Im a trapper main and if I get a 3 gen, victory is not assured. You must be playing some crappy survivors if your success rate is that high. MMR hasn't done it's job yet.
-
I bring kindred when i solo. When i get face camped the randoms still refuse to do gens.
-
One that doesn't break the game.
-
Last time I checked. DCing was bad no matter who does it.
-
Unless something is truley broken. Like old MoM broken. They shouldn't touch anything they introduce for like a month. Give people time to adjust before dropping the nerf hammer.
-
Ive had issues where both teammates were under BT and they got out the gate within 20 secs. Which is why I don't want us to go back to that. I think the people complaining about current BT never knew how bad it use to be and they should just go for the unhooker. Odds are your trading at that point.

@GeneralV said:
I think BT should be reverted to one of its old versions which protected both the unhooker and the rescued survivor, but could only be used once per match.
I think it is a fair trade. It makes the perk even more effective against camping, as it originally was, but you have to be strategic about it since you can only use once.
For those who would like to see:

This is what BT should be, imho.
Please god no. Lets not go back to that. Sure it had 1 time use but just like old DS, you had to deal with it 4 times a match. There was zero risk to saving someone with old BT. The only killers who could ignore it were people who disabled their TR or bubbas chainsaw. New BT is fine the way it is now.

Im so sick of people complaining about borrowed time its literally fine
If it bothers you so bad why are you tunneling?
If your unhooked and you run to me please explain how I am tunneling? If you unhook right in my face I almost always go for the unhooker because I suspect BT and I want more people injured. But if you have BT and you come to body block me, I'm going to count to 15, down you again and let you bleed out or waste your DS. You came to me, you weren't being tunneled.

Because wraith, hag and freddy could ignore it. I just want them to remove collision when a survivor has the endurance status effect.
Yeah if the killer was Freddy I couldn't make a save if I was asleep. I also remember face camping wraiths that just waited for you to make a save then tunneled the person off hook. Killers like that are why BT+DS exist.
As for BT now I feel it's balanced. I remember when it first got here. It used to apply to both survivors. There was no danger to rescuing someone unless you got grabbed.
As for survivors body blocking. If they want to do that I just count to 15 and down them again. Either eat the DS or let them bleed.
-
If its in a V shaped area, trapper. They cant get to it without disarming

I think it's BHVR way of trying to incentivize players to switch to killer at least 1 game each day to help manage que times.
Ive been saying for years bhvr does that but they all laughed at me and my tin foil hat! >.>

Twitter, steam and low rank survivors. Some surv main streamers complained constantly as well and nobody clarified that the complaints were about the addons and just lumped it in as "billy" as a whole. So the dev's gutted EVERYTHING.
I remember old tinkerer with certain add ons created insta saw billy but that was fixed when tinkerer was reworked.

I've been here for a while and I guarantee Billy wasn't complained about. All I ever saw was Spirit, Nurse & NOED spammed in general discussions. Don't know why they bothered poor Billybob </3
Thats what i thought. Compared to other stuff billy wasnt complained about much. I always thought he set the standard for what a strong killer should be. People complained about nurse and spirit but it felt like most people were content when getting out played by a good billy
-
This is what you get when bhvr nerfs killers for no reason. Seriously, was anyone complaining about Billy being OP? This forum is full of whiners but I don't think Billy was on the radar when you had Nurse and Spirit.
-
Ive been taking many breaks from dbd since last year. Only play when friends want to swf and they all uninstalled when sbmm was introduced. "I came" back for a bit when pinhead released but left again before boons. Been playing another play through of evil genius 2 while I wait for Endwalker.

My point remains. Give it more than a day.

Someone the other day had a three wish from the devs thread. My #3 was three crouches in quick succession within the exit gates blocks the gate for said survivor. Called it the Karma Effect. I'd love little punishments for BMing like that. Maybe after hitting a survivor on the hook twice, your weapon drops and gets stuck for two minutes or something.
I love using blood warden for that reason. Its difficult to proc but when it does. The look on a teabaggers face when he realizes he cant get out. Priceless /kefka laugh

Well, clearly they do feel it's bad for the game since they're looking to fix it. I'm perfectly okay with making it impossible to spam click or teabag, or making each click use a minimum of one charge so it drains the flashlight bad to do it. I dislike flashlights as a whole.
I wouldnt mind a perk like "For multiple teabags or flashlight clicks the entity impales said survivor"

You definitely don't speak for anyone but yourself when you attempt to justify scummy behavior. There are plenty of killers that camp and tunnel because it's easy, effective, and upsetting to the other side. Let's not pretend this community isn't filled with toxic people that get off on making other people miserable.
The devs have stated numerous times that tunneling and camping IS NOT scummy or bad behavior. Personally I would call teabagging and flashlight clicking bad behavior but there are no rules against that either. I never said there aren't killer that tunnel and camp to be toxic. Not once did I say that. I only said there are plenty of people who understand it sucks when your tunneled out of the game yet they do it because they want to stand a chance at winning too.

I’m not lying but I guess you want to believe I am because my experience in the game doesn’t fit your narrative of “survior bad killer good”. I am trying to help both sides here and you are trying to kill the game for both sides for no reason by acting like this isn’t a problem
Killers tunneling+camping is not THE problem. It is a symptom of the real disease. Which is survivors are too powerful when they know how to play. The entire reason killers tunnel and camp is unless your using the 2 meta killers it is impossible to get 12 hooks before they repair 5 gens. Unless they screw up. Which decent survivors never do. This game is designed to only function if the survivors make mistakes or do not gen rush. It doesn't matter how well you play killer. If both sides perform optimally the killer will always lose because they are out numbered.
Then the devs keep balancing the game around newbie survivors. Giving them even more tools to win. They need to put their foot down and tell survivors "git gud. Your not suppose to be able to beat the killer in a 1v1". You can't tell me survivors are not the favored child. Ruin+Undying was a thing for like 3 months before they nerfed it. DS took 4 years! Last chapter more killers were nerfed yet boons were not touched.
Most killers actually don't like tunneling because they feel the same if that was done to them. But they do it because they need to remove someone asap to stand a chance at high mmr. It's very common for 3 gens to pop by the time you can down 1 person. Killers need a snow ball effect to recover from that.

I have. I play a lot of killer and I have gotten to red ranks multiple times. You don’t need to camp and tunnel to do it
Your lying because any person who really plays killer knows tunneling and camping are made up survivor words.

Play killer for 24 hours

I...feel you.
Even games where you lose as survivor are substantially more relaxing than playing killer is a lot of the time. Boons...boons were a mistake.
BHVR have got a job of work ahead of them, because survivor queues just seem to get longer and longer.
Bhvr has a lot of work ahead of them, but they dont have to do it cause there's no real competitor. Heres hoping vhs takes off.
-
Hold W?
-
Dude, she just got here. Give it a month before coming to a decision.
-
The thing i hate about bedham is everyone runs to the god damn school or whatever is the strongest loop.
I left when sbmm came out. Every match i have, regardless of the killer i use, its either noobs or try hards. Mostly the latter. Then boons came out which is not encouraging me to come back. Then a chapter just came out and boons have not been touched yet more killers were nerfed. This is the circle of life for dbd. Once or twice a year they will introduce a chapter that calls me back then they quickly screw it up and i leave again.

It's more that BHVR tend to start swinging the nerf hammer before the dust has had a chance to settle.
Take Pinhead as the best, recent example.
I came back to the game for him, as Hellraiser is one of my all-time favorite franchises.
When I started off, I was doing really well. I'd constantly get free chain hunts, people didn't know how to handle him and I'd win more often than not.
Two months later, I was struggling without addons. People learned how to handle the box and how to juke his chains.
When I played him on Sunday, I got rolled pretty hard. With addons.
What I'm saying is that giving the meta a chance to readjust and letting people learn to play against a killer, then waiting to see if the balance shifts naturally is always going to be preferable to just hacking away the second someone complains.
There is also a degree of 'sour grapes' here, as killers always seem to get slapped with overly harsh, extremely fast nerfs while ridiculously broken stuff like OoO and DS took years to be nerfed and we still have CoH (and now Overcome) which are so obviously game-breaking that...yeah. People get frustrated because it feels like there is a double standard at play.
It doesn't "feel" like there's a double standard. There most certainly IS a double standard.
-
Considering boons have not been touched, mmr is terrible at higher lvls and this killer is original. I imagine killer community probably have no incentive to come back dbd again. I don't feel the urge to come back so bhvr will just have to find other meat for their grinder that is playing killer.
A side note. There's nothing wrong with an original character. In fact I like them because bhvr is free to do whatever they want with them and there is zero chance of them suddenly disappearing once the license runs up(Rip demopupper). Since they aren't a licensed killer there isn't an already existing fan base so there isn't a surge in player basis when an original killer arrives.
-
It will never happen but i would love to see bhvr say
"Swf is over performing"
-
<insert bhvrs catch phrase>
Were at the point where everyone pretty much knows what that is :p
-
I think the biggest flaw with hex perks is they only function if the survivors choose to ignore them. With boons now everyone is finding bonez. Making hex perks even less viable. Before boons you could get some value from a hex because gen rushers ignored it.
The point im trying to make is you shouldn't design something that depends on your opponents negligence to get value out of it.

Imagine saying surv to not use killer power lmfao 🤣
You joke but I've seen it happen -.-
-
How is this any different than people bringing 4 keys every match before it's nerf?
4 tool boxes before the BNPs nerf?
Anything before it was about to be nerfed?
-
One match i did not respect the kobe. As well as every other made up rule in the survivors rulebook for killers :p

Honestly ever since blight all recent killers have been fairly boring.
Twins we’re unique but poorly made
Trickster is a literal joke
Nemesis is just more of the same
Pinhead is fine but nothing groundbreaking
And artist is just another anti loop killer
I agree with everything except pinhead. Yes his power is a rehash of existing powers but the box mechanic is a breath of fresh air. Provided it goes off. When his chapter released i actually came back for a bit. Then boons were introduced and i left again.
-
The new mmr is no improvement over what we had before. If a group of survivors(random or swf) is in que and theres no killer in your range. It will throw the first person available.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Everyone goes back to the same meta after trying the new perks for 2 days
2 days is being generous. More like after 2 matches people go back to the meta.
-
All of my friends uninstalled even before boons were introduced. BHVR will have to do something pretty major to get them to come back. Until then I'll stick to playing something else.
-
@legacycolt said:
Ok but let’s turn off Nurse in that weekend too ok?
I will gladly give up Nurse for a weekend if it means turning off DH. I have other options and I use them. I don't stick with the same thing over and over because it's broken.
-
How dare you make it harder for us to bully you!
/rage quit.......
/makes a thread about "DC penalty should be disabled"
-
OP I believe you learned that solo sucks and swf is OP in this game. If you want to truly understand it you need to play the killer going against 4 people using headsets.
-
Even before they "fixed" it I was seeing DH 9 out of 10 times.
-
Blood Echo is not the only useless perk. In fact I think half the perks in the game are useless. Another prime example is furtive chase. Every time you hook the obsession your terror radius is reduced during a chase. What possible purpose would that serve? Your chasing someone they already know your after them. The whole point of having a smaller tr is to get the drop on them before they know your there. What is the point of a smaller tr during a chase? If it was reversed, smaller tr outside a chase, then I could think of uses for it.
-
Competition is a good thing. It pushes people/things to do better. To adapt. To evolve. Without that drive there's just stagnation.
Which is why I dont believe in participation trophies.
-
Until they release the next survivor ><
-
@Dino7281 said:
No, hacking problem is already big enough...
Im kind of in agreement. Considering all the dlc and cosmetics I think this game could survive, perhaps thrive, if it were F2P but they have to work out the hacker problem first.
-
DBD is not balanced around high lvl play. If that were true then there would be more than 3 viable killers at high mmr. If anything it's balanced around new players with all the hand holding bhvr does. There have been many competitors before and they all flopped for one reason or another. I hope we finally get a good competitor because bhvr won't work harder if they have a monopoly. They don't have to keep us happy because there's no one else.
@Phasmamain said:
Look I’m hyped to play VHS but It won’t kill dbd
Same. I hope the game does well but I doubt it will kill dbd.
-
At least with the old pip system, blendettes that hid all game never ranked up.
-
Usually almost every game I end it with gg. I never say gg ez. To me, saying gg ez is like saying "you suck".
-
This is not a coincidence. Bhvr is worried vhs will take away their player basis. Several developer's do this. Wow is releasing some event the week before ff14s newest expansion comes out. That was before the delay.
-
We all know the event will last into December. The game is going to break on launch and they will extend it as saying "we're sorry".
