Bhvr learned long ago to never give a specified date. If for some reason they can't meet the deadline the forums blow up with "you promised a fix today. Where is it!!!!!!".

A good nurse. Good not God. A good nurse keeps me alert yet still gives me the sense I can try to escape. A God nurse just makes me want to Gen rush.

If you want faster que times you can play killer :p

And this is inherently the problem. Survivors shouldn’t be forced to run perks to avoid an outcome that can be fixed by better game design.
The problem is 2 fold. Killers shouldn't have to stack Gen slow down perks to stand a chance either. Hooking 1 person by the time 3 gens pop is not balanced. There needs to be reasons to spread out the dmg. Since coh was introduced there is no reason to hit someone and not commit to hooking them.
And I know someone is saying "play a killer whose power helps in a chase". That is literally as if a killer said "if you don't want to be tunneled bring ds". Perks or characters don't fix bad game design.

If you deliberately came to me, it's not tunneling :p

Well IMO if BHVR were to listen to the community they should only listen to about 5% of the people on these forums. Most of the player basis doesn't care about actual balance. They just want to win. Every time they lose they don't even consider they got out played, they scream "OP PLZ NERF!".

If a golden age were to occur, I won't complain. However, I don't expect it to ever happen.

Survivors pay the bills.
Buying cosmetics isn't paying bills. It's throwing away money. If anything I'd say that's what's hurting the game. I'd rather they take that budget for hiring an art department and use that money to hire better programmers.

exactly- it's not even doing that bad now compared to previous years. like yeah there's been a large player falloff on steam but that's still higher now than a year ago + playercounts always drop off this time of year because exams come up. when i say "it's bounced back from worse" i mean it isn't even that bad rn
Well keep in mind the game is damn near free on consoles. While the player base may be high that alone does not mean it's in a healthy state. Like a joke from the late Robin Williams "too big to fail? That's like saying to fat to die!".
I don't think the game is in a good state. In fact I think it's horrible right now but we all know it won't die anytime soon. There's no real competition.

When a survivor breaks a chain on an object, another chain instantly respawns to shoot again. Many people seem to think this is a function of the Impaling Wire add-on, but no, that add-on just makes 2 chains respawn when one chain breaks. The only problem is that the chains are so slow and bad at tracking that they rarely hit, so people don't notice them.
Aim at a survivor's feet instead of their body if you're worried about missing a chain. For some reason, this increases the hitbox. Not sure why.
If you're approaching a chained survivor and you're guaranteed a hit, try to break some chains with your body before you hit them. This causes them to respawn and fire again as you hit them, which if you're lucky can slow their on-hit burst to essentially just running speed. However, this is unlikely.
Try to place your Gateway kind of in the open when chaining someone in a loop, rather than right next to them. If you chain next to them, then the chains will often all snap at once when the survivor rounds a corner or gets too close to a wall - hence why you shouldn't chain someone who's about to turn a corner from right behind them. If you chain them ahead of where they're going, then the chains are much more likely to "stick".
Franklin's Demise and Hoarder are both heavily overrated on Pinhead. Franklin's hurts you because you want to get the box when you down the guy carrying it - if you hit them, and they drop the box, then you can either continue chasing and ignore the box or pick it up and lose the chase. Hoarder is a training wheels perk first and foremost, to help you learn box spawns, but when you get good at predicting box spawns it's largely unnecessary. It's better to run slowdowns or BBQ.
About box spawns. Has anyone ever made an overhead map and marked every spot a box can spawn? That would be really helpful.

No, it just needs a cool down after snuff
I dont think a cd is enough. If one survivors CoH is on CD the other 3 can still use theirs. I think it should be a 1 time use thing. Like an actual hex perk without undying. Once its cleansed you cant bless it again.
-
I just havent been having fun playing as killer. BHVR hasn't a clue what they are doing and after having the game for 4 years its fairly obvious they favor survivors.
As of right now, evil genius 2 got a new dlc and warhammer 3 just came out. So Ill stick to "playing something else".

I feel like they could’ve stomped me if they just weren’t way to worried about immediately unhooking
Sadly that's how the game is against decent survivors. BHVR balances the game to only work if they aren't playing optimally.

It was more of the constant dive bombing the hook. Other than that fulls meta load outs against a doc is pretty useless
It sounds like the game isnt balanced. Rather the survivors you were matched with were noobs. Load outs dont equate skill. Keep playing and soon you will go on another 1/2 a year break. The game is in a terrible state right now.

@Tsulan said:
Just turn them into high risk, high reward perks. If the killer finds them, its gone for good.
I dont know why they arent high risk. From my understanding they are suppose to be a survivors version of a hex perk but there is zero risk for them.
-
They are adapting. Does this mean we can finally stop with the NOED OP threads? :P
-
Maps are usually terribly balanced. Rpd being the prime example. I'd rather get balance updates than a new map that will be disabled shortly after its release.
-
I agree that dbd is not esport but it is a competitive game. 2 sides with opposing objectives. That is the literal definition of competitive. Just because it's not esports doesn't mean it's casual. I will play to win but "my" objective above all else is to have fun. If I lose but it was a good match, I'm happy with that. However there are unfortunately a lot of gamers who feel the only way they can have fun is if they're winning.
-
Im sure those people who say they only lost to stretch rez will find something else to explain how they got outplayed.
-
Im waiting for the forums to blow up with requests to put stretched rez back. Literally anyone who plays this game for a decent amount of time could tell you that gives an unfair advantage. Yet there were lots of people saying "its not a big deal". The only people who defended it knew it was an exploit.
-
Most of the toxic killers are now playing survivor. They were probably your teammates.

BT should be base kit because camping/ tunneling killers have too much power if survivors don't bring the right perks to deal with it. What happens too much in solo q. Did you ever play a custom match asking for the survivors for no BT/ no DS? It's a massacre.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2792973#Comment_2792973
You must not have that many hours in both sides then...
Camping killers ONLY get kills if the survivors allow it. And No I dont care if it's unfun for the one person on the hook. It's not fun for the killer either and just because something is unfun doesnt mean it needs to be changed. If that were true killer would need an entire overhaul because it hasnt been fun for me in years.
If you want killers to stop tunneling then they need reason to spread out the dmg. /looks at CoH
As for BT being basekit I'm mixed. I don't think it should be basekit because survivors are the power role. The perk is amazing so you should be required to sacrifice a slot to run it. As for my gameplay, whenever someone is unhooked right in front of me I automatically assume they have BT+DS. So I try to trade with the one who made the rescue.

Yeah I get what you meant but it comes down to quantity over quality. I am a survivor main and I really only play killer when I get sick of waiting or now just to get rank 1 Iri for the BP, but I would still rather wait than endure back to back frustration of playing killer.
Don't get me wrong it isn't all bad as in all honesty most survivors are not that good. But some days killer is just hell and I regret even trying
If this was an MMO. Survivor is a dps class. You sit in que forever because theres a ton of you. Then you get bored and switch to a tank or healer class(killer) just so you can play. Then after one match you remember why you choose a dps class.

On this forum people debate about the right to DC and ruin 4 other peoples fun. Just about anything can be turned into a senseless debate here -.-

LOL sure ok man, so it's ok to "cheat". Oh seriously? I'm not forced to stream, good to know that I have such freedom (sarcasm)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2777301#Comment_2777301
Yeah, but people who are watching your stream like to see the perks and how your build is working to try it out, suggest new ideas, etc, makes more interaction
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2777272#Comment_2777272
Yes, that is the smart thing to do, but not everyone is into learning all the possible killer's perks, Not everyone is well versed in the matter of killer perks/builds, it takes time to learn how to figure out. If you don´t play killer you'll take even longer to learn about possible perks. So there is a lot of people, like our "friend" there, who consider peeking on a stream because saw a window of opportunity to take advantage and help their team. Because you know, is better to "cheat" than learn about the game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2777258#Comment_2777258
I know survivors can create the game hostage situation by hiding themselves and not repairing gens, but even playing as both survivor or killer, never saw a killer creating a game hostage situation. If survivors are not being chased they are repairing gens. If they are not on the hook they are repairing gens. Could clarify how a killer could create a game hostage situation? I think they can do that through body blocking you in a corner for the whole match but never saw it happen for too long, not very useful IMO.
If you dont broadcast what your doing over twitch they cant stream snipe you. Its all im saying. If you stop painting your social security number on the side of trucks your identity might not get stolen.

Nicely said! Im the same way, i'll ignore the cheaters until i either catch them which usually means they are bad at cheating or just let them be until the end where i can hopefully catch them.
"Ignoring" survivors is actually a legit strat.
I'll ignore Boil Over users that pick certain maps and go to the high buildings (I know about this start already and ready to counter it) and leave them for the end, cheaters (until or hopefully i catch them) and Sprint Burst users (Make them waste they're Sprint Burst and I'll get them when they're exhausted or outpositioned)
This was like 3 years ago but I caught a cheater with infinite sprint burst. It was pretty damn funny. All 3 survivors already left or were dead. He kept bullying me. I was trapper. Eventually he stepped in a trap I set at the beginning of the match that no one stepped in. When I put him on the hook I did the slow, intimidating 180 degree turn so he saw my face when he was being sacrificed.

Without video evidence it feels pointless trying to report them. I have seen instaheals, two DH in one game, chases that never end because they have speed boost. In these cases it's even harder because I don't record whole matches.
I feel apathetic about it.
Even with video evidence I doubt they are punished.

You don't HAVE to stream. That is something you are doing. It's not the other teams fault if your posting on the internet information that can be used against you.

Considering how the devs have been letting the hackers run rampant they most likely won't do anything to either of you.

You got a dc penalty because you DC'ed. The game can't distinguish if it was genuine or salty. All it can see is you quit a match.

Sometimes I really have a good laugh when I see stretched resolution. E.g. when I check the Stream of a Killer I went against and see that the Blight in their Lobby is wider than tall.
I mean, I am not someone who cares that much about graphics, there are good games with bad graphic, but making your game intentionally looking like #########... I dont really understand this.
I remember long ago when gears of war came out. People would put a circle of scotch tape over the dot in their crosshairs to improve their hip fire with one shot weapons. People go to some ridiculous lengths for an advantage.

Hiding in locker is not reportable. There is mechanic. If you don't move long time, you will have crows and killer will catch you. But you can not help killer, this is reportable.
@SuffragetteCity said:

Not really. You can report someone for being AFK, so if they jump in a locker then sit there until they get crows, sure.
But if someone is deliberately not playing and switching lockers to prevent crows wouldnt that be considered game throwing or griefing?
-
@Bwsted said:
Right or wrong is a moot point. The relevant point is that it's forbidden. You can be reported and banned for griefing and/or teaming.
Couldn't you also report the locker jockey for essentially not playing the game?
