Adept achievements? I've never really tried for achievements in Steam games before. But if you play like 5 games with each killer. There's no way you're not going to 4k a squad right? Like it might not be 1 game. But I couldn't see it taking a ton of time for adept achievements. But I liked old reset better.

I can respect that opinion. I’m red rank myself, and often do stuff that a rank 20 does, and that in itself doesn’t bother me. It’s the simple things like pallet stun on the killer and still get downed, oh dead hard to a window, but the killer has increased speed so still lose it. Oh got downed just before the exit opened no worries I have DA miss that extremely small skillcheck game over.. It’s not even that, it’s the so obvious disadvantage there is to being a solo q survivor that no one seems to care about, or acknowledge is a real problem that bothers me... there is a person on this message board complaining about DS, easily the easiest perk to counter ... saying suvivors abusé it like give me a break
Well being in a SWF team isn't going to prevent most of what your complaints are about. Every game that you play has input lag. Like in COD when you got around that corner but still got shot. It's because there was input lag and you were still in sight and got killed before getting around that corner. It's the same with DBD. You got through that window. You cleared the hit. But on the killers side of thing you didn't make it through that window far enough. At least that's how I just imagine it. So I don't get mad about it. I'm not going to act like I've never been like... ######### IS THAT HIT! BULLCRAP! But I honestly don't let it bother me much. Solo is always going to be at a disadvantage. And it'll all depend on the killer you get as well. Some killers aren't as nuts as others.
You have some killers that don't camp, tunnel, use all three hooks on every survivor and allow the game to be fun. You have other killers that sweat DBD. Can't blame them either though. Playing both sides... Once you've been bullied a time or two during the night. You're ready to crap all over everyone's game.
But in the end. I think solo is nice and peaceful. I've had a few people add me. Though never have played with any of them. I'm sure that you could easily make friends. But I can't play 30 games of DBD in a row. I get a few in and then I'm zzzzZzzz'd into something else.
-
I'm a solo player as well. I love it. I get really bad teammates maybe 1 in every 5-6 matches. It doesn't bother me. I don't consider myself a rank 1 survivor either. Even if I can never fall from that rank. But I mess up and my teammates probably hate me once in awhile. I just don't let it get to me. Maybe some of us have the mentality that we don't have to win every game. SWF teams usually cry really hard when one of them dies. Us solo players are used to dying here and there.
-
People are allowed to feel how they want. If it's a three vs one and you tunnel and camp hooks and slug the third guy to go for a 4k. I'm not going to flame you in the lobby. I'm a pretty quiet guy. But I'm certainly going to sit there and be baffled by how pathetic you are that you had to waste everyone's time being afraid that one person might escape by hatch. Free to play however you wanna play. But if people don't like it you can't sit there and tell them you have to like it either. This thread is kinda pointless.
-
I don't give up on first hook very often. But there's instances where you shouldn't punish for it. If you're on a hook and one teammates being chased. And the other two survivors are on the same generator together and neither come for the save. Why wouldn't you give up on the hook? Why get mad at the person that gave up? You guys left them on the hook. They don't owe you anything only to not get saved.

Yep. As a solo player I am considering quitting for the first time (or not playing that much) until a decent ranking system is implemented. Solo survivor was tolerable for me before the rank reset changes but now I get useless teammates way too often. All that rank reset change did was nerf solo players. One of the worst changes in the game so far.
Besides rank reset was fun. I know that it could've caused some frustration where players that were new were running into really good players. But it was only a couple of days. And it was nice to have games that weren't try hard all of the time. A little break from the usual is always a nice thing. But right now the ranks are just screwed. Everyone that puts hours into the game will hit rank 1. Still I don't struggle to win. Still feel like I get a lot of decent teams. But when you get a bad team... It's not like there's 1 bad person on the team. It's all 3 or 4 of you are terrible. And the games over before a gens done. And it's super awkward. Haha
-
Yeah. I hate the ranking system for survivor. Played a ton more killer over my time in DBD. Yet I'm still perma stuck as a rank 1 survivor. I don't SWF. I'm a pure 100% solo player. And I can't derank at all. Sometimes I run into games where I can't compete at all. I feel like I'd be great anywhere between maybe a rank 5-10 spot. Purple ranks and green ranks would probably be fine. But when you've put like no hours into survivor it gets really annoying that you can't leave rank 1.

Who would you recommend for killer bp farming at higher levels? I started trying to get better at nurse, and my huntress is at 50 and I’m decent with her. Most of my other killers are either not leveled at all or around 30-40 for teachables.
I've heard that Legion is pretty good at farming BP's. I would imagine because his power brings up his deviousness points? Where as some killers it's hard to get devious points all of the time. I personally used to play Billy the most and have a ton of killers P3 with only 1100 hours in the game. And I've always found him to be really good at farming points. I feel like he's always in a chase and the map pressure leads to a ton of points.

Camping killers is a terrible strat. There's really no way to camp anymore. Maybe if you're facing a Leatherface then it could be an issue. But with 3 healthy survivors and the perks they have. The killer has really no way to camp. Borrowed time and body blocking will easily get a camped survivor away free. You just got to have a team that's willing to man up and do it. If you have teammates that play afraid then it won't work. But if you have survivors on your team with any amount of confidence you're going to get saved.
-
I like what I read in patch notes. I don't PTB or watch streamers. So I really don't know what is going on with all the complaints. But when the patch goes live we'll know more. It's probably best to not stress over things before it goes live. From what I hear and read on the forums is that normally a killer is brought out strong. But gets nerfed hard before it's ever released. Sure there will be changes before it goes live.
-
SWF is so overrated. People just use it as an excuse. Sure sometimes solo players don't work well together and you got the ones that hide instead of taking chases. But solo players at rank 1's sometimes play so well with each other that they seem like a SWF team. That's why killers say SWF in every post game lobby that ever existed.
SWF where all 4 members have over 5k hours in the game is what is broken. Bully squads. And there's really never going to be a way to be able to nerf that.
-
Killers get a lot more blood points. They've tried to balance it over time. But it really hasn't ever worked. I guess the way you could defend this is that survivors can do sometimes 2 games in the time a killer is in a game if they're the first one dead. But if you really wanna farm BP's put on BBQ chili and go to town playing killer.
-
I play solo survivor and don't have really anything to complain about. Sometimes the team is just horrible and nothing works right. But most of the time it feels fine to me. I still get accused of being SWF even though none of my friends really touch DBD at all. I feel like even as a solo player I escape almost every game. And there's not much competition at all.

So basically Marth won't be able to get a 4k every game. Boo hoo.
Well in the full video he comes up with three changes that are bad for survivors and one that is bad for killer. I think people fail to realize that people tend to play both sides. Well at least killers often play survivor too. If you played this game 100% as a killer you'd burn out and never last. So people kinda prefer a balance so they can have fun on both sides.
-
Don't listen to the post game lobby. People are just baiting you. Just a simple GG and move on. No reason to try and understand the mentality of people that play this game. It's like yesterday I had someone say oh you played really well clown! And of course another person had to make sure I didn't find any sense of pride and said, NO YOU DIDN'T! YOU'RE A ######### KILLER!
Barely anyone is genuinely going to be nice to the other side. But it's pretty easy to tell if they are or aren't. I have a few friends that play DBD on occasion and their sole reason for playing is so they can flame the killers at the end of the game. They find it fun. They say ridiculous things that don't make sense. And still the killers get super angry. I'm sure they're not the only ones that do the same thing.
-
I get instant killer queues whenever I play killer. I have 5 minute wait times as a survivor and that's pretty consistent. So maybe this will even out the queue times. What a great patch it'll be !
-
I was going to say what was posted above me. I never see camping. So I wouldn't know why it was an issue. But I guess at lower ranks maybe there's more campy playstyle. But don't see face campers at all really.
-
It gets tougher and tougher everyday. I've pretty much switched sides these days. Killer isn't much for me. I feel like when I look on profiles there's 5,000 hour played survivors in every lobby. I'd suggest going over to the dark side. But if you put the time in it'll get better and better.
-
You seem to be doing something wrong. I wouldn't suggest prestige on all killers at once. I normally play a few that are already there while I work on my other ones. So it's not really anyone's fault but yours that you were facing meta builds with no perks. That doesn't make the survivors wrong in anyway. And also don't take teabagging too serious. It's just in fun. Some people do it to be a dick I'm sure. But not everyone tea bags to make the killer angry. I do it when I'm waiting for the killer to come through a window or break a pallet. I don't mean to offend killers with it.
Them talking crap. Yeah that's common. Being a dick in post game lobby is going to happen. And of course it feels bad because it'll always be 4 v 1. So you're getting flamed from all directions. They used to not have a post game chat. I don't know who decided that was a good idea. But it wasn't.

If survivor chase for 2 minutes killer i assume loopable dont even know how to play.
I've had games where the killer chased me through all five gens. I've also had games where I've screwed up and chased the same survivor through all 5 gens. It happens. Doesn't mean that they don't know how to play. Some games go really bad. Also sometimes people tilt. Tilting is always a good way to start performing poorly.

The people who say they survive a majority of the time at red ranks are the same people running urban evasion and left behind LOL.
Hiding is probably the worst way to win games. It hurts your team and would probably cause you to lose more often. The more you hide and make the same two people take all the chases the more likely you are to lose. If all 4 people are taking chases it's very easy to win games. If a killer has to hook 4 people multiple times he has no shot. The way that teams lose is by taking people off the hooks and hiding the whole game. It leads to the same two people getting downed three times in a row and getting eliminated from the game. So I don't think that's the case.

Well that's what breaking up the tiles is aimed at. Noob survivors don't chain tiles together, they rarely loop, and typically just camp the pallet. You rarely see someone who actually knows how to run every tile and will be chaining them together in a gigantic loop.
Everyone has different experiences. Exactly why these forums are filled with threads about balancing every day. I've got 1,100 hours according to my steam in the game since launch. I've had it from the beginning. So I don't play super frequently. I take months without playing it often and just come back as a casual player. I've also found myself being a killer main most of my time playing. I'm sitting at rank 1 survivor right now and finding it impossible to lose. Where as my killer rank is 7 and playing killer isn't any fun right now. I still spend all my blood points in my killers hoping someday I'll enjoy it again. I've also never used add ons while playing killer, no mori's, no NOED. Right now as a survivor I've noticed every killer runs NOED. I'd rather play survivor over feeling the need to turn NOED on to get free hooks at the end of the game.

I'm just saying, as the game currently stands, you can watch some of the best killers win hundreds, if not thousands, of games in a row. I know one killer who has lost only ~15 games in the last 1100. And the losses were to tryhard SWFs. That should tell you the state of Solo Q. The fact they are nerfing it sounds so bad to me, coming from someone who plays both sides.
That's great. But probably not very common. Stats like those are impressive. I've always felt that I played good as killer but not on that level. You cannot balance the game based on the top skill level of players though. Your friend might be the best killer player in the world. Doesn't mean everyone is performing that well.
-
I don't know. If you're undefeated in tournament play. I don't think that people on these forums are going to be able to give you advice. I doubt many people here have taken the game seriously enough to do competitive DBD.
-
When you talk about 'perfect' gameplay. You're saying both sides are playing perfectly. I would assume in that kind of a situation survivors are going to win an easily. Because if one survivor has 'perfect' gameplay and can last in a two minute chases. Then 4 of 5 generators will be done. So it'd end up being 1 gen left and a save for the team. I feel like right now if survivors play perfectly it's an easy 4 man escape. But I think it'd be a decent situation if perfect gameplay would result in 1 or 2 kills per game. You have to remember, 4 people performing perfectly is always going to be stronger then one person playing perfectly though.
-
Obviously 1 vs 1 it's the killer. But as a four man team the survivors seem to be more powerful. But when you read other peoples posts it's hard to tell. I'm just going on my knowledge. I've always played more killer. But for the last 3-4 days I've been playing a ton of survivor. And every game the killer gets 1 hook before the generators are repaired. All killers are running NOED so sometimes they might get 1-2 kills because of NOED perk. But most games all 4 of us survive. But I think the matchmaking being broken is making it hard to tell as well. I do face some red ranks. But I'm at rank 1 playing against rank 10 killers a lot too.
-
I'm curious as well. I see a lot of posts on here saying that killers have it easy. I've been playing survivor the last few days and I'd say that 3-4 people escape in 9 out of 10 games. I don't see this killer being strong thing.
-
The patch notes are great. Killer don't need massive buffs. But small little buffs like these is pretty good. I don't think the game will change drastically. But it'll certainly give them a little loving.
-
Yeah. I don't understand why DS is always brought up. It's a strong perk but in no way broken. I honest think Borrowed Time is the most broken perk for survivors. The fact that you can pretty much get a free escape at the end of the game with nothing the killer can do. But DS... Really? It's the most overrated perk in the game.
-
Yeah this is stupid. I love playing both sides. But have been doing some survivor the last few days. Almost every killer runs NOED right now. I keep getting match with purple and green ranks. Don't know if it's just because of that. But I can't believe every killer is running NOED. What a ######### show at the end of the game.
-
Think I only see a mori maybe once in every 50 games. I don't lose sleep over it. I just move on to another game.
-
Enjoy him while you can. Every time they add a new indoor map he seems to be a worse and worse choice. Still good. But I swear every time I pick him I get a map where you can't chainsaw.
-
This is really not a big issue. Not sure why it's always brought up. Yes the ranking matchmaking is broken right now.
But a rank 10 survivor can be just as good as a rank 1 survivor. Every survivor player that plays frequently will hit rank 1. There's really no skill difference between the ranks.
-
DS at end game is really the only time I hate it. I feel like borrowed time and DS make the end of the game impossible for killers. It's mad frustrating that there's nothing you can do. If you had a bad game and the other three survivors are all alive and off hooks. There's nothing you can do to stop the unhook. 3 survivors run for the unhook. You have to swing at one eventually. Pull the guy off. He spends the entire time trying to force a body block. Between all three of them body blocking there's no way to get any of them before the gate.
-
NOED's been in the game since launch. No one really gives a damn about it anymore. It's what it is. I hate facing NOED when I play survivor. Makes the end game pretty snoozer. But I don't rage about it either. Killer mains and Survivor mains can agree about one thing. If you use NOED then you're not very good at playing killer and need a perk to save you all of the time. No one's going to respect you. So if you're okay with that then run it. No one cares.
-
I run: Lithe, Adrenaline, DS, & Self-Care.
Feel like DS and Self-care aren't really needed. But they're just there for situations where they're needed. Feel like if I had Jane leveled up I'd probably go with the perk where if you break a totem you heal in a locker. That seems a lot stronger then self-care. And you can replace DS for just about anything. Most killers wait it out anyway. But feel like perks for survivors aren't very important. I'd probably replace it with Plunderer's and do often when I want to play around with items.
-
Pretty sure I've come to the accurate conclusion that survivors find a killer boring if he's good. If it makes it so they can't hold mouse one while watching youtube on the other monitor. They don't want to play against it, zzzzzZZzz.

Fair point, I think I have a mental thing where if I don't get hit by DS for the whole game I can't really be accused of tunneling, since my comeback is usually "well did you get a chance to use your DS?".
Given the situation it doesn't have to be a tunnel. I'm assuming you would go back to the hook because you haven't found a chase yet. That's usually the only time to go back to the hook. If you're in a chase you shouldn't break it to go back. So you got a little ways away. The survivors pulled the guy off the hook. When you get back to that situation. If you don't see anyone but the injured person. You're not tunneling if you chase them. Stop listening to what these survivors tell you.
If you pull someone off the hook when the killer is nearby. It is now your job to take that chase. If you crouch behind a tree and your teammate gets chased again. That's your fault and not the killers. So chase them, eat the DS, move on. Sometimes I grab a survivor and get ds'ed and I'm like wth? Because I don't always pay attention to who was hooked and who wasn't. And if they heal under the hook or whatever. They both look like new chases. I'm not memorizing everyone's character and outfit.
Either way don't listen to their bullshit. When I win a game of DBD... I hook all four survivors three times. I never camp, never force people into one hook situations. Still my profile is full of comments about me being a camper and a tunneler. I don't let it bother me. I play both sides. I know what camping and tunneling is. So I'm not going to sit here and lose sleep over it. ######### everyone. You do you.
-
I just pull them out the locker. A lot of the time they don't even have DS. It's just become a common play so they get away with it. I don't try to avoid DS at all. I just eat it and move on. It doesn't really take up more then 5 seconds or so of your time. Not sure why killers walk around for a minute wasting time to avoid a stun that only usually adds a few more seconds onto a chase.
-
I love how every conversation about killer turns into survivors telling killers to just use this perk, and this perk. And throughout a day on the forums the survivors have told killers to use 35 different perks to counter all the things people are complaining about. But killers get 4 perk slots. Survivors have like 8 perks that are used in total. 4 base meta perks and like 4 more perks that some people use to meme with.
Gen speed's in issue. But if you really like playing 5 games in a row without being chased by the killer because the gens pop so fast... Have fun. That shits boring and you'd think that survivors would want to do something other then holding mouse one. Probably why I can't play more then a couple of games as survivor. Gameplay is a snoozer.
-
GG is used when I win. Otherwise there's no reason to type anything.
-
I play Freddy frequently now. He's one of the best that's for sure. Probably the killer I best perform on. That being said... I can't like chain play him. It might be a couple of games and then he's just boring as hell. Really doesn't have interactive powers. He might be the biggest basic M1 killer in the game. Really the only thing I really enjoy about him is being able to run discordance and teleport to generators that have multiple people on them. It allows him to be in a chase from the start of the game till the end. I think stuff like that simply make him strong. He's kinda like a Hillbilly that can hang a survivor and chainsaw across the map to find people for another chase instantly. Think Billy and Freddy are pretty much at that same level because of that.
-
I would assume someone would do that because he hates his teammates. You spent all that time traveling across the map to pull him off the hook. He lets go and you have to go all the way across the map again. Good way to make teammates you don't like lose. That's for sure.
-
There was once a time when killers had to run Agitation and Iron Grasp every game because they only had basement hooks to play with. Oh and if they did manage to get them there. The three survivors would take turns body blocking the door. It made getting someone hooked a terrible task. Besides the new sabo seems really good. It takes like 3 seconds to sabo a hook. Just got to be prepared when your teammates going down. Saboing a hook that the killers going to is extremely strong and can be a free save.

Dude, those games have people being toxic to teammates, during a game, routinely.
I'm honestly doubting if you've played CS:GO in all seriousness if you're really going to claim you haven't had a toxic moment in that game. Let there be one guy who doesn't know the maps in even a silver ranked game and watch the abuse fly after each and every round.
I can only assume you just mute everyone every game or something?
At least in DBD it's written abuse after the game that no one really is compelled to listen to or read.
Oh. I guess that makes more sense. I wasn't thinking about it as far as teammates. When I play CS Go it's with friends. When I play Fortnite or any battle royal it's with friends. I wouldn't really expect to drop into a game with random people and have a good time. So teaming up with people is toxic. That's weird. I tend to play solo's if I have to play alone. CS Go I've had great experiences with. I even back when I played seriously made a smurf. And my smurf got ranked super high. Way out of my skill level for sure. And my teammates cheered me on and encouraged me to keep trying. Even when I kept telling them I suck and I didn't belong in the rank. So I guess everyone has different experiences.

Top 3? Please, might not even break top 10.
League of Legends, CS:Go, Fortnite, and Call of Duty just off the top of my head are WAY more toxic than DBD.
Until a game has a professional league, so every moron can pretend they are going to be the next big thing, you really don't get the level of toxicity that lets you play with the big boys.
I don't understand your list at all. Besides for League of Legends... The other games you don't even have a way of communicating with your opponents. So how the hell are they toxic? I can say that I've ever had a toxic moment on CS Go, Fortnite, or COD.
-
A rank 6 and a rank 1 is pretty much the same thing. Anyone that plays the game can hit rank 1. It's not about performance just about how much you play. It's why the game shouldn't have a ranking system and that's been a argued fact for years.
-
DBD's toxicity is at the point that it's obsessive. If you kill the wrong person in the game they will sit on your Steam profile and comment on it for twelve hours. If you kill the right person they'll stalk and harass you. You people are pretty crazy.
-
I been having no fun. Been trying to play a bit since I'm home with a broken foot and the virus is spreading like wildfire throughout the country. 1.5x bloodpoint event seems pretty sweet. Coming back from a long break. Usually that gets me really interested in the game again. But it isn't. I play like 2-3 games a day before I'm burnt out. I've been doing well. Winning most games as killer and that's somewhat satisfying. But every once in awhile you get into a game with survivors that all have 5k hours played and it's the most unenjoyable experience ever.
Would be nice if you still lost rank at reset. You'd think after taking a couple months off you wouldn't come back and have to play the most unenjoyable games ever. I don't even care about SWF anymore. I just can't believe the amount of players that have that many hours played. They've got the game down to a science. Really don't understand how they enjoy it still. But it's kinda annoying.
-
The OP is pretty accurate. There used to be a time where you had to play around pallets and try to keep them up as soon as possible. Now if you just drop them right away there's a good chance the game will be done by time they're all used up. I pretty much have only been playing survivor lately and it's really hard to not have your whole team escape. I feel like there's a ton of games where killers might get 1 hook, 2 hooks, or 0 hooks. Which is pretty crazy. They dc a lot. Can't say that I blame them.
When I play killer. I usually 4k them all. Pretty easily still. But I had a nice long break and my ranks are only purpleish right now. And it seems like the ranking system sucks. Red ranks to yellow ranks in lobbies. Kinda crazy.
