Eh, with the sheer number of aura-reading and location-revealing perks/powers in the game I never just assume wallhacks.
Rancor, Bitter Murmur, BBQ, Doc illusions, Spies from the Shadows, Retribution, Myers/Wraith/Pig addons, Feral Frenzy, others I can't remember offhand.

Thanks for the tips and yeah I do not think he is OP but certainly is up there in my fear of killers. He is at this point one of the killers that even someone that is bad at playing killer will be good with. I liked him before the rework and constant updates and now he is scarier then that last two new killers that came out. lol
I do hope you are right that when you snap out of it you go to madness 1 but I do think it just takes you down to 2. I feel like when I snap out of it he can zap me once or twice and I am already INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE! lol
I do know in the update it says this, "One last thing we've addressed is the frustration of using Snap Out Of It to drop from Madness level III to Madness level II. After the update, missing a skill check during Snap Out Of It will cost the player 25% of their progress instead of resetting it entirely. Also, if they stop the interaction before it's complete, they will not lose their progress and will continue from where they left off on the next attempt. ".
I am guessing this just is summed up as saying you no longer lose all your progression for snapping out of it BUT when you do finally snap out of it you only go as far as madness II(2). I think sadly because it will not go down slowly after that it will
Well thanks again for being kind and getting back to me and I hope you continue to stay healthy and have good games. =) Long Distance Hug and pat on the bottom! GOOD GAME! rofl
You absolutely do go down to Madness 1 when you Snap Out Of It. You can see the debuff icon on the right go from 3 chevrons to 1 chevron. You also lose any negative add-on effects the require T2 madness, though the add-on difference is only noticeable with Calm and Discipline.

@Lexilogo he wasn't going for the achievement as he proceeded to invite me to a party and said "you should've expected me to have this setup" so he was just running it to run it.
After 3 gens worth of him stalking and not hitting anyone? Yeah, you SHOULD have expected at the very LEAST the Fragrant Tuft of Hair.
I see at least 3 survivors who did very little in that game. At least 2 of those did practically nothing. 3k and 5k points? Also, why not show the ranks?
This is obviously a survivor skill/awareness issue. Did you just do gens while he was stalking you? Did anyone try to distract him? Were you even aware of when he was stalking you? Why did it take so long to only do 3 gens?
I've gone against this build several times, and in most of those matches the killer hasn't even hit EW3 until we're on the last gen, if then. Head on a swivel, block line of sight, distract while others do gens... this is pretty basic stuff.
-
Sanctum of Wrath is my least favourite map by far, because of its issues. It's so dark I sometimes can't even see the survivor I'm playing, let alone the survivor I'm hunting for.
Sure, turn the graphics to Low... Then when I get Saloon for the next map I have to turn the graphics back to Ultra or I'll have the same problem. Every map should be fully playable on every graphic preset.
And that's not even mentioning the Nurse problems on Wrath. There are numerous walls on Wrath that completely block blinks. Even a fully-charged blink while you're pressed up at the wall won't go through.

After playing her for a decent amount of time, she seems completely balanced, imo.
I mostly agree, but then I look at the purple/red addons. The brown/yellow/green addons are well-balanced, and I usually run insect + egg. The purple/red addons... aside from memeing, you won't see them used by an experienced player (except maybe shackles for some builds).
Scarred Hand/Waterlogged Shoe - increase the Hag's movement speed to 115% with these addons. If she can't teleport or range-attack, she shouldn't be slow.
Grandma's Heart - Instead of reducing the terror radius to 0 when triggered, give her the Undetectable status. This would remove the red stain, might help with mindgames. Still very niche though.
Disfigured Ear - Maybe add the visual distortion from the Afterpiece Tonic. Something to make it more disorienting, at least. As it is right now, I run through a trap and just wonder why she's using that addon.
Mint Rag - The power level is fine, but it's way too easy to mis-teleport. I have no idea how to fix that, but it's a problem even experienced Hag streamers have.
-
Every time anyone mentions Mikey, some survivor brings up infinite EW3. Against a decent group, you MIGHT get infinite EW3 just as the last gen is done.
If your group just holds W, doesn't try to block LoS, and lets him stalk you on a gen, well... git gud.

With Ace in the Hole keeping add-ons now though, and the add-on that lets you keep the key when you go through the hatch, what happens? Does Ace in the Hole basically make add-ons work as they do now?
By the wording of the addon, it should be consumed even with Ace in the Hole.
"Do not lose the Key when unlocking the Hatch, lose this Add-on instead."
Currently, when you use a key to open the hatch you get the "item lost" sound effect as soon as the hatch opens (before you escape the match). If you have the Milky Glass addon, you can see the addon disappear from your UI as you jump into the hatch (again, before you have escaped).
As I understand it, the changes to Ace in the Hole mean you keep any add-ons that you have when you escape. Instaheal, BNP, and Milky Glass addons disappear as soon as they are consumed, so they shouldn't be preserved by AitH.
Of course, this is speculation on my part.
-
@Keezo He's talking about the tombstone addons, not the base instadown.
@Sunbreaker7 It's a Very Rare and Ultra Rare add on that allows this. Both add-ons greatly increase the time required to reach Evil 3. There are ways to get around it. Hiding while he's in Evil 3 is the best way, but you can also jump in a locker (which will make him grab you instead of kill you).
-
Left Behind is a Bill perk. You don't even have to buy a DLC to get it, just level Bill up to 30. Anyone who plays Survivor should want to level Bill for Borrowed Time anyway.

Really? I've played with him now for some time and he does not feel any faster than any other 115% killer. No idea what would cause you to think he moves faster.
However, I do think he might actually be the next viable killer in the game. Even without old Ruin. He's just so good and so fun to play as.
I agree he's no faster. I think it's a perception change since he doesn't have to be slower to use the shock. I noticed last night that survivors were trying for an extra loop as though I was moving at 110 speed. It allowed me to get extra hits in loops when I really shouldn't have.

I noticed this too yesterday as killer. It felt like all my hits kept missing for no reason. I thought it was just because I was trying out Huntress.
Same here, and the aim assist/autoaim seems odd. In one game I was trying to hit a Survivor who was opening a chest. On the first try hit the left hand corner of the chest. On the second try I hit the right hand corner of the chest.
I don't know if it was Doctor specific or if I adjusted to it after a few games. I had trouble with it for the first few games I played last night, and I played doctor in those games. After three or four games I switched to Pig, and didn't have the issue. That may be because I had adjusted to it, not because I switched killers.
-
Actually, i have the same problem on both sides. Tunnel vision.
I decide I'm going to go check on THAT gen, and I'm so focused on it I don't even see the survivor hiding in the bushes halfway there.
Or I keep going back to the same gen every time the killer kicks it, even though I know he'll be coming back to check on it again. This is also stubbornness, of course.
Or I decide I'm going to take a hit and run to THAT loop, not even noticing the closer loop that could have prevented that first hit.
-
I like running Quick & Quiet, Lithe, Dance With Me, and Spine Chill.
With good situational awareness and map knowledge, I'm usually completely hidden with no scratch marks by the time the killer reaches the Gen I was on. Even if they do see me, I've got enough of a head start for a good, long chase.
I try to use at least one perk from the Survivor I'm currently playing. That forces me change things up a bit for each Survivor. It also means that quite often I'm not playing a meta build.

This would make using any other perk pointless, there would never be any reason not to run if because the game would never speed up until you killed someone, you could if you were a good killer, just toy with survivors, you also have to look at this with pop, 300% gen slow down, you get a hook, and get to regress a generator by 25%
Pop doesnt work with Ruin anymore. You can't kick a regressing gen.
It's not 300% slowdown. A survivor who stays on the gen still finishes it in 80 seconds. If you chase them away and it's 20 seconds before someone goes back on the gen, they make up for that regression in 15 seconds.
This doesn't even fix the map problem. I had another match yesterday where a gen was finished before I even reached it. I was still a tile away when the gen popped and I saw 3 survivors scatter like cockroaches.
-
I posted an idea in another thread, so I'll bring it back here.
Ruin starts with three tokens. Every time a Survivor is sacrificed, remove one token. 3 tokens equals 300% regression. 2 tokens is 200% regression , 1 is 100%, and at 0 tokens the perk deactivates.
I know 300% sounds like a lot, but with 4 survivors alive at least one of is them going to stay on a generator until it's completed. If they never leave the generator, ruin doesn't affect them.

I honestly actually am not even close to understanding how on earth anyone on the dev team can think it's somewhat balanced or logical to have in the same game with the same mechanics some maps being close to twice the size of others.
I had a game this past weekend on the Huntress' map. I spawned in the shack and headed straight for the most likely survivor spawn point. Along the way, I dropped three traps (travel path, main house window, pallet).
Ruin was gone before I reached the main building. The gen I was heading for was finished while I was still 2 tiles away. I downed one of the survivors that had been working on that gen in under 30 seconds. A second gen popped while i was picking him up.
That's 40% of the survivors' goals completed in 1.5 minutes. New Ruin wouldn't have helped either, for 2 reasons: 1) a survivor obviously spawned right on top of the totem, and 2) none of those survivors stopped working on gens, so it wouldn't have caused regression anyway.
I guess I'm just going to have to level up Plague for CI.
Edit: I don't even LIKE Ruin, but I guess I'm just not the amazing unbeatable monster that some of you claim to be.

I don't understand how much times people have messaged killers on this forum. I rarely get messages from them and I Play at Red ranks. You guys must be doing something. 🤔
I've had a survivor search through my posts on Steam until they found a review I'd forgotten to disable replies on. They posted a reply to my ARK: Survival Evolved review to call me a coward for having a private profile and a bunch of other names for an after-game chat in which I said Spirit wasn't OP.
The kicker? I wasn't even the Spirit in that match; I was one of the other survivors. I wonder what kind of message they sent that Spirit player...

Not all SWF!
One of my friends calls me "The Mr Rogers of DBD", because I'll actually compliment the killer on good plays as he's ripping me a new one.

Last night I spectated a match after I died with 1 gen left. The guy i was SWFed with ran the killer for a good 3 minutes while the solo was walking around the map looking for the hatch. Both of us in the SWF ended the match with max Boldness. I had max Objective, he had max Altruism, and we both pipped with around 22kbp. The solo died with around 10kbp and complained about how "this team sucked" in the after game chat.

I might call it "chest thumping" if someone is insinuating NEVER healing, but in this case...theres just so many better options. Like you said, inner strength is GREAT. I used that for abit myself when it first came out. Typically though I stick to bond since it has alot of uses, not JUST for healing.
Bond is one of my favourite perks in solo queue, and IMO it's far better than self care for getting yourself healed. I only leveled Nancy far enough to get her Adept achievement. I really should try to use inner strength and see how well it works for me.
-
Matchmaking times really screwed me on the rift. Waiting in queue for 10+ minutes between matches makes for a boring stream, so I've been playing a lot more custom matches just to keep the action going. I'm around level 45 on the rift, even though I've been playing 20+ hours a week since it opened.
I bought this Rift pass, but I probably won't buy the next one. I don't make enough money streaming to have dbd be my full-time job, and I like to play other games too.
-
Since the nerf I think I've gone against a nurse maybe 5 or 6 times total in ranked matches, and I've escaped every time. Before the nerf, I had about a 50/50 escape chance against a good non-omega nurse.
Juking a non-omega pre-nerf nurse was not impossible. I could do it semi-reliably, and I normally only reach rank 6 before reset. Post-nerf, I'm not concerned in the least when I hear the nurse scream. As someone else said, I know it will be an easier-than-average game.
There's really only one fix needed to make nurse fun again (for both sides). They need to revert the basekit nerfs and keep the add-on changes. (Change the add-ons that affect recharge time, of course.)

This.
I think the movement of no self-care was more in the context 'how you should play if you think you're a leet player'.
As a side example:
I was in a game where the killer was good, could chase and hook no issue, and ended up finishing with 20k+ end game.
End game chat one of the survivors started lecturing the killer, about how during end game the killer should have camped more and claimed the kill because gennies were done etc etc.
Killer was like no, I don't want to play like that. But this survivor couldn't let it go, he would just start saying 'well at upper tiers good killers will blah blah', 'So if you want to be higher ranked killer you have to blah blah'. I ended telling this guy to be quiet and let the killer play how he wanted to play.
This idea of no self-care is the same kind of thing. Sure in some situations its better not to heal and get a gennie done, but I've been in games having to run from one hook to the next because my team kept getting 'one shotted' because they refused to heal.
Eh, I stopped using SC after the last nerf. It just takes too damn long, especially if the killer is using any heal slowdown perks. Even without bond or empathy, it's usually not too hard to find someone to heal you.
While I won't fault anyone for using whatever build they like, I was getting really annoyed at one group this weekend... self-caring against a legion with thana and sloppy. At one point with Empathy I saw someone start healing on the other side of the map. I started working on a gen that was less than halfway done. I finished before they did.

Why do people insist on walking everywhere with Sprint burst? That makes your game so inefficient. Give yourself a few games using it but running everywhere as you normally do, you’ll be surprised how often it’s actually ready again by the time you need it.
Get to a gen, work on it a bit and when the killer comes it’ll be ready.
I've tried it. Maybe it's just my luck, but I'd say better than half the time Sprint Burst isn't up when I need it unless I walk around.

I agree 100%. Even when i'm tilted af, i never dced.
I DC'ed last night, after my bleed out bar was more than halfway gone from being repeatedly slugged by a huntress. Not so much tilted as just done with that game. That was my third DC this year, so I don't do it often.
I'm perfectly willing to play against Iri hatchets as long as the killer is actually playing the game, but spending more than 2 minutes slugged? Every time someone picked me up I was immediately smacked back down, same with the other slug in the group. All four of us DCed.
Edit to Clarify: I'm in favour of DC penalties, as long as they fix any game crash issues.
-
Unfortunately, i usually end up running DS & Unbreakable. As long as I'm using them I almost never get tunneled/slugged, but every time I take them off to try a different build I wish I had them.
Spine Chill is great against stealth killers, and Ghostface is pretty popular right now.
Of the exhaustion perks, I prefer Dead Hard if I have it on the character. Sprint Burst is my last choice, because I hate being forced to walk everywhere.
I have had some success with Lithe, Dance with Me, and Quick & Quiet. It's a very different playstyle from looping, though. It can be quite satisfying to vault a window and vanish behind a rock before the killer even sees you. However, if you get caught out you're vulnerable to being either slugged or tunneled.
When I can fit it in, I love We'll Make It.
-
Hag - All about the strategy. Shutting down loops, predicting survivor movement, faking people out. The best feeling in the game is when they throw down a pallet, set off a trap, and then vault back into your arms.
Doctor - I'm just going to quote SnakeSound222... "ZZZZZAP!!! HEHEHEHE!!! ZZZZZAP!!! HEHEHEHE!!!"
Pig - I actually prefer the crouching/stealth over the traps. I need to start playing Ghostface to see if he would be more fun. Crouching Piggie, Hidden Ghostface.

Its not the temple alone. Random rocks and structures around the entire map are affected by this.
This. I've been blocked by jungle gym walls and rocks when I'm pushed up against them with a full blink charged. I've actually DC'ed from a frickin CUSTOM GAME match with friends I got so frustrated. I have less trouble with blinking around the temple than I do with the random junk scattered around the map. I suppose I could go back and highlight a match to prove it, but it would include some REALLY salty commentary.
-
This may be anecdotal, but I've noticed that it only happens if I let go of the gen at the same time I'm trying to sprint away. If I let go of the gen and wait until the character is standing before I move, no problems.

M1 killer with 110% mov speed, has teleports but by the time you teleport to a triggered trap (if it's triggered at all) the survivor has quite a head start and the chase lasts FOREVER with this movement speed.
The only viable playstyle I've worked out is.. camping for a 1-2k game. Against SWF, no chance.
This is absolutely the worst killer I've played so far, even Trapper is much more useful.
Anyone got any strategies for the Hag that don't involve camping and might be viable against SWF? They can loop me nearly forever with this mov speed. Only solo players fall for the traps.

"Hey, injured survivor! Just so you know, if this guy gets a skillcheck it's going to take even longer for him to heal you!"
Probably not a good idea. It's hard enough to keep them from running away the first time they see that progress bar go down.
Definitely in favour of putting a slightly/moderately/tremendously increase in skillcheck chance on there, though.

Don’t know if you’re a killer who says this but what about the “Keep crying survivors just use Unbreakable if you want to stop slugging” argument? I’m making up for the flaw of the unbreakable strategy by also taking DS so if you do tunnel me either way I get away. Also Dead Hard is such a stupid funny perk that I can’t help to use it sometimes.
Did you even read what I posted? Here, I'll repeat the relevant portion: "I often use DS and Unbreakable together." I often use Dead Hard as well, though the dedicated server issues have made me prefer Lithe of late. Lately I've been running DS/Unbreakable/BT/Dead Hard. Sometimes I'll switch one of those out for Spine Chill, if I'm seeing a lot of stealth killers.
In other words, I use pretty much the same build youre talking about. The point of my "this" was that I generally have more fun in games where i don't have to consume either DS or UB. I am usually happy with a game if the only perk I actually use is Dead Hard. Your point seems to be "I run DS and UB specifically to troll the killer".
No, I'm not a killer main. I do play a fair amount of killer, but I'd say I play at least 2-3 survivor games for each killer game I play. When I play killer, I only slug if I see someone nearby that I think I can get a hit on, and I dont leave them slugged for long. I almost always go for the unhooker if I'm nearby when someone is unhooked. In fact, I've thrown games by refusing to tunnel.

This. I often use DS and Unbreakable together, but I'm quite happy when I don't get a "chance" to use them in a match. A match where neither DS nor UB gets used is usually a fun match even if I die.

Your DS vs NOED comparison is interesting because of the history there which I'll get to, but first.
The devs AFTER YEARS of nerfing survivor are FINALLY pushing back on killers because of their unit of metric: 2 escaped/2 dead survivors. This metric however, is only applied to top tier games and really doesn't show how bad it is in low ranks. Low ranks is a trainwreck and new survivors are getting destroyed for 5kBP or less sometimes, repeatedly. 4k's are regular.
Anyways, what I like about your take on noed is that it has been an issue SINCE RELEASE. Back then however it was Sprint Burst vs NOED comparisons. SB received multiple nerfs and is to date a mediocre perk, not bad, but not even comparable to what it was. NOED on the other hand is still considered a top tier perk.
I think what draws my attention to NOED is that it was one of the lines drawn in the sand back in the day. I could see alot of talk about people wanting it nerfed, but it wasn't.
Why I think it's interesting is because what it symbolised. We lost a lot survivors because of all the nerfs survivor received, while concurrently creating an entitled killer class who (as we've seen recently) just don't deal well with nerfs to killers at all.
The devs created a particular kind of community because of the way the metric was applied and I don't think it was for the best.
NOED *was* nerfed. It used to be permanent, with no hex totem.

Or at least make it so that a grab also counts as a hit, so that you're not cheated out of a hit that you should've gotten. Nothing is more frustrating than having the grab start, survivor gets away, and they don't even get hurt like they would've on the p2p host.
This. I got several fake grabs Saturday night, and it can really cost you.
One was on a hook rescue during EGC, and getting stuck in the grab animation allowed both survivors to escape. If I'd injured instead of fake grabbed, I would have downed him in the exit gates. I've also had one that resulted in the last gen being fixed. The already-injured survivor went back on the gen while I was stuck in the grab animation, then poof! Adrenaline.
It's gotten to where I don't even want to try grabbing anymore. I'd almost rather lunge so I get the hit than take the chance on a grab not registering. But wait! I have a challenge to grab survivors! /sigh

I didn't have much trouble with this one. As long as you run BT and willing to trade spots it shouldn't be too bad.
One I had issues with was Decisive Light. At red ranks it's hard to get a killer not looking at a wall while picking up a survivor. Luckly, you don't need to get the save for it to count. So don't worry about timing, just go for the blind score.
This. I got it last night by hook trading against a NOED Wraith. Because it was a Wraith, having BT didn't even help. I just unhooked and bodyblocked, even though I was on death hook.
I saw the chance and took it, throwing away a ritual (escape with Ace) and a pip just to get it out of the way. Thankfully the hook was close to the exit, because the Wraith downed me and still went after the guy.

Yeah, I was in Discord last night and started looking at cosmetics... Had to ask my friend to repeat himself because the Oni was angry. At the very least, lower the volume in menu/store so I don't get my ears blasted out.
On another note, the store needs "pose" buttons. I go to look at a weapon for the Spirit and she instantly hides it inside her arm. I try to check out a weapon for the Oni and he decides now is the time to break out the kanabo.
