  • To be fair... It's not like they know that you're a green rank killer until after the game. And if I went into the game knowing you were a green rank killer. I'd probably still not mess around with you. Because those lower rank killers get pretty salty. And every time you go on that hook you're at risk of getting face camped or tunneled out of the game. Better to keep bullying him :)

  • What about giving the killer 30 seconds to end the match. Everyone leaves with whatever points they've earned. No one loses/gains a pip and it's considered a draw. I really don't care either way. But it might be a good change.

The last time I had a DC at the start I left the game. I don't like playing out 3v1 games. Everyone goes stealth and the game gets boring. So I'd rather just end the game and move on to the next. Well I learned that you get a 5 minute penalty for leaving a game! Next time I'll just continue to play the game out. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to let the game be forfeited.

  • I guess one way you can think about it if you really want to be convinced of this. Killer is kinda pay for fun. Since new killers have different abilities and play styles. Which makes you want to pay money for a killer. Where as if you buy new survivors you're just wasting money. Since they don't do anything.

  • I don't know if I'd call it pay to win. The whole new player thing needs to be redone. There's no way to expect the player base to grow with how hard it is to get into the game at this point. Shrine of Secrets though is fine to get good perks. I feel like there's good killer perks in there often. So I don't think it's really that bad. I never leveled up any survivor but Claud. I just buy all the perks in the SoS. And I've got probably 80% of the perks now? All killers and probably a big majority of survivors.

Sure, NoED has been used A LOT since the Ruin nerf...

Just like it was used A LOT before the Ruin nerf!

NoED has been "popular" since 2016. Ironically, I've been seeing it less this past week than usual.

I would disagree. I feel like when the game first came out NOED was super popular. When Ruin was strong NOED wasn't ever used. And now recently it's being used again. For whatever reason I remember a very long period of time where NOED wasn't really used at all. I think it's mostly because all the red rank killers are at 500-600 hours. Red Rank survivors are at 2-5k hours. What happened to all the killer players?

gen rush is also something that takes no effort so why would you even complain about low effort playstyle? Its a game . Both sides are balanced fine.

Don't you have a thread open about how you are sick of winning every game easily? Gen rush isn't a term that probably matters to a master killer like yourself. Clearly no one can do gens fast enough to ever win against a strong man like you.

I think there's already too much information given.

You also were the one that said that Dead Hard is a second chance perk. And said that it leads to a killers losing games and compared it to NOED in some weird twisted way. You were actually the first post I've ever noticed on the forums that pretty much said, "EXHAUSTION PERKS TOO OP!"

Pretty sure if you had input on balancing this game would be as dead as Evolve.

  • You never are required to tunnel and camp. You choose to do so because you're unable to accept that you might lose a match. I get what you're saying. But I'd rather let all 4 people escape and know that I made the game extremely difficult for them over killing all of them.

  • Don't try to understand people. Before the DC penalties came into the game it was even worse. If something actually bothers me... Which is usually nothing. I would just run to the killer and let him hook me. I generally do that if he's basement camping or running something like the instant down hatchets. I'd rather just move on.

But to give up because of a Mike Myers. That's just nuts. He's pretty much a free victory.

  • Would everyone be okay with the totem counter being a thing? I mean that's really the only thing in this thread that ended up being a suggestion to how to fix this. I don't think it would fix everything. But as a solo player I think I'd really enjoy having a totem counter.

I still wonder why there's never any good arguments why NOED should be in the game. It's just always, 'CLEANSE BONES!' and all survivors want to do is win every game! Is there any killers on here that like running NOED that want to try and argue that NOED is good for the game?

  • After 4 years of DBD. You'd think that there would be changes to offerings, items, and add-ons. Not sure why they've never done anything cool with this. Map is pretty useless, broken key pretty useless. A new item would be really cool. Or maybe a way to buff maps to make them not feel garbage. Offerings could be a lot of fun as well. Not sure why they've never tried to update a very basic system that they added 4 years ago.

If you miscalculated your distance when using a loop, you can use it to get to a pallet. That might extend the chase another minute or two or even 3. The killer can lose the entire match because a survivor actually made a mistake, pressed a button to get him to a pallet. That's a lot more game changing than NOED.

So now exhaustion perks need to be taken out of the game too? Because someone used Dead Hard... Which btw is probably the most difficult thing in the game to use. I'd never touch Dead Hard. I'm too noob. I run Lithe and jump through a window instead.

But exhaustion perks are more broken then running around at the end of the game with increased speed and just 1 shotting people? I don't know man.... Not really seeing the comparison.

    It's a perk ;)

Dead Hard also rewards survivors for mistakes in every trial. ;)

That's not really true at all. A survivor is supposed to be caught by the killer. Just because a survivor ends up getting caught doesn't mean he made a mistake. Dead Hard is a perk to try and extend your chase. It has nothing to do with rewarding someone that made a mistake. I don't even know how you even began to get to the mentality you have on it.

Without these people stating the obvious and clear counterplay to noed.

If you want a discussion with only people who share your point of view then what's the point having a discussion in the first place.

I wouldn't call this a different opinion. Going into every topic in the forum and spamming 'DO BONES!' That doesn't really mean you have an opinion. This wasn't even a NOED needs nerf topic! It was about someone on twitch doing an experiment. Lol and still the 'DO BONES!' Thing was posted seconds after the thread. Obviously without reading anything. Yeah we should all value that.

That's where you're wrong, I'm a survivor main and as a survivor main, I don't have a problem with NOED. I do what I need to to prevent it, but if I get tagged by it, guess what? I get hooked and I either die or get rescued. I'm not all "jolly gee goodness" like you say, but I can accept it for what it is. It's a game, I'm not going to escape all the time. I'll probably never be a red rank and that's ok. Nobody is paying me to play, so I just have fun with it. Does it have flaws? Of course. But for you all that complain about this and that because you're not winning or because you're a red rank you should never lose, you all are being ridiculous. I've never seen a game trigger people to lose their mind like this.

I am normally the first person to beg for killer buffs. I have played killer the majority of my time in DBD. I want killers to be strong again so they don't feel the need to have to rely on NOED to get pity kills at the end of the game. I'm always going to be able to be high ranked on either side. I just have the game knowledge that makes it easy. Doesn't mean I want to win every game. I actually got mori'd in like 4 straight games last night and told the killers gg it's nice to die once in awhile. And that was that.

  • @GhostofYharnam said:

Why is everyone so against Noed. But god forbid we mention andrenline, or any other survivor perk.

The survivor sided players will happily throw Adrenaline into the trash can if NOED goes. The two perks aren't even close to being on the same level. Adrenaline is a very situational perk. Where if all 4 players are running, 3 of them just wasted it. And 1 of them actually benefited from it (The person being chased.) But in most situations Adrenaline isn't beneficial at all.

And why, perchance, are you so adamant about not cleansing dull totems? It's 1k free boldness points per totem, plus a free heal if you run Inner Strength

I mean. I feel like it's a common thing that I do 3 totems in a game. I'm not saying that I'm the problem. But as a solo survivor. When I have done 3-4 totems, I assume NOED is not in play. But then boom. It hits me. No one on my team did a totem. And they're all running out the exit gates while I die on my first hook.

And there's a lot of reason's why I'm not cleansing dull totems. There's a thing called a point system. You can't just run around the whole map and do totems. Otherwise you're not going to get points in other categories. I have plenty of games where a killer chases me through 3-4 gens. I kind've want a chance to get on a generator at times. Maybe some objective points would be nice, instead of cleansing a totem that gives me more boldness. Which I've been capped out on for 3 minutes mind you!

That's why your do bones theory is so blah. Yeah it's true. That's how you get NOED out of the game. But as a survivor you can't just take a killer for a long chase and then cleanse 5 totems and get any points. It's just all in one category.

    Fixed your title.

Hrm. Not sure if I agree with you. With that building being there as well. I'm pretty sure I could loop a killer around that for 4 gens at least. And I don't even think I'm good.

Then blame your team, don't blame the devs and ask for nerfs. Plenty of times I've got slapped by NOED when I've broken 2 or 3 totems. It's not the game or the hex fault that it works like it should. And while you're talking about me answering the same thing to every post, talk about why there are so many posts to begin with.

Because no body likes NOED. The only people that enjoy NOED are people that have never played anything other then killer. No ones ever been hit by NOED at the end of the game and laughed. "Oh he got me good with that Noed! What a fun perk that is. I hope we find more killers tonight that use it. It makes the game feel really refreshing!"

  • @Smiler said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1228210#Comment_1228210

Exactly, it balances out. A second chance with the one, is a second chance with the other.

Anyone in their right mind would trade Adrenaline for NOED.

    Let's make it happen.

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

But we want to smash the gens and get out in 5 minutes flat to get back in queue! We don't do totems unless Devour Hope activates!

That's not what most people want. People want the game to go back to the healthy state it was once in. Where killers didn't run NOED to win games. Believe it or not. Killers used to be able to get multiple hooks in a game and keep the game competitive. They were strong and it was a challenge to beat them. And back in those times no rank killer would be running around with NOED on.

I defend NOED right now even if I hate it. I completely understand why people are using it. Doesn't make it any less annoying though. It sucks a lot.

I'd much rather have games that people got hooked frequently and every game was a challenge. But right now killers get 2 hooks total before the exit gates are powered on. And NOED comes into play. Make it so they are stronger and they can have 5-6 hooks already by time the exit gates are finished.

  • @Smiler said:

I mean, you could just cleanse totems...

And there it is. Can't have a normal conversation without these people.

  • Exactly how I feel. I love playing killer. I want killers to get buffs and buffs and buffs and feel strong again. I know it's ridiculous that at rank 1 almost all the games feel like the survivors win. But NOED isn't the answer. Get rid of NOED being powerful and give them something else. No one likes NOED! I don't even know why people defend that. Outside of killer only players, no one likes it. I'd match rather lose a game because the killer is strong. Then win the game easily and then get NOED'd and 1 hooked. And it happens game after game after game.

  • This is something I have wondered for awhile. Most games cross platform sucks. Because using a mouse and keyboard is usually stronger then a controller. But in DBD a controller is more then fine to play with. So I feel like it's the perfect cross platform game.

  • I play Claudette. I have her at T3 and all perks. I've never put points into any other survivor. So I'm pretty much stuck.

Break totems is not the counter to NOED??? You just lost all credibility with all of your posts.

I mean... Posting the same answer to every topic about it isn't helping either. Breaking totems is fine. But what feels bad about NOED is when you do break totems. Maybe 3-4 in a match. But no one on your team decided to break a totem or it was really well hidden. And then you get hit with NOED and die on a single hook. It feels like crap.

Give survivors a perk that allows them to spawn into the map and see all 5 totems highlighted. And I'll break all the totems. But NOED just feels bad and annoying. Hopefully on the new patch killers will be a little bit stronger. So they can stop running NOED and the game can go back to being normal. But right now seeing it every game is zzzZzzzz.

  • Haven't run into the AFK Wraith any time of late. How big of an issue is this really? Are you seeing this once every 5 games? Are you seeing it once every 250 games? Like come on. They can't fix every problem. Just take the free objective and escape points and move on.

  • Just try out survivor. You don't have to be forced into playing killer. Survivors a lot more relaxing and casual. I can't recall the last time I've been upset in the game. The only thing that frustrates me right now it switching over to do my killer daily. But that's like 1 game a day. Not that big of a deal.

  • Pretty sure this was how NOED worked when the game was released. I don't know if it was 120 seconds or 90 seconds. But they felt the need to change it. So I'm going to go out and guess people still didn't like it back then.

  • It's really confusing to me when I see posts like this. Maybe you're just really good at playing killer? I have a completely different experience in this game. I sit at rank 1 solo survivor and almost every game all 4 people escape. Sometimes NOED comes into play and the killer gets a 1 hook kill on 1 or 2 people. Very curious why it feels like I never face a good killer. But maybe they do exist out there.

  • Negan would be a good killer. He's a little different then the rest. But feel like you could do something with him.

  • Bro. If you're that worried about someone escaping on you.... There's a problem. If the guys head got outside of the map he beat you. You have 5-10 minutes to kill him. And you're talking about the difference of 1 seconds to crawl a little further.

  • Don't know how they do it now. But back in the day they liked to push things out after the dev stream. So I would say earliest is Thursday. But most likely it'll be the 28th from what people have been saying.

  • I just feel like you have to have an agreement here. Because it took like 2 years for BHVR to figure out how to keep you in a lobby with your SWF group. Simple tasks for most games takes BHVR a lot longer to accomplish. Something like a mute feature might be obvious for most. But it could take them 3 years.

  • @Huff said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1224026#Comment_1224026

Oh I absolutely hate NOED because I kind of agree with a lot of the stereotypes people gives it: about it being used mostly for skill-less killers who fail all game and need it to save them in the end, that sort of thing. I only really have any care about it just because it's like moris, where I feel like I run into it a little under half my games.

Thing is, I can't really hate on it too hard though. It's true that survivors can cleanse 3 totems and have their team mates do none, and suffer for it. All I really have to say to that though, is that that's what happens when you play solo survivor. Get a couple friends if you want to be super sure it's gonna get done. I say this from a solo player's perspective. I don't have friends that play DbD often, and I don't want to bother making any new ones, so that's the price I have to pay. I still cleanse totems because first, it gets me a bunch of points, and second, admittedly it keeps me a little less at risk compared to my team mates because killers are usually patrolling gens and not totems.

I don't exactly have a strong stand for NOED, as I could be just as content with it being nerfed/changed as I would with it staying the same probably. The thing about that is, we as players can't choose whether it gets nerfed or changed. We can only deal with it in its current iteration. That's why, my personal view on NOED, is that players should just cleanse the totems. It sounds cliche I know, but if it just became one of those "unspoken rule" kinds of things (like how people used to sort of all just never cleanse against Plague) then NOED's threat would be significantly diminished. One of the strongest parts about NOED is similar to (but not the same as) Devour Hope: the element of surprise. It won't reveal itself until you actually instant down somebody. If people could just simply trust each other to cleanse a totem eventually if they end up passing it by, then NOED use would be heavily discouraged, and that threat wouldn't be there.

I would agree with you. I don't complain about mori's either. Because like you I don't experience them often. But I'm sitting at rank 1 right now as survivor... I would throw out some ridiculous statistic that probably isn't true... But feels like it sometimes. 51% of red rank killers are running NOED. Now like I said, I'm over exaggerating I'm sure. But it's certainly higher then it's ever been before. 2 years ago if you're sitting in red ranks as a survivor. You're not seeing NOED. It's like 1 in 20 games. Red rank killers were too embarrassed to run it. Now it's more common then not common. Which is sort of a problem.

  • Mutes a must though. If you can't add it don't add a voice chat system. No way in hell do I wanna hear music blasting, kids crying, terrible mic quality, and young'ins.

this is the most untrue thing lmao

if i had a dollar for everytime i cleared a window and still got hit way past it then I would be a gajillionaire

Well sure. If you're one of those people that never make a mistake because they say they don't. Then sure you probably don't! But if you aren't a person that thinks everything is a bug, lag, or broken. Then yeah the hits are most likely more accurate then they appear on your screen.

I really hope the change to vaulting makes it into the live game. There's no reason not too, I just didn't see any mention of the vault changes in the patch notes.

Then it sounds more like a server fix then a vault fix. It's probably the exact same as it was. But it'll just feel smoother based on that instead of there actually being a fix. Right now if you're getting hit through a window it's because of latency and you were in range of the hit. It just looks bad on the survivors end and feels bad.

Most Rank 1 killers 4K lost of their matches. It’s interesting seeing the purple or green killers pretend to be red and lie about how difficult playing red rank killer is. If you managed to get to rank 4 and it now exponentially harder for you, it Means you’re not a red rank killer.m

BHVRs OWN stats say exactly what the OP is saying. red rank killers Destroy survivors on average.

Stats are stats. But you can start winning 80% of your games as survivor. There is one huge difference between teams that win and teams that lose. Teams that win are confident players. They stay on their gen until the killer is close to them and then take their chase. Teams that lose are the ones that walk over to a locker and get off their gen to counter BBQ and Chili.

Teams that win never abandon objectives and show fear. They play with confidence at all times. They're not afraid to be the one that gets chased next. Teams that lose hide behind a rock and make sure the killer never finds them.

If you go right now and stop hiding from the killer. If you practice staying on your gen and learning how to take the killer for a 45 second chase on average. You will win 80% of your games.

Literally the best advice you're going to ever get. And maybe you don't need it. But more people in the community need it. The killer is not a dominant presence. They noob stomp against stealth players. Confident survivors will always win. That's why they're accused of being SWF all the time even if they're solo players.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

I believe the devs said a bit over half of the games are SWF of at least 2, so half of the survivors gone would do what to wait times? And how many killers will volunteer to go into SWF only queues?

No one. Lol that's the problem with this idea. I don't even mind facing SWF. I think that SWF is one of the most overrated things in the game. I think that 90% of SWF teams are terrible and 8% of them are decent and 2% of them are unstoppable. But still. Why would a killer ever queue into SWF when they can just have easier games. I could see a few killers doing it. People that are really good and want to accept the challenge. But a SWF team would be sitting in queue for about 3 hours while the handful of killers played against other teams until they got their turn.

And your right. People would say that if you made a thread about face camping. But there's a lot of trolls on the forums as well. No body likes face camping. I don't even think face campers like face camping. It's just apart of the game and once in a blue moon you have to die for it. It sucks. When a killer knows that he's lost a game. And he goes into 'face camping mode' ... Just gotta deal with it. No one wants to be that guy on the hook. There's no reason that you can't be upset about it.

  • @Huff said:

"I get theres ways to counter it but who the [BAD WORD] is actually gonna cleanse totems during high ranks"

People who don't want to risk eating a NOED.

I'm just saying. You can cleanse 3 totems as a solo player and get hit with the NOED because no one else decided to cleanse totems. Get thrown up on the hook and be 1 hooked while the other three teammates just leave in their glory. It's just a ######### feeling as a survivor. Especially if you've played really good that game. And you get caught because of a perk with NOED.

That being said. I'm usually on the killers side. I just hate NOED and think that most of us do. But I also don't agree that survivors should be able to three man rush a hook at the EGC and used borrowed time, d-strike, and body blocking and leave the killer with no way to get a kill. You can argue that, "Killer should've played better." But I don't agree with that statement either.

And for the guy below you. I don't think Adrenaline and NOED are anywhere on the same level of one another. Sure they kinda have that same feel just because of how they work. But maybe getting a heal and a short speed burst. Isn't really on the level to having a permanent speed boost and the ability to 1 shot everyone. I think if it was an option for the playerbase. People would more then happily get rid of Adrenaline for NOED.

How is nodding while facecamping not toxic? Imo its the equivalent to teabagging at a pallet.

I would say that the face camping is the toxic part. I don't think nodding is really a big deal. He's just moving his mouse up and down. He's standing there doing nothing else. He mine as well move his mouse up and down.

  • @senki527 said:

omg, everytime I vault a window the killer can still hit me 3 meters away from it. I noticed after vaulting a window there is a short duration, where the survivor stops. please make it, that after vaulting a window you immediately run again with running speed without stopping for a second. this could solve the hitbox problem after vaulting a window.

You used to be able to fast vault every window no matter what. They decided at some point that this was not good for gameplay. I agree sometimes you get hit while going through a window and it feels bad. But overall it's a good thing for the game. If you get hit through a window it's because you were too late to the window and the killer gets his hit.

I got reported for teabagging once the killer was nodding and facecamping so i teabagged at the gate and he sent me some very mean messages. I get toxic killers more then survivors. Im on xbox so no postgame chat. Only thing i consider toxic is letting the survivors bleed out which alot of insidous bubbas like to do or nodding while facecamping and hitting a hooked survivor

One of those things. Every person individually is going to take things differently. What is toxic to some isn't to others. I'm about a 50/50 player. I played a ton of killer a long time ago. It was really my only role for a bit. Now for the last year maybe longer I prefer to play survivor. I never took teabagging as toxic. And as a survivor I teabag also. Some killers probably find it toxic and others don't. But when I drop a pallet on you and teabag you. I'm literally saying in actions, "If you don't break this pallet I'm going to loop you on it for the next minute." That's all I mean by teabagging. So if you want to take it as me being toxic, that's on you. But others might not have 'thick' skin.

I can't understand these "I'm too lazy to cleanse" threads. Noed is survivors dream perk, it really makes killers go with three perks. So easy to counter.

I don't understand if that argument is something I'll agree with. If we want to go on the using perks to counter. Survivors often use BT to counter camping, DS to counter tunneling, unbreakable to counter slugging. Killer's were given the best perk in the game with BBQ & Chili to help them stop camping survivors. There's also a lot of other little tools and perks out there that survivors use to counter killers gameplay.

In the end survivors usually end up running a ton of different perks and tools to counter killers when they run into one that has an 'unfun' playstyle. Giving up 1 perk that counters the fact that you didn't play good all game.

I would not be crazy enough to go to the point to say, "NOED is a survivor dream perk."

Conveniently forgetting the fact that matchmaking is messed up right now and your matches are probably filled with mid-rank players.

My results are similar, because thanks to the matchmaking I'm not always facing equally skilled opponents even though I am a skilled killer.

    On Topic:

It's silly to hide the grouping status of our opponents.

The argument is that players would dodge the groups and split the playerbase.

People are also forgetting that last year the grouping stats in matches was given to us and while the data is probably flawed in one way or another we can see that the smallest % of players play in 4 and 3-man groups. The playerbase wouldn't be split that badly if groups of 3-4 were shown or prevented while 2-man groups were hidden or allowed. Which means that argument isn't as good as people would think.

It might be silly that they hide it. I personally don't care if they show it or not. But how big of an issue do you consider this? I feel like it's a non issue and not worth investing timing into fixing. Why do players have to be so obsessed with finding out they're playing against SWF?

At the beginning of the game it would increase people dodging. Showing it at the end of the game isn't helping either. It's better to keep the playerbase blaming everything on SWF. You have a graph right there that shows how many more solo players there are. I'd rather just have killers that say "######### you SWF is OP!" and blame it on that. It'd just start making people even more frustrated if they started to realize they're losing to solo players over and over again. At this point just don't change anything.

  • I don't think a lot of people consider their gameplay toxic.

Camping and tunneling with an ebony. You think it's toxic, I personally agree that it's unfun. But doesn't mean everyone in the playerbase thinks it's toxic. A play style really shouldn't be viewed as 'toxic' either. Just because we don't like something doesn't mean it has to be personal in anyway. That's why I think people agree and disagree with the other side being toxic.

When I get camped and tunneled by a killer or mori'd off my first hook. I don't get mad and take it as in I've been treated badly. He was going to do the same thing to whoever got pulled off that hook. I just hit the continue button and queue up for another game instantly.

Survivor players are obviously toxic in a different way. Post game chat. They flame and talk crap. Usually trying to push it further and further. By making it racial, homophobic, or mother jokes that we all enjoy.

Maybe that's why I've never understood why survivors call killers 'toxic'. Because I never see killers start an argument in the post game lobby. It's always the survivors that start typing wars. So every time I see.... Killers are toxic I just giggle and wonder where the hell they're finding these toxic killers. Playing against mori's and campers might be UNFUN. But it's not toxic. When a game puts in offerings and add-on's - That's what they're there for to be used. Then they encourage it even more by adding mori challenges and dailies. Is it fun to play against for most? No. Is it toxic, no.

  • Think a lot of killers have just moved on. When I play killer and check profiles which I do often, I see survivors that have 3k-5k hours all the time. When I check killer profiles at the end of the game. On average these killers have 400-800 hours played. I can't remember the last time I've faced a killer that had 2k+ hours. Which it used to be pretty darn common. Could be that I just never get matched up with them. But I have a sneaky suspicion that there is a large portion of the killer base that either switched sides or moved on.
