DS was broken for 4 years.
Undying+ruin was mildly powerful for 3 months.
Bhvr works faster when one particular side has complaints. That side being the majority.

Remember when she could go up to 7?!
Actually i dont but i believe it. The most ive seen was 5. I never did more than 2. I tried 3 once and it was actually too easy. So i stopped using it.

She's definitely not balanced considered how bad are the vast majority of the other killers! She requires the survivors to act as a team, while the other killers struggle to go against ONE survivor. That's what DBD became when you play with weaker killers, 1x1, because they can't compete with 4 survivors.
The only thing that makes her unfair is the range and recharge addons, she do not need them.
Remember when she had add ons that gave her 4 blinks? That was broken.
-
Im not burned out at all because i havent really played for a good amount in the last 2 years. I have no incentive to come back. Between the imbalance, the toxic community, the hacker infestation and bhvr in general. I see no reason to stop "playing something else"

And I am still very curious too see what counterplay she has. Holding w doesn't work, looping doesn't work, being unpredictable doesn't work because she is allowed to swing anywhere she wants after a blink etc. How exactly is nurse countered?
Play nurse for 10 hours. Then come back to this thread and tell us she has zero counterplay. This is sounding more and more like a you problem than a problem with the game.

In the nicest possible way I am so glad you're not on the balance team
On this entire forum, theres only about 3 people i would want on the balance team. Everyone else is bias or doesnt have a clue that theyre doing.

Then that would be abused by every Survivor. There has been times where I was chasing a Survivor and they looped me around a hooked Survivor. They looped me for so long that the Survivor died on hook and they accused me of camping when I did no such thing. That's why BHVR wants to take this carefully because they don't want to punish inocent players.
Camping and Tunneling are valid strata when used at the correct time and not to be used right out of the gate just to "thin" the heard. I have camped and tunneled when Old Hatches were a thing only to take a Key Holder out of play. (I dont own Bubba so I can't use Franklin's)
This actually has already happened. For a time bhvr made it so the hook timer paused if the killer was X meters from the hook. Survivors learned if they looped the killer at the hook they had an infinite amount of time to make a save. Thank the entity they learned this mistake and removed it.
-
And bhvr wonders why no one wants to play killer.

Yeah well,1 side is right and 1 wrong, camping Bubba is a stupid tactic that should be removed from the game.
"Anyone who doesnt share my opinion is evil." How liberal of you.

They got compared when PGTW was nerfed (Timer reduced from 60 seconds to 45 seconds), simply because both have a timer.
This was the sole reason. And the wrong mentality of "When one side gets nerfed, the other side should get a Nerf as well".
Honestly, if the devs had just kept their mouths shut about why they were lowering the duration of pop then no one would have brought up DS still being 60 secs. If they had just done it and never mentioned "60 secs is too long" then the topic could have been avoided. Ever notice the more info the devs give the dbd community, the more fuel they have to burn them? I feel comparing DS to pop wasn't even about the 60 secs. It was more about pointing out bhvr's incompetence when it comes to game balance.
-
Yeah i hate it when i crush someone only to discover theyre new. Makes me feel bad. Playing against try hards 90% of the time has affected me.
-
This is just my opinion. The devs dont want to remove perk tiers because they want people to play the game for as long as possible. The sooner you unlock everything, the faster you get bored and "play something else".
-
I will sacrifice half of the perks in the killers blood web(because most suck) and spirit(because i suck at playing her)
In exchange, survivors lose any and all forms of voice communication and the button to crouch :p
-
The only rule is, so long as you are not cheating, play however you want. The survivors do not care about you or your fun. Dont ever let them tell you how to play.
-
Community: can we get a fix for mm?
Bhvr: Heres another chapter with a rehash of existing content. Give me more money!
-
Ive felt underwhelmed by the last 2 years of chapter releases. I seriously feel that the game is hemorrhaging its life blood and instead of closing the wound, bhvr has decided to keep pumping in fresh blood.

Agree with your sentiments.
But the devs have done nothing to help themselves with some of the attitudes displayed.
I.E colourblind mode video and the go play Civilization video as well.
The attitude just shocks me, as a consumer and as i've gotten older (im 38) i find myself less tolerant of crap behaviour from businesses, to the extent that i won't give them my money anymore. I've walked past stores that have something i want cheaper than another store but i'll refuse to give them any of my money and pay more elsewhere.
It does have to go both ways, yes it is a business and businesses are there to make a profit, so i get the need for content to generate cash, but you'd think for every bit of new content they would look at updating older content to make it relevant.
How many perks are completely rubbish now days compared to the modern ones. Even if it's one a patch just do something with them.
As a fellow older person(36) im finding myself getting fed up with bs practices as well. Its sad that when a game first releases i expect it to break or crash the first week. Part of me is saying "i paid money for a product. It should work right from the start". At times i miss gaming before the internet. Back when game developers had to test everything before their game released because there was no way to patch it once it hit the shelves. Now people release games that arent even finished and say "it'll get better". With dbd my attitude lately has been "theres plenty of other games out there. Why should i buy your new chapter or come back for your anniversary event if its going to break the game?".

Just to say, new horror slashers will always appear. Look this year on Marvel's movie production, they are going crazy on "super-heroes", why wouldn't other production companies go crazy on slashers.
Asymmetrical horror games are shining hard now.
Asymmetrical games are really really hard to balance. There have been several that flopped shortly after release.
Evolve, deceit, last year, resident evil resistance, vhs "could" be next. Too early to tell.
As for marvel super hero movies. They are starting to decline. I loved no way home but black widow, hawkeye, ten rings and eternals sucked. Wandavision got better near the end but the first 3 episodes put me to sleep. Tom Hiddleston carried Loki.
-
The game wont die anytime soon but its on life support. A lot of people arent happy with current state of the game. The only reason its lived as long is the license killers and its free on most platforms. Theres also no real competition and bhvr knows it. Eventually they will run out of new content to keep people coming back.

Right now, survivors are the biggest threat for other survivors.
Simply because some people just throw a match, for no reason at all.
Also survivors who bully killers arent helping either. You know what happens when they bully someone trying to learn killer? They leave or they play survivor. Thus que times suck.
-
Im kind of against buffing this perk because i remember the days when it wasnt tied to a cd. Tractors on cowshed were infinites. I do agree there are maps where this perk is useless. /looks at sheltered woods

Dead by Daylight could use something like Friday the 13th had, the salt mines. Players that habitually disconnect get queued up with other frequent disconnecters and leave the people that don't ######### their teammates to queue together
It would be nice. Though most of the player basis would probably be in there.
-
A health patch is exactly what the game needs or seven. It wont happen though. BHVR makes money selling us new content then fixing their game.
-
I think if noed were to be removed, you will complain about something else.

Oh they're probably trying to emulate the funny clicky clicky streamers they've seen except the funny streamers actually have some talent whilst they... don't, and it leads to very sad flops while you just stare in disappointment like Sadako
Yeah i think thats 95% of the streamers that bait me. They get my attention, i catch them, hook them, they get saved, instead of getting healed they grab my attention again, i pick them up, they ds, vault a nearby window, step in a trap and they rage quit. Thats why i generally dont like streamers. Instead of doing objectives they are trying to put on a show. Then they quit if the killer isnt a newb they can easily bully.

There isn't enough time for three other survivors to do all gens and escape especially if the killer brought Deadlock + No Way Out to use with NOED (Also not enough time to cleanse all 5 totems to prevent NOED).
Face camping with Bubba is the easiest way to guarantee zero effort kills that's why so many killers are doing it lately and it's why cannibal has such high kill rates but nobody wants to talk about all of that.
Just do gens and leave 4head
I honestly just play something else bcuz it seems like killers don't want you to even play the game anymore.
I think the majority of good killers have been "playing something else" and all thats left are the newbs. I came back a bit when pin head released but that lasted for a week. Besides those brief reappearances i havent really played dbd in the last 2 years. It just isnt fun anymore and bhvr certainly isnt improving the game. Or every time they do something good they screw up 2 other things.
-
I think the other 3 survivors should do gens and leave.
-
Whats stopping the killer from getting a 3 gen?
Survivors with brains in their heads.
-
@C3Tooth said:
Camping, tunneling, gen rushing are parts that make the game unfun. Im happy if they add BT as basekit, but there should also come with something that soften gen rushing as basekit.
The issue is bhvr very rarely gives killer anything to compensate a flatout survivor buff. Or itll come 6 months later. Like how they gutted ruin but left toolboxes untouched. The game was unplayable those months. Any perk that becomes basekit for survivor, thats 4 people getting a free perk. No perk they give the killer would make up the difference. I hope bt does not become basekit.

It refers to how many cosmetics keep coming out, opposed to the amount of fixes and changes. Or rather, the frequency of ‘em dropping.
Either way, it doesn’t hold up all that well because they’re different teams.
Different teams is irrelevant. Whatever money they are paying the cosmetic team, that money could have been spent to hire better programers and some actual testers.
-
Make furtive chase lower your tr "outside" of a chase. Equip m&a,+get a few hooks=every killer is a stealth killer :p
-
This is one of the reasons that keeps me from coming back to dbd. Cheaters were no where near this common. When i was playing I only ran into 2 that were certainly cheating and a handful of questionable cheaters. Now I cant browse the forum without hearing about them.

Honestly, I feel the old system that used emblems was definitely inferior. Some of those medals require survivor cooperation. I would rather just have kills be what makes me climb or fall.
In the old system i could die and still rank up. Now if i repair 3 gens, make 5 saves, heal various people, lead the killer on a good chase, pallet stun him twice BUT i get caught and face camped. I depip.
Meanwhile that crouching douchbag that did nothing all game gets the hatch and ranks up. Who the #@/$ thought this was a better system?
-
As far as perks go. Any form of gen slow down is almost mandatory being a killer that requires time to setup. I prefer corrupt intervention but whatever works.
Sadly your an m1 killer. Perks like bamboozle, stbfl, enduring, spirit fury ect are nice.
As for tracking my personal favorite is whispers. Once you know how it works you can use it to pin down where they are. Best part is they can't hide from it and it also tells you where they are not. This lets you know its probably safe to plant a trap they wont see. Or it tells you to not waste your time, no one is there.
As for general advice. You dont want to get into a chase too early. You want to plant traps in various places. Directly at pallets/windows are too obvious. Only trap there if you want to shutdown that loop. Otherwise put traps around loops, in grass if available. End game is where you shine. You will want to look at the gens and decide which ones you want to protect and which to let go. If your chasing someone and they run to an area with no gens, no traps but lots of pallets. Just let them go and pressure someone else. Whenever possible, hook them in the basement and trap everywhere!!! Trapper thrives on over altruism. If you have a hex in a V shaped alcove, a trap is a good way to protect it. Trapping the exit gates is a great way to keep them in the match.
There's plenty of good trapper guides out there. Just know that he is a low tier killer and you will often struggle. It is nice when they step in a trap though. It feels like you out smarted them :)

If the people complaining about this haven't been able to figure out that the game devs are implementing anti-cheating fixes unless they're explicitly told about them, what makes you think those people are going to take the time to go through the game code or the placebo anti-cheat software to see what it does and doesn't do and clearly articulate that in the form of a plausible argument that everyone can understand? Even if they could, who with the requisite knowledge would want to do that if it was in the game's best interest?
Everyone in this thread with an advanced working knowledge of x86 assembly and a free month to go through all of that (without joining the dark side and making a profit on cheats yourself, of course) plus the desire to do so just to potentially slightly undermine a game developer's attempt to be slightly dishonest to people who cheat at online games, raise a hand.
I think you're overestimating peoples' intelligence and level of motivation here. It could work.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2833090#Comment_2833090
See my above answer to Shroomy.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2833088#Comment_2833088
The reason people keep running into cheaters is probably because every time BHVR patches a security hole, someone finds another one. That's how hacking works; it's a cat-and-mouse game. They could patch every known cheat immediately right now and there'd be a whole new collection to take their place within a month. I'd bet that some of the people developing these things are holding extra cheats in reserve for when their current ones get hotfixed so they still have something to sell.
I agree that there are probably some common sense things that BHVR could do that they apparently haven't done for whatever reason (like having the engine double-check that you're not doing something that should violate the physics of the game or using effects from a perk/addon you don't have or that shouldn't exist), but expecting no cheaters to exist at all probably unfortunately isn't reasonable.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2833096#Comment_2833096
Shirtless Myers is probably all we actually need to solve this problem, true.
I'm not suggesting they get rid of all cheaters. I know thats impossible. I'm just saying when they say they are dealing with them, but it feels like the amount of cheaters are increasing. It gives off the impression they aren't doing anything and that makes the game look bad. It's not making me want to come back.

Yes.
If it has Old, GeneralV is sold.
There is only one exception, which is Old Legion.
It feels like for every 1 thing bhvr gets right they get 2 things wrong.
I don't miss old legion. Stabbing someone and walking backwards, following the blood trail until they bleed out. Or double mending add ons. However, I think I miss old Freddy.
They got rid of omega blink nurse and 4x blink nurse, cool. Then they added a cd to her blinks. Making her even more punishing if you screw up -.-
Old MoM should have never been introduced to the game. A ton of people said that's going to break the game. They changed it but now the perk is now useless.
I love the reworks to bt+ds. I feel both perks are in a good spot. I do not like the rework to ruin. I know people will disagree with me. That's fine, that's your opinion. I miss old ruin. Also old undying.
Why did Billy's chainsaw get an overheat mechanic? Seriously. Billy was considered one of the most balanced killers once tinkered was reworked. Why drastically change what was working? Haven't you heard of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"?
I do not miss insta syringes yet we now have to deal with coh?
Breakable walls sounded like a good idea but poorly implemented. Now it's just another thing killer has to break or else a loop becomes an infinite.
We finally got skill based match making. Then we found out it's only looking at escapes or kills. The old pip system was better than this.

I think it would be better if bhvr said nothing at all. I've worked in some crappy, dead end jobs. Whenever there was a serious problem and we brought it to management the response was always the same. "We'll look into it". When nothing got done it meant they didn't look or worse. They looked and deemed it not important enough to do anything. Which just made you feel like they didn't care about you. Then when you give them your 2 weeks notice they look at you like your the ######### for leaving.
Saying they are dealing with the cheaters, yet you keep running into them, is giving me the same impression. Either they aren't doing anything or they aren't doing enough. Either way, it sucks for you.
-
I just browsed the replies. I'm surprised no.one said blendette

I got the game shortly before huntress came out, as far as I can tell. I remember doing that global challenge of break X amount of pallets. I use to play a lot but lately I've hardly played in the last 2 years. I've mostly played killer. I played survivor with friends. I use to get on when friends wanted to play but all my friends uninstalled after sbmm was introduced. I came back for like a week when pinhead released but got bored again. Haven't played since.
