  • "Face" camp, never. It's pointless, and it just lets them know you're salty.

If I know the team is very altruistic, I'll tend to stay a little closer to the hook. Of course, those kinds of teams often unhook as soon as your back is turned anyway.

Now, if I've hooked someone and the exit gates are open in a game I've not done too well on, I'll camp pretty hard. If I'm fairly sure I'll pip regardless, I just run off and look for someone else.
  • The only change I make is switching skill check and hook struggle from spacebar to E.
  • BBQ doesnt need a nerf. I rarely get caught by it because I assume everyone has it and act accordingly. Run one way while you count to four, then turn and walk another way.

As others have said. Ruin is almost a necessity. Killers absolutely need a perk to slow down gens. As far as other gen-slowing perks go... Lullaby needs several hooks to take full effect and can be destroyed before it does anything. Overcharge requires that you kick the gen, and skilled survivors can just make the check anyway (I almost always fail the first overcharge check, but after that it's easy). Thanatophobia is near-worthless... Even with Thana 3 and all four survivors injured, it only adds 12 seconds to a gen.
  • Hag, though Doctor is a close second. I like both because they have the ability to counter loops and herd survivors more easily, but I don't have to be a blinkmaster to use them.

I suck HARD at nurse. The last time I tried to do a nurse ritual I ended up blinking at the ground over and over while a survivor ran circles around me, and it took me five or six tries to get the last blink hit I needed.

As for playing AGAINST them, I have a love/hate relationship with both Hag and Doctor.

For Hag, I hate playing against bad Hag players. Invariably they place every trap they own and then some around the hook and always teleport back. GOOD Hags, OTOH... They are SCARY. Nowhere is safe, and every corner could be a magnet for my nose.

Against the Doc... Well, sometimes I just want to DC when I see the killer put in a puzzle piece offering. I don't actually DC (I've only ever RQ once), but I know it's probably a Distressing/Unnerving Doctor with Iridescent King and Polished Electrode. Ugh.

A Doc on a semi-open map with places that are out of range of his static field can be quite fun to go against, though.
  • I don't really like playing AS any of the licensed killers. However, playing against a Myers who knows what he is doing is almost always a fun game.

One of my favourite moments was a time I found the Ruin totem fairly quickly. I decided to finish it even though he was coming. I knew he'd reached EW2, but I figured I could take a hook to get rid of Ruin. I finished the totem, started running, he popped EW3... and mori'd me on the spot. I didn't consider the possibility of a tombstone. I laughed my ass off over that one.

Myers is one of the only killers that genuinely scares me sometimes.
  • Devour Hope is definitely not meta, but it *is* fun. Lately my hag has been running DH, Ruin, TotH, and Nurse's. Even if they get DH first, it still wastes time. When they get Ruin and TotH and think they're done, though...

I don't really play enough killer to have an actual opinion on other perks. I think my hag is the only killer to have unlocked all four perk slots.

As a solo survivor, I love Kindred. It seems like it dramatically increases my chances of a safe unhook.
Technician is good, especially against Freddy but also for the general noise reduction. It makes it much easier to repair a gen right by a killer who is chasing someone.
I still love Empathy. It gives SO much information. I think i like it more than Bond, though Bond is arguably more useful if you're not running Self Care.

I have a rule for survivor builds: Half of my perks must come from that survivor's unique perks. That forces me to come up with different builds for everyone.
  • I like most of the MacMillan maps. The Asylum is good, the Autohaven maps are iffy (Gas Heaven is probably the worst of those). Red Forest is decent, though a bit big for most killers. Springfield and Haddonfield are ok.

    The two indoor maps though...

No matter how many times I play them, I always have trouble finding gens in Lery's and The Game. I know about the sliding door thing, I still end up running around like an idiot.

And 90% of the time when I see a puzzle piece offering it's a Doctor with Distressing and Unnerving.
  • Bloody Nea and regular Laurie
There's no excuse, if you're playing with Laurie it's because you want to use and abuse that damn broken perk.

That's not the *only* reason to play Laurie, though I'll admit it is the most likely reason.

Even as someone who mostly plays survivor, I absolutely hate DS. However, I sometimes get rituals that require me to use Laurie. In those cases, I use all non-obsession loadouts. Granted, I only have one perk slot on her so it's usually just Dead Hard 1.

The only time I will ever use DS is when I get around to doing the Adept Laurie achievement, and I'll feel dirty the whole time I'm doing it.

That being said, I do hate seeing a bloody Laurie with a flashlight.
  • To fix the AFK killer problem, i think they should make Evader give a minimum Silver emblem if you escape without ever being chased. That would not only fix the AFK problem, it would reward players who are very good at being stealthy.

As for auto-pipping when the killer DCs, no. Guaranteeing that you won't depip is appropriate, and it should already do that. It may *say* -1 pip, but it doesn't actually remove the pip.
  • For me it's usually not the character, it's the offering.

If I put in an Objective offering, I get chased the whole game and can't do gens.
If I put in an Altruism offering, either the killer doesn't hook anyone or someone else beats me to the unhook (usually because I'm trying to do it safely).
If I put in a Survival offering, I simply don't survive.
If I put in a Boldness offering, either I get hooked early and camped to death or I never get chased.

For characters I get lobby dodged WAY more with P3 Claudette than i do with any other character.

Edit: The Dead Hard bug is killing me a lot recently as well. I *really* wish I'd gotten SB instead of DH after prestiging this last time.
