We have been giving you suggestions not for months, for years now! What do we get? Forced graphic options, high ping lobbies and numerous game-breaking bugs upon a release of a patch. What is the team going to do with the notes? Are we magically going to get simple game settings overnight? Are the new (again, game breaking) bugs going to be fixed overnight? No. Literally nothing will happen, as usual.
Funny how you respond to this post, and not numerous others. The fear of losing players and money finally feels real when actions are put behind it, doesn't it?
You're having a mental breakdown for no reason. A forum post isn't going to cause a mass walk out on a video game. Relax and chill. I haven't played the update yet. But I'm going to go ahead and assume it's not that bad!
-
Some nights I get mori'd up to 10 times. I don't think you're the only one. It's sad out there right now! TAKE THEIR HEADS!

He's not very fun to play as. So there's that as well. Strong but def not fun to play against or play as. Just nothing to his kit to make him entertaining. Pure M1 killer.

Well after reading the OP. I don't think I'd care enough to go through that same process. I feel like most people would just let cheating go on. Whose going to spend that much time reporting someone?

But that doesn't make sense. If I had a bad round as survivor and the killer feels bad and let me have the hatch, I would be happy and wouldn't think he is just rubbing it in. And I've also never heard that a survivor was pissed because the killer gave him the hatch.
Letting the killer kill you costs you 5000 BP, who would be willing to lose that amount of BP just to rub it in, if you could just teabbag in the exit gate for the same effect?
Whenever there is a discussion about showing mercy as Killer someone says "survivors don't give free kills to the killer either, so why should the killer give free escapes to the survivor? ". And now doing exactly what thay asked for is wrong?
Yeah but that's just how it is. If it's up to me I'm going to give the survivor that played the best the hatch. If I knew a survivor was doing nothing for their team... I'm not going to give them the hatch. Giving it to someone that played well is clearly the best choice here. Why reward people that hide in lockers in the whole game over someone whose out there trying to get the objective done?
And while I feel that way. Other killers would take the survivor that's playing well and trying to give him a challenge and tunnel him off hook until he's dead. Everyone's different. But... I did say I was having fun with my answer. I really don't think it's a big deal. If you wanna give him a kill you can. But he's still rocking that ebony mori the next game.

Damn bro, you took that to a dark space.
Not every killer hits you on the hook. So I guess your suggestion is not to give them a kill. But it's ok to give a survivor the escape?
I was just kinda being a little funny about it. But I don't think I'm too far off.
I don't know. In my time as playing killer. You don't want the pity kill. When you have a terrible game as a killer it feels like crap. That's why killers get so mad when people don't leave the exit gates. They want the game over. They want to move on. The game was no fun and getting a kill at the end isn't going to make it better. The best way to make them happy would just be to get the game over as fast as possible.
I think that's why I don't play killer anymore. You're pretty much responsible for five people having fun. If you do a ######### job then no one has any fun. The stress! I don't think giving them a pity kill is helping any. But maybe.
-
Of course the killers going to give you a few whacks on the hook.
He just got looped like crazy and probably abused. He's not having a very good time as he feels helpless and can't do anything right. He's fuming at this point.
Then to top it off he has this one prick survivor that is making fun of him. Because he's going to stand there and let him get a kill. Because the guy wants to show off and pretty much spit in his face and say, "The only way you're ever going to get a kill is if I give it to you." ....
But you don't understand why he's giving you a few F U slaps? Okay buddy.
-
Sprint Burst is probably the weakest exhaustion perk in the game. I don't see why it'd be above Lithe. If sprint burst had a button to trigger it instead of it being used on cooldown... Maybe it would be an A. But in the current state it's probably like a D. Losing tons of valuable time slow walking around the map. But I guess you might be more of a stealth player like the person above said. So if you're afraid to leave scratch marks then maybe it can be effective. But probably hurting the team.
-
I used to never really give away the hatch. But I also never used to play for a 4k. I don't leave one on the ground and go for the last guy or anything. I just hook and move on. If he gets the hatch he gets it.
Lately I give the hatch to the last person. Games become way too hardcore over the years. Now I find myself being the friendly killer for a change. The game used to be full of them. Now that it's rare it seems like the nice thing to do.
-
I want killers to get buffed so they can stay competitive without running NOED and Mori's. Also less killers using VPN's. Since I play more games against Chinese and Korean killers and I'm from east USA.
I'd love to see survivors complain a little bit less in the post game. If he camps you on the hook when the exit gate is open it's not really face camping. And you still have multiple ways to save your teammate. You chose not to and now are flaming the killer for it!

I sincerely hope you people are capable of figuring out that the pebble being OP was a joke
I think it's just hard to tell. Plenty of threads with you involved in them. And it seems to be the same thing over and over again. Everything that a survivor has is OP. Everything that a killer has is easily countered. Kinda hard to tell when someones joking about something being OP when everything is to them.
-
You honestly have to play sweaty right now. It's not an option. Killers can't take it easy and get kills. People have gotten too good at the game. It's either you try hard all the time or everyone escapes. For survivors... With how common NOED and Mori's are currently. You have to try your very hardest to survive. Otherwise you're going to get tunneled off hook and mori'd. Very bad state for both sides at the current moment. And can't blame either side for doing what they do to try and win.

You clearly don't, considering you rely on Exhaustion perks to win your chases
Yeah. Exhaustion perks way too op. I've actually never really heard that argument before. I can't remember the last time I played a game and the killer said. I MORI YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE BALANCED LANDING! Or ... I tunnel you because you use Lithe! I guess we're really getting down to the bare minimum if we're now under the impression that exhaustion perks are OP. Damn those Sprint Burst players!
So I always see you taking the killer side in arguments on here. Is your way of balancing the game to take perks away from survivors?

NOED isn't OP. It's in the game for a reason. Adrenaline is great even for survivors that aren't getting chased, the speed boost can get them halfway to the gates before the Killer even knows what hit them. And you know looping isn't the only way to evade the Killer, right? Hell, NOT getting found gives WAY more points in the Evader emblem than winning chases. And before you complain about missing out on chase BP, there's an easy way to get Boldness points that also happens to prevent a certain perk from coming into effect
Yeah. I don't play a game to crouch behind a tree. The game is all about chasing.

Pebble was obviously a joke
OoO is free aura reading on the Killer
Exhaustion perks let you escape the Killer for free every 40 seconds with the exception of Dead Hard
Adrenaline is literally an unavoidable free health state plus sprint
Exhaustion perks aren't OP. They're in the game for a reason. Without exhaustion perks the game probably wouldn't even be competitive. If killers can already win frequently... Imagine taking away the way survivors make distance on them.
Adrenaline is a waste of a perk slot most of the time. You talk about NOED being a waste. Adrenaline is even worse. The 3 people not being chased don't get anything for it.

Name one Killer perk that is both OP and uncounterable. I'll wait. In the meantime, here's a list of Survivor perks that are both OP and uncounterable
- Adrenawin
- DS(jump in a locker)
- Unbreakable(run with DS)
- Exhaustion perks(admittedly Dead Hard is unreliable at best these days)
- Object of Obsession
- The Pebble
The pebble? Object of Obsession? Exhaustion perks? Adrenaline? What the hell is op about those?
-
For a long time NOED was just considered a baby killer perk. People wouldn't use it often. It was for lower rank killers. When you got up to rank 1-10ish you never saw NOED. It was more of a 11-20 perk. Now it's becoming super meta. Being used a lot more frequently. Survivors haven't adapted to the new meta. It'll just take awhile for everyone to adjust their minset. But no ones ever going to say, GG! You really used that NOED well! Just not the type of response that it'll trigger when you're getting beat up on and get a few kills at the end.

It's not that it makes you bad for having it, but there's just so many better options. It also enables really, really bad plays alot of the time. Usually the only time I ever find myself needing to selfcare is when my teammates are all dead, in which case you should just be looking for the hatch instead of healing, or standing on a door. I always have iron-will so I don't mind staying injured sometimes.
Just a day ago I had a meg who tried to get me to heal her when the gen I was working on was like 85% done. There was ruin as well, and instead of helping me finish it she sits there selfcaring and boom, the killer comes over. The self-care didn't finish, the gen wasn't finished, she goes down anyways and then gets hooked on the gen and it gets regressed back to 0, resulting in a hatch game. It's those kinds of situations where I really hate the perk.
I don't love it either. I'm leveling up Nancy now to get Inner Strength. Because I feel like it'll go so well with Detective Hunch. So I won't be rocking it much longer. I just have never really put BP's into survivors. But at this point in the game. It could take months to see something in the Shrine.
-
Face camping isn't that great of a strategy. Normally even a group of solo survivors know how to handle this. One person goes in, fake the unhook. Killer hits them. Someone with BT preferably gets the unhook. All 4 scatter. GG. Nothing a killer can do.
-

It's not like survivor ranks mean much too. The fact all those red ranks had self-care is pretty telling of how boosted survivor ranks are these days. I still get tons of urban evading, gen-phobic, selfcaring potatoes in my red rank games. They make the games pretty much impossible to win when you finally hit a red rank killer, cause they are the kinda people getting sawed by billy in the first 15 seconds of a match and then not having DS so they get tunneled off at like 4 gens left.
I run self care and don't consider myself a potato teammate. But when you're playing alone there's situations where I feel like self-care is needed. If my teammates are on death hook and I haven't been hooked once. It's my turn to take the killer on the chase. So you self care up and go track him down and make him chase you. If you need to go in for a save at the end of the game, self-care so you can rush the hook. I don't really think that self care means you're bad. It's just harder sometimes in solo to get your teammates to heal you.

Mori, NOED, playing one of the stronger killers in the game. The mori'd guy got 4k points so was clearly tunneled off hook. And he is still complaining lol.
And if you were to call him out on his playstyle. He'd stutter over his words as he tried to defend his play. Eventually coming out with 'WELL NERF KEYS!"

Devotion 3 and 4 k's the opposing team. Complains about it. Killers really will complain about anything.

My thoughts exactly. BHVR has already announced that they are working on a new mm system. Months ago.
They had announced that back around the time of Self-Care nerfs about 2 years ago. So we might be looking at 2023 or so for a new matchmaking.

I don't understand Ghostface at all either. I sit there and stare right at him and get exposed. But I'm not complaining. I think I'd be smart to just watch at youtube video and figure out how he works. I wasn't playing when he was released. But somehow I had gotten the idea that you're supposed to look at him to prevent getting exposed. And I'm just sitting there with my camera right on him and still exposed. Haha character makes no sense to me.

Yep. I'm not trying to be a douche or anything like that with my post. It's just the facts. Years ago when I first joined this forum this was one of the things that I mentioned numerous times. It was already becoming a problem back then. Players were getting up to the thousands of hours and playing against people with 100 hours in the game. It's a major problem and only getting worse. And the fact that I check profiles when I play survivor and never see a killer with over 2,000 hours... There's going to a be a problem. Because rank 1 gameplay is now full of 3,000 hour survivors bullying a 400 hour killer who has to run NOED to try and get a kill. It's bad.

I think it'd still be too unfair to the killer, because now the survivors have a checklist of gens and totems. If it's such an issue for solo play, they can run Small Game or Detective's Hunch or bring a map to make quick work of totems without the need of comms.
I'm not going to argue if I think there should be a totem counter or not in this thread. I'm simply stating the facts. That people on here make post after post that solo survivors need to be buffed to SWF standards and then killers need to be buffed to deal with SWF. With what I read on these forums is what it sounds like the community wants.
I don't think a totem counter really matters either way. I don't really care if it's added into the game or not. But a totem counter is the first idea I've really seen on here on how to bring solo players to even grounds. And as soon as it's suggested, people want to shut it down. Why keep having these threads about buffing solo gameplay if a totem counter is too much of a buff? All I'm saying.
I personally put on Detective's Hunch a few days ago. I personally love running it. It's now apart of my staple build.
-
People on here constantly argue the fact that SWF is the problem with DBD. Let's be real now. That's been said a million times on these forums. And then you get these little posts. They ask stuff like, should the game be balanced around SWF or Solo? And every time these people agree that the game should be balanced around SWF. Because people think that they're the biggest problem with the game. People argue over and over again on these forums that solo is unfun and they're at a disadvantage.
Now we get this idea of a totem counter. SWF teams already communicate how many totems are broken through voice comms. Something that solo players can't do. And now people are like... Woah woah woah! Hold on there. A totem counter is a nerf!
It's simply a solo survivor buff. One that's not that major. And now everyone's like, SCREW YOU SOLO PLAYERS!
I mean come on now. Let's stop having these stupid conversations about buffing solo players. Obviously people don't feel that way. If something like this is too big of a deal.
-
I mean. What makes you so sure they're a SWF team? There's plenty of solo red ranks that probably would've been able to play well against you anyway. I'm just always curious why killers are so convinced that they're playing against SWF teams. Anyway.... Matchmaking is broken right now. Everyone knows that by now. It's not going to be fixed any time soon. I'd suggest it you can't handle the heat in the kitchen, switch over to survivor. Playing killer is going to be difficult. The amount of 3,000-5,000 hours survivors that this game has is high. The amount of 2,000 hour killers is low.
They need a new ranking system it's clear. A 300 hour killer is never going to have fun in this game playing against 3,000 hour survivors. That's why I no longer queue as killer. Game is actually busted as hell. And even if you were in the normal ranks... You'd just be facing people that are returning to the game or haven't played since rank reset. They'd still have a ton more hours then you and school you.
Nothing anyone can do about it. Until they figure out how to take 5000 hour survivors and put them against 5000 hour killers. The game will never be fair. Some of us have accepted it.
-
I really enjoy playing her. Didn't think she'd fit my playstyle at all. But she's pretty good. It's nice if you can actually set up. My only problem with her is when you're in a chase survivors tend to run around and pop all of her traps that are away from the chase. So by time you end up getting a hook you only have like 2-3 traps set out on the map. And have to work again on setting up some traps. I think she could certainly use a little bit of help. I don't really know what add ons to use on her either. So maybe there's something in there that will help.
But she makes some annoying parts of the game pretty fun. Strong loops and killer shack is pretty easy for her to trap up and ruin for a survivor to use.
I guess one way to slow the game down would to be trap up around a hooked survivor so they have to crotch walk to get a save. But the games tend to go fast when I play her. Very little to slow it down and create pressure. I guess against newer players that like to self heal against her can make her feel really strong. But she doesn't have the greatest chases so survivors tend to just stay injured and hope they don't trigger a trap during a chase.
-
I'm playing survivor and using the points to level up my killers. So I don't understand why you'd feel the need to play one side to farm the other. I play what I'm having fun with. Blood points are nice and all. But at some point you should be happy with where you are and willing to just play for fun and casually level up characters. I have 7 of 19 killers at P3. I'm continuing to slowly work on that. I've never wasted points into survivor. I play Claudette only since she's the only character I've ever leveled on survivor. And I don't care if I get 30k points a game or 15k points per game. If I continue to play it'll eventually get back to a million.
-
I doubt that it's actually 60% of games. But the other night I did get mori'd 5 games in a row. Or at least they brought it. Not sure if I actually died to all of them. I see about 5 mori's a night I'd say. Depends if I'm playing for an extended period of time or not. So say 15 games, 5 mori's. Still a pretty good amount of it going on out there.
-
Best way to get better is to face higher rank people. The ranking system doesn't really matter as much as you think. I've lost to lower rank killers then you. It happens sometimes. There's no reason a rank 10 can't at least make this type of lobby competitive.
-
Just ran into something like this as well. We faced a killer that picked the last guy up and wouldn't kill him. Just kept him on his shoulders the whole time. If he wiggled out or dribbled him he'd just hit him again and then pick him up and carry him more. And then at the end game screen it was 'Entitled Survivors!' Guess he was pretty salty.
-
I mean you could just take the perk off. Spine Chill when the game came out was considered a perk for newbies. I'd assume it still is. Is there actually 7 stealth killers in the game?
I don't know it seems like a weird perk to run. I'll keep from ever equipping it though. Don't want to get stuck in the same mindset as you!
-
I like Claudette cosmetics. I have the silver dress thingy. I have a white jacket and a pink jacket one. I think they all look really good. Not sure if she's really needing a lot of cosmetic work. I'd say she has some of the better looks in the game. There's a lot of survivors in a lot better shape. I had to play Jake last night for a game and his were pretty terrible.
-
If you're a brand new player. Killer is going to be the easiest to play. The problem with that is on PC I've heard it's 20 minute queues to find a match at rank 20. You will start by dominating almost every match. You'll have survivors slow vault through windows right into your arms and survivors that get into lockers right in front of you. Grab them out and hook them. You'll start to think you're a decent killer. Then you'll move up into the ranks where people are smurfing. People like to d rank. So you'll start facing good survivors hidden in the upper ranks. You'll start to realize... Killer is impossible to ever have fun with.
Survivor isn't going to be much better. I've been playing with a few guys that are learning how to play the game recently. And both sides are impossible to pick up. They don't even look where the killer is chasing them and end up doing a circle and running right back into the killer's weapon.
I guess I'd probably say learn killer. At least you can equip NOED and BBQ and Chili once you get it and farm some points and get pity kills.
-
Haha. I'd probably just suggest the obvious. Have thick skin and laugh it off. This game creates some of the craziest drama. I just try to enjoy it all. Had a killer mori me the other day and his steam profile had 15 pages of people flaming him. So he gets into the post game lobby and starts calling us 'widdle babies' and being the creepiest person ever. We just tried to say GG but he got even saltier when no one complained to him. It was certainly a feels weird moment. Some people seek attention.
And from the messages it sounds like you made a SWF team that wins every game lose a game. And it was that big of a deal that they had to send you some hate mail. Just laugh at them. I am! Funny guys.

With them removing most pallets on some maps i may actually go back to playing killer, whenever I play killer now I nervous cause I deal with very difficult people, which was why I don’t play killer cause it’s to much to handle with the dirty loops and toxicity.
From what the devs keep saying... No pallets got removed from maps. Well 1 map got reduced pallets. The rest of them have the same amount of pallets. But people have been posting on the forums about how they took pallets out of the map. But the devs keep saying that they didn't. It's confusing. I'm going to go with the devs on this. And assume pallets weren't touched!

Because stealth killers mainly rely on stealth and spine chill destroys that. Its pretty obvious
Doesn't Spine Chill just show you that the killer is looking in your direction? Unless they've changed it over the years. If the killers on the other side of the map it could just light up. So does it really tell you that it's a stealth killer? For all you really know is that the killer is chasing someone on the other side of the map and you can't see him.
-
I am super excited about the update as well! I think it's going to be a good first step. People have been complaining about dead zones being in the game. I'm not sure if it's as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. But certainly can't wait to try out the new patch. I'd love to jump back on killer and have fun with it again. But I can't tell if I'm just burnt out on killer or it's just weak and feels terrible to play.

you do know second chance perks we're not in the game to begin with?the problem is when there's too many second chance perks,4 survivors combining such strong second chance perks then it becomes a joke.
Oh I do know that they weren't in the game at first. Instead survivors had infinities. They could just run around the bus or the main buildings and never get caught. Yes I actually remember those days quite well.
But it's not like they developed these perks for no reason. They developed these perks because killers were camping and tunneling and not allowing the survivors to have a chance. So then they had to add perks into the game to give them a chance.
Killers brought on DS and BT. They couldn't let their game just be filled with people being camped to death and tunneled off the hook every game. No one would play it lol.
And not to be a dink or anything. But it's just something I've noticed in your posts a lot. After punctuation you're supposed to use the space button. I don't know if you don't speak fluent English or not. But it's really weird seeing people that don't practice that normal typing behavior. If you don't mind adapting.

How dare we complain about the fact that survivors have FIVE TIMES as many second chance perks as us.
You do realize that DBD is a 4 v 1 game. The survivors are supposed to have tools to escape the killer. If the game was just the killer moving faster and having abilities to kill them.... Then the game would've never lasted four years. Second chance perks are in the game to gave the other side tools to try and stay alive. DBD is pretty much a game of tag. If the killer moves faster then the survivors. Then why would playing tag be any fun with a killer? There'd never be a way to be victorious...

ok,name me one ridiculous thing killers ask for.
I mean. Whenever the NOED conversation comes up. They say Adrenaline is as powerful of a perk that allows you to 1 shot people. That's kinda a ridiculous argument to me at least.
Someone the other day said that if Dead Hard is in the game then NOED should be too. Because Dead Hard's a second chance perk. When it's not. It's an exhaustion perk and meant to give you a longer chase... Just like Lithe, BL, and Sprint Burst.
There's a post up right now suggesting that killers should have a % chance to spawn into the game with a mori.
Killer's some some stupid stuff too. No one's perfect.
-
Eventually there's going to be really nothing new to come up with for exhaustion perks. They've already really added one for each kind of playstyle. So I would assume they're going to start copying them eventually. So this is kinda a different version of Lithe that I think would be kinda cool. Don't have a name for it so you can be creative with that.
But it works like Dead Hard. If you hit 'E' or the secondary action button before fast vaulting a window the survivor reaches up and slams his fist against the top of the window. The window becomes trapped. If the killer follows you through the window it will fall down and trap the killer in the window. It can last a few seconds. If the killer avoids the window it stays trapped for like let's say 15 seconds.
Also. Windows would obviously need a new look to them. They would need glass panels otherwise it would look silly and stupid. But I think that'd be very easy to add in.
It's just a different version of Lithe pretty much. But might be a little stronger at some cases, but a lot weaker at others. Like if you're stuck on a window and need to create space when there's nothing else there. It probably won't help you. But if you use it on a map that has a big structure in the middle it'd be really strong. At least to create a good distance.

am I really biased when you see this forum filled with noed thread and survivors wanting killer nerfs and ridiculous buffs left and right, yeah i'm biased
Exactly what being biased is. There's plenty of posts around here that have killers complaining about some ridiculous things.

Wow. Imagine using a bot to downvote people's posts on a games forum.

A moris power depends on the survivors skill, 2 chases can be 5 gens in some cases. Its all about context.
No. Let's not pretend that this is the case. Killer's are supposed to catch survivors. We know what happens when someone had a mori. Person gets unhooked and tunneled by the killer and mori'd out of the game. A mori doesn't depend on a survivors skill at all. I don't see the point of crying over a mori. But I also don't see why you would randomly put it into a game.

Lol. Noed base kit. Hell no.

You're just dodging a bunch of solo players. Don't worry. Everyone on here tends to blame everything on SWF.
Solo players can't know how to use items, body block, and mess with the killer. It's got to be a SWF team!
I lose more when I play SWF then I do when I play solo. You're not even afraid of people being good with your strategy. You're just afraid of people who can socialize and have friends. Well enjoy dodging queues for 30 minutes everytime!
