When the player basis truly drops i predict the game will be like Evolve. When i try to play there wont be anyone online. If there is the monster is a god player and my hunter teammates are newbs.
-
Lets combine dead hard and no mither ^.^

I think that's a little unfair. People wanted more of these events before, and now we're getting more of these events it's suddenly a 'transparent PR ploy'.
It probably has the added side bonus of being a good PR move, but I think it's a little premature to assume that was the sole intent.
When i said i wanted more events, i meant stuff like the hallowed blight event. Logging in to claim a reward is not what i call an event. Its lazy.
-
In order to fix tunneling the game would have to be changed. There needs to be a better option than focusing one person out of the game quickly.
-
I can picture bhvr going full EA mode and add even more microtransactions.
"You can play for hundreds of hours and hope your bloodweb gives you DS. Or you can pay us $4 and unlock it now" /fine print"does not remain if you prestige"
-
Theres also a boon that hides scratch marks when they exit the radius. Shadow step i believe. Im not too familiar with boons. Been on a long break. The survivor could have entered shadow steps radius and when they exited, the scratches would be hidden for a few secs.

I thought things like this were planned months in advance.
They could have just scheduled the chapter and the login awards to release near the same time. That way even if the chapter was a success or not, they have a safety net.
-
Ill believe it "if" it actually happens.

the funny thing is it doesn't, steamcharts allows to be precises' enough to know if the players are actually playing or just logging in and exiting, which is why steam charts is useful for grasping how active a community is on MMOs that are on steam.
I was under the impression if you turn on dbd and immediately turn it off. Steam considers you an "active player". Which is why login rewards screw with the charts.
-
Login rewards, to me at least, feel like a means to screw with the steam charts to hide the fact the chapter wasnt well received.

I have no idea how bhvr could go about doing this or even if it is possible. As i know nothing about programming.
What i think would really help the game is if we had some sort of program overseeing the flow of a match and adjusts things accordingly. Example, the survivors repaired 3 gens by the time the killer made one down. The entity steps in and affects gen progression in some way. And no, this idea isnt just for killers. Say the killer is hooking people left and right. The entity speeds up how fast you can heal to try to recover.
I dont think it is possible to make every killer viable. This method would adjust the flow of the match on an "as needed" basis. What might be fair for a m1 killer would be op for a meta one. Which is why i feel the match should be worked depending on the killer being used. Just some idea I had. Im sure someone will shoot it down but im trying to help.

True, but in my perspective the trapper should have the default theme instead of other killers out there that need a rework.
Samination has convinced me. I want trappers theme song to be "here comes the trapper" :p
-
Why would they care about their reputation when people will keep giving them money for cosmetics and half backed chapters?
-
Not a solution but if you happen to play trapper. Put a trap at an exit gate at some point during the match. When the 3rd survivor dies look for the hatch. If you happen to close it the survivor is screwed unless they have a key.
-
I totally agree a health chapter would retain more players than a new, rehashed killer. The thing is BHVR doesnt make money on a health chapter. We all know thats why the game doesnt get patched enough.

Ive said this a year ago and Ill say it again. There are people out there, a lot of them sadly, that feel the only way they can have fun is if they are winning. My nephew was a prime example when he was younger. When Halo Reach came out he constantly asked me and his daddy to play. As soon as he was losing it changed to "I dont wanna play anymore :(" It got worse as he got older. I made a fortress in the map maker and somehow I did something by mistake that made the truck's gauss laser shoot through the walls. We discovered it by accident. There was literally no way to win against that. The laser would go through any and all cover, killing you in one hit. We were split screen so there was no way to hide from it. We try not to look at each others screen but you cant help it. Its in your peripheral vision. We agreed to stop doing it but every time my nephew was losing, he would jump on the truck and shoot through the walls. We laughed at first but told him to stop doing it. 4 mins later he does it again. We told him to stop and 5 mins later he does it a 3rd time. So we shut off the game. Then that night I removed the truck from the map. When we played again a week later my nephew was upset I took the truck out and I told him "You kept cheating. So I took it out and no one can use it". Eventually my nephew learned that losing isn't as bad as not getting to play at all. The issue with online gaming is people continue to do stuff like my nephew did for quick, unfair wins but there is no consequence. They just que up for another match. If they get caught cheating they just make another account and do it again. The people your playing with arent in the same room as you. They are who knows where in the world and you were most likely never meet them.

lmao just read your edit to the comment you posted "Gens were done in 20 seconds solo". Bro? Wake up was a 15% speed increase, it did not make gens get completed in 20 seconds, you are entirely over exaggerating this.
It would have taken 12 seconds off the gen, not even close to being "done in 20 seconds by solos".
You're intentionally lying to people now, ridiculous.
I was wrong. It was 9.45 secs :P

Clown had a bug with his pinky finger bottle that would give exposed to people that touched the gas, he also had a speed glitch where spamming reload would cause him to be faster than billy, you're free to look through my post history to see if I wanted killers banned for using those (hint, I didn't).
There have absolutely been bugs that are awful, but infinite mending was taking the game hostage, you could absolutely win against Wake Up abusers, and even then, you weren't stuck in a match for 30+ minutes to mend.
A perk that caused matches to end in 2 mins is not winnable. Unless those survivors were jerking around and got themselves killed.
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2843921#Comment_2843921
Why do people compare the wake up bug to the legion one?
The legion one caused mending to last 20+ minutes, where as Wake up just made matches end faster but was still entirely beatable.
Wake up sped up everything
Gens, healing, vaulting, unhooking. And not by a miniscule amount either. A noticeable difference. Window vaults could be looped for even longer with this bug. Gens were done solo in like 20 secs. This was no beatable at all. This was broken. How would you feel if there was a bug that made killer run faster, downed you in one hit, his power recharged in 2 secs and could mori you at the start of a match? If you cant see how much of a problem this is, your either bias or a troll.
The reason im comparing the 2 bugs is they happened roughly at the same time. Both bugs ruined the game. Killers got banned for using it yet nothing happened to survivors using wake up..........favoritism?
-
If the game was really dying, we wouldn't need a thread on the forums to tell is. We would just know.
-
@Hermit said:

That's the big gameplay problem.
If they make gens take longer, a hard camping / tunneling killer will get more than the maximum of two kills he should get against an experienced team that wants to escape.
Then you have players that just want some fun, some BPs, some emblem points. These killer players will not be affected by changes to camping / tunneling. But the gameplay loop is also not going to improve for them. They will still get maybe three to four hooks by the time all gens are done.
So changes to gen times and camping need to come together... my hopes are low... very low.
Given their track record. The devs usually dont rework 2 different things at the same time. They usually do one, the game is broken for 6 months, then they do the other.

A bad Nurse is fun to go against. A good one who just blinks on you, hits, blinks on you, down, is boring af.
So a killer that is powerless is fun but one that is an actual threat is unfair?
Im glad your not on the balance team.

@Plsfix369 said:

That's where latency and short range blinks come in, there's no anticipation if she can charge her blink for a half second and wreck you then next.
Nurse has no counter play in Mid to short distance ranges, cause she can blink twice faster than you can juke, not to mention the small latency on both sides that makes the nurse blink faster than what you can see on your screen.
All the Nurse has to do is catch up to you in mid to close range in order to land a SURE AND EXACT PINPOINT HIT.
The only way a nurse can mess up is if she always swings in the first blink trying to overreach or doesn't see where she's going.
If nurse gets that close to you. You either did something wrong or she got the drop on you.
FYI. Putting parts of your comment in bold does not strengthen your logic.
-
I admit playing as nurse is frustrating but rewarding. If i win i feel i out played them. If i lose its because i feel i messed up my blinks and not imbalance.

It's not so much the layout itself that makes the layout confusing its that so many corridors look so simalar and have 0 refrence so you cannot tell where in the layout you are.
When that map first came out. I was in a 3 man swf. One friend got hooked in the basement. I was nearby and the killer left immediately. By the time I found the damn stairs he went to tier 2 on the hook.
-
The people who complain about Nurse being re=enabled are probably the same people who want stretch rez back. They just want things to be easy for them.
When I play nurse the majority of survivors I run into just do things wrong. It's like they never played against a nurse before. They try to loop a pallet, they vault a window, they try to flashlight blind me. Then there's the survivors that know what to do when facing a nurse. Block los, forcing me to guess where they are going. Did they double back or did they keep going? If I see a survivor loop the outside of the shack I know it's going to be a challenge. They use stairs to mess up my blinks. I charge a blink on silent hills map, the survivor runs towards me, I aim downwards and I go through the floor -.- A lot of survivors dont understand it's very punishing and frustrating to play nurse and screw up a blink. Your slower than survivors so therefore your power is all your have. Your not going to switch to nurse and suddenly get 4ks every game. It takes a lot of hours to get consistent with blinks.

This goes for both sides
I dont want easier games but I want games where I feel like it was a good game. 3 gens popping by the time I down 1 person is not "fair" IMO. By the time I did 1/12 my objective they were able to do 3/5s theirs. I want to have fun too. I dont want to be there just so 4 other people can bully me.

Regarding Legiom banning: they haven’t done that again right? And have introduced the killswitch feature for that.
also, there is still powerful stuff on killers side (Blight with certain build, Nurse, Spirit with certain build)
and yeah I agree the game is still survivor sided when looking at high skill /experienced players. I am not denying that.
I think at the time of the double legion add on bug there was no disable killer option.

I miss read your previous post. I thought you said killer "still" has OP stuff.
Long ago we did have broken things I do not miss. 5 blink nurse, insta saw billy, machine gun hatchet huntress, legion with double mending add ons. When people found that legion exploit bhvr started banning people caught using that. Survivor never gets punished using stuff that is considered exploitable. Like the wake up bug.

To be fair, the survivor nerfs are (toolboxes, DS, OoO and others) are pretty much exactly what a major part of the community asked for and I remember a time were the hatch giving multiple survivors ‚free‘ escapes was said to be the worst imbalanced thing in the game - though those people that claimed it didn’t acknowledge the fact it got changed and are now complaining about the next thing, acting like nothing ever gets done..
the addon passes you mentioned weren’t meant to be major reworks, Ghostface is for example confirmed to be next in line to get a rework. Trapper also got what many asked for. I agree those changes were not enough.. but the devs are not ignoring killers.
I remember when exhaustion was not a thing. Survivors could stack SB, Lithe and DH and they all had their own separate cd's. You could recharge SB "while" running. Then when bhvr finally noticed this was broken they added exhaustion. The survivors screamed "OMFG this will break the game".
I remember insta syringes, BNPs finishing gens in under 30 secs, double pallets at various loops, pallet vacuum, BT working on both the unhooked and the unhooker, hatch giving all 4 survivors free escapes.
The point of my ranting. I remember a lot of stuff that broke the game. 80% of it was all survivor sided.

Yeah, I keep coming back here and yet haven't played in months... ;(
Same. Im going on a 2 year hiatus. I occasionally pop on game for "some" new chapters, play for a day and remember why i left. I browse the forum to try to stay up to date and its something to do when im bored at work.
As for op's topic. To bring me back the game would have to be fun to play. No idea how bhvr can achieve that but for me, thats what it comes down too. If im not enjoying the game i play a different game.

Never forgive, never forget.
I believe in learning from history. Not sweeping it under the rug and pretend it never happened

I find it funny.
Killers complain about flashlights
Survivors say "duh, just use lightborn"
Killer brings lightborn
Survivors complain they cant blind the killer

I mean prove me wrong, how is camping a fair tactic?
If you fall for it and the killer gets another hook. Its fair. The killer gets more kills, the ######### sbmm ranks him up. He thinks "this seems to be working. Ill keep doing it" and he continues to camp.
Now if you do gens and get out. The killer gets 1k, no bp, no rank ups and hopefully they realize "this isnt working. Maybe i should try actually playing the game" and they stop camping.

How long did they need to change MoM?
And how long was Spirit in her powerful state before receiving nerfs?
Boil overs buff is still in, right?
also, if they actually listened blindly to the majority, they would have made changes to camping, tunneling and Noed a long time ago. Stop cherry picking. They are slow in most cases.
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

People wanted Spirit nerfs because she had not any counterplay and it took years nerf her.
MoM was so strong at release and it nerfed 2 months later.
Bhvr works faster when one particular side has complaints. That side being the majority.
They only changed MoM because no one wanted to play killer when it came out. The perk should never have been created in the first place. Its testament to bhvrs incompetence.
Remember patch 1.9.2? They only changed that not because it was impossible for killers to hook someone, but because survivors complained about slugging builds.
The only time they throw killer a bone is when there are so few left the survivors cant get a match. Literally every decision bhvr makes is for the survivors benefit even if survivors dont agree with it.
-
Lets disable DH. The game will be so much better.
See the issue?
@GannTM said:
This honestly isn’t a good mindset because I’m sure people that enjoyed her were dreading the whole month. I hate Nurse too but no killer should have to go through this. Imagine if Spirit got killswitched for a whole month, I’d have a heart attack.
This. I put in the time to p3 my nurse and to git gud. Now that im a good nurse, not a god nurse, op thinks i shouldnt play a killer i invested my time into because he doesnt want to face her.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Because players in DBD are unable to focus on their own mistakes. Obviously Killers only lose because the Survivor had Dead Hard. And Survivors only die because the Killer tunneled them. That the Killer was overcommiting to a Chase in a strong area or the Survivor was running into Deadzones the whole time is not important, nono.
For once i agree with you. Almost all losses can be traced back to self error. Thats why i like to record my matches and watch them to point out where i screwed up or what i could have done better.
