think I like to face them I hate facing Pinhead and I don't use meta perks as survivor other then spine chill.
I'll gladly face pinhead over a nurse, blight or a face camping bubba.

The more information we, the more evidence that shows how broken their system is. If they keep us in the dark they can deny any of our complaints. The politicians golden rule. "If they can't prove it. Deny. Deny. Deny."

think he was the killer facing meta survivors.
I was posting the question to everyone. The op is mixing up the meta by using slightly less top tier perks, a weaker killer and I was asking every survivor "would you rather have faced a nurse or blight?"
I should have explained myself better. My bad.
-
Would you rather have faced a Nurse or a Blight?
-
I want Ermac in DBD. Just so I can pick up survivors with my mind from a great distance and put them on the hooks. No injuring, no pallets, no DH. Just "You, there!"
-
It took us 4 years to get it to a balanced state. Don't touch it!
-
I dont know the last 4 new survivors/killer's perk icons because Ive been taking extensive breaks. Or I find their perks so garbage that I dont bother to unlock the characters.

I'm not even going to attempt to understand what you just said
I stole the line from a character in a game called Star Craft 2
-
They never accomplished anything in life. So they insult people they know they will never meet in person to give themselves a sense of superiority.

They don't interrupt saves but they will remain on the survivor after they are unhooked
This also applies to exit gate switches.
I think these are the only two interactions chains don't interrupt
I know they interrupt solving a box but I think bhvr is nerfing that soon.
-
While we're on the subject of pinhead. Do his chains interrupte hook rescues? I saw someone going for a save and I was too far. I chained them and without breaking any, they made the save.

I went through my Hoarder/Franklin's phase, but it feels like I'm putting all my eggs into one basket and if a sufficiently good survivor gets the box, I'm doomed.
These days I really like:
Discordance
Plaything
Pentimento
Pain Resonance
Can replace the Discordance with BBQ (for finding box) or DMS (the second I get a hunt, complete chaos).
I was running bamboozle for awhile to help cut down on chases when I miss chains. Also been experimenting with star struck. Very effective on over altruistic survivors :p

The box spawns as far as possible to all survivors and the killer
@ReverseVelocity said:
The Lament Configuration cannot spawn in an area 16m around the Survivors or 40m around the Killer. If you know roughly where the survivors are when it spawns, you can infer the location of the box.
@danielmaster87 said:
Otz did a video specifically about this. Basically, if you know where the survivors are spawned and where you're spawned, the box will be in some area that is ideally far from both of your positions, whether that's on the side or in some corner or whatnot.
So basically like how whispers works. You can get a direction and a general idea of where it could be.

Mm. I play a goodly amount of Cenobite and I've stopped trying to get the box first. I prefer to go and pressure someone early (I like Discordance for this reason) and to try and find the box after my first hook, generally using BBQ.
Far, far too many times I've gone after it early and by the time I found it, gens are flying.
I mostly use hoarder and Franklin's with range add ons. If someone tries to solve the box and I'm not too far away. Interrupt with a chain and chase them down. Unfortunately I just prestige my pinhead and the bloodweb has not been kind.

"It's not perfect, but 'perfect' is always the enemy of 'good' , and nostalgia is the arch-nemesis of 'better'."
Don't know where I stole this from, but I like it
I stole mine from a zerg geneticist from star craft 2 named Abathor :p

The game can never be 100% balanced, but it could be more balanced than it is now
Perfection is unattainable but there's no harm in trying.

I think the anniversary chapter is gonna be lore heavy which I think is great. I love the lore. I think the observer is gonna become a survivor and his killer something directly tied to the entity and Haddie is gonna be the new observer.
There are speculations that the observer is gonna be a new killer but... I still think he'll be a survivor. Regardless I'm intrigued.
As for the pattern idk. Haha
I too love the lore aspect of the game but I have a terrible feeling the 6th anniversary is going to be more login rewards -.-
-
This video doesn't really prove anything. Where did he get those numbers from? I would treat this like wikipedia. It's probably not true or exaggerated.
-
Depends on the definition of a good chase. If you mind gamed me, juke me, out smarted me then I consider that a good chase.
If you just ran from 1 god pallet to the next, like on The Game, then I do not consider you a skilled looper. I call it bad map design.
-
Woo because my routing sucks.
Blood warden because it is hilarious when they teabag at the exit gate and then realize they can't get out.
-
MYC. If you can find the person who made the rescue, it discourages tunneling but still yields pressure.
-
So many pallets are safe on this map. Why does the basement have 2 pallets next to the stairs? I had a match as pinhead today. It was horrible. 3 hooks and all gens are done. Gates are 99ed. I managed to down someone near the gate. I picked them up and the other 3 all played body block because the gate was right there and they were all healthy. I had star struck. I downed a 2nd, hooked the person I was carrying, found a 3rd hiding behind a box and the 4th guy was already injured and he tried to solve the box. Telling me where he was. I hooked 3 and there were no more hooks nearby so I let the 4th bleed out. Point is that match was going terrible and I only got kills because of over altruism.

Do you remember how much this perk was broken on SWF teams and BHVR did not nerf it for years. Because they said "OoO users are dying most times, this perk does not help them".
Just gold old days.
BHVR said it's hardly used because they failed to grasp only 1 person needs to equip it for the other 3 to benefit. The reason OoO users were dying is we had to kill that person so the other 3 wouldn't have a permanent UAV. Just proves how little they understand their own game.
@[Deleted User] said:
I can't believe it was ever a thing in the first place. And I can't believe it took so long to change.
I honestly think the reason it took them so long to change OoO and DS is because Laurie is tied to the Halloween DLC. Which is tied to Michael and that still sells. If those perks were on an original character that could be purchased with shards instead of real money. It would have been fixed sooner. Probably 3 years instead of 4 :P

But I mean, if you let it go to end game haven’t you already lost?
Ive turned a 0k into a 3-4k at EGC due to over altruism. Often involves people trying to body block when I have star struck or I manage to hook someone close to the end of the timer and Blood Warden activates. Always hilarious when that happens.

I agree with all except Pinhead and Artist.
Artist's repel time and cool-down perfectly balanced. If you use your crows smarter, you can get hit. She already so strong and makes survivor leave loop. She does not need more. Maybe add-on pass? Sure. But her base-kit alright.
And Pinhead nerfed for reason right? He destroyed solo survivors (he still does). Because Pinhead mains kept chain hunt forever with some add-ons and perks. Buff his chains but box is alright.
Id like to add that pinhead destroys "inexperienced" solo survivors. Ive had plenty of games with him where I only got 1k. Sometimes none. The survivors loaded into the lobby at different times so I assume they weren't any 4 man swfs.
-
I agreed with everything up until "for killers, you can always get your 4k..."
-
What is making killer not fun?
Bhvr
-
If the lobby showed there was a swf, every killer would lobby dodge. I wouldn't mind the game showing me it was a swf "after" the match ended.
-
This one's mine: once you acquire your prey, nothing stands in your way. When picking up a survivor you cannot be stunned, blinded or interrupted. Your movement pushes survivors out of your path to prevent body blocking.
Blockhead: one too many blows to the head has affected you. When pallet stunned let out a roar. All gens within 10/20/30 meters explode. (Combine with dead man's switch for maximum effectiveness)
Spoiled Sport: the entity despises show boating. Any and all survivors teabagging at the exit gate are teleported away from all exits and are rancored.
-
I was expecting some smart ass comment like
"What killer I noticed that needs fixing. All but nurse and blight" lol
-
I still use coh. It's a free team wide heal and it encourages survivors to find totems. Less bitching about noed.

I am interested in your thoughts on BT. I play 80% killer, and I didn't see it as on the level of dead hard
I too am interested because I remember old bt. When it applied to both. It made hook rescues safe for both survivors. Current bt im totally fine with. If someone unhooks in my face I just assume they brought bt and I trade with the rescuer.

Both are true

I can guarantee some modders can balance the game better than bhvr.

"in fact there is nothing competitive in it."
Dude, people get paid millions and make careers out of throwing a ball through a hoop, or hitting a tiny white ball with a club into a hole.
Gaming is considered an esport and by nature PVP gamers are HIGHLY COMPETITIVE
When humans go against each other doing ANYTHING, it is considered competitive.
Yes. This game isn't esports but it is competitive. There's 2 sides going against each other where one wins and the other loses. That is the definition of competitive.

One of the weird tricks I've found is that when I get annoyed at playing killer - I'll go and play a few rounds of solo queue survivor.
I don't know why, but it makes coming back to killer so much more pleasant.
That actually makes me hate the game even more because the randoms I get are idiots. Makes me ask "wait. When I play killer the survivors make zero mistakes but when I play survivor I get the noobs? Why can't I get these people when I play killer?"
-
There's so many survivors that if an overhaul were to balance the game but drive half of them away. The game will still be in a better state.
-
Is this reverse psychology?
-
I've played games in the past where someone quit and they were replaced by a bot. While it was better than nothing but not by much. If someone quit it was still game over.

No, just that generic survivors are unbelievably bad.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2885586#Comment_2885586
Basically, most of swfs already don't know what they are doing, and of course 99% of solo qs don't know what they are doing.
Skill issue.
This.
Anytime I see a thread about someone complaining "I lost to <insert killer>. This is unfun and needs a nerf!". My first question is "Did you ever stop to think you just suck at the game?". That usually eliminates 9 out of 10 complaint threads. That's why Im glad bhvr hardly ever looks at this forum. Too many whiners who just want to win instead of actual game balance.
-
I got another one. I prestiged a survivor and had very few perks. I brought distraction. A friend was looping Billy around the shack. I threw a pebble at the nearby cow tree. Billy went to the tree and lost sight of my friend.
-
I had a trapper match on crotus pen. Horrible match. Few hooks, gates open, everyone is healthy. I chase a Meg out of the exit gate. I plant a trap right around the entrance. I find 2 other people at the other gate. They're butt dancing and I chase them out. There's a Leon that's looking for hatch. I find and hit him. He runs to the exit gate, knowing full well I can't catch up to him. He butt dances and even passes away his dh because he knows he's going to escape. He turns the corner and steps in the trap I set when I chased out the Meg. It was poetic. There's some sick satisfaction when douchebags get what they deserve. You won, you don't have to rub my nose in it. Leave already so we can start the next match.

John Carpenter's The Thing. Original not the prequel
Event Horizon
Sphere
-
Honestly I think this hacker infestation is a good thing. Either bhvr fixes the issue and the game improves or they don't and the game dies. Appreciate your customers or find another job.
-
I'm convinced most of the people on this forum don't play killer.
-
I think it has more to do with victims of strategy guides. Most players either watch a streamer or look up what's considered the best. Instead of using the stuff and finding out themselves. So if something goes under the radar, the mass opinion is "if everyone isn't using it, than it must be weak".

then most killers would dodge SWF is the dev cashcow.
I wouldnt mind showing me it's a swf "after" the match. That way if I get destroyed I'll feel better knowing I was up against a group.

This really needs to be a priority.
Even if it takes time to develop and tweak to make sure it launches without as many bugs... I'd like to see it on a roadmap.
I think BHVR has learned over the years that providing a road map is bad. When something happens and you can't release content on the date it was announced, the fan base then gets angry. If you don't promise a date then they can't get angry when you have to push it back.
