But that’s a huge problem. Game mechanics shouldn’t be solved using perks. That’s called band aid fixing it’s just a crutch to excuse bad game design. I shouldn’t be forced to run a perk to solve problems in game. Same for killer side to.
This. BHVRs solution for a problem is "here's a perk. That'll shut them up" but when there's so many perks that feel required to play the game you don't have many options. As killer I feel 1 perk must be dedicated to gen slow down. Another perk should be tracking to help me find people. That leaves me only 2 perks to really experiment with. Half my load out is already decided for me. As for survivors they have 16 perks to play with. This is not a solo vs swf topic. Even if they aren't in a swf and don't have headsets they are still on the same side. They can work together.
But to be honest. As a killer 1 perk is reserved for gen regression so corrupt being basekit would actually help me. It would free up another perk slot for something else. As for BT being basekit. When I play killer I just assume all survivors are running BT+DS+DH. So it wouldn't really change my game play. It's still not a solution for poor game design.

At this point, I don't really care.
I'm kinda on the same page. The game is so messed up right now I've had no desire to play for the last 3 chapters.

Well this is why they would be a special selection. Hell they could hold a massive question sheet they would review.
I do think it's always be best to have someone who played both sides 50/50
Remember this isnt so they have the final say but to be in actual contact
I really think it would be nice if the game kept track of how many hours you put into survivor or killer. A lot of suggestions can be shot down by bias.

Not saying it's entirely down to this, but I do feel some conduct themselves when making a concern in a completely child-like manner, full of insults and abuse. If I were someone reading that feedback, I'd ignore all of those people. Also, things said by the devs are used completely out of context against them - the Civilization argument being a prime example.
A reassessment of how each side communicates with each other would be a good start. The devs do make errors, as does every single person on here in their lives, and likewise having someone call another out on that error and belittling them is just not intelligent.
Nothing wrong with people being critical (I certainly disagree with their idea of skill!), but do it in a way which doesn't come across like it's being spoken by a 5 year old.
That too is another problem. 95% of the people making suggestions are cry babies who just want their side to be stronger. It's really hard to filter between the children and the people putting forth actual ideas that could improve the game.
-
I wonder when I play VHS when it comes out. Will I look at dbd from an outside perspective and say "There's a lot of salt in that"
-
I don't choose my targets so to speak. I go after whoever is the best choice for my objective. If that person just happens to be a streamer it makes no difference to me.
On a personal level I don't like playing with streamers. The ones I get paired with are more concerned about putting on a show or triggering someone than actually playing the game. When they play survivor I find them to be the first ones to rage quit when they find out the killer isn't a newb who can be easily bullyed.

Yeah i agree with this.
I know people who have droven a car for more then 45 years. If my car breaks down i'm still going to see a mechanic rather then them.
I agree with op that lead designers and stuff aren't always right but i think they are overestimating a bit how right the 9000+ hour people would be.
The absolute best way would be ofcourse that they both work together with good communication but we can't even come to an agreement among ourself and the devs also don't see eye to eye with everything so i wouldn't get my hopes up
I agree that both should be communicating. To further on your example of a car being driven for 45 years. Yes the mechanic knows how it actually works but the owner is the one who is actually driving it. You can replace every part with something brand new but you will have no idea how it performs until you actually use it. The person who is driving said car day after day knows when something is out of place.
In BHVRs case I don't think they listen to their players at all. I get the impression the balance team assumes they know whats best. Despite several patches that absolutely broke the game and we warned them ahead of time what would happen. Yet they did it anyway.

I have tried my best to support their ideas but after that Q&A, I literally raised my eyebrow when they pretty much deflected by bringing up Alchemist Ring (Blight) in relation to the Toy Sword question.
Notice how they never explain, "This addon/perk was doing this and that and therefore..." It is always "This killer is over-performing at high MMR" Because I think if they did, it would show they understand and know their own game. It's always a vague answer no matter what. Like I would really like to know what about Toy Sword made it unbalanced? Is it because it is used more than often, because that isn't reason enough to nerf something, especially an add on IMO.
I lost faith in the devs since patch 1.9.2 That was the all time "######### were you thinking?" decision for me. Ever since I gave up on this game.
-
I dont think the devs themselves understand half the changes they make either.
-
Trust me. There are plenty of survivor players that bhvr can afford to lose half of them. Now if they lost half the remaining killer basis then you would be in trouble.
-
and people wonder why we don't want the DC penalty turned off.

It should be buffed to cleanse the sickness without a fountain 😏
Kidding of course. If the cost of less Plague is a CoH nerf then I'm all for it.
With how incompetent the balance team is. I could actually picture them doing this and taking 3 months to realize it was a terrible idea.

My vote would go to RPD or DDS every game without failure.
and badham. Literally every time I find a survivor they run to the damn school.
-
(I don't think banning perks is the way forward- sorry. Banning maps I could absolutely get behind
I would absolutely ban RPD.
-
I think it would be kind of funny. Imagine all the survivors that would suddenly suck if DH was turned off for a week?

@GoodBoyKaru said:
It could be possible she never actually saw a Demo, since he wasn't exactly common and then he was axed
True but if something happens that you dont understand you dont jump the gun and scream witch! I've seen some stuff I couldnt explain and when I posted a question on the forums people explained it to me and it made sense. I've had people accuse me of wall hacking as Nurse because they were healing in my TR and they didnt know what Nurse's Calling did.
I had a match as trapper a long time ago. It was one of billy's maps back when it was still night time. I almost always run whispers. There's 2 survivors left and 2 gens left to complete. Im near the killer shack and basement is in there. Whispers is going off. There's no gens around that area. Any hexs I brought were already gone. There is no reason for anyone to be there. I look around the shack, didn't see him. Whispers is still going off. I figure he must be looting the basement. I go in the shack and check the lockers upstairs. Whispers is still going off. I tell myself "If he was outside the shack hiding from me. He would have left by now. So he must still be here". I check the basement. First I walk around to check the corners. See no one. I check the lockers near the stairs and nothing. I check one locker in the corner and nothing. I check the final locker and there he is. In the end game chat he asked how I knew he was there. I explained everything and he said "Okay, that makes sense now". That's what your suppose to do. If you get caught it doesn't automatically mean the killer cheated. It may actually have been that you got outplayed.
-
Play something else.
Seriously. I've had the game for almost 5 years and BHVR clearly cares about certain customers more than the other. They won't balance anything unless the survivors can't find a match.
-
Id rather not. I dont think they would fit and if somehow we got the real ghostbusters in here. The creators of the awful 2016 ghostbusters will whine that they werent invited. Much like the ultimate box set coming out. The first 2 movies and afterlife were included and not the 2016 spin off. Then the director bitched that it wasnt in there and they added a digital download to shut him up.
-
If I was still playing id like to try this build. It's nice to actually use stealth instead of just holding W. If you loop the killer for 3 gens it just feels like your abusing pallets and unfair map layouts. If you actually juke or lose the killer it feels like you out smarted them. My only issue with lockers is if I pull off a disappearing act they usually check the lockers. If I somehow lose the killer 8/10 check the lockers and find me. That's just been my experience.
-

I don’t see why players don’t play both sides. It seems limiting.
I think deep down they have some idea that they will get their ass kicked. Between all the complaints on the forums or all the matches where survivors are running circles around the killer. They must know the killer experience sucks right now.
-
Honestly our opinions mean #@!$ to bhvr. They have reworked killers that were absolutely fine and turned them into garbage tier. On the other end they reworked killers that desperately needed it and all they did was tweak some numbers on add ons. We have a huge difference of the meaning of the word rework. There's no logic or reason to their decisions.
-
Let me know how it is over there.
-
Every time the DC penalty is turned off the amount of people quitting goes up. It happens every, single, time. The only people who are really upset about the DC penalty are the ones the DC penalty was made for in the first place.
-
@JacksonWise said:
The problem is people aren't having fun because of SBMM so the new content doesn't keep people playing for long. The numbers will only continue to decline until the core issues with the game are addressed.
This. If you ordered a steak and there's a cockroach on your plate. It doesn't matter how delicious that steak looks. Your not going to eat that.
No matter what bhvr does the game will continue to bleed players until they address the various issues. SBMM, hackers, game balance. Eventually new content will fail to bring those players back. It's already starting to happen. With the exception to pin head I ignored the last 4 chapters. What bothers me most is I feel bhvr is totally fine with this. I feel they have given up on dbd and are just milking the game till the end comes.
-
I'm going to give you some sound advice. If your not having fun with the current state of dbd, play something else. BHVR isn't going to put any real effort into fixing the game so long as people keep playing.
-
I've been feeling this way for 2 years now. I hardly ever get on. I might pop on once a new chapter releases and that's only if it's a killer I think will be fun. There are many chapters I flat out refuse to purchase because I don't want them. I sometimes get back on when friends want to swf but that hasn't happened since mmr was introduced. I haven't played since boons were introduced and from what I'm hearing I dodged a bullet. I'll stick to games that I find actually fun.
-
If the perk did the exact opposite, it sounds fun. If your TR got smaller outside a chase it sounds like a potential jump scare perk.
-
@GamerEzra said:
It's a shame but it's true. See it this way: Behaviour doesn't want to moderate their game, they rather let their entire playerbase suffer.
And they still don't understand why people are quitting DBD.😐️
Im sure bhvr is thinking "We'll release a new chapter in a few months and get back all those players"
-
I stopped playing before boons were introduced. Haven't had to deal with CoH yet :P

@GannTM said:
I’m both sides. I think DBD is crybaby sided considering anyone who cries like a baby on either side gets the unnecessary changes that unbalanced the game even more.
This. Even though I feel survivor gets more attention because there is usually more of them. The wheel that squeaks the most gets the oil.

The masks were removed due to people using them to specifically target streamers or people playing Claudette, Adam, and Tapp with the mask and only target them, they would ignore anyone who was white and target everyone else. And by target a Live Streamer actually was stream sniped and basically had her games ruined solely for the sake of ruining them due to her skin colour
But to anyone saying “its just a game” I suggest learning why people play games, some people play it as an escape from whatever is happening irl and would prefer to play something and relax, people used Bubba’s smartface mask to specifically target people
And another thing if you guys are complaining about a free cosmetic being removed and replaced with 6k iri shards then thats just sad
I can understand why a twitch streamer would be upset but removing the masks won't stop asshats from harassing them.
-
You did nothing wrong. The survivors were just butt hurt you didn't follow their imaginary rule book.
-
Devs, it took you this long to understand that swf breaks the game? I'm not coming back for this. I'll stick to Endwalker.

I like the friends I met playing the game.

I meant to say global cooldown sorry. So if you snuff 1 all get destroyed and go on cooldown for 60 seconds
That might work.

I’d rather boons just go on cooldown while snuffed
If we give CoH a 60 sec cd you know swfs will just rotate lighting the totem. Id rather boons have a 1 time use.

For me, it's the balance team.
-
I have no evidence to back this up for it is only my opinion but I suspect bhvr never listens to feedback. After all the horrible patches and decisions over the years. I'm convinced when they do something we just so happened to ask for it wasn't because of feedback. It was purely coincidence.
-
If Space Coconut were here he would probably object to this thread but he has probably migrated to vhs. As many others are probably going to when it releases.

Going off BHVR's reaction to the depip squad. They won't fix anything they'll just get mad at you for pointing out their broken system.

I dont think they every listened to us. They just did their own thing and sometimes it lined up with what we've been asking for.

It’s just sore losing. I once got called a Tunneler when I 12 hooked as Legion for instance.
I got called a tunneler for hooking someone on their 2nd hook. I leave and before I get far someone saves him. I don't know where anyone is so I run back to the hook. I see the unhooked and the rescuer working on a gen and the unhooked didn't bother to heal. So now I know they don't have DS and they are on dead hook so I go after them. Apparently there's some rule that states
"thou shall not hook survivor once unhooked until yee has hooked the other 3 at least once"
I mean your on dead hook, you choose to repair a gen instead of healing right in my face. Of course I'm going to go after you.
