This change only encourages people to DC.

As much as I want there to be some balancing around swf, it would be unfair to randoms. I think a better solution is give the killer some benefits if they are facing a swf.

Yeah the font was changed but mobile still looks the same.

BHVR tends to take the quickest route to fixing a problem. Often it's not the best solution but it's the cheapest.

Dont forget to change your name to "We trap da basement" and watch how many people loop near the basement :P

When I swf I run it all the time with bt and wglf. Its my farming build :p

What happened to “do bones”?
Now that COH is nerfed, let’s get rid of that unnecessary movement speed boost NOED provides!
"Do bones" does not apply to killers the same as survivors. When survivors do bones, they are gone for good. If killer does bones you just bring the bones back.

Welcome back comrade. Make them bleed!

Yeah, this is the hard part to balance.
I just ran a bunch of solo games, and no bully squad teammates in sight.
Just stacked gen slowdowns, tunneling and right back to the hook killers. With teammates that always had at least one weak link.
So where is the middle ground, idk.
But the ultra competitive nature of the game will kill solo q, have fun.
It's gonna be Nothing but bully squads vs sweaty ass killers soon.
To bad we couldn't just have fun with it and play it like we do KYF.
That's what bothers me. You play solo survivor, you get paired with complete noobs. You play killer, you face sweat squads. Like where were these people when I was playing survivor?

The only time I have an issue with flashlights is when they are doing the side by side locker juke. Other than that I feel flashlights are fine. If I down someone I fake the pick up and often get a free hit.

I play both sides but a bit of logic can explain why killers would complain more. Just try to play killer for a while.
I play both but 80% of the time I side with killers because I feel they are the ones that get shafted most of the time.

According to one of the devs in another thread, it's still faster- 21 seconds for a self heal without a medkit. That means it's worth using over Self-Care since it's already faster without requiring a medkit, as well as providing that benefit to all your teammates.
It'll still be strong because it's infinite heals that can be set up away from the action, but it ought to be a little more balanced now.
That and it's literally aoe. One person needs to bring it and everyone benefits. SC only healed yourself.
Also if you bless a totem that's one less dull totem for noed.
This perk isn't dead like MoM.
-
We could have random tree's just snatch up people. Like in the Nicholas Cage movie of Lovecrafts color out of space :p
-
Freddy was given a complete rework. Literally. Im not talking a numbers tweek. The Freddy we got now is completely different than the one that released.
Is it harder to adjust a license character? Is there more hoops they have to jump through or can they just do it?

Old undying

I'm not the one to normally complain a lot in here, but I've been trying to complete the rift by attempting the killer challenges, but the fun is really REALLY being stripped off by the MANY Dead Hards in every single match.
I understand that the devs mentioned that they're looking into it, but goodness playing killer is so draining.
The amount of times I was able to pull off a nice mind game only for it to be denied by DH really is infuriating.
Killer mains out there now have my full respect.
I remember someones' suggestion a while back by either removing its distance or invulnerability and I think that was a pretty nice idea.
Their eyes have been opened.

Havent we had a thread like this for the last 3 or 4 chapters?

Im happy for the proposed changes but my copy of dbd will remain uninstalled. The other issues with the game far out weigh any incentive to come back.
CoH, mmr and hackers.

Then your business fails because you made a business where you cannot serve those 4 people if that 1 person doesn't show up. This line of thinking falls flat because the game flat out cannot be played if that 1 stops playing. You cannot play the game without a killer, hence 10+ minute waits.
"We" know that but I dont think bhvr knows that.

It just makes me sad if that's how they actually treat the killer playerbase.
It is. We are 1 out of 5. From a business stand point, no sane business would try to please the minority of their customers. They would ideally want to please the most they can.

Just love it that they just dropped another Dev-Notes full of Killer-Buffs and STILL people say that the Devs cater to Survivors.
Yikes³
The buffs are nice and appreciated but if they don't push the 2 killers into viable status then it changes nothing while coh is still a thing. It's a bone they threw at a hungry dog to keep him from starving but not to prosper. Just enough to keep PETA off bhvr's ass.
-
I like the idea of boons but i feel coh is too strong. The rest are okay or niche.

This amount of grind doesn't incentivize players to stay, it pushes newer ones away a lot
Anyway I don't expect anything from them. I don't care at all about the chances they're making, so this will be another update that will come and go as usual. All I care is a change to the grind, and they're not delivering so big yawn
I was hoping they would fix the healing meta so i could play killers besides nurse and blight. The game will sit in the uninstalled pile for awhile longer.

Lol, SB is way more than "just helps in the beginning of the chase".
Survivor can keep SB 90 or 99 in the middle of a chase and when the killer is close enough, they're gone again.
Also repairing gens in a dead zone SB can help you to get out of there, DH can't do nothing about that.
SB users can avoid 1 shot killers easily wasting their precious time and power.
If someone got to 99 a sb during a chase, the killer either screwed up or changed targets.

Perks bring surprise to a match, if Gates get regressed by default (I heard they tried and didnt like it), Blood warden is greatly in used since it will always work.
Same to basekit Noed, Survivors would just start a match silently check every corner for 5 totems before working on Gen, and there for Lethal pursuit will be Meta to counter it. Its likely forced players to play in an exact way.
Though Im still up for some perks basekit that remove tunneling, camping & gen rushing. Because thats what make the game unfun for both side. Gates not regressing doesnt make it unfun for Killer.
I do admit perks can change things up. As much as i love blood warden, most people know to 99 a gate. I dont like making perks basekit because the game is asymmetrical. 1 perk given to survivor for free is essentially 4 perks. While 1 given to the killer is still 1.

Imaging there is a perk that cause Gate regressing after 5sec not opening. That will bring alot of surprise...
Theres already more problems than perk slots. Perks dont solve a problem, just treat it. It needs to be flat out in the game.
-
They wont reduce the grind. They want you to stay. Forever and ever. If they do something that looks like a reduction im certain there will be something else to cancel it out. Something not in the patch notes.
A prime example of give with one hand and take with the other is destiny 2s launch. There was a limiter that kicked in after playing the game for like an hour. You kill some boss and get say 1000 exp but in actuality you only got 7 exp. Then when people noticed bungie removed it but also tripled the amount of exp needed to lvl up.

Sprint Burst is coming to get you more frustrated if they hard nerf DH. A good SB usage is way more efficient than DH. Be prepared.
Can't wait for the SB nerf threads. We all know killer mains forum strategy.
Nerf nerf nerf!!!
Ill gladly eat a sb over a dh. Sb just helps the beginning of the chase. Dh flat out increases the chase if used properly.
-
Now if only we can get this to apply to exit gates.
-
While some of these changes sound nice but it still feels like they glossed over the real issues. I dont expect more people to play killer after this ptb.

I didn't say anything about 2 million, but nice deflection as usual from yourself, lmao.
2 million was part of the post i asked. Its not deflecting, i was asking a legit question.
-
From my experience with ANY game that involves 2 sides going against one another. After dinner to late night is the worse time to play because thats when the try hards come out. The ones with no jobs and just play all the time. If i were still playing killer, id switch to survivor after 6pm to avoid that too.
-

He doesn't understand that the numbers we've seen are people in queue only and doesn't actually represent the player base as a whole
While were on the subject of numbers where did we get 2 million from? Are those active players or just people logging in for the daily reward and playing something else?
-
@Munqaxus said:
There are 2 million people playing DbD, I don't think there's a lack of killers or survivors.
I'm getting insta-queues on survivors and insta-queues on killers.
If theres 2 million people and only 10% of that is playing killer. Thats really bad if the numbers are true.
-
Honestly i hope bhvr keeps driving away killers. The fact it got this bad is baffling. I hope bhvr does some patch that screws things up so much, that they will have to literally overhaul the entire game to get killers to come back. All their "listen to the majority" decisions led to this. Let them reap what they have sown.

Unnerving presence.
Both perks are from the trapper. I think that's the idea they were shooting for. Very few killers benefit from an increased terror radius. Such as Doc. The increase speed can be pretty good just not good enough to take of a more meta perk.
-
1 is high risk, little reward. The other is no risk, little to high reward.
-
Survivors will stop playing. Theres plenty more of them to go around :p
-
Id leave her alone and rework the rest of the game.

Thats why it didn't survive because it was too difficult and unfair. The monster was way too overpowered in that game.
To be honest, playing solo in DBD feels like playing against the Tank (constantly) in L4D and he can't be killed.
Monsters were op in evolve and it is one of the reasons it died. Killers in dbd are not even close to that kind of power. Solo does suck. No argument there but if you have 4 solos that are average skill, they will likely succeed. If we balance around solo noobs, then the game breaks against actually skilled players. Which is what were dealing with now.
-
@Sluzzy said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2867065#Comment_2867065
The problem there is that it shouldn't require all 4 to play totally perfectly to have a chance to win. Killers can choose to tunnel someone out of the match and then it is unwinnable.
They desperately need to add multiple ways to escape because solo teams can't finish 5 gens. Not with a constant barrage of slowgen perks.
I played a lot of evolve. In that game, if 1 hunter screwed up it was a domino affect. Everyone died. Dbd is not nearly as bad as that. Cooperation is highly encouraged but not mandatory.
-
@Sluzzy said:
If the killer has a brain, survivor is unwinnable. Solo is the most disadvantaged way to play, therefore it makes it unenjoyable.
If the survivors have brains, killer is "almost" unwinnable. Definitely an uphill battle. No game should be balanced to only work if someone makes a mistake.
-
I think mmr only works if survivors arent in a long que. If they are mm bends over backwards for them because theyre the majority
-
I dont watch twitch but if i had to guess as to why we dont see many streamers playing killer. Its probably because playing killer right now really, really sucks.
