"exploit" is this a joke topic?. you won if it was. body blocking is not an exploit, how is protecting your teammates an exploit? in fact there is an entire category wich is called protection and give you points for doing it... there are perks that encourage doing such thing as We are gonna live forever to get stacks of protection, Mettle of Man, etc. how is that an exploit?.
Just another example of how this game encourages cheating and exploits. Disgusting. 😒
Hey, I got an idea, maybe if the devs would stop encouraging exploitive strategies like "protecting teammates" or "kicking generators" we wouldn't be losing tens of thousands of players every day. 😖

- Borrowed Time: By far. Without it every killer would just tunnel the guy off the hook and win most games. I always run this perk without question. The very thought of not having it scares me.
- Dead Hard: Killer camping the exit? Dead Hard. Run into a corner on accident? Dead Hard. Need that little extra distance to get to a pallet? Dead Hard. In a dead zone? Dead Hard for a whiff to at least waste some time. It's good, it's reliable and it can save you when nothing else can and always ALWAYS does something at a minimum. I generally feel naked without Dead Hard(Yea... I know...)
- Sprint Burst: I could name a million situations where this is amazing. The reason I put Dead Hard above it however is because it's not easy to control. Ease of use is a strength. Sprint Burst is like Nurse while Dead Hard is like Spirit.
- Decisive Strike: If Borrowed Time is We'll Make It then Decisive Strike is Resurgence. It's not as good as Borrowed Time but it is an extra tool against tunneling. Think of it like the next line of defense.
- Adrenaline: While it always does something let's face it that something is not helpful half the time. The other half it is really nice to have because you are saving having to find someone to heal you at a crucial moment. And sometimes it is just ridiculous lol I heal and sprint burst for 5 seconds mid chase get rekt baby killer ridiculous.
- Unbreakable: Either does nothing or seriously punishes sluggers.
- Prove Thyself. Gen rush!!! LOLOLOL!
- Iron Will: Overrated. Very very good vs Spirit but that is 1 in like 25 killers. I don't like stealth. You should always be glued to gens unless the killer peels you off. I only put it here because there are of coarse situations where it's very powerful but overall not worth a perk slot.
- Detectives Hunch: Eradicate the Totem menace!!! 😈
- Windows of Opportunity(I like it. Personally.)

Oh I thought blessing took 16 seconds, still not that big of a difference and having to get 4 Totems up will still take A LOT of time
I tried Boons and I felt that yes they have the potential to be strong but I actually felt like they were nowhere near as overpowered as people were saying. I think they made the right changes overall. They shouldn't stack. Blessing Hexes is too much of a benefit and the range is excessive. If they still turn out to be too strong then make Hexes immune and limit the range to 20.

Devs stated this stream that they no longer stack
And I was replying to some one saying that 4 boon totems can still cover the majority of the map, which takes 16 seconds per totem. 16 x 4 = 64
It's 14 per Totem. But there are 5 Totems and one is probably Hexed so 14 x 4 = 48 + 24 = 72

As killer: Playing Nurse for the first time against a red rank SWF TTVs that all had flashlights, Head On and a bully mindset. After about 5 minutes I disconnected. I was really ######### mad.
As Survivor. A game where a Wraith kept tunneling me so hard that even as I kept hiding in corners and in basements he would run around ignoring all my team doing gens just to search for me. I managed to loop him on death hook for like a minute at the exit gate only to go down because he had NOED. His toxic behavior was actually rewarded by that stupid perk.

Basekit breaking was really slow in the early days. Brutal Strength increased breaking speed by 40 %.
Basically what they did then, they took off 20 % of BS, put it into the basekit and nerfed BS to 20 %, so it's still the same.
With the downside being BS went from being meta to completely useless.

hopefully something can be done like LOL banning certain killers or something so at least you can get variety i wouldnt mind waiting 10 minutes for a decent game instead of going against 2 spirits in a row or 3. really.

I just had to make this thread because reading through the forums gives me a headache sometimes.
I probably should not even be browsing this place right now since I am taking a break from DBD, but holy #########, I didn't think the "Us vs Them" mentality could get worse but it has.
I would just like to remind everyone here that you are not fighting in a war, you're playing a VIDEO GAME. You're playing something for fun. You can literally drop this at any time you want.
Survivor main this, Killer main that... It's getting to the point where no one is actually discussing or talking about anything and just parrot the same ######### over and over again. What's the point of a forum?
Flavour of the week seems to be about Dead Hard and Deathslinger. And instead of any actual discussion about how these two aspects of the game can be changed for the better. It's just a shitshow of people fighting. It's so ######### tiring, I legitimately wonder if BHVR should even listen to threads and suggestions in this forum because it's such an unproductive waste of time.
Not to say I'm not guilty of this myself... But I have gotten weary about it. I have some suggestions for the game which I think could make the game so much better. But I do run the risk of running into people who think my suggestions are rooted in me being "biased" as a "Survivor main" or a "Killer main".
Just... Who gives a ######### about that? I just want this game to be fun for both sides, I want to feel like the Killer is a threat in my survivor games, I want to feel like I have to work for my kills as Killer. How is that not an opinion someone can supposedly have without being a main of something?
I play this game casually, I don't want to feel the need to "git gud". If I make suggestions, it's with fun for both sides in mind. But right now the game is so ######### dull and stale that I just want to see something different.
Urgh... Sorry about the rant, but holy ######### this forum can feel like it's two echo chambers fighting each other. It's enough to drive someone nuts.
This isn't a both sides issue. Survivors are not the ones running around making giant complicated whine threads about how every killer is a terrible player that needs their hand held and having most of the survivors on the forum mass upvote it as if what was said is profound. How about instead of making threads like this you call out these killers(And sure, if you see a survivor doing it call them out too.)
@Artick said:
Most people around here act like this game is their day job and their life depends on having their side buffed and the other side nerfed. If someone dares suggest otherwise, it's perceived as a personal insult.

Nope. I like the Wraith nerf(Already preparing to be dogpiled for that opinion too.) But I have also supported nerfing Boons and even Dead Hard. Biased my ass.

It's ######### like this that's caused alot of people to stop playing, I've had a long run in this game I'm getting pretty close to hanging it up myself and not because of balance but because of all the unfulfilled promises they've made, it's turned into a grab as much cash as you can situation while they ignore the veteran players who got them to where they are. We've been telling the devs for years about secondary objectives, game modes, practice matches etc... And their response is. "we heard you and we're nerfing the Wraith" who was already a C tier killer to begin with I mean he's literally the dollar tree version of spirit, the devs couldn't be more out of touch with their community
"Dollar tree version of spirit"
Wow. Nice. That is the most accurate description ever. He's extremely cheap and anyone no matter how bad can play him. Spirit takes skill.
They buffed Nurse for a reason guys. You people are not getting it you can't have something be both easy and strong that is what we call overpowered.

I never understand this. The character isn't fun so he should get nerfed. Shouldn't he be made to be fun to against rather then just making him weaker? That logic is the same for freddy and that clearly turned out well.
It did... Freddy is a decent killer still. Still I would take old Freddy over new Wraith any day of the week.

I will face nothing but Pinheads, Plagues, Legions, Deathslingers and Spirits for the rest of my time playing DBD if it means I never have to vs a Wraith.
So no, I like Pinhead.

By forgettable, I mean perks that nobody uses and are not memorable in the slightest. They don't even need to be bad, just unused.
For my money, it's Deathbound. Not only is its effect not very strong and difficult to properly make use of, but it has several conditions that need to be met by survivors in order for the perk to even activate. And even when it activates, the survivor can just avoid becoming Oblivious by not immediately running away, which isn't hard especially considering Deathbound only activates if 32 metres or further from the killer and as such means the survivor will not be in immediate danger. And to add insult to injury, it only affects one survivor instead of both. And only one person can be affected by Deathbound at a time.
I think a good solution to fix Deathbound, and the Oblivious status effect in general, is to make the Oblivious status effect icon show up next to the survivor's HUD icon like how the Broken status effect does. This would mean it'd be easier to take advantage of Oblivious as killer, making it a bit more impactful and dangerous to have on you.
What the F is a "Deathbound"? 🤨
Just looked it up... That exists? 😄

For a while now, people have some that the matches go too fast with Gen rushing and so on, so i tried to think up a way to help change it while also providing a fair chance for both survivors and killers. The idea of this is to mostly slow down gen rushing, so it will effect gens most of all
-It begins now-
Each time two Gens are repaired (Adding up to twice in one match), a fracture of time in the Entity's realm will crack open (similar to Glyphs, but bigger). Only one Fracture for each side can show up at a time and can be interacted with at any time in the map. The auras of Fractures can be seen when the owners of said Fractures get into close range of them.
- When a Fracture is activated, the map turns dark and the Entity blocks gens or hooks. The effects of Time Fracture last for 60 seconds.
- Survivors and Killers have individual Fractures that only they can see. I.E. Killers can only see Killer Fractures and Survivors can only see Survivor Fracture
- Killer Fractures are Red and Survivor Fractures are Blue
- If a Survivor interacts with their Fracture, hooks are blocked by the Entity, denying the killer to hook captured Survivors, but Gen progression speed will be decreased tremendously, regardless of how many Survivors are working on the same Gen. Upon activation, It will summon the Entity to trap the killer, which they must struggle out of achieving skill checks.
- If a Killer interacts with their Fracture, Gens will be blocked by the Entity, denying Gen Progression. But Survivors have a stronger chance of escaping from a Killer's grasp if they are caught. Upon activation, It will summon the Entity to trap all the Survivors, which they must struggle out of achieving skill checks.
- Each time a Fracture is activated, a timer will start similar to the Endgame Collapse timer, giving you better knowledge of how long the effects will last. Depending on which Fracture has been activated, the timer will either be blue or red.
-End-
Thats what i thought of so far, i tried to keep it fair for both sides, please let me know what you think.
"f a Survivor interacts with their Fracture, hooks are blocked by the Entity, denying the killer to hook captured Survivors, but Gen progression speed will be decreased tremendously, regardless of how many Survivors are working on the same Gen."
"If a Killer interacts with their Fracture, Gens will be blocked by the Entity, denying Gen Progression. But Survivors have a stronger chance of escaping from a Killer's grasp if they are caught."
Oh wow, so killers can just slug with no downside and survivors get ummm screwed over no matter what they do. Amazing idea.
-
I have yet to see a hacker and I have no idea how to tell if someone is using stretched resolution or raised brightness.
-
Balanced.
-
- Would make Boons unusable.
- Has been suggested many times
- I guess? If you wanna make a perk suggestion make it less vague please. But yea, we want more boons assuming they do not end up being useless.
-
I love all the killers going "it goes both ways." These same people will go on to make a thread just like this except for killers tomorrow.

Me from my expirience (maybe It's just me, so don't take It to seriously) when I play as survivor, a killer has trashed talked me at the EGC very few times, whereas, from my POV as killer I've been trashed talked a lot (again, maybe It's just that my survivors are more salty), and doesn´t matter If I win or loose, If I win, I'm a baby killer despite the fact I won over them, I'm a *peeeeep tunneler and other things that I won't put because I'm not going to be censoring all. Oh and the NOED, maybe I didn't understand It, but I think that the only way to get rid of NOED is cleansing no?
I am talking about this forum not in the game. But as for the game goes, you can only be trash talked at the end game chat. Unless you mean Tea-bagging which isn't that big of a deal. Neither is being hit on the hook for that matter. Yes, they are both BM but they are not that big of a deal imo. I don't do either unless I am butthurt and when I see others doing it I just assume they are butthurt. I assume you mean as a killer you get trash talked in the end game chat more often and you are not wrong. There are 2 reasons for this:
- There are 4 survivors and 1 killer that means as a killer you have 4x the chance of encountering a trash talking survivor.
- Again, because there are 4 survivors and 1 killer the killer is afraid to trash talk due to the fact that he may potentially have to argue with 4 people. Which is easy when you win but not easy when you lose.
From my experience you see a trash talking killer one in every ~10 match's while you see trash talking survivors one in every ~3 match's. Would you say this is about your experience as well?
@NOED What I was saying is survivors are not rampantly crying for NOED nerfs and when they do they get shut down fast.

She doesn't need to be nerfed. I actually have allot of fun against Spirits. It's Wraith that is getting the well deserved nerf.

Toxic in my book is anything that's being done that doesn't benefit the gameplay in anyway. Things such as letting all the slugged survivors bleed out, flashlight spamming, teabagging, spamming over pallets/lockers or toxic end game chat.
Also I think I might know you, if we've played on Overwatch before cause you have the same gamertag but if not then ignore me 😂
This. I would add face camping to that list too(Not proxy camping. Face camping.)

Sorry, but I didn't understand could you explain It please
Read this forum. Show me one thread complaining about NOED and see how far back it was. And find me even just one thread where a survivor is complaining about getting downed to begin with. Even when you do find that NOED thread from last year observe how literally every single response is "do bones"
Now read the forum and observe that half of all threads are killers complaining about survivors. Then tell me again with a straight face that survivors are all crybabies.

Yes, but (maybe I'm wrong, I don't have 8000hours or anything) Genrush, If you separate the word It means Rushing gens, that could also include:
- Not purifying totems , and that could mean eating a noed, so at the end idk why It would be the killer's fault instead of the survivor's for not cleansing It.
- Not healing and cry because you got down to quick
Survivors are told to shut up when they do these things. Killers are coddled for failing to pressure gens.

For survivor play, I'd just like to see things be more suspenseful. Right now I worry about very little when I play survivor. I'd like to see more risk/reward situations.
Maybe suffer from being exposed while saboing a hook or using a flashlight. I do it right, I get a benefit. I screw it up? I go down.
I would love for there to be some sort of risk/reward with vaulting pallets. Either through a perk or just general play. I'd like there to be a chance that when I vault a pallet for it to break and for me to suffer a wound level or something. Back when I played Friday the 13th one of the tensest moments was jumping through a window and wondering just how injured but it I was going to be.
That's why survivor is unfun for me to play, there's just no tension. No suspense. The killer has a giant red flashlight on his chest, so I always know when he's coming. I can screw up a vault and still be fine because I can immediately vault again. Missing skill checks isn't a big deal when I do miss them.
These suggestions are all awful. You really want your hand held as a killer don't you? You sound like you play killer 99% of the time and every once in a great while you play an urban evading Meg to "have fun." No, no and NO.

I think it should be much harder to escape than it currently is. When my team is escaping with 1-3 hooks between us regularly, there’s a problem. To answer your question though, the game should definitely be balanced more towards a 4K than a 4 escape.
Now, it shouldn’t be ridiculously oppressive for survivors, but there’s way too many second chances in the current state.
So it shouldn't be balanced at all then? I rarely ever complain on these forums. When I argue with people this right here is what I am arguing against. No, I will not play a game where the killer stomps every game because "it's the power fantasy role!!!"

So thats your answer for killers who struggle? Play the current meta.
Yes. I am not saying we can't buff them. Some killers are weak and hard to play but Nurse should not be the standard. Honestly, the fact that survivors are all the same and killers are different gives us a great balance opportunity to have some killers be weak and easy for noobs and others to be strong and hard for the high level that way the game can be enjoyed at all levels of play. No 2 killers will ever have the same skill and it would be unfair if the ones that are harder are no stronger then the ones that are easy.

Any more than 2k is over performing and the killer gets a cd.
Yet anything below 2k usually doesnt get buffed for a few years
Why should it? play Nurse or Blight if you wanna be strong. You can't choose a subpar killer and then complain about survivors. I swear, killers think the best killers should be over powered and the worst should be balanced lol... Not how that works.

No, people hate the stretched res Nurse and Blight players too.
There's just fewer of them, that's all.
Can killers actually benefit from stretched res too?
-
Solo survivor is downright masochistic. I refuse to play solo survivor at this point I just SWF(Gonna get so much hate for saying this. 😆) and play Killer. Whenever I play Killer all I see is an ocean of disconnects, jerks leaving their teammates to die on hook, Megs self caring in corners and urban evading around and everyone being super skittish and refusing to do gens. It's actually worse then I remember. And I remember it being really bad... Sure, you never really get bullied I guess but it grinds you down far more I would argue. I kept quitting the game over and over again and only coming back because I wanted to play killer but kept telling myself "maybe survivor will be different this time?" Nope. I just get grinded down over and over again until I finally quit being shy and joined a discord group.
And no, I don't SWF because "I wanna be a try hard and have my hand held" I SWF because I don't want to deal with the above. If you think those things are fair you have no right to be talking about how the other side wants it easy. A disconnect for you is fun because it means you get to stomp the opposition. A disconnect for the survivors is soul crushing, feels hopeless and is entirely out of your control. When you get bullied as a killer you feel like maybe you can get better, but when a survivor DCs you just spend the next 10 minutes wasting your time pretending like you can actually do something when you know very well you can't do anything at all.
-
Sort of? I just got my Feng to Prestige 3 and I still need to get her perks back. And by perks back I mean every damn survivor perk there is... 😫
But once I get that done I will grind her out assuming the perks are not horribly nerfed into the ground. If that happens I am just gonna level up Pig instead.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2538438#Comment_2538438
It's always endearing when people quote fallacies without actually knowing what they mean.
An AFA fallacy only works if the authority being referred to has no commonly agreed upon expertise, or as a red herring. Of course, 'x expert sources say different' is a cogent response to a claim.
Otherwise, any linking or reference to any source would be 'an argument from authority'.
'I believe that elephants only live 20 years'.
'Well, here are several sources stating that the median age of an elephant is much longer'
'ARGUMENT FROM AUTHORITY'
Here, the appeal to a fallacy is, itself, fallacious. Because if we follow that line of logic, there is no such thing as an expert opinion on anything.
There's actually a name for this specific fallacy, but it escapes me now.
Great, that doesn't mean they are right. I still stand by my point. I love that your opinion is less valid unless you are a streamer. Oh sorry, a killer streamer. Survivor streamers don't get to have opinions.

Are you certain that this isn't just a personal dislike?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2538397#Comment_2538397
Oh yeah, I run into this groups sometimes. It's astounding how BM survivors can be if you don't just let all 4 get away.
That is an appeal to majority fallacy. I now main Wraith instead of Spirit because although he may not be the strongest he is still very strong and he is the easiest killer in the game.
