think it'd be a very good system. Some killer players overrate SWF way too much. Most of them are just as bad if not worse then solo players. Just lose to the power squads and eat the noobies up.

  • The more and more indoor maps they introduce just makes his power more and more useless. Just isn't much fun to play in a lot of the maps that have come out recently. Might be something to do with it.

  • Oh hell no. These threads cannot be starting up. Last year these forums were nothing but QQing about having to suck plants. Now people are mad that we don't have to suck plants. Holy #########.

  • I don't get it either. I personally only play survivor when my friend plays the game. Otherwise I play killer all the time. But sometimes I have a couple of other friends that will jump in. These guys have under 200 hours played and barely know how to play the game. But the killers will camp us even though they go down in 5 seconds each and then talk trash about SWF. Think people fail to realize that 90% of SWF groups are fine to play against and you can have a fun match.

Then about 10% of the time you'll run into a full toxic bully group that poops all over you. But honestly it's not that bad. I don't really run into many groups that I can't get at least 2-3 kills. So not sure why people complain about it all the time.

  • I don't think that there's much of a problem here. Unhooking people gives a ton of points so people will actually go for saves on there teammates. Plus it puts them at risk when they go for a save.

Sitting on a generator shouldn't grant more points. It's fine the way it is. You shouldn't be getting as many points as players on the team that go for unhooks and take chases with the killer. There's already way too many survivors that crouch around doing nothing all game and refusing to take a chase. Give them more points to sit on gens and nothing will get done.

The game is about being chased by the killer. Generator simulator isn't supposed to be the fun point of the game. And shouldn't be rewarded with a ton of points. Considering generators as part of the work when you're holding a mouse button and watching a stream on your second monitor isn't 'work.' Having a good chase with the killer that causes him to waste time and saving teammates that are in a bad situation should be rewarded as such.

  • DS is no where near the most powerful perk in the game. It's a wasted perk slot. Just pick the survivor up and get it over with. Some people really lack confidence in their chase potential. It's got nothing to do with a perk being OP.

  • Not understanding why this is a buff to survivors. When a person is being pulled off a hook you should already be chasing someone else. No reason to have to run back to the hook and tunnel the person coming off of it. I never see borrowed time as it is. Probably for that reason.

Wow, so many people clinging to their fake story.

They actually said, they can only do one of the two, either SWF or KYF and they did KYF because it was easier.
Because they could not figure out how to balance SWF.
    And they still can't.

Are you really trying to tell me that SWF is balanced?
You just trying to cover up that SWF is broken af!

Wow so many entitled whiny killer mains clinging to their lies it's sad, so let's post some facts to disprove you yet again.

The game was officially launched on June 14. 2016 and the path that contained the SWF was launched on July 4, 2016

That's 20 days in between the game launching and the patch releasing, 21 if you count the same day it was launched.

Now if we take out weekends where the devs usually don't work, especially Sunday's that means there was only 13 days for the devs to have worked on the patch before it got released.

So we're to somehow believe according to your failed logic that the devs managed to code that major change, get it tested, fix any bugs and ensure it was ready in 13 days.

Yeah your claims are once again absolutely ludicrous and you know it but just can't let go of your hatred for SWF. But go already and keep claiming such utter nonsense since it just makes it that much more obvious you have nothing to back you up.

Don't know if you actually played back when the game was launched. But there was a reason SWF was pushed out so fast after launch. When DBD first was released it had everyone leaving games over and over again until they found their friends in a game. It was ridiculous how long people would try to get in their friends lobby. Which of course just caused lobbies to constantly have people joining and leaving. I'm not arguing that SWF was never supposed to exist. I honestly have no idea if it was. But from my knowledge it seemed like they had decided SWF wasn't how they intended the game to be played. But.. Because everyone was getting tired of spending time playing lobby simulator... They decided to come out with SWF to keep everyone from just quitting the game.

Call Of Duty games would like to have a word with you on most toxic or really any EA game like Battlefront etc.

How is a game like COD toxic in the very least? I haven't played Battlefront at all. But no one ever talks in a COD lobby. Every once in awhile you'll get someone without push to talk and you can hear everything going on in their house. Which is a little toxic. But it's not like people flame each other over COD. Is there some dark secret to COD I don't know about?

  • This is actually a pretty important. I've never been one to dodge lobbies because of a SWF team. Nor do I run the most try hard add on's when a SWF pops into my lobby. But if I do have a SWF team that joins up I want to be able to put on a killer that has perks. So probably some kind of indication that they're a 4-man squad would be good.

But, I'm super happy that the queues should be good again. I barely have played any killer games for the last month or so. Surviving is okay but I do like to switch it up.

I embraced the fact that DBD is a toxic game a long time ago. I think it's the biggest reason that I come back to the game over and over again. I've never been one to quit playing something and then pick it back up again. I love the fact that my steam profile is full of posts from DBD players. I have like 2,000 hours into CS Go... Not a single profile post. 2,000 hours into Path of Exile... No profile posts. All these games that I've played for long periods of time that lead to nothing. I have 800 hours on Dead By Daylight... I get a profile post at least once every couple of days. It's great. I feel loved and wanted thanks to this community.

Why do I play killer? The salt. Nothing more satisfying then the end game screen loading up. You sit there in the lobby. Waiting for someone to talk. Wondering what is going to come out. They never disappoint you. It's fantastic.

Of course... I play both sides. And as a survivor I T-Bag every window or pallet I vault. In the endgame lobby I hit that killer with the GG Ez. Even if I got owned in 3 seconds into the match. I tell them that they use crutch perks and camp. (Most of the killers actually do camp/tunnel.)

It's a great cycle that will keep me coming back forever.

Then there's the legends. There's the guy that names himself after a celebrity criminal (Cosby) and plays Leatherface with Claudette mask on. Spamming "YOU SURVIVOR PIGS!" in the post game lobby. Hitting everyone with that copy - paste. Admit it. This game is the freaking best.

Eh, my impression is proven correct over and over again: if I see 500< hours of CS:GO on a player's profile I always think: "Wanker confirmed".
Not that I don't enjoy the salt myself. But being and [BAD WORD] on purpose? Moronic.

I'm not quite sure what you were trying to get at. I guess I'm American so I don't really understand the whole British insult thing. Yes I'm a wanker. I have been known to masturbate occasionally. Along with just about everyone else the world. So... Anyone that plays CS:Go masturbates like the rest of the world?

The filter kind've cut out the word you called me. But I'm going to assume it wasn't a nice one. But if you can't handle a GG Ez... The internet probably isn't the place for you. Maybe you should settle for an afternoon on the couch with some Dora the Explorer.

It's all one vicious cycle of people becoming soft. Guess what dude. No one should be required to like anyone. No one has to be nice to anyone. It's okay to offend people.

Or disable the end game chat for the softies.

Don't get me wrong I still generally get 3/4 kills everyone with him put I reckon they should make his cloak outline a little bit less visible.

Well this right here is the reason why he's not completely invisible. Games not designed to easily get all four kills in every single match. A buff like that just isn't needed. Wraith for a long time was a joke of a killer. Maybe a buff like that would've been justified. But at the current state I feel like he's a very strong killer. And he deserves it. Wraith was pretty much unplayable at one point.

The only crutch perk in this game is ds. It requires nothing of you except hitting a skillecheck which gives you a free escape and a killer stun. The only guaranteed counter for it is rancor and can be only achieved once all the gens are done, if the killer decides to use that perk.

D/S is the most overrated perk in the game. Even if you don't juggle or slug the person with d-strike... The perk let's you get off his shoulders once, and get a few feet away from the killer. But people whine about it like it's broken. There's so many better perks in the game. Where as NOED is a perk where a killer can lose all game and then end up getting 3-4 kills. NOED is so much stronger then D/S. It's silly that you'd even make a statement like this.

  • NOED is certainly a crutch perk. Don't know what you're smoking. A lot of the new perks that have been introduced to the game lately are. All these perks and add on's that allow you to 1-shot people are ridiculous. I play killer mostly and don't use all of these 1 shot mechanics. I actually enjoy chasing and having a fun game. I don't know how the games changed so much over the past year but it has, and it isn't for the best. Killers that use these crutch perks and add on's just really give survivor teams little chance. I'm not talking about cool killers that actually play like a normal human being and give the other side a chance. Seems like there used to be a lot of them. But since returning to DBD lately, most killers are just tunnelers and campers. Using 1 shot perks at that to make it even easier for them.

But I guess for some people that's a fun environment.

  • I disagree. I feel like trapper is probably the best killer in the game. He completely shuts off areas of the map. If you're good with his trap placements then the survivors have no where to go. I'd actually call him OP. I love his add on's too. They're really strong. The one that sets traps randomly every 30 seconds is insanely good.

I do feel like as trapper Hex: Ruin is a must. It just delays the game so you can set up early. I don't know if any other killer benefits from that perk as much as Trapper does. Even if it dies early, it usually is enough to get the early game done.

  • If you want to buff Ruin then it needs a nerf as well. Ruin is already a very strong perk and most killers are running it. So if you wanted to make it so it links to 4 totems and each survivor needs to cleanse a totem... Then you need to nerf how much it effects generator repairing speed. Otherwise you just leave it as is.

  • I mean you also mentioned being able to buy blood point offerings as well. Which is certainly p2w. Anything that you can purchase to get ahead of other players is pretty much the definition of P2W.

But even the map offering isn't good. If you pay a few hours of killer/survivor a night. You'll run into the same players over and over again. Being able to spot a user and be like, oh this is that nurse player, send him to this map. Especially when you want to buy Haddonfield offerings. Pretty sure I'm not the only one on that thinks that map sucks for killers.

  • I'm on the side with the person saying lag isn't an issue. I play both sides. I feel like I barely ever get into a laggy game. Once in awhile it'll start smooth and get laggy. But I just finish the game and not cry about it. But it's probably 1 match every 30 matches that I experience a laggy killer. The rest I just leave their lobby at the start, and I barely ever have to do that.

Dedicated servers would be great and all. But it probably isn't something they're going to pay for. I mean how much money do you think DBD actually sells? Probably not very much. Games been out for two years. The people that want to play it do. The skins in the store are a meme. Every other game on the planet is doing far better on skin creation. I doubt many people buy these Auric Cells for crappy skins lol.

  • No reason to make the game Pay to Win. It's a bad thing to have associated with your game. "Oh how is Dead by Daylight?" ... "It's a ######### pay to win game." Boom right there another consumer lost. And they didn't even realize that the "p2w" is map offerings.

  • I doubt that I'm the only one wondering, what is the point of this? So confused.

  • This doesn't even make sense. There's plenty of things that could use nerfing in the game. But this is just pointless. If anything survivors should be benefited for staying injured and not healing. It's putting them at a disadvantage.

  • No idea why there has to be ideas for two easy topics.

DS is fine. As annoying as it is... DS barely effects the game and most killers just juggle you onto a hook anyway. I tried using DS for the first time since it was in the shrine about 3 weeks ago. In about 10 games I got to use it once or twice. The rest of the time I just got juggled to hooks. So that seems like a perfectly fine perk. I'd actually consider it weak.

Hatch doesn't need to be reworked. Stop doing hatch standoffs. If the last survivor finds the hatch and you cannot kill him before he gets there, just give the guy the hatch. It's really not a big deal. No need to cry or hold a game hostage because one person made it out of the match. You're wasting life away by waiting there.

  • Queue times suck. I've just switched over to survivor when I play now. Pretty much abandoned ship though. Waiting anything over 1 minute for a game like this is just too long. Hopefully they fix it one day. Until then I'd just move over to survivor. Instant queues and easier game play. Win-win.

  • @ad19970 said:
damn right now I'm playing and i am finding lobbies instantly. Like 1 or 2 seconds after I start a lobby. At rank 1. No idea what's going on with the match making right now.

Lucky. Still 5-10 minutes for me. Thinking about hitting this with the uninstall again. I feel like 5-10 minute wait for a 10 minute game is just not really worth it. I miss the days of instant queues.

  • How long does this last for? I guess I've never seen this event. Just double BP weekends.

  • I hope not. I cannot wait for this event to be over. Haven't been able to play killer at all for over a week. I'd rather go back to the normal game. Please don't extend it.

  • Playing video games for 24 hours straight isn't healthy. Why would anyone make an event like this?

  • I'd give like a 5/10. I think they tried to add an event that was fun. But it just wasn't executed great. Too many farm games. Queue times for killer is insane. People that didn't take Ruin out of their build made the game so slow that it was impossible to have fun in. Cosmetics are kinda bad. I know people are super hyped for the cosmetics. But I think I've just played too many other games where they'd be rated really low in terms of 'skin.' Though Doc and Wraith are pretty cool. I think they should've done something really cool with the weapons at least. But I'm not lowering the rating cause of the skins or anything. It was fun to have something else to occupy your time.

I don't like that the event offerings are in the bloodweb. I think it would be a lot better event if just every game of DBD that started up had the event offering for everyone. Just a lot of wasted points into survivors.

  • The fact that you harvested a plant and moved around the map means it was longer then 10 seconds. Maybe it was 45 seconds to a minute? I bet 100% that what happened was he walked over. Found 3 survivors all eating the same plant. Held down M2. They didn't care. They just wanted to fight over the flower. And he fed off of them extremely hard till he was almost T3. You came around the corner he pressed M2 and instant killed you.

  • I'm starting to think it's a bug or something. I go 10-15 minutes as well to get people in my lobby. The first like 4-5 people leave. Then it takes another 10 minutes to finally get enough people to stay. Then to top it off... I play like the same 12-15 survivors over and over again. Ever since the patch on Monday I only see the same people in my lobbies. I think a lot of them are getting sick of seeing me. I have to try and change my build up every time to throw them off. But they're all nice peeps and all. It just gets boring playing the same survivors over and over.

  • I disagree with people saying that trapper feels weak. I hadn't played him in a very long time. But during this event I decided to finish getting him to T3. So I spent a million BP on him the first day of the event and he has all my offerings on him. Which means I've played him since the event started. Absolutely love him. He hasn't changed at all. I was wondering why people were ranking him as a weaker killer. Couldn't be further from the truth.

I'm probably at lvl 90 or so on my bloodweb. I don't even have rank 1 BBQ and Chili and I have rank 2 Ruin only. I feel like there's probably no killer in the game that needs Ruin more then Trapper does. So I cannot wait to get rank 3 and use it. BBQ I dunno... I'm not good at using that perk. But I know it's pretty meta. It just didn't exist in the game when I used to play. I usually hook and never even use it to see where survivors are.

But... He's great. I don't play campy at all. So I don't 4 kill every single game. But I know that I'm doing my job chasing people down. Getting everyone hooked at least twice a piece. He's such a fast killer in movement speed. And while people know where you hide traps now.... They never seem to go out of the way to set them off. Just trap up every pallet and killer shack. Then throw traps in random spots where no one would expect... They go off like crazy. I have times where 3-4 are popping within seconds. Last night I had a four kill game probably within 30 seconds of the game started. Downed 1. Then two stepped into traps at the same time. And got the guy that came to save them all right after. Absolute massacre. I honestly don't know if there's a killer in the game that's as scary as trapper is.

  • D/S isn't even a problem. Not sure why people even complain about it anymore. Been playing at rank 1 again and I see that perk like once every 10 matches? I think people overplay it way too much. Granted it's an extremely over powered perk. But it seems like most survivors prefer not to use it. Which I am surprised at. Because in my time playing survivor... DBD is at a terrible place. It's like 1 every 10 games where you don't face a camper. I dunno. Wish the good killers would come back into the game. It seems like all the bad camping ones stayed instead.

  • @Nickenzie Probably suffering from the windows 10 update problem? When I preform actions it makes my game freeze up. Apparently the only way to fix it is to revert your windows back to like November 2017. Not really worth the effort. But it freaking sucks. Even if I swing at a survivor right iin front of me. The frame drop will make me auto miss them. Pretty tiltiing. Then when I'm playing survivor a killer will hit me and I'll frame drop into a wall and lose the speed to get away from him. :(

  • SWF should be paired up with killers around rank 1-5.

  • It's easier to do as a survivor. Maybe not to do and survive every game. But killers barely get a full vial in a game. Survivors get a full 1 almost every game. Killers have like 10-20 minute queue times where survivor are instant. I don't see how anyone could say that killer is easier to do the event on. I agree that facing killers that are running Ruin during this event are easily able to get a 4 kill game. Give it a couple of days and no one will be working on the event anymore. The more and more people that finish, the less people will need to harvest. Meaning we'll be back to the gen rush meta soon.

  • Just wait it out. I'm sure that the really try hard people are getting close to done with the event. A couple more days and I would assume that things will go back to normal. Once you have 2 or so players in the lobby that don't need to collect then the games will go back to gen rush.

  • @Tsulan said:
My only wish for the next event is, that we get skins for the other survivors which are also steampunk.
Oh and that killers and survivors share their vial progress. So we don´t have those long killer queues, because survivor mains have to play killer. Just 60 vials.

For sure. I usually play both roles a bit. But never been a huge fan of playing survivor. I just feel useless to my team. I might enjoy it if I didn't hit rank 1 every season and actually played killers around my skill level. So right now I'm sitting at the top ranks. Getting farmed by every killer in the world. I never considered myself toxic towards my teammates. Always have gone out of my way to try my best. Though playing this much survivor has caused me to just eat some plants and then die whenever.

I just can't handle the killer queues right now. It's so bad. I'm further on survivor then killer because of it. And well I just want a chance to play killer again :(

Yeah but the problem with your idea is if you make a different ranking system for both. Then there will have to be two different queues. Meaning that a killer would have to queue up to face a SWF team. Correct? Not sure it would really do anything if that wasn't the case. I don't understand what you're saying I guess. Because no one cares what rank is next to your number.

So what can we do ? Swf is too easy and strong

Just get owned once in awhile. Sadly that's all you can do. I don't dodge SWF normally. But if I see a group that's just really try hard and they get my lobby again later in the day, I'll just dodge them. Not now cause killer queues are like 10 minutes but when they're instant. Not that I think dodging is a great strat. I just know that certain groups are going to go super sweaty on me. It's never a fun match when that happens. So if you're playing killer maybe just start to notice names you play a lot.
