Anytime killer gets a strong perk the survivors yell "unfun" and bhvr bends the knee.

I doubt that. I think a more likely outcome is forcing/bribing people to play killer in some way. Incentives, like they talked before, are likely. They'll just start offering big rewards for anyone willing to put up with it.
A different game but a similar problem. In overwatch they have a serious problem with few people playing tank or support. So they added flex que. You que up and get thrown into whatever was needed(90% of the time it was tank). For your sacrifice you were given a ticket that "supposedly" sped up your que times for dps when you used it. 2 issues arised with this system.
- People joined flex que and threw the match. They wanted it to end asap so they could get their ticket use it for faster que time as a dps. I have ZERO doubts that if this were introduced into dbd, people would throw killer matches in droves.
- The tickets were so easy to obtain that they virtually did nothing to que times. In overwatch there were plenty of times where i was sitting in que so long that the game refunded me my ticket. So what is the point of having this system?
Im not against bhvr adding more incentive to play killer. Personally i think they do that already with dailies. However i feel it wont address the real issue. Instead of forcing people to play a broken role they should instead try to fix it.

Current dh is reminding me of old dh. The one that coukd be used to abaorb 1 hit. Literally giving survivors 3 health states. This is giving me ptsd flashbacks of old MoM

@EvilJoshy Corrupt Intervention is good but you can't use any hex with it, as they won't last long. Also it's powerful, but that leaves only 3 perks to play with... and I try to squeeze in BBQ, PGTW, Thrilling Tremors and Make your choice.
Still thinking what have bigger impact PGTW or Dragon's Grip...
I bring devour for funs sake. Its the only hex i feel is actually strong and survivors cant complain about it because it requires a charge up before it does anything. Though i havent played since boons were introduced so hex perks are all probably garbage now.

Have you tried STBFL on him? It gives him such snowball potential in combination with his traps, it's amazing. I've had many games where I'm at 2 hooks with only 1 gen left and then manage to get them into my territory for the end game and they all die lol.
I use a variety of perks. Stbfl, whispers, bbq for bp, sloppy+nurses but stopped since boons, franklins, bamboozle, spirit fury+enduring, devour hope(personal favorite)
-
It sounded like a good idea but then they told us its based on escapes and kills. A blendette can hide all game and get hatch=rank up. I can do 3 gens, 4 heals, 2 rescues, various chases but i got face camped=no rank up. To me the old pip system was better.
Either way its pointless for playing killer. No matter your rating the mm will ignore it in favor of faster que times for survivors.
-
I too am a trapper main and i run corrupt intervention. Sometimes ill bring a 2nd slow down perk like pgtw but i dont bring 4 slow down perks. I need something to help me find survivors or help me during the chase.
-
5 mins? I could have sworn it was shorter. Ive had the same scenario happen to me and i thought it was only 1 min. I could be wrong. Either way i watched a short youtube vid while i waited.

Then turn voice chat off and let us solo q players delegate who will go forthe Lament Configuration.
Swf is how DVD should be played, it's not breaking the game. What's breaking the game is BHVR Not accommodating that with solo q
Swf is certainly not how the game was meant to be played. In fact it wasnt in the game at launch. It was added later. Voice chat gives way too much information. Depip squad proved this. Swf is destroying the game because bhvr only balances around the crazy notion that survivors dont work together.
Look at old OoO. Killers were begging bhvr to fix this perk. Bhvr looked at their precious data and said "its hardly used. The killers dont know what they are talking about". The devs failed to realize in a swf, 1 person equips the perk and they all benefit. It was common for 4 man swfs to virtually call out the killers location throughout the match.
Not to mention there are a lot of perks that serve zero function when you can talk to people. Its blatantly obvious swf is not the intended method to play the game. Why introduce perks such as kindred, empathy, bond if you could talk to eachother.
-
Nope. Ive had the game for 4 years? I get accused of wall hacking everytime i use bbq. Havent been banned yet.
Even actual cheaters with video evidence hardly get banned -.-
-
Because voice chat breaks the game. Just look at swf. Also if im not wearing a headset in a public match it means i dont want to talk or hear someones crying baby because they forgot to turn off their mic.

I don't mind the idea behind noed but I think the execution is bad.
I think it should last for a certain amount of time, not be totem based.
It used to be a duration thing. Once all gens were completed it lasted for X amount of time. They made it a hex perk so you could destroy it or prevent it from ever occurring.

Pulling people into the Dream World is MUCH more fun than placing useless pools of blood, though.
Besides, you didn't even need a chase power with him in order to be effective. He required a different playstyle, which many players were not willing to learn.
When freddy came out. I remember plenty of times where a survivor was on a gen, healing someone or opening an exit gate. By the time they fell asleep they had completed their task. I do not miss that.
As for the progress hindrance while asleep. I miss that but there were way to many ways for survivors to wake themselves up. Looking at old freddys dreamworld and pinheads chain hunt. I feel we need more mechanics like that. Ways to oppress all survivors instead of stacking slow down perks.
And as for survivors dont want to learn a different play style. Theres no stronger proof of that than nurse. They want pallet looping and hold w to dominate all killers -.-
-
Id rather BHVR just remove perk tiers. That would cut the grind by a metric ton.
-
The grind is bad. For someone who has been playing it for 4-5 years I hardly feel it because I got the perks as they trickled in. To someone brand new it's borderline EA's idea of progression with Battlefront 2. If I play killer and run BBQ all the time, while doing challenges and dailies. I can get a killer to 50 in like an afternoon of game play. If I'm after all the perks I want on said killer, it takes forever. There are so many garbage perks that exist just to force you to keep playing. Not to mention you need to get the same crappy perk 3 times just to stop it from popping up in the bloodweb again.
-
When I saw the title of this thread I was expecting something totally different. I was expecting to see "I run zero slow down perks and I always 4k". Which would have lead me to believe it was a bias survivor main faking a topic to stir up commotion. I'm glad this was a realistic topic despite that those survivors were douche bags. This is why I stopped caring about their fun and their opinions. No matter how you play they will always complain.

You do realise removing the stranger things dlc wasen't a choice right?
Netflix revoked the license.
Not being allowed to sell something by law or get sued into oblivion is a pretty good reason to not sell that thing
I didnt know a license was something you had to constantly renew. I was under the impression once you got permission and put demo in here, he was here to stay so long as people paid for him.
-
Your running kindred. Your being face camped by Bubba and your 3 team mates STILL arent doing gens.

I mean hawkins and demodog atleast had a good reason.
Not the devs fault the licence wasen't renewed cause netflix has video game plans of their own
I can agree with removing hawkins but I see no good reason to get rid of demo.

It erased a killer from the game.
Ancient Freddy wasen't strong but there were people that enjoyed him
erasing seems to be on the rise lately. Got rid of old Freddy, removed Hawkins and they took away Demo pupper for any who didn't buy him already.

It was not my question.
I simply ask to make this game fun for survivor. It can't be fun if most of my time in game I spend in lobby, right?
In your opening thread you said where are all the killers? Then further down in the thread you said killer is too frustrating. That's why your sitting in a lobby. The devs keep making the game fun for survivor. As a result all the killers are being driven away. The devs cant force more people to play killer. If you want your que times to improve then start making threads saying "Killer is too hard. Plz buff!"

I mean I'm trying to tell someone (in another post) that using DC rates as a reason to ban someone is a horrible idea.
He tried saying "people don't DC against me", and I brought fourth some of the stupid things people have DC'd around me because (such as being the first to be downed, after a short chase due to them being bad).
When ideas like this become mainstream, that's when I fear for killers in general.
I might have replied to that thread. I said Ive had people DC because they were the first one to be found.

3.1.0 was Freddy's rework, you can imagine how much I hate it.
I thought Freddys rework was a good thing? I know that forever Freddy was lost but I do not miss having to put someone to sleep and wait 7 secs before you could do anything to them.
-
@GeneralV said:
MMR has countless problems, obviously, but 3.1.0 and the infamous 1.9.2 will always be the worst Patches, imho.
I agree 1.9.2 was the worst for me. Old MoM is a close 2nd but I forget. What was 3.1.0?

There are killers out there, like some streamers with DC in 30 to 40% of their trials because they are toxics, hard camping and tunneling first hook. You clearly have stats about it, why do you still let them playing the game while half the time someone is DCing ?
Personaly, when i play killer, no one is DC'ing, it happens like 1 time out of 50 trials.
Ban those toxic players and the toxicity will hugely decrease.
I've had survivors DC because they were the first one to be found. Why the hell should I get a dc ban for that?

And this is why I put in the work to master nurse.
Nurse says ######### you to dead hard, can easily (once mastered) chain/follow up with hits and maps (outside those with two floors) don't tend to mess with her.
Until enough survivors scream "Nurse is unfun to go against" and the devs nerf her again -.-
Seriously when the survivors want something they scream unfun and it's like the "me too" movement.
@Myla said:
They were actually on their way to fixing things in the game step by step if you compare it to like two years ago but then they somehow made a giant leap backwards with the addition of Boons lmao.
Boons remind me of 1.9.2 patch. The one where they removed the timing needed to stun a killer during a pick up animation. The people who made this game thought that would be a QoL change. Then they actually had to remove it because it was damn near impossible for killer to pick up anyone.

I got a Hillbilly mission to get the last kill myself (needed an offering for it) for 60.000 Bloodpoints. Already killed 3 and was chasing the last one, he disconnected. :/
Sometimes people get connection problems and get unfairly penalty. But in most cases, those who disconnect do so willingly. Not only in Dead By Daylight but also in other games, so I like the system as it is right now. With penalty for disconnect and no vote to quit option.
My favorite DCer. A Dwight was flashlight clicking to get my trapper's attention. He lead me to a pallet. He failed a mind game and got downed. I hooked him and left. He gets saved. Dwight them comes after me! He flashlight clicks again. He fails a mind game again. I pick him up and DS. He vaults a nearby window and steps in a trap. I pick him up. He DCs. No friggen way that was an accidental dc.

If there was a feature such as that. The moment 1 person dc's the rest WILL dc. If the dc penalty getting temporarily disabled has proven anything it's that people are more likely to quit if they can get away with it.

Back to the basics mechanics of the game, why that survivor boons are not like the hexes and stronger? unless the fact that is possible for four them to use it infinitly.
I beg to differ. Id argue boons are not only stronger but come with less negatives. Hex perks, once cleansed, are gone for good and the killer has 1 less perk for the entire match. Boons can always be relit provided the survivors dont smash all the totems.
A lot of hex perks require a build up in the form of hooks to be useful. Boons are 100% the moment they are activated.
A lot of hex perks are niche or flat out suck. Huntress lullaby comes to mind. At 5 stacks its pretty oppressive but ive hardly ever seen that perk reach 5 stacks before all gens are complete. Its lucky to last for 1 hook with bad totem placement.
Speaking of bad totem placement. There are 4 people who can spot a hex perk. Only 1 person can look for a boon totem.
The only hex perk that is actually strong is devour hope. There is no notification until its at 3 stacks. By then everyone is exposed and you feel like you are feared for once. Then at 5 you can remove a down survivor. The work feels rewarded. Unlike lullaby that just feels like its too much work for no real pay off.
-
I think the real problem with boons is they have infinite uses. So what if killer gets a perk that lets them find it. They'll just bless that totem again as soon as you leave. Why cant theyre be like a 1 min cd once a boon is removed? Like once a boon totem is squashed it cant be blessed again for a period of time.

Only further proves my point. Rather than tackling the issue of camping, tunneling, gen rushing ect. They just slap a perk and say "pretty good job so far. Give me more money!" Instead of treating the disease they are treating the symptoms.

Same to using 4 second chance because of tunneling/camping
Same to using 4 slow down because of Gens fly
Everything is fixed by perks
A band aid over a severed limb isnt "fixed". Its still bleeding profusely. Its just slowing down death and not for long. Bhvr has decided to continually pump blood into the body instead of closing the wound (balance)because they make more money selling you blood(dlc).
-
@AVoiceOfReason said:
This game is pretty close to balance-wise but I don't believe they're out to get killer mains. The problem with being a MAIN is that you don't experience both sides. You don't get to experience of being dominated by a killer who you can't do much against. The frustration of having to worry about others' giving a killer a free win. You should really play both sides and see how one affects the other. You might get some appreciation from it.
I play both sides. Lately i play survivor more because of how frustrating killer has become. The last 5 years ive found myself almost always siding with killers because i genuinely feel they are getting shafted the most.

Perks arent the answer just a band aid.

We shouldnt have to run a perk to fix something broken with the game.

I try to play as fair and nicely as I can and merely mimic how the survivors play.
That said, my builds these days on average look like this:
Lethal Pursuer, BBQ, No Way Out, NOED.
I like to go hard and fast and never stop, which is what Lethal and BBQ is good for. But if I'm clearly too much, I ease up and give the survivors a chance.
Before, some survivors would essentially spit in your face for going easy so that's why I use NWO+NOED. Instead of being bitter and merciless, I just pay half my perk slots for Killer Insurance.
No Way Out is healthy anyways as it requires you to not tunnel for a while. I prefer to only kill people at the end with NOED.
I have a fondness for make your choice. Hook someone, leave, then come back and attack the rescuer. Technically its not tunneling :p

I only loved the map when i was a stealth killer.
-
My advice to anyone playing killer.
"So long as you play by their rules, you'll never win"
-
In remembrance of demo pupper. All killer mains who have the chapter are encouraged to play 1 round as demo pupper every time the game is turned on.
-
I tried using insidious when i first got the game. I feel its counter productive unless your camping a hook. That time spent hiding, hoping someone comes by. That time could have been spent hunting.
