  • It improves the rarity of items, add-ons, and offerings in the bloodweb for each prestige level. The effect is slight, but noticeable when you compare a P3-50 against a P0-50.
  • I don't really like the idea of having 1:1 regression. MAYBE 0.5:1 would be ok.

In terms of tapping a gen to stop regression, I think we should used failed skill checks as an example. A failed skill check stops progress for 3 seconds, so it should take 3 seconds of repair to stop gen regression.

During those 3 seconds of repair you can still get skill checks, but the gen does not regress further. If you stop before the 3 seconds are up, the gen begins regressing again.

Going further, give Ruin, Lullaby, and Overcharge extra time for this requirement. Say 0/1/2 extra seconds on failed skill checks and to stop gen regression. I don't think this bonus time should stack, though. 9 seconds of repair just to stop regression would be annoying and unfun.
  • Not a clue, I've never heard the term. Some context might help figure it out though.
  • I have no problems pipping as a survivor. As long as I'm not caught first and camped/tunnelled to death, I usually pip. Of course, I pip by doing 2 gens, getting a safe hook rescue, dodging the killer a bit, and trying to stay alive for at least 9 minutes.

As for the "good players" who take aggro the whole game, they should have a harder time pipping. After all, they're only focusing on 1/4 of the objectives. Well, 1/2 of the objectives, since I guess they're trying to escape as well.

They're also making it harder for others to pip. If the killer is only chasing one person the whole game, everyone else has to rely on passive gains from the TR in Evader, and they're less likely to get Benevolent as well. This means they have to make up for it by doing more gens, which are contested by the other survivors.

Quite often I'll intentionally try to take aggro away from the "good player" so I can get at least Bronze or Silver Evader.

Have you tried playing with Freddy? Flashlights can´t do much to him, unless the flashlight users are in the dreamworld. Freddy is weaker than Billy, but since no one uses him on high rank, survivors don´t know how to react to him.

I understand where you are coming from, but Freddy is just far to weak ( right now at least ) to to much of anything. Tbh even if freddy would have helped the flashlight situation, it would have made the looping situation worse

Freddy's well payed at high ranks those in 5-1 are disgusting and get 4 sac's every game, the same is true for good Hags.

What? please provide footage of that, I want to learn how to be such a good hag

Go to YouTube and look up Space Coconut, Spectrobyss, Croquedead, there are a few others. Space Coconut has a (slightly outdated) hag guide followed by a video of every match he played to get rank one, even the losses.

  • OMG her boobies jiggle! That's unacceptable!

Meanwhile, The Hag's right tit has been hanging out for almost 2 years.
  • I LOL'ed. You can escape her, you can loop her, you can fool her just by turning around and running over your own scratch marks when she phases. She's mid-tier, maybe high mid-tier.

She has to manually break 2 pallets before she auto-breaks 1. Nice but not OP, and it almost requires using 2 perk slots.

Hexes needed a buff and they got a weak bandaid instead. You can still cleanse Ruin, you just risk her one-shotting 1 or 2 survivors if you pick the wrong totem.

The obsession perk allows the obsession to see you after every gen completion and only allows you to one-shot a SINGLE survivor in the endgame. It's basically 25% of NOED combined with an crappy version of Bitter Murmur and an Ivory Mori that only works on one specific character.

    Some survivors aren't the brightest.

You stop using your brain to play a game if the game doesnt require a brain to be played.
Surprisingly ive noticed that trend too since I started playing survivor more frequently^^

You never miss a chance to bash on SWFs, right? xD

Eh, that's not really a jab against SWF, it's more against survivors in general. I run Bond/Empathy/Kindred a lot, and I've seen some truly idiotic plays from solo survivors and SWFs.

I've watched someone try to YOLO save me from a camping Leatherface at full chainsaw rev... while I was running KINDRED.

I've looped a killer for nearly 2 minutes, then sat on the hook and watched all 3 other survivors creep around the hook the whole 2 minutes while the killer watched my crotch., then died with 1 gen done.

I watched other survivors run to the hook while you can hear the killer hitting the hooked person over and over again.

I've unhooked people with BT and watched then run straight toward the killer even though they JUST saw him walk that way.

A LOT of survivors are just dumb.

As survivor I refuse to play if I see a consistent 150+ or an inconsistent 200+ ping because at least in my experience, it's really frustrating to play against. Maybe I don't play for half an hour but I'd rather that than playing and having it be terribly laggy.

ping spikes in the lobby could be the killer checking profiles.

Yep. Checking profiles or even changing your loadout can cause a minor spike in ping.

Anything up to 250 is playable, IMO. Though if it spikes back and forth from yellow to red regularly for more than 20 seconds, I'll usually bow out.
  • I should clarify... The mangled effect from Sloppy will override the mangled effect from Rusted Jaws. It will stack with trapper add-ons that cause other effects like the Serrated Jaws.

Also, I'm fairly certain the traps won't apply the mangled effect from Sloppy Butcher. So the Rusted Jaws effect will take place if they are trapped, to be replaced by the Sloppy Butcher effect if they are hit. Sloppy 3 is "Considerably" while Rusted is "Moderately". A trapper main could probably clarify that better, though.
  • I've had a few games where I was on another killer going for rituals or something, only to see a known troll pop into my lobby. That's when I switch to Hag with meta build, best add-ons, and a mori.

My favourite is when someone who sandbagged/farmed me in a survivor match shows up in my killer lobby.
  • Do what you want. There's nothing wrong with giving the hatch away, unless you're telling people to expect it from everyone.

I usually go after the last person intending to kill them, but if they reach the hatch I just hit them and let them go through. I'm not going to waste my time on a hatch standoff, and slugging the third while I hunt for the fourth is also boring to me.

OTOH, If I think the last survivor got a raw deal (only decent player on a bad team, got sandbagged/farmed) I'll actively give them the hatch.

We are not forced to go on the PTB. Most people will just watch a streamer do it. Watching someone who has no idea how the new killer is supposed to be played btw...
    Not really the best strategy.

Why would we be forced, seriously ? All I'm saying is there might be a lot of people on tuesday, wanting to play in the PTB, just to see what the new stuff is ... and directly experience it. Why would they not ? Are PTB so toxic that it might be better to watch a video of it than to actually playing it ?

It's not that the PTBs are toxic, but some folks either just can't do it or it's far less enjoyable. Console players obviously, but there's also PC players who have difficulties.

Me, for example. I play late night EDT hours (after midnight). Normally, I play for about 2 hours before I start to get mostly red ping and long lobbies. During a PTB, the playerbase is split. It doesnt matter whether I'm on the PTB or the Live version, long queues and higher pings are normal.

I usually download the PTB and get in a few games, then stop playing altogether until the PTB is done. The last PTB, I played one Hag game that took almost 30 minutes to get a full lobby, then went and played Stellaris until the PTB was over.

So Mathieu asked us to provide feedback regarding the stream:

    • please consider showing high rank gameplay. Highest killer was Horvath with rank 14 and survivors played around rank 18-20 with Janick failing every gen skill check there was (achievement unlocked). The game experience is completely different on high ranks!
    • that being said, i really enjoyed watching the devs play and hope you repeat this on a more regular base (but please on higher ranks)
    • pretty pretty please, do a proper killer/survivor/perk/map reveal before the PTB. Don´t keep us in the dark until the PTB. This has been in mistake in the past (the pig) and you are repeating it. So please, do a proper reveal instead of just releasing the PTB.

Imagine if they showed high rank gameplay, ofc they can hack themselves to rank 1, but we see what happened at the asian event with cote, obviously they dont want to be bullied

Also the fps were so bad.... no words

First off, Tsulan is right, the Devs played horribly and if that is their gameexperience, I totally get why they are balancing the game around rank 20 noobs.

And the FPS had been so bad, I could only watch it half way through, because I got a headache from it.

But I would had enjoyed to watch Pat more.^^

I had the same problem with the FPS.

I wouldn't mind seeing more events like this, but I'd prefer higher ranks and they really need to smooth out the FPS and balance the volume better.

It really did seem like it was thrown together at the last moment, TBH.
  • The mangled effect won't stack.

    Yes. It's now balanced.

An ultra rare addon which has been nerfed down to 25% progress? that's why some killer main's balance ideas aren't being taken seriously.

    Killer main balance idea?

The devs said "hey, we're going to do this", and everyone on the forums collectively went "hm, that was random". Killers had wanted a nerf, but I don't recall anyone on the forums suggesting the current version of the BNP.

  • You're definitely coming at this from the right direction. As @Spiritbx stated though, in higher ranks most of the players are good runners. Sometimes you will have to just commit to the chase.

You and your friends have exactly the right response to camping. Punish the killer by making sure he only gets one kill.

As for the "why should I care?" question, you shouldn't. Ignore the other side's version of the rules, and play the way that is most rewarding to you. Me, I like to punish farming and selling other people out by going after the offender. Others might just take the free hit/hook. Play how you like.

I will give one benefit to allowing unhooks, though. If you're good enough; if you get more chases, more hits, and more hooks, you get more points. Sometimes camping is the right move, sometimes patrolling, and sometimes just moving on to the next target.
  • When you prestige, all your add-ons, items and offerings are wiped, along with all your perks. But you get a bloody cosmetic to start over from lvl 1 on the character.

    Thats pretty #########.
Before I prestige, I use all of the BP offerings and use or give away all of the items & add-ons. Quite a few people have been very pleased to get a green or purple item from me.

In addition to the cosmetic, prestiging gives you a small boost to the rarity of items/add-ons/offerings in future bloodwebs.
  • That or more unique sounds instead of the same explosion sound for basically everything.

I'm definitely more in favour of unique sounds. The visual tells you WHERE to look, the sound should tell you WHY.
  • Nope. They will stay in your inventory until you prestige, or until the devs decide to re-use them.
  • BigAsh123 said:

To be honest, I found the survivor chops easier to get, but still got the cocktail machines. I am very casual, and thought 90 was a bit steep, but hey, got a load of BP! :)

Yeah, I got the hammer in 2 days of casual playing. The Kate "dress" took more than twice that time.

I think part of the reason was I did the survivor side late in the event, so a lot of survivors didn't care about doing the event gens. There were a few games with only one non-event gen, and that gen was often among the first finished.
  • I'll just ignore the rudeness, since others have covered that pretty well.

Instead, here's a tip. If you want a specific perk to show up, be careful what you buy in the bloodweb. It's better to upgrade an existing perk than buy a new one that you don't want at T1. If you have a choice between Unrelenting 3 and BBQ 1, pick Unrelenting 3. That will remove Unrelenting from the pool of possible perks in the Bloodweb. Fewer possible perks means a greater chance the one you want will show up.

Even if it's a choice between a T1 perk and a T2 perk, choose the T2. That is just one more step toward removing that perk from the pool.
  • As a side note, some of the best perks to use on Myers come from other killers. Monitor & Abuse from The Doctor is probably the #1 perk on Myers, and Ruin from The Hag is very helpful as well.
  • You don't need to play as other killers. You can get their teachable perks from the Shrine or by leveling them up with BP you earn on Mikey. You should try them out, though. A lot of the killers are very fun to play.

Camping works sometimes, but only because survivors are too altruistic. The higher you get in ranks the less it will work. You will also get more BP if you hunt down others after hooking. It will also generate a lot of salt from survivors. That being said, sometimes camping can be the best move.
  • Assuming it works the same as previous events...

They won't spawn in new bloodwebs after the event, and the ones you have already purchased will be greyed out and unusable. Purchased offerings will remain in your inventory until you prestige.
  • The bull discussion does sound interesting.

As for the teabaggers, that's what they WANT you to do. They're TRYING to make you see red. They want to mock you in the after-game chat, and that's just handing them ammunition.
  • Grey87 said:

You get more than a bloody piece of clothing or weapon. Prestiging increases the chance that the more rare items, offerings, and add-ons will appear in your bloodweb.

A very small and unnoticeable chance. Not worth to prestige for that.

I disagree. I see a significant difference in the items on my one P3 character. That character has fewer brown items and more yellow/green items. It's not noticeable with the purple items, but a fair amount of what would have been common items become uncommon or rare at P3.

Your mileage may vary of course, but it's worth it to me.

How the [BAD WORD] did a "camper" kill 2 survivors before you and you only did 4 gens only?

    I smell ######### tho

    Simple.

Survivor 1 is hooked, survivor 2 and 3 hover around the hook while survivor 4 does gens.

Survivor 2 is hooked, survivor 3 hovers around the hook while survivor 4 does gens.

Survivor 3 is hooked, survivor 4 walks around the map looking for hatch.

Survivor 3 dies on the hook, and the only survivor who did the correct thing to counter camping escapes through the hatch.

But then clearly camping worked or am i tripping?

Also aint that the survivor's fault as well?.

Camping works because the survivors choose to reward it.

It works, i've given many items to my friends, but addons CAN'T be transfered, they only get the item
Not accurate, unless they've changed it very recently. I've picked up a toolbox from under a hook that had a BNP on it, and i used that BNP in my next game.
  • When I get toward the end, I "gen tap" the hook for the last few percent.
  • I just point in the direction of the killer. Usually works, though sometimes they decide to run in the direction you're pointing..

  • Don't get caught.

If you do get caught, don't die on the hook immediately. Make him wait the full 2 minutes.

If you don't get caught, do gens.

I didn't camp tho. Standing at 50 meters distance and patrolling isn't camping xD.

Might have killed them too fast. I know its dumb. Did you hook all 3 3 times each or did their friends let them die on the hook? Because that takes away some chase and hook points for you. And the game punishes you for the other side being bad. >.>

I suggest reading up on how each emblem gets points, then try to work around that. Kinda dumb but w/e devs dont play their own game.

Oh I know how the emblems work and I've read them. They let the surv die. But I lose points that way and I lose points if they unhook him xD The system is against the killer in every aspect.

Actually, you have a chance to GAIN Emblem points if they unhook. Assuming 2 chases of 30-44 seconds and 2 hits with no unhooks, a Sacrifice gives you 25% of Iridescent Devout, 27% of Iridescent Malicious, and 12% of Iridescent Chaser.

Letting them be unhooked can *possibly* cost you 25% Devout and up to 14% Malicious (2 hook stages), but stands a decent chance of returning those points while also giving you another 7% Malicious (2 hits) and another 12% Chaser.

When you consider that the likelihood of you not pipping increases every time a survivor gets one-hooked, it's not even a gamble. You *will* lose if they all get one-hooked, but letting them get unhooked means you *might* lose. I've had games where I've pipped without sacrificing anyone. I've also had games where I've safety pipped when sacrificing everyone.

Unfortunately, Myers and the Chainsaw Boys (new band name!) have some handicaps with this system, and i feel the devs need to address these problems. Grabbing someone off a generator costs you all of the Malicious and Chaser points you could have gotten from chasing them and hitting them twice. Similarly, chainsawing or EW3'ing someone down mid-chase costs you half of those points and a surprise chainsaw/EW3 with no chase costs the other half of the Chaser points.
