Yes. If you ######### on hook, that's about as bad as DC-ing.
Except when you got those overeager hookrushing squad of farmers. Than... do as you wish
-
Oh, and it's spelled "ridiculously". You youngsters should read more books!
-
Plan ahead when you're doing gens.
-
@sergantuss and all the others trying to derank: really people? That makes you happy? Playing against people less skilled than you and get your easy victory? So cheap.
-
Yeah so often there's a race between three survivors to get to the one who's hooked. So silly.
And @TheHourMan : the goal of the game as survivor is to get out alive. Devs use a lot of mechanics to make it more exciting and diverse than just holding M1, but in the end of the day, if you got out, you played well. If you haven't, you didn't. You're just too obsessed with BP/pips. -
And yet, DC-s should be punished as harshly as possible. A bad connection is no excuse, if it happens to you often, just don't play until it's fixed. Although if it's some console bug, that should be taken into consideration.thesuicidefox said:The game crashes on console all the time, don't forget that. Not every DC is a quit.

Guys, you don't need to speak German, just look at the percentages. The math is incorrect there. Except there's an unknown variable listed for unsafe rescues (something you shouldn't do, ever @Ploni !) Maybe the new emblem system punishes it more harshly, but player should be able to see the actual number there.
-
Like said above: killers get much more BP, plus, they don't die. And yeah, survivors don't really have items/addons that match the most powerful killer addons, except for instaheal perhaps.
A much bigger issue I think is the addon dependency of certain weaker killers. I want Redhead's Pinky to be a common addon
-
@RSB even though I bashed you a lot for what I believe to be unfounded criticism of the Spirit, I agree on the sound issue. Definitely should be more discreet.

PS4. Hahaha.Every time I do it, I think "How the hell am I supposed to scare survivors when they see me embarrassing myself like this!?". Usually, I pause for a second or two, consider my options (like running off so they think I'm slugging) but end up slowly climbing back through to pick up the survivor... who is no doubt a little brat, laughing their arse off at me.
Lol that cracked me up. I share your feelings man. Looks like between our BP, our kill numbers and our pips, it's still our vanity that matters the most.

I don't get it: I've been playing a lot with Spirit, and I've been blinded maybe two times total, while managed to do flashlight evasion 10+ times. Not sure what bug you're referring to.
And, at any rate, lobby dodging is so undignified, same as purposefully deranking so you can play against less skilled players. Lame. The bug is that the Spirit is more susceptible to flashlights, from the Killer's PoV, although she is immune to the blind effect itself. In other words, while the player will quickly experience a white screen, the character herself will never be blinded.
Oh that's why I never dropped a surv even though my screen turned white. I think... I can live with it, though it definitely doesn't seem intended.
Though my guess is, it will be fixed relatively quick. Survivors being unable to flashlight save looks like a major issue. -

Different buttons for climbing through windows and picking up bodies would also be nice. It's f*cking humiliating when you mess up.
Still happens to me all the time. Funny, that. But easy to prevent too.

@Wolf74 there is a spelling mistake in your original post. Please leave these forums and never return.

They wanted to give a reason to use Bloodhound perk, but an alternative as well if you'd rather use a cheap addon instead of a perk slot. It's all good.
And the addon that retains your TR while cloaked? That's the best thing, had a full squad of SWF-s fooled with it on The Game. Now you can use Distressing, Coulrophobia and plenty other useful TR based perks with Mr. Bing Bong. I guess the surprise factor will soon wear off, but until then, it's a lot of fun seeing survivors hiding and LOOKING for the killer, not expecting him to be bloody invisible Wraith.
He still is and will continue to be one of the weaker killers, but the same goes for him as for other low tier killers: you gotta decide if you're playing for fun and you're satisfied with an average 1.5-2 kills, or you're the kind who can't get over not getting 4K every game. Up to you, I suggest playing for fun. -
Geez, it's a single offering. Get more from the Bloodweb.
If your whole progress is lost that's a different thing and from what I hear they actually care about this ("refunded" millions of BP-s to some players to whom this happened), but come on, one Bloody Party Streamers is such a trifle. -
I wanna be a generator. Sure you get kicked once in a while, but other than that, it's an easy job.

Also: if minor bugs annoy you so much that you think you can ruin FOUR other people's fun (because that's what you do by DC-ing), just go play Plants vs Zombies. -
Oh I believe that's actually griefing and it is reportable, and, if repeated, punishable by soft ban at least. If you're really up in arms against such behaviour, you should record all your games, and keep the footage of the problematic ones. Since the reporting system can be used in bad faith too, for more serious issues (that is, cheating, griefing, RL threats or extreme insults) you can only expect real results if you have proof. In fact, if you take the effort to do that, you do a lot of good for the game. I doubt we can ever get rid of all the bad eggs, but making some of them face some consequences will be good for dbd. And for their characterserabeth90 said:@George_Soros said:

Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware how humiliating it can be when someone adds insult to injury, but some people are like that and they're not likely to change.
Your name suggests you're a gal, and generally girls take it even harder, but just think about it this way: the guy who insults you after game is probably some unsuccessful, miserable, Mom's basement type of loser, more likely to be pitied than hated by others in RL. And please don't expect much from reporting, save for the most obnoxious ones or RL threats and the like. The right action is not to look for protection, just to get tougher.Everyone else seems to be saying that reporting works, but I have mostly not been using this feature. Especially not after I read that we are not supposed to report people who dc because that's an automated process to target those people. The only time I've sent a report on someone for something other than a dc was actually when I was a killer and a survivor was directing hatred, racial and other slurs, and telling another survivor to go kill themselves IRL because they dared to leave the game instead of unhook them.
You're right, though, to some extent. I need to just grow thicker skin and either not participate in chat or ignore all the vitriol. My boyfriend told me much the same when I complained to him that people were being mean to me in a video game lol XD. It just makes me so upset, though, because I know that I always treat people online in a friendly manner and with respect, or I don't engage at all. Like, a killer tunnels me the whole game, causing me to depip, while the rest of the team does generators and escapes? I'm super p***ed and I'm thinking he's a baddie for needing to tunnel me just to get 1 kill. But I don't say this; I simply leave the game after dying.
And yet it's not so much the words I had an issue with as getting harassed and farmed in game by two fellow survivors that were creating loud noise notifications and body blocking me when the killer came. One of them even managed to hook farm me as he instantly got me off the hook in front of the killer even though I had planned to not press space bar when it wanted me to struggle.

Take it easy and have fun -

I desperately hope there's gonna be a little less farming though. One of the best things this new chapter introduced is the safe unhook mechanic.
@redsopine1 Not trying to be annoying here or anything, but as others suggested, please please us punctuation. Would improve your posts a lot. -
There's nothing wrong with tunneling from a killer's perspective (well, except for BBQ). One survivor out of the game early means one less pair of hands working on gens. That's a good thing, right? Some survivors practically ask for it (the skilled loopers). If you don't like it, I suggest you start the game stealthy and let killer chase someone else first (that's what I usually do at least), or after you're caught for the first time, again: hide after being unhooked.
Also, you may want to use Bond. It's a great tool to lead the killer to your mates, with some luck you can make killer turn his attention to them instead of you.
I'm not saying I don't hate it when it happens to me (I'm horribly bad at looping), but it's a valid killer tactic. One final thing to try, though it rarely works: when you've been hooked twice and killer's still after you, try to crouch in front of him, and do the slow look up-look down head motion. It very much looks like kowtowing - as a killer, I always interpreted this as begging for one's life. Who knows, maybe they'll find it in their heart and spare you.
-
Just buy Leatherface. Doesn't cost much, and he's such a handsome lad!
-
Whatever you do, just don't DC and don't suicide on hook. You'll just screw your team that way.
as > @HarryToeknuckles said:It happens often.Just keep them there for as long as possible and hope the next game's better.
Exactly that.
-
Mathieu holding a gun to your head to make you buy it? Play other killers.
-
Exactly, but even better, just hide. Let other survivors open the gates. If you feel it's broken/OP, just adjust your endgame gamestyle.Spiritbx said:It's a counter to pro-surv obsession perks and a buff to anti-obsession killer perks.
So what if you get moried? they could just hook and camp you anyways since the doors are open.
It's technically a terrible perk since SWF with OP voice chat can relay the killer position every time a gen is done to the whole team.
If you don't want to be moried by the perk, don't run obsession perks and then you will have a less than 1 in 4 chance of being moried.
-
Oh and yes, as survivor I had an easy time finding Ruin simply by seeing where killer goes first.
So yeah, OP offers a good advice here. -
I kinda feel the best tactic is to ignore your totems. Once they realize you're guarding it so jealously, they will get on the generators anyway.
If I hook someone right next to my Ruin, I tend to camp... I mean, PATROL them, but otherwise, sooner or later the totem has to go anyway. -

I got a thing for tall, strong Russian women. I probably wouldn't even run if Anna chased me, just threw myself at her, shouting "Ravage meeeeeee"
Most likeable survivor is Country Girl of course. I thought that was obvious. -
I think if you're REALLY quick minded, Diversion may serve this function. So far I screwed up every time when I used it, but maybe smart people can put it to good use. But I'm completely behind anything that makes the game more about stealth and less about looping. I love BBQ as a killer but I admit aura reading abilities, as well as loud and flashy audio and visual clues are much dumber than actually looking for small movements of tall grass, listening carefully to soft footsteps or breathing.
Most likely though, looping has become part of this game so much that many players would just leave. If the mechanics changed in a way that makes it much harder for killer to find you, but much easier to down you... well, that would be an entirely different game. -
Sorry @DaedraLord , I think you're absolutely wrong there. HIDE, when exit gates are powered. Killer has very limited tools to find a specific survivor. There's Bitter Murmur of course, but unless you're very unlucky, you'll have an easy time hiding if you just stay away from exit gates. That's why I find Rancor the weakest of the three new killer perks.
-
I like your approachNo quarter asked, none given.
-
Sheesh @Brady ... Seriously, who the hell cares about the ethnicity of survivors? They gotta be interesting characters I guess but this diversity garbage is just driving me nuts. Make them all blond Swedes or smoking hot Somalian women, I could care less. Backstory to either of them can make the game a bit more attractive, but it's such a trivial "problem", not even worth mentioning.
-
I think they just don't like making a perk completely useless for any killer, and Bloodhound was pretty much useless for him, due to the inbuilt effect. I was very confused too when trying the new Wraith out because of this - wish there was some middle ground, not sure there is any though. It doesn't seem likely that anything is going to change after a complete rework, except if there are major bugs with it.

@George_Soros LOL No, I get that. Now I want an old man survivor who can't tea bag but can shake his cane at the killer.
Lol yeah exactly. I think we need more diversity. Aside from survivors aged 80+, I always wanted an extremely obese one - perhaps one with a scooter? And one with Down syndrome.
-
Lol @ZombieGenesis , I guess it has to do with me just being too old for games. I really just wanna be left alone to do my generators and get out. Nothing of that being chased s@@t , it always ends bad for me anyways.
-
Use Empathy, the best perk for selfish players in the game. Game starts? Hide! Someone gets hit close to you? Hide! Someone gets hit/hooked in the distance? That's the time to start doing gens. It's okay, other survivors will go for the save, you just make sure you only work on a gen that's away from the killer.
-
Happened to meme too in PTB. Looks like this really needs fixing.
-
Ruin does buy you some time though. I usually get at least one hook before generators start popping. That itself can make it worth. You just have to protect it.
And @ZombieGenesis , I completely disagree with doing gens being a boring task. You have to be constantly alert: is someone hit? Do I hear a heartbeat? That hooked guy over there, should I go for the save or keep repairing? I say it's far from "doing nothing". -
It's not "survivors" though. It's "SOME SURVIVORS". An important distinction. Whenever I play as survivor, it happens to me less than half the time. Ragequitting is a much bigger issue.
-
Nah, I just spend it all on Freddy. Is that wrong?
-
If your precious totem is next to a hooked survivor, it's actually ok to camp the area as you practically got two points of interest there, both more important than any single generator. You will be called a camper often for that, but that's just the way it is.

I'd just have the game automatically install a virus on the PC of anyone who DC-s. Say, one that spams their hard drive full of adult content. The messy kind.
